Bumble & Bumble Tonic Lotion is a blend of herbs, vitamins and Tea Tree oil to replace moisture, soothe, detangle, and enhance the performance of products. It's priced at £17 for a 250ml bottle.
I love the packaging design as I think Bumble & Bumble products look quite funky even though the design is actually fairly plain. It has a pump spray on top to allow you to spray it directly onto your hair.
The lotion is a very thin, watery substance which is easy to spray evenly onto the hair. It should be used on damp hair, and I just spray it evenly through my hair then comb through to make sure it's evenly distributed. It doesn't feel heavy, greasy or sticky in my hair.
It has a very fresh minty type fragrance which is lovely, and it really cools and refreshes the scalp. I find the effect of this on my scalp is much more evident than any effect on my hair. My scalp feels less dry and it no longer itches, and just generally feels more comfortable.
As far as my hair goes, I do find this does a pretty decent job of detangling it and it is easy to comb through, but other than that I'm not really sure it does anything. I don't find it leaves my hair softer or smoother, it doesn't add shine, and I don't find it enhances the performance of other products, so I'm quite at a loss as to why it is so expensive really.
Well that depends what you want out of it. If you're looking for an effective way to relieve a dry scalp then this could be worth a try, though there are cheaper alternatives that also work. But other than that I really do think it's just a very overpriced detangling spray.
Bumble and Bumble is one of the most raved about hair brands, and I have to admit I'm also a huge fan- of the other products I've tried I've loved them.
This spray lotion is used to detangle hair, add shine, improve the way styling products work in the hair and replace your hairs natural oils. Sprayed onto damp hair and worked through I see this product as essentially a primer for hair.
I've owned my full size 250 ml bottle, which costs around £15 for 2 months and use it daily, but it almost looks brand new, it's still 90% full! So that's great value for money! That's pretty much it for the positives. I just don't see any difference using this product, I've tried it with the Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray, as the bottle suggests, but I didn't notice any added shine or hold. I've used this with salt sprays, curl gel, hairspray, and I haven't seen a noticeable difference in the way any of them perform.
I just haven't seen any benefits using this product, which I find so disappointing for such a high-end brand. My advice: save your money and go for something else from the Bumble and Bumble range.
Another product from the wide range of Bumble and Bumble products is the Tonic Lotion, i was lucky enough to get given this as a present so i gave it a try along with the shampoo and conditioner as well.
Bumble & Bumble Tonic Lotion is used to moisturise and detangle your hair making it easy to work with before styling, whilst giving your hair shine. It helps to replace natural oils that you lose in your chemically treated hair or dry hair and makes it softer.
Tonic lotion is suitable for all the hair types, for best results apply Bumble & Bumble Tonic Lotion on your damp hair, spray it evenly through your hair, then dry and style as desired.
This is a alright product for detangling my hair and for adding extra condition and shine to your hair. But i personally think this is a product that does not do a lot to my hair considering what you pay for it, i think Bumble and Bumble have better products on the market that add shine and condition my hair already.
This is only really a hair product that prepares you hair for the styling products that you use, so it works out quite expensive to use this as well as other styling products.
I found this product a lot cheaper online so do search around for the most competitive price available, you will find some great savings.
