      Very helpful

      Ziggy Plays the car

I heard about a deal to buy one of these with lifetime maps on ebay for £79.99 and after extensively reviewing Amazon, PC World, Dooyoo and other websites to check it was good quality I took the plunge and bought my very first satnav.

I'm really glad I did, it comes in a small box and is well presented, it is simple to put together, the instructions explain how to initially connect the usb cable to your pc to download accurate maps and then you are off and running.

The satnav comes with a sticky holder which you attach to the inside of your windscreen and then you click/attach the satnav within this. The battery doesn't seem to last for more than three hours so there is also a charger which connects neatly to your cars cigarette input, the lead is easily long enough to connect this from either side of the windscreen, although when using this we decide to have the satnav on the passenger side to avoid loose wires annoying the driver.

The satnav is colourful, has volume which can be amended depending on how avidly you want to listen to the instruction and is brilliant. There are numerous options to find where you want to go, you can type in a street name, town or postcode, you can also choose from numerous options while moving, if you want a restaurant the satnav gives you a list of the closest options and you choose your favourite and it'll guide you there, this also works for petrol stations, hospitals, shops, supermarkets etc.

The satnav provides advance warning of speed cameras which is very useful, although it can be off putting on the M25 when it lists every camera that checks speed, not just speed cameras.

The satnav will provide details on how far you have to travel, estimated arrival time and even distance to the next turning, it is brilliant and so far the only time i've foxed it was in asking for directions to a bowling alley, we got close enough that I could see the alley, but the satnav told us to go a different direction. Otherwise we've completed plenty of 200-300 mile journeys without problems.

The Satnav is colourful, provides clear instruction on motorways of which lane to be in, gives advance notice of problems and has been a real bonus to us.

The voice is grating after while, it sounds like a posh lady, although occasionally the voice stutters in certain situations sounding like David Bowie singing Ziggy Stardust. This aside, I love my satnav and wouldn't be without it, i'm delighted with the bargain I received and would be confident using this anywhere. It is small enough to fit in a handbag or glove compartment and whilst the battery isn't too strong I can't think of another issue with it. The lifetime maps is a bonus, which I think attracted me to this initially, but I feel vindicated as friends who told me to use my android phone have since lost signal on vital journeys and found their satnav apps to be useless, whereas my Garmin has performed consistently well, even recalculating routes when I miss a turning and thus saving me hours of finding my way again.

This has been an unexpected pleasure for my wife and I, and we would both give this 5 out of 5 for quality, reliability and longevity.

Buy one now if you need a sat nav.

I recently had my car broken into and my sat nav was stolen (along with my iPod). My main concern was I need my sat nav for my job so I went straight to Halfords and brought the Nuvi 2595LMT. I was concerned about using a Garmin rather than a Tom Tom.

I was concerned for nothing, this sat nav is excellent and does everything that I need it to do!

I paid £130 for this sat nav and if I was asked to value the product, I wouldn't have thought twice about paying double. It really is that good!

      +++Ease of use+++
I found this sat nav simple to use and I didn't need to look at a guide to figure out how to search for a destination, change a destination and all of the usual functions I would have used.

I have also gave the sat nav to my father who isn't tech-savvy and he didn't have a problem. It is really simple to use!

This sat nav comes with many different features that alot of people would find useful such as voice recognition, which enables you to change the destination without touching the sat nav.

One thing I love about this sat nav is it tells you which lane you need to be in, something that always annoyed me with my old sat nav. If there are 4 lanes and two go right and two go left, it tells you which lanes you need to keep right.

Another massive bonus to this sat nav is it gives you traffic alerts which have saved me so much time over the past few months. This is something that many sat navs provide, but you get this feature free for life which is one of the reasons that I chose it.

For £130, you can't go wrong. A great sat nav for a great price. The only time I will ever replace this sat nav is when it dies and I will purchase another Garmin!

One of the best examples of sat nav technology

With this Garmin product map updates and traffic information are thrown into the bundle and remain free for the life of the satnav (unless Garmin see an opportunity to cash in). This is a major benefit when compared to competitors who charge one off or subscription fees for the same services. The device worked brilliantly, detouring through congested build ups of traffic saving me around 30 minutes from my journey (had I waited in the traffic). It is also very quick at updating, which is a bonus particularly if a wrong turn is made as the unit almost instantly re-calcuates a new route. The software included also allows for use accross the majority of europe which is great for those that require over-seas driving. This can also be updated to include countries further afield, however this comes at a premium and requires a subscription.
The voice command is such a bonus as it understands me clearly always getting the task correct saving me from 'messing' with the touch screen (which by the way is very responsive) creating a safer in drive experience than having to adjust a touch screen whilst driving. Use of the voice command also displays updated pictures of the route so there is no question as to whether you are on the correct route, you can easily see if you are or not. This is a fantastic addition as, in the past, satnavs have directed me on a route only to discover it was the wrong road miles later into the journey.
Inconclusion, this is a very useful product which will continue to take prime position on my dash board assisting me time and time again to arrive at my destination in the quickest most direct route available.
