“ Brand: Parasene / Equipment Type: Wheelbarrel „
*'What do we need one of THOSE for?!' *
£40 for a wheelbarrow?! I could think of other things I needed to save my hard earned pennies for! In hindsight though it wasn't lil ole moi lugging crap around the garden.
Poor ole Mr Abs'hubby2ulott managed for months without a 'barrow, but I guess the 2 skips worth of rubbish from the garage after our clear out was a little too much for him to keep carrying single handed.
Behold!!! Percy to the rescue!!! Ahh, our ' Percy'....... Green, mean and a true beefcake of a steel machine. He's not looking too well lately though. Battered and scuffed, he's truely been put through the mill this past few months. He carries way more weight than he should but he keeps on going and is holding up well!
With an 80 litre capacity, this parasene heavy duty wheelbarrow is very robust, remarkably sturdy, and very well made. Even I can use it! It has a 360mm pheumatic tyre and the frame made of steel is rust free which means we can leave it out in the garden with no worries. The handles are firm, comfortable to hold and supportive to the hand.
**What would we use it for?**
Although its a heavy duty wheelbarrow, i'm not quite sure it was designed for really heavy duty stuff. My better half has been shifting some rubble and I've seen stronger wheelbarrows for really heavy duty stuff. I would say this wheelbarrow is for soil, light rubbish, weeds, sticks, a few bricks, heavy logs of wood - concrete and rubble would fair better in something a big stronger.
**and failing that, it's very adaptable!**
Percy's a firm fave with my son in our garden. Not only am I able to plonk my washing in the ' barrow (providing its been cleaned out) but just yesterday it was a portable toy box for my toddler who spent ages just putting his toys in and taking them back out. Fab! With a quick spray and clean and bucket of water, out came the ducks and boats and that was my lil fella happily entertained again. Supervision is a must though of course!
Over the past 6 months, we have had ALOT of useage out of our wheelbarrow and it has faired very well apart from a slightly squeaky wheel.
It was a cheap purchase but actually turned out well rather to my surprise! I had bought far more heavy duty wheel barrows in the past but they had all broken, two of them, so this time I went for the cheaper version in the garden shop and amazingly it is going strong several years later and has lasted longer than the more expensive ones.
The barrow is wide and very easy to push. Being less deep it takes less of course but that is no bad thing for it is less heavy and the whole event is less of a struggle though of course more loads.
No punctures so far,
Yes I am pleased with my purchase and should not in future be worried about buying the cheapest in the shop.I would recommend this to anyone except large strong muscled people who may think it not tough and large enough!
I never thought I'd say this but this Parasene wheelbarrow actually makes using a wheelbarrow fun! The wheelbarrow looks like a quality product and it is, the actual design is incredibly sturdy and well made.
The pan has 80 litres capacity and material made up of steel which makes it perfect for light or even heavy garden use. On the first day of using it, I abused it by putting sacks of sand and grit and moving it over uneven surfaces and it fared extremely well.
The wheels are perfect size for in the garden. Not too big but not too small either. They go up and down bumps and ramps with ease. From the use I've had out of this wheelbarrow it feels like something so long lasting that I am going to have it for years to come.
The handles are easy to grip onto and even lifting and putting the wheelbarrow down is easy to do due to it having around 40- 50% more support than standard wheelbarrows because of how the steel tube is constructed.
Although it is a heavy duty wheelbarrow I wouldn't use it for commercial use. It's ok for heavy garden use but I wouldn't recommend it if you're a builder after something to pull its weight as this wheelbarrow won't. One of my main complaints is that after a few uses the wheels started to squeak, although nothing that a bit of oil won't fix but a niggling problem nonetheless.
I really like this wheelbarrow and use it all the time to carry soil or leaves around the garden
This product has been very well made and can really take a lot of abuse with an 80 litre capacity and a price of about 40 pounds this wheelbarrow offers really great value for money
I have used this product for nearly three years now and have found it very reliable this product has been bashed about and really not treated very well but it just keeps working
This bit of kit has been left out most winters and through the frosts and there is no rest on the mental areas and only some superficial scratches on the plastic
In conclusion my family use this wheelbarrow a lot and it has been really treated quite badly but is still working well and does the job it says on the tin
The warranty is a standard year but this product should really outlast your pets and hopefully your kids as it is really made well
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to change there wheelbarrow for a hardwearing strong but very light alternative
This wheelbarrow offers great value for money and could last 15 years if looked after well a must for any family
This wheel barrow is available in two different colours, the green and yellow pictured above or the black and red which I have owned for the last 3 years, I paid £44.99 for mine 3 years ago.
It is a very large wheel barrow with an 80 litre capacity so you can put a lot of dirt in it in one go, I brought it when I was doing my back garden for moving the excess soil or should I say clay in my case around to the front of the house to the skip we had to dispose of it, I loaded the wheel barrow up to full and lifted the handles quite easily as the barrow distributed the weight very evenly and didn't have any problems getting it to the skip but it was too heavy for me to lift the handles up high enough to tip it back out into the skip so I had to empty it by hand and do half loads after this but my husband managed to tip it easily enough.
The barrow is very sturdy compared to others I have used even when full it doesn't feel like it is going to tip over on me even when I have to turn it to get out of the gate, the tyre on the front is inflatable so it a nice smooth ride rather than a solid tyre but I was worried it might puncture easily but I haven't got a puncture yet so all is good as far as this barrow is concerned.
It was painted a nice shiny black when I got it but as you can imagine 3 years of abuse and being left out in all weathers means the paint has come off so it doesn't look as nice any more but this doesn't stop it being just as useful as it was the day I brought it.
The handles have groves in them to help you grip it easier and are made of a hard rubber material and whole this does mean you can get a good grip on them it isn't very comfortable on your hands so I always wear gloves.
It is large so storage may be a problem but it is a fantastic barrow that I would recommend.
This robust barrow has a full steel pan with a generous 90 ltr capacity.
