Very good all round pad for the PC

Having bought a few games for my laptop, I thought it was time to get a proper control pad to allow me to experience the games properly. There is only a limited number of games you can play without a control pad and I decided to buy the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad. Having owned each of the Playstation consoles I was immediately attracted to this layout of pad because I felt it would be much easier to use than a completely new design. The feel of the pad is that of a high quality product, and the buttons feel as if they wont break after a short period of use and it feels very comfortable to use. The buttons are very responsive and easy to press and navigate my digits across. The USB cable however is my main gripe with this controller. The cable is quite rigid and doesnt bend as easily as i would like. If the casing of the wire was a softer plastic then the cable wouldnt be as fragile, but it feels as if it will easily break and I anticipate the casing will split soon enough. The analogue controllers are also a little loose for my liking. Obviously being used to the Playstation firmness it did take a little getting used to, but I still think they could do with firming up for a better feel and accuracy.

Take it or leave, won't help won't hurt.

If you could hold awkwardness, it would be this controller. Mind you having a console like controller for your PC is great but it just feels weird in your hand, like a square Nintendo paddle or a Sega space-ship shaped paddle. You just match the hole with the plug (teehee) and then you find a game that is compatible with said 'controller' and then you go to town. Say you have a hankering to play a little Medal Of Honor, you dust of the case, open it up, pop in the disc and you will be playing like Play Station in no time. But then again, seeing as there are four buttons on the face, it makes it hard to decide if you press black or....black. Says you want to play a little Diablo, you dig up the case (seeing as that game is unholy and ruined the lives of thousands of people with its revolutionary graphics and game play, and differnt cults and........) and then you insert plug A into slot A, simple and you play on. What is this paddle breaks? Don;t sweat it, take it back and get a new one, FREE-ish. So what about this paddle, if you aren't busy playing Guitar Hero Aerosmith and really want to go old school and play some Clock Tower or Alone in the Dark for the PC, then buy this item, either your local electronic store or eBay/Amizon.

for the pc user wanting to dabble in MAME or console games, this gamepad is a must!

Anyone who's tried to play console games or MAME on a computer knows that keyboards just don't cut it. Its especially true for emulating N64 of playstation 2 games where the analogue thumb stick control is required - a mouse can't substitute this and neither can a keyboard. Enter the Logitech dual action as a great cheap way to fill the void. Modelled just like a playstation 2 controller, its got everything - dual thumb sticks, buttons for 'x' 'o' 'square' etc and 'start' arrows, 4 trigger finger buttons. Setting this up with typical emulators such as project64 is easy. Its recognized straight away being usb and just press buttons on the gamepad to correspond to whatever setup you want. Only downside is its not wireless but that would add to the cost.
