This fragrance has a subtle yet masculine scent, and is also great value for money compared to other fragrances of it's kind.
In my opinion the scent is suitable for any time of day, not too overpowering for the daytime whilst being perfectly suitable for a night out. It is quite fresh compared to other men's fragrances, without giving up that masculine edge. The price tag is also attractive, with a 60ml bottle being available for under £30 combined with the fact that this product does last a long time as you will only need a couple of sprays each time you wear it.
One thing that i wasn't so keen on was the bottle. It is quite chunky is appearance, with a large and relatively heavy lid. It's simple and indeed does the job, but sometimes I like something more attractive to look at on my bathroom shelf in the morning.
A personal favourite, Yves Saint Laurent L'homme is a gorgeous scent with a price tag that will not leave your pockets empty.
I first purchased this fragrance two years ago, and it is still my current choice of fragrance. I often get asked by friends and colleagues what fragrance i am wearing, and i cant say i blame them for asking. The scent is a woody aroma with a hint of ginger that manages to remain very masculine despite being very sweet. There is also a hint of violet noticeable in the scent. The thing i love so much about this fragrance is the creators have not gone overboard with the power of the scent, but instead opted for a friendly scent that soothes the nostrils, but also one that lasts for a long time. I put on this fragrance at around 8am, and my wife can still smell it when i return home from work at around 6pm.
Yves saint lauren l'homme comes in various size bottles, all of which are great value for money. The bottle sizes are as follows ( i have listed the average price for each too) :
40ml ( £27 )
60ml ( £36 )
100ml ( £48 )
I personally bought the 100ml for £48.45 from boots, and i must say this is great value for money as i have been using it for a year now and still have not run out.
L'homme comes in a very nicely designed bottle with a large hexagonal screw like metal lid. This lid feels very heavy and screws very nicely on the bottle with little effort. The fact that it is so heavy makes it feel very expensive and durable.
As for the spray of the bottle, the spray is excellent and delivers a large, evenly spread and powerful spray, unlike many other spray bottles which spray in all different directions.
In conclusion, Yves saint lauren l'homme is a sweet but masculine scent that is great value for money, has a scent that lasts all day and comes in a very niceley designed bottle. A definate 10/10.
*Please note that this is my first ever review of a fragrance and all advice/tips are more than welcome - even if you tell me that it's useless!!*
This is a discrete but masculine smelling aftershave which, personally, I feel equally as comfortable wearing during the day or at night. It dries to your skin quickly and does not leave that sticky residue which other aftershaves can be guilty of.
I read several online reviews of this before buying my first bottle and a lot of them mentioned the need to persevere with it as the fragrance can initially seem 'wishy-washy' or weak but it does grow (for want of a better word) and the initial ginger-ish scent is soon added to by, what I believe to be, a hint of violet.
L'Homme's drydown is where it really comes into it's own, I can't quite pull out the individual scents which go into making the longer lasting fragrance but it is a truly pleasant smell which is masculine without being overpowering as some others are.
The longevity of the scent is, in my opinion, perfect. If apply it before leaving the house for work in the morning I can, more often than not, still be receiving 'wafts' of it 6 or 7 hours later.
The bottle is a standard, round design which fits perfectly in my hand when I come to squirt it on and comes with a distinctive hexagon shaped lid which makes the product look slightly like a screw!
I bought the 60ml bottle in October last year and despite wearing it 4 or 5 days a week I fully expect it to last for at least a year. After searching various online stores I paid around £25-£30 and I believe this to be very good value for money.
Overall, I would have no hesitations in recommending this product to anybody, however I feel it may be more suited to grown men more than teenagers looking for a 'quick impact' fragrance.
OOOHHH! this is qutie a special one! i had bought this as part of a gift set for my dad for his anniversary. When i was choosing the fragrances this one just stood out. To be honest its one of the best i have tried before and i do have quite a large number of fragrances.
It is now one of my Dad's favourites too and i use it sometimes aswell. Before he thought he would use it just for the special occasions, but now he can not resist wearing it pretty much every other day or so.
Now more about the scent itself. It has actually got quite a manly and strong smell and is definitely going to get the girls smelling you. :D .... and maybe even the guys. Enough of that now. All i was basically trying to say is that it smells very good.
Anyway the price of the fragrance is about average at £36 for the 100ml bottle.
Please check out the rest of my reviews, as i do have some other fragrances reviewed too. I hope you have got plenty of information from this.
