About a month or so ago I ordered a huge haul of Body Shop products online as they had an online offer for 50% off when you bought 8 products (or 40% off when you bought 6 products). I bought the 8 products. One of the products that I ordered was this Vanilla Eau de Toilette. The Vanilla Eau de Toilette comes in a 30ml bottle, and it should be £8.50 at full price, but I paid just £4.25 for it as part of my 50% off order. The Vanilla Eau de Toilette comes in a clear glass bottle, and it's a spray eau de toilette rather than a 'dab on' eau de toilette (I'm fairly sure they're not called 'dab on' perfumes, but you get what I'm on about, yes?). I like that the bottle is clear so that I can see how much of the eau de toilette is left. The spray nozzle works perfectly, it actually sprays out quite a large fine mist, as opposed to a concentrated spritz that you get with most perfumes. I typically spray the Vanilla Eau de Toilette all over my body, as eau de toilettes are lighter and not as intense as eau de parfums. Even though I spray the Vanilla Eau de Toilette all over my body I don't find that the vanilla fragrance lasts all that long on my skin. I normally take my bottle of eau de toilette out with me and top up a couple of times throughout the day. I actually find that the vanilla scent seems to linger much longer on my clothes than on my actual skin. Although this is only an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum I do think that it's quite disappointing that the vanilla fragrance doesn't last longer. The Vanilla Eau de Toilette does smell really gorgeous though. It's quite a light and refreshing vanilla fragrance, but it's still quite a warm and sweet vanilla fragrance. It doesn't smell sickly sweet of vanilla at all, it's actually quite a 'light' vanilla scent if that makes sense. It's a very delicious and edible vanilla scent, it smells good enough to eat. It's a summery vanilla fragrance rather than a wintery vanilla fragrance. I guess by that I mean that it's not a spicy and heady vanilla scent which makes you think of cold winter nights, but a light and sweet vanilla fragrance which makes you think of warm summer nights. Although I absolutely love the fragrance of this Vanilla Eau de Toilette I probably wouldn't repurchase it as I was quite disappointed with its longevity. If however I could get it for half price again, just £4.25, then I actually probably would repurchase it as you can't really complain about getting a bottle of perfume for just £4.25, even if you do have to top it up a couple of times during the day.
I finally decided to buy this Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette after hearing several good reviews from my friends who had tried out this scent. I like wearing more natural scents of perfume and so thought this would be a good choice scent wise; nevertheless I have to say that I was a little bit apprehensive about trying this out at first. Though the Body Shop is a great shop that I trust a lot on the whole, I have always associated the brand with body care items instead of scents and perfumes like this product. However, I was pretty sure that I would be pleased with the result I received, since I have found myself greatly enjoying products bought from the Body Shop in the past. This Vanilla Eau de Toilette cost me £9 for a small 30ml bottle. As I mentioned, it is not a huge amount of perfume to get for that amount of money; however, I do not use perfumes on a day to day basis so I have not yet run out of it (actually, I have not gone past a quarter of the bottle yet, I don`t think). Now, I am aware that perfumes do not come cheap exactly, and many designer companies will charge you far more for just a tiny amount of their perfume, but I did find this price to be a little bit steep, like most of the Body Shop`s products, considering that it is only a small bottle of perfume that you receive and the Body Shop is not particularly a designer brand; though it is a good quality company. It is not exceedingly expensive, but it is not a particularly cheap product to buy either. The packaging for this Eau de Toilette is nothing spectacular compared to all the weird and wonderful perfume bottle designs that are on the market nowadays; instead it is quite simple like the majority of the Body Shop`s packaging, and I think that I like this better than if it had been a strange, abstract perfume bottle because after all, sometimes, the simple things are the best things. The bottle is rounded and made of clear glass so that you can see the liquid inside, and there is some simple text printed on. There is a small spray mechanism that is very easy to use, and, also, this comes with a small metal cap to keep it from drying out. I would not call this lightweight packaging exactly, but it is not heavy either and it reallyis no fuss to slip this into your bag to use when you are out and about because of the small size of it. It is easy to apply; just push down the spray nozzle and it will spray out the eau de toilette. The spray strength is actually quite powerful compared to the spray nozzles of some other perfumes and body scents I have used before, so I can keep this quite a bit away from my body when I spray. It is easy to apply, like most perfumes. Sometimes I find some bad quality vanilla scents to be artificial and sickly, like someone just chucked in some bad quality vanilla flavoured milkshake powder into the mixture; fortunately, the scent of this is nothing like that at all. It smells delicious and pure, and it smells just like a vanilla eau de toilette ought to smell like; real vanilla. It is sweet and rich but not too sickly unless you spray too much on. The smell is very prominent, but it does not become too strong, like "granny" perfume. The scent fades gradually through the hours; I cannot say that the longevity is too great since after a few hours the scent seems very faint, but I guess it is better than some perfumes, so it is not too bad. Overall I do like this eau de toilette from the Body Shop, since it smells really lovely and comes in a nice bottle that is easy to use. The price, though it is not cheap, is not as expensive as it could be, so I think that it is a reasonable price to pay for this perfume. However, I will have to dock one star for its longevity, which, to be honest, is not fantastic. All in all, however, I would recommend this vanilla scented eau de toilette with4 out of 5 dooyoo stars.
First of all, I should admit that I've been buying The Body Shop's Vanilla perfume forever; it's been a favourite of mine ever since my teenage years. This is a very classic scent, and the kind that can be worn and enjoyed by women of all ages. Buying perfume can be quite an expensive business so it's good to see that The Body Shop continue to sell this at a reasonable price (usually in the region of about £8 per bottle- get a Love Your Body card and it'll be even cheaper!) and are still using high quality ingredients. It's a sweet (but not too sweet) true vanilla smell that will remind you of vanilla essence. There's a hint of coconut in there but nothing that will overpower the vanilla. It's a very comforting smell too. If you're having a bad day, then this fragrance is like a hug in a bottle. Fragrances can be notoriously difficult to describe, but not this one. It smells of vanilla. If you like the smell of vanilla, then you will like this fragrance- it's as simple as that! This is quite a long-lasting fragrance- spritz it on in the morning and you'll still be able to smell it at lunch. I always get complimented when I wear this fragrance- I think this is partly because it's such a distinctive and easily recognisable scent. I think it's worth pointing out that my husband loves this smell as well. The Body Shop always seem to have lots of tester bottles on display so customers can try out the various fragrances on offer- give this one a go and you won't be disappointed.
This is one of my staple perfumes. When I bought it for the first time around 8 yrs ago i thought it was a bit pricey at £8.50. Afterall it is a small 30ml deep saffron colour glass bottle with simple white flower design. Your typical no nonsnese natural body shop style. But never judge a book by its cover. It is worth every penny. It smells delicious.I was sat in english class once and suddenly got the urge to eat cakes lol.I have even known men to borrow it from me! It is a very simple smell so i usually mix it with other perfumes to make them smell a bit nicer. You only need 2 squirts as it is very strong and can be overpowering if you spray it too much. This makes great value for money. I have been using mine everday for over a year now. The bottle is very small so can fit easily into a handbag for when you need it the most. And has a simple pump spray action like most perfumes. However if you spray it on in the morning it usually lingers on your clothes for a few days which could annoy some people but i love it so dont mind. I would recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth.
Vanilla is not one of my favourite scents unless it is in a latte and in perfumes the vanilla need's to be balanced just right or else it can be too sweet and cloying. The body shop have been doing vanilla perfume for years and they seem to have the key to getting it just right. Available in a 30ml Eau de toilette for £8.50 from Body shops up and down the country it is certainly a bargain. It comes in a lovelybut very simple little glass bottle that represents the natural no nonsence approach the body shop has to it's products. It is a perfect size for slipping into your handbag for reapplying throughout the day. The scent itself is vanilla obviously and is slightly sweet but not so much it is sickly. I actually think it smells like home made cookies which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your viewpoint. The sweetness of vanilla is countbalanced by a muskiness which really does compliment it perfectly and help's take away some of the sweetness to make it a more adult scent rather than an overly sweet one for teenagers. For a body shop perfume it is surprisingly long lasting which for anyone familiar with them know this can be a major drawback of some of their other perfumes. When you first spray it, it can be a little strong but this soon fades and you are left with a more subtle fragrance but one that still packs quite a punch and lingers on you for the whole day. I find it to be a really good mood enhancer and it reminds me of summer for some reason which is nice in this cold weather we are having. It isn't my favourite perfume but at only £8.50 it is nice to have some for when I fancy a completely different scent to what I would normally wear and if you like sweet almost edible smelling scents then I think that this will be one for you.
I love foody, fruity and sweet scents and much prefer them to floral scents. So in the Body Shop I saw this perfume and as it's called vanilla I couldn't help smelling it, then taking it home. The bottle is as shown in the picture and is actually quite small (30ml). It's a light brown with a white flower on it. The only annoying thing about it is the tightly fitting metal cap which I just took off and put to the side. It doesn't need it and doesn't make it look different, just makes it annoying with slippery hands. It is a strong bottle which I have dropped quite a few times and it hasn't smashed yet. Body shop have a fragrance range called simply 'vanilla' which includes perfume oil, mists, lotion and this EDT, I imagine you can layer up the scents. The Body Shop says : Bergamot, peach, strawberry and orange flower. - They have been blended together to create the sweet, warm and velvety vanilla fragrance. Of course my nose knows nothing and I cannot smell strawberry, orange flower or bergamot just a hint of peach. When I first smelt this, it was a light sweet fragrance, which then developed into warm vanilla and this stayed throughout the day. Much later on the smell was deeper and reminded me of sandalwood or possibly musk which normally I wouldn't like but it smelt delicious. The perfume lasts possibly as well as some of my designer EDP which is all day but the bottle is a simple rounded shape which fits into any handbag and you don't have to worry about it smashing. At about £8 a bottle it's an okay price and my 1st bottle is almost finished making it a good price for everyday wear. Mine has lasted about 8 months but I alternate between fragrances and you only need 2 sprays. I spray this from about body spray length because it really is too strong. I have had some comments about smelling like caramel (ahem my dad mainly) which he then said 'have you rolled around in sugar?' some people really liked it and some didn't. I will buy the body spray when this finishes because it will be lighter than this and not as heavy for daytime.
I love vanilla and wanted to find something which I could wear every day and would not break the bank. This is only sold in the Body Shop and is on sale for £8.00 and comes in a 30ml bottle which is pale brown. There is a spray top with a tiny silver top to cover the spray hole. This is a scent which lasts all day and a couple of sprays is enough to make you smell delicious. It is sweet smelling so not for those who prefer a muskier scent and absolutely perfect for general day wear. It is not overpowering nor does it choke you and I find it fresh and uplifting. I also find it comforting on wet rainy days and it certainly lifts my mood! Some may find it a bit too sweet but a little sweetness doesn't hurt anyone! I have had this for about 4 months now and still have half the bottle left. This is fab for general day wear but probably not for use for an evening out.
I'm generally a fan of all things that have a vanilla smell and at under a tenner for a 30 ml bottle this is an excellent every day scent that will not break the bank and leaves you smelling nice and fresh and it is a scent that lends itself well to the summer even if the one we get in this country is pretty non existent or so it seems. There is nothing fancy about this particular product and if you are not a fan of vanilla then I guess it would not be for you. It is simply packaged in a small bottle which has a pale brown colour to it with a spray applicator at the top. The name of the scent is in a simple type with the white outline of a flower on the bottle as well. It certainly has a slightly musky smell to it however I still find it quite light feeling when I wear it. Although light feeling the scent does last for most of the day and this is what, for me, makes it a good general day use scent, it is not one I would wear to go out wearing at night as it does not have that sort of smell, it is suited for general day use. Overall a nice affordable scent which I like to wear every now and again, I tend to mix my scents and this is probably the cheapest one that I use and it is definately good value.
I have a thing for anything that smells like vanilla, and sweet foody smells in general, and so am currently using four different products with vanilla as the main or one of the main fragrances. This means that I'm constantly covered in what is essentially a really cheap, simple and sweet, 14-year old girly girl smell, instead of the elaborate sophisticated ones that come in expensive bottles and carry ethereal names. The fragrance comes in a little see-through, orangy brown glass spray bottle, with a tiny metallic silver-coloured cork. It is simply called "Vanilla" in two languages, which at first whiff seems to pretty much sum it up. But according to The Body Shop, the fragrance has a lot more to it: "Notes of bergamot, coconut, apricot and strawberry - Combined create the fruity top notes. Notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and rose - combined create the floral heart notes. Notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk - Combined create the spicy and woody base notes." If I'm honest I can't smell many of the above in the fragrance, which probably means my nose isn't made for these things. To me the fragrance doesn't seem to have many of those crisp, fresh high notes that fragrances usually have, although I think I can smell a hint of apricot. Or maybe it just means that the high notes aren't very 'high' in this one. Even in the beginning the smell is sort of even, and it seems like the low notes dominate. The Body Shop describes it as: "a sweet, warm and velvety vanilla fragrance", which says it a lot better. It is a very warm, laid-back, lovely, sumptuous smell, with lots of sweetness to it. The smell is quite strong when sprayed, and I wouldn't recommend for anyone to go crazy with this, at least just before you'll be in the same room with other people. I like to spray it in the air above me, and let it fall down on me as mist. It seems to settle ok in 10-15 minutes, and isn't too strong after that. A 30 ml bottle of the fragrance currently sells at £8.30 in The Body Shop, which is a lot for a tiny bottle. But it seems to last pretty long, due to being so strong, or tightly packed, if you like. And the fragrance is so lovely, it's worth it.
I decided to buy the Body Shop's Vanilla Eau De Toilette simply because I lurrrvvee vanilla hehe! I already have the whole range of vanilla products except from this so I had just one more skittle to knock in the bowling alley. I was very eager to try this since the Vanilla Body Mist in the vanilla range is quite subtle so what I needed was something a bit more stronger although the Vanilla Perfume Oil is strong, you can't stop a girl from urging to buy everything that's desired! So I made my trip to The Body Shop and purchased the eau de toilette and other things of course knowing me! Appearance It's an orange-y coloured 30ml bottle stating exactly what it is. Simples. Price The price is £8.30. Although the bottle is quite petite, the cost isn't bad compared to how much you can spend on other branded perfumes! The Smell! Oooh yess. The smell... Well! It smells absoloutely gorgeous I must say, lovely and sweet! At first when you spray it on your hand for example and sniff it, it smells a bit strong and not that sweet but once you've waited for about 30 seconds, the smell transforms into a lovely creamy, rich vanilla scent. Yum. It really does smell oh so fabulous! The smell lingers for ages too which is always a good thing! And you wouldn't be surprised wearing this little beauty that I've certainly raked in hundreds of compliments by people. Wonderful! Overall All in all, this is a gorgeous, sweet smelling perfume that's sure to please ur senses any day!
I love the vanilla range at the body shop, but I'm going to focus specifically on the body mist, as this is the one I have at the moment (plus there wasn't a catagory for the body mist, so I'm sorry if anyone gets annoyed that I've put it here instead). I love the smell of this product, it always chirps me up instantly when I'm feeling down and there is absolutely no doubt about it being an aphrodisiac - people are seduced by the smell of this stuff. Sadly, the smell doesn't last very long, or at least the body mist doesn't (perhaps the eau de toilette would be better) but it's relatively cheap, only being about 6 pounds or so, and I think that for a little perk-me-up this is the perfect price. I would love to try out other products from the range when I next get the chance, and would recommend this to anyone who is considering trying it.
I'm a huge perfume fan and just love spraying on different scents to see if it suits me. I usually go for light and soft scents as heavy scents just trigger really bad headaches. I happened to pass by the body shop today and was attracted by their lovely smelling scented oil candles that fill up the whole block of the arcade. I was drawn to their eau de toilettes and since I've been loving sweet, dessert scented fragrances, I just had to try this vanilla scented eau de toilette. They also have other products in this scent like body mists and soaps but I wanted to get the most intense scent as I know that body sprays tend to wear off, so this product looked ideal. It comes in a little 30ml glass bottle with a spray and little silver metal lid. At first I thought that there wasn't a lid on them but then saw that the lids were about the same size as the spray top. The bottle is small and handy enough to pop into my handbag, which I love. I don't usually put perfume bottles in my hand bag, as most of my fragrances are in delicate and often large bottles, but this one is just right for that purpose. The scent of this perfume is just a very sweet vanilla fragrance. Its so sweet and soft, ideal to wear as an everyday daytime scent. I know that vanilla isn't for everyone and I think you'll either love it or hate it, so testing before you buy would be best. I just love how lovely, sweet and just yummy this smells. I have had compliments wearing this and it's a head turner as not many perfumes smell of pure sweet vanilla. They sell this bottle for £8.50, which is pretty reasonable, seen as other scents can easily cost £30 and over... I know this isn't some major designer fragrance but I love the scent and think it's excellent value for money. I think that this is one of the better body shop fragrances and it's just so sweet and light, I want to wear it all the time. I highly recommend this to girls who like light and sweet scents. It's pure vanilla heaven!
I love the Body Shop and I love going in there. I read somewhere that if you Vanilla or have a sniff of it it is supposed to stop your sweet cravings. So when I started the diet I carried a bottle of it to stop me from reaching for the sweetie counter. With this scent there is no in between you love or you hate it. By reading other reviews this is very true. I felt it was very sweet and although not totally being made of Vanilla, the Vanilla is quite overpowering. It comes in a simple and plain bottle and you can spray it. A little goes a long way. I found there were days where I couldn't face using it as it was too sweet. On run up to the time of the month I found it usual as it is a time where I just wanted to eat EVERYTHING in sight. I found the effect of putting you off sweets didn't last very long. I found it only lasted about 30 minutes or so. Overall a very nice product but it wasn't for me.
Now, this Body Shop eau de toilette in vanilla is gorgeous. The perfume is obviously for women that want to have the beautiful aroma of vanilla following them around. It's not too strong, it's sweet and it's at a good price. Sometimes the smell is so good that I can't actually stop smelling it, it really is good if you are a person that loves the sweet, sweet fragrance of the vanilla pod. I use this perfume very often and it seems to be lasting quite a long time, because when you put it on, you don't need that much to get the scent on your body. Unlike some of the other vanilla eau de toilettes on the market today, this one actually smells properly of the vanilla pod, it's pretty realistic and nice. The bottle that it is contained in is rather simple, it's just an amber coloured bottle (to match the amber coloured liquid inside) with a simple text printed on the glass bottle stating what it is! I really would recommend this to people who want to smell lovely.
Like a lot of women, my absolute favourite scent is vanilla. I find vanilla can come in lots of different varieties, some good, some bad. I personally prefer a vanilla scent that isn't too overpoweringly sweet, but isn't heavily spicy either. I like vanilla to smell just like it does when you open a real vanilla pod and unfortunately a lot of vanilla scents can smell too heavily processed. I have the entire vanilla range from the Body Shop as my friend knew how I felt about the scent and bought me the whole lot for my birthday. This eau de toilette is incredibly strong and doesn't smell purely of vanilla. It has several levels, some a little spicy and some a little sweet. I feel this is a shame as when I'm buying a vanilla scent I really want it to smell of vanilla and nothing else. Too much of this scent would be heavily overpowering and not a pleasant experience for anyone nearby! The bottle is nicely simple. It's see through and the liquid is an amber colour which you can see very clearly in the bottle. This is helpful to establish how much you have remaining. The dispenser is a standard pump spray which makes it quite easy to tread carefully when layering on the product. All in all I'd say that this is a scent that some will love and some won't. I use it very occasionally, but if I'm meeting anyone who doesn't like vanilla then I steer well clear. However, I have a friend who loves vanilla and if I ever I use this product when out with him then he can't stop sniffing me, so clearly some people will absolutely love it!
The top notes of bergamot, coconut, apricot and strawberry create a fruity fragrance whilst vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk create a spicy and woody base note /
