The first time I used this perfume it was a gift to me from a family member. I'd tended to avoid perfumes from shops like next, as I always thought that they might not be much good due to being relatively cheap. So I was quite surprised when I tried this and actually quite liked it!
The smell is quite floral, and at first is quite strong. But I do think it is quite unique in how it smells. Then a kind of fruity scent comes through and I think I actually prefer this after the initial "blast" of floral has worn a little.
However, one huge problem is that the scent doesn't seem to last very long! Literally, an hour at most. I know that this is quite a keep perfumes, so is to be expected, but you would think that my perfume would still be intact by the time I got to work! So although the scent is lovely, it really doesn't last very long.
The packaging is really quite girly. It comes in a pink box with gold lettering and the bottle is again, pink, and cube shaped. The lid is gold, with a little pink ribbon. There was also a ribbon on the box when I bought (i think it was from the box anyway!) which I have now adding to my crafting supplies! :)
The price is reasonable, but as mentioned above, the scent really doesn't last long to justify how cheap it is. My bottle was about £6.25 from the Duty Free at Manchester Airport, for a 30ml bottle! This was ok, but I wouldn't have been very happy to pay much more than this t o be honest.
Overall, this product does have a nice scent, but I don't feel that it lasts long enough to bother with to be honest. It does have a nice, summery scent, but I don't think I will buy this product again.
I love a good bargain so when the Next sale comes around in the summer, I always like to get there early (4am) so I can kit the family out in summer clothes for the following year. When I finally get in the shop, I have a routine in which departments I go first, normally children''s, men''s and then the women''s section. Last year, I spotted this as part of a gift set and decided I would try it.
The fragrance is exclusive to Next and is available in store and online, you can also pick this up from EBay. Prices are around 12 pounds for a 75ml bottle and there are quite often gifts sets available with matching body lotion, all of which are prices quite reasonable too. Quite often in the sales, these set get reduced, we also have a Next Clearance near us which also sells these too.
The fragrance comes in a nice chunky square bottle, at the top of the bottle is a pink ribbon and it is stopped with a gold lid. I feel the bottle is quite simple yet I would say it has an expensive look to it. It comes in a nice pale pink box and I would say it has quite a girly look to it.
According to Next, the fragrance is described as ?A fresh green floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blooms'', like most fragrance descriptions I read, I have no idea what this is meant to smell like and at the time I purchased, I wasn''t able to test so I just hoped it would be nice, lucky for me, it was quite nice. Normally I am not a fan of floral fragrances, but this has quite a sweet undertone to it, upon first spray, the flowery notes are quite dominant, these quickly subside to make way for the fresh citrus fruits. One of the best things about this fragrance is that you don''t have to spray much to notice I am wearing.
I would describe the fragrance as one to wear in the summer due to how light and refreshing it is, the only downside of the fragrance is that it is quite sort lived, just a few hours after spraying; I feel the need to reapply. I don''t mind too much however as the cost is so cheap.
I quite like the fragrance, but I don''t think I would purchase again as its not one of my favourites. Despite this, I would recommend and it gets 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
I buy all my perfumes on the highstreet with the exception of my favourite two which are more expensive designer ones that I try and save for special occasions. I wear perfume every day and I don't think there is any need to spend a fortune on them when the highstreet has so many good ones which don't cost the earth.
Next have a couple of decent perfumes some of which are blatant copies of designer ones but unlike some cheap perfume which aim to smell like something else and end up failing and just smelling cheap the Next ones smell similar but also stand on their own too.
Just Pink is a perfume which at once smells like so many others but is also individual and perfect for those days when you want something that is light and not too complicated.
It is a floral scent but it isn't a heavy one and not at all cloying when on the skin. It isn't particularly complicated and complex in its make-up but it doesn't need to be really as it is a lovely but simple light floral perfume which isn't pretending to be anything other than what it is. It is a lovely and refreshing fragrance and probably aimed slightly younger than some of the other perfumes available in Next.
The perfume doesn't last very long which is unfortunate as I do find that I have to reapply it quite frequently. I also find that I am slightly heavier handed when applying this than I would be with some other perfumes as it is so light. I usually spray this probably double than I would with some other perfumes I own.
Because of how often it needs to be reapplied and because you need more than with other perfumes the bottle doesn't last as long as some but luckily it is so cheap so I don't mind using this more than I would with some more expensive ones. I don't buy this very often as I usually pick some up in the sales in a gift set with matching products but I think a bottle only costs something like £6.50.
This is a cheap but not cheap smelling perfume. It isn't going to blow your mind but it would be hard to dislike this perfume as it is perfectly pleasant and light enough for wearing during the day without overloading your nose.
Next Just Pink
I was bought this perfume by my auntie as a gift when I was a teenager and have worn it on and off since then. I've bought it myself a couple of times from Next as the price is so affordable at around £8 its one of those not-so-guilty treats compared to the price of my other favourite perfumes.
For me its a perfume I would only wear in the day time as its such a light, sweet fragrance. Saying that, he sweetness in this perfume is not sickly and it is in no way overpoweing, a few spritz' will last you all day. The main scent that stands out to me is fruity.
The bottle is clear glass and the perfume inside is pink in colour which gives it a very girly feeling. The bottle is long lasting and for the price you get quite a lot of ml for your money.
I would summarise Next Just Pink as a sweet, light, refreshing fragrance. Whilst I do think women of all ages could wear this is gives me a bit of a girlish feeling so it might not be for everyone, I'm not very girlish and I find its ok for me, couldn't wear any thing sweeter smelling than this one. It is a perfume you can wear year round and suitable for work, meetings, lunches, days out but not so much for night times out as I'd go for something with a heavier scent.
I think this makes a nice gift that won't break the bank.

I wasn't much of a girly girl when I was younger, but when I split up with my ex-husband I went through a very pink phase where I bought many pink clothes and I wasn't happier than when presented with something pink! Although I've calmed down a bit now, pink remains my favourite colour, and I had spotted the Just Pink toiletries in Next in the run-up to Christmas whilst looking for presents for people, and thought that they looked like lovely gift sets. I was very pleased and surprised on Christmas morning when I opened a Just Pink gift set from my sister-in-law's mum. The set comprised of body wash, finger and nail cream, shimmering body cream and perfume.
---Next Just Pink Eau de Toilette---
I just have a little 10ml bottle of this. It's a very cute heart-shaped bottle which sits on its side when put down - it has a slight pink hint to it. There is a silver screw cap which comes off easily but secures tightly. Being a little bottle there isn't a spray nozzle or anything like that, so you'll have to either just put the opened bottle on your wrist and tip up (carefully), and then spread around your wrists and onto your neck - or alternatively you could move it into another container with a spray. I think perhaps putting perfume on like this does have the potential to use too much, but as the scent isn't overpowering, it shouldn't matter too much, and since it's such good value it doesn't matter wasting a little bit!
---The smell and wearing it---
This has a very delicate floral scent. It's light and refreshing, and although I am wearing it now, I think it'll be even nicer in the Spring and Summer. I think that it's a scent suitable for most ages, although perhaps more suited to the 25s and over. It is a floral smell, however it's not an old lady smell - I don't think so anyway!
I find that having applied the scent first thing in the morning, I can still detect it at the end of the day, which is a good thing. I have to admit that no one has yet commented on my scent whilst wearing it (this has only happened with my DKNY perfume), but I don't take offence, and I haven't worn it that often. The main thing is that I can smell it on myself, and it makes me smile. To be honest I think as it's quite natural smelling, it blends into my skin really. When I use the matching products as well the smell becomes more noticeable, but I rarely have time for body shimmers and things like that on a weekday morning, and I haven't yet opened the body wash!
---Price and final thoughts---
You can purchase a 30ml bottle for £6.50 and amazingly a 75ml bottle for just £10 (there is also an Eau de Parfum which costs ever so slightly more - I'm not sure what the difference is). Ok, so it's not a designer brand or anything. However, it's a very nice scent, and I do think I might buy a bottle when I've finished my little one (although I have to say it's lasting very well since I mostly use CK One for everyday use, and DKNY Be Delicious - both reviewed already - for when I'm feeling special)!
I would recommend this, and think that if you're buying people smelly stuff for Christmas or other occasions, then providing they like pink things, then this is not a bad (and reasonably priced) gift idea. It's a good everyday scent. 4 out of 5 stars!
Next Just Pink
On February 14th I gave Just Pink to my partner as a gift because I know she likes perfumes. It looked so delicate and feminine in the box - I couldn't resist, it reminded me of her. Well, she can never have enough perfumes so I've been told, so I knew my partner would enjoy it. It was fun watching her un-ravel the feminine box and I knew straight away it was a good choice. Anyway, I always get her perfume on this special day.
Next tend to have a wide variety of perfumes for all occasions - being a man, I have been known to ask for assistance to usually get the better deal. I didn't realize how many Next brand perfumes there were until I searched through the brands available. And I do not usually opt for a Next brand of perfume as I tend to choose Chanel, Ghost, or Mugler's Angel; these are scents that suit my partner of coming up to six years. It isn't unusual to find me at the homeware section on a Sunday looking for bargains, which I've found are few and far between I may add.
Whether this scent is for a special someone or for just a friend the delicate floral notes are very refreshing. The concoction of fruitiness and floral is the right balance, not too harsh, not too soft, just right. The description says: 'a fresh young feminine scent that consists of fresh green, fruity and floral notes.' I'm aware of; citrussy mandarin - peach freesia, delicate rose, jasmine tea, lily of the valley and unmistakably the scent of wild orchid floods through. Altogether a non offensive scent. The cute 'Just Pink' light pink bow is an endearment on the neck of the heart-shaped glass - Presented perfectly in a delicate feminine clear glass which looks thin but is a rather thick glass; perhaps a bit deceptive, so it is more robust than originally thought. This isn't a bad thing, just in case you are accident prone which my partner is at times if she is in a rush or distracted in anyway. The non offensive packaging is very girly, curvy, and sits on a surface at a slant. It gives an odd optical illusion if you see through the delicately pinky glass, and makes you quite squiffy. Along with the feminine box which accompanies the perfume the ergonometric box is uncomplicated and opens out as if a traditional book - a lovely touch from Next, giving the impression of a fairy fantasy. Ralph Lauren 'Romance'; and SJP's 'Lovely' eat your heart out.
How Much Did I Pay?
Available for everyone who pop instore or go online to seek out Next's online offers: a 30 ml bottle is 6.50 GBP and can be worn night and day. My partner prefers to wear it in the daytime as she claims it is summery, which is her favourite time of the year and it is noticeable that her mood lifts whenever she wears it. 'Just Pink' compliments her floral scarf too.
Being a male, I've never actually worn the fragrance - but I'm able to smell it just as well as my partner who certainly likes my choice. What is a big plus is the freshness of the scent and as an EDT I pleasantly surprised it isn't too heavy - a light fragrance is for daytime usage so by the evening 'Just Pink' becomes a slight reminder - just the middle notes remaining. My partner certainly wears scents to please me so even though I do not wear the feminine scents I'm the decision maker when it comes to purchasing the perfumes. Men buy perfumes more than women do and often have the last word.
I enjoy the fruitiness of the citrussy scent on initial application - the mandarins are very noticeable and they're quite succulent, these are the first notes that you notice. My partner has been known to overpower me with her amorous spraying in the past but she has been remarkably careful to not over-do it when it comes to 'Just Pink' - she's not one for being too fruity in the daytime. A delicate floral theme is preferred - after the sharp smell of mandarin comes the floral scent which gives her a longer lasting scent overall, the undertone is the general signature to the scent - this is wear the freesia and rose step in and provide the durability of the aroma. No simple aroma was made in seven sprays. Wait two hours for the true essence of the scent signature. The problem with 'Just Pink' the signature undertone appears to have dispersed within four hours and so requires a re-application halfway through the day, the scent gradually fades off as twilight descends.
Next's 'Just Pink' is a pleasant enough scent - aimed for the active youthful female who is truly girly who goes gooey at cute puppies. 'Just Pink's' light pink ribbon is that cute. And therefore it is easy to wake-up and go gooey at the pink ribbon and spray on the EDT. Very non offensive. Light, delicately floral with an initial fruity introduction that wakes you from your dreamy state but altogether dies off before twilight - is notably refreshing and doesn't dominate the whole of the day - worth a try - especially the 30 ml one.
My best friend of 24 years knows how much I love trying out new perfumes. We had a giggle on Christmas Day when she opened her present from us to reveal one of my favourite perfumes - Britney Midnight Fantasy. In return, I was pleased to open my present which revealed a bottle of one of her favourite perfumes - Next Just Pink. I suppose we will never be disappointed by the lack of perfumes on offer when visiting each other!
I can't say that I have ever sampled the Next fragrances prior to receiving my bottle of Just Pink. It isn't a store that I visit often as I find them to be overpriced (for clothing/homeware etc). As well as stocking a range of designer perfumes, Next also offer several own branded perfumes including 'Eau Nude' and 'New York'.
Just Pink is described as being 'a fresh green floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blooms'. It is available in an eau de toilette. The fragrance notes in the perfume are said to include mandarin, peach, freesia, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley and wild orchid.
Just Pink is presented in a large, thick glass bottle. The glass is clear allowing the pink tinted perfume to be visible. A chunky clear lid and ribbon completes the look. The bottle is curvy and will only sit at a slant on a flat surface. The bottle is placed within a pretty pink, cardboard box which opens up like a book. I like the bottle but don't find it to sit steady so opt to keep it in its box. The overall design is simple, girly and pretty.
~Price and Availability~
Just Pink EDT is available in a 75ml size. It can be bought from www.next.co.uk or instore priced at £10.00.
I was pleased to receive this as a gift. It is a relatively cheap but well presented perfume and in my opinion, aimed at younger wearers as a light yet floral fragrance. Just Pink is a pleasant enough perfume to wear. Being an eau de toilette, it is light and generally a daytime fragrance as opposed to one which I would choose to wear for a special occasion.
I find a few sprays on my neck and wrist more than sufficient to give a pleasant level of scent on my skin and clothing. Too little and there isn't enough scent to be noticeable. Too much and the scent appears cheap and overpowering. It is important to get the balance right to get the most from Just Pink EDT.
The first spray of Just Pink settles on my skin to reveal a light, fruity aroma. The mandarin is the predominant note and is quite juicy and refreshing. The scent is quite subtle but still noticeable. The fruity notes start to disappear quite quickly and the entire scent changes to a light floral aroma which reminds me of delicate flowers. I'm not crazy for floral scents but appreciate the light, green feel that the floral notes in Just Pink offer. It gives the perfume a fresh feel which makes it ideal for warmer days. The freesia is noticeable with hints of rose but the other floral notes merge together and form a fresh but quite generic undertone.
After two hours or so, the main floral notes are still noticeable and the scent remains light and feminine. There isn't much more to the scent. Unlike other scents where the scent changes between the heart notes and base notes, Just Pink remains simply floral until the last hint of aroma starts to fade from my skin at a gradual pace. I can't notice Just Pink after 3 hours of wear.
Just Pink is a nice enough scent to wear but is far from being a special scent to me. It is a basic perfume which isn't overly unique but very versatile and easy to wear in my opinion. It is light but fragrant. It doesn't last all that long but given the price of a 75ml bottle, it is cheap enough to top up a few times through the day. It isn't one which I favour over my more expensive perfumes but it is nice to wear as a change. I can see me getting most use out of it during the Summer when a heavier fragrance may be a little much.
Thanks for reading :)
Next do some good value perfumes but I always think after smelling them that they have a slight cheapness to them and are more suited to younger girls than grown women. This is just my opinion of course but I do think that the perfumes on offer usually smell like cheaper versions of some more expensive brands.
Just pink is a perfectly pleasant smelling perfume that I think smells a lot like another perfume that I like but I just can't put my finger on what it is. The perfume is a floral smelling one and is really girly. This isn't something which I mind but some people will really not like its floaty and feminine smell.
I got a bottle of this for Christmas and it was quickly snaffled by my daughter who knows that I am not overly keen on Next perfumes having tried some before. This is actually a lot nicer than the other ones that I have tried but it is still not great.
It smells really artificial to me and I can definitely notice the difference between this and my designer perfumes. It is a bit too strong when I first spray it but it soon becomes much more subtle and nicer and not quite as loud.
When my daughter wears it I can smell her coming in to a room but she does tend to overdo it with the application of perfumes. When I tried it a couple of squirts was all that I needed however it does fade really quickly and within a few hours it has pretty much gone entirely from my skin.
It is a shame that I didn't like this all that much as I would love to find a much cheaper range of perfumes that I liked. It is a perfectly pleasant floral perfume but nothing special and I do think it smells a bit cheap when compared with my other floral perfumes. It doesn't last nearly as long either probably due to having cheaper ingredients in it.
The biggest thing that this perfume has going for it is that it is really cheap. You can pick up a large 75ml bottle of this for only £10 which I think is a bargain for a big bottle of perfume. Teenagers seem to really love it as my daughter says all her friends love it on her. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me.
I received a bottle of Next Just Pink perfume for Christmas and although it was a nice gift its probably not something I would have bought for myself. Call me a snob but I really do prefer posh expensive perfumes from designer perfume or clothing houses as I think that most of the time they are of much better quality and design and are a nicer fragrance but as this was a gift I was glad to receive it and willing to try the perfume.
The bottle of perfume is quite pretty. It comes in a cool looking clear glass bottle. This bottle is almost in the shape of a chart in my opinion although its not quite as heart shaped as a proper heart. The bottle sits at an angle and slants to one side so its a interesting perspective. There is a stopper cap at the top of the bottle which comes off to reveal a spray top function which is how you apply the perfume. There is also a little pink ribbon wrapped around the top of the bottle with the words Just Pink written on it. IT came packaged in a nice pink gift box so I think initially on first look and glance the perfume is a nice one. My bottle is the 75ml bottle. It was a gift but I saw in store that this costs just £10. I think that is a really good price if you are wanting to buy a nice gift for someone and compared to other perfumes its a really good price too as you can expect to pay upwards of £30-£40+ for designer perfumes these days.
Next say that this perfume is a fresh green floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blooms. Its hard to explain exactly what it smells like as its unlike a fragrance I have used before. Its got a nice fresh smell and is not a heavy musky perfume in my opinion. You can definitely smell a sweet fruity/floral smell but its not too overpowering or sickly which is nice. I really only use this fragrance as a day perfume and as a perfume that I spray on when I am not really dressing up or wanting to look particularly nice. Its just a perfume I wear for everyday wear, doing errands etc to have some sort of smell on rather than nothing at all.
I find the smell doesn't really last all day and after a few hours I can hardly smell it so I would say it doesn't have the staying power of other more expensive fragrances that I use. Thats fine for me as I just use it on and off but I think other people would be somewhat disappointed with this.
All in all this is a nice fragrance for use now and again during the day.
I first became introduced to this perfume after my mum bought some from our local Next store. And funnily enough she had done so after a woman who came into work had introduced her to the lovely fragrance.
One day I decided to take a spritz and since then I have never turned back! It has a feminine and sexy scent which has impressed many whilst I've been wearing it. It never fails to gain compliments from men and women alike, my ex boyfriend's mum always used to hug me and say 'ooo, that beautiful beautiful perfume you wear, smells gorgous'.
One of the biggest pluses of this fragrance is the price. I purchased my enitial small bottle for £6.99 and the larger bottles for around £12.00 so they are certainly not going to leave you out of pocket and for such a beautiful original fragrance its worth it!
The only downfall I have.found with this perfume is that the scent does not last the whole day and weakens quickly. I tend to carry a smaller bottle on my person or in my car and refresh the scent at intervals during the day but when a perfume is this cheap, you don't mind using a little more.
At present, Just Pink can be purchased in a heart shape bottle with a pink ribbon tied around the pretty plastic lid. An advantage with this perfume is that you can also buy other products from the same line including body spray and moistuiser.
I am utterly impressed with Just Pink eau de toilette and I shall continue to use it for as long as I can as I have yet to find a superior alternative.
Just pink...Well, well, well. I have been using this perfume on and off for a good few years now. In between time I do test others that are on the market but I can never find anything that is as good and unique as this one. You would think that with it being Next it would be very well known, but a lot of people have asked me what fragrance I am wearing and they have all said they expected it to be something like Chanel or Christian Dior. Just Pink has been around for years and it has seen makeover after makeover...
As you can see from the image above, this is one version of Just Pink. Next have actually changed the bottle once again from this and it is now in the shape of a love heart, which is very fun and girly, matching the whole aroma of this product. I would say that this perfume is aimed at the younger generation , for the simple fact that it is in a love heart shape and it has quite a fresh mild scent.
If I was to try and describe this fragrance I would say its light, slightly floral and extremely fresh. This is the perfume you love lingering on your clothing, the fresh washing powder smell that wafts around making everyone ooo and aaaa!
This perfume is a bargain and for this time of year, it makes a great Christmas present! For 75ml you can pay £10.00 which really is amazing. You could not even walk into Boots and pick a good perfume up for that price. This is fun and fresh, sticks to your clothes and is definitely worthwhile. Go quick before everybody wants it!
I am a huge fan of my fragrances and I wear perfume on a daily basis. Being a student, I can not afford my unhealthy addiction to beauty products, therefore I often look out for budget fragrances in addition to my higher end collection. I had heard many good things about Next Just Pink EDT, and considering I had always been impressed with Next's collection of perfumes in the past, I thought it was worth picking this one up.
The first thing which attracted me to this perfume was the price. I managed to get a whopping 100ml worth of perfume for a tiny £6.00 price tag which is incredible. It was labelled in the store as £12.00 which is the actual retail price (and still very cheap may I add), yet when it was scanned through the till at sale time it was reduced to half price. I feel that this is an excellent value to be paying for a decently branded perfume so I was over the moon with my little find. Even if you are interested in purchasing this at full price it is still an excellent bargain! I have seen it available in 30ml sizes, 75ml as well as 100ml so there really is something for everyone.
The price you pay for this particular perfume can depend on the shape in which you get them. I am unsure if they regularly change the bottle of this perfume as it has been around for a good few years now, but the one I purchased was quite tall and rectangular in shape, however there was also some on display which were an odd design and was curved, allowing the bottle to slant to the side. Another version I have seen it in is shown in the image to this review, in quite a feminine little bottle. With my particular purchase being 100ml and a huge rectangular bottle, I think it is best for keeping at home and displaying rather than lugging it around with you in your bag as it can take up quite a lot of room, as well as being unnecessary extra weight.
Another thing I must point out which I was rather impressed with was the packaging of the bottle. It comes in a lovely decorative pink box which I have kept for storing jewellery and little bits and bobs that do not really have a home, however due to this packaging with a little bow around it, it could also make a lovely gift for somebody as well as a treat for yourself.
Ultimately the most important thing when purchasing a fragrance is the scent of it. Next describe their Just Pink perfume as "a fresh green floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blossoms". I personally had not read this before purchasing as I just tried out one of their testers which was displayed within the store, however it is very true to the scent of this perfume. It is definitely quite a feminine, sweet fragrance which I have to admit is right up my street. However, it is not a sickly sweet and definitely in no way overpowering like many girly fragrances can appear. Just Pink however is quite a subtle, ladylike fragrance which is very floral and fruity. Upon my first few sprays of it I did put it down to being quite a 'grandma scent' and a bit old fashioned for me, however once the initial scent had died down it was extremely lovely and quite a pretty scent which is perfect for the summer. I do have to recommend this as a daytime perfume, as it is not strong enough for night time use, however I see it as quite a budget perfume to wear on a daily basis if I am running errands or doing the shopping, or even if I am just going to work. This is because I still want to smell lovely, yet I do not want to be getting through bottles of Versace perfume at £50.00 at a time as this can become quite expensive.
Although an extremely lovely, subtle fragrance there was an overall hugely negative point about Just Pink for me, and this was its staying power. As it is quite a gentle fragrance, I was not expecting it to linger on clothing and skin for hours and hours, however the smell starts to disappear within around an hour or two of application which is quite disappointing, and it does constantly need reapplying for people around you to notice the scent. I was aware that there was going to be a catch with it being priced so cheaply, however I still do not see it as too much of a problem, and for the bargain price at which I got this perfume, I am willing to see past this.
However, on the note of its poor staying power, it is important that I do not urge you to buy this perfume if you are looking for a strong, long lasting scent as it is worth investing in something of a little higher quality. However, for a spritz here and there that is a bit more long lasting than body spray, I would definitely have to recommend Next Just Pink, and so far it has been my staple scent of this summer.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this scent from Next, and I continue to be impressed with their own branded range of fragrances. I have to recommend this fragrance to all who love their girly scents, and I would suggest going in to the store as they display a range of testers for you to try out the perfume before you buy. An excellent budget perfume, perfect for those with money worries at the moment, as well as being a lovely, thoughtful gift for someone without breaking the bank. I am going to award this with four stars as it is definitely great value for money, however its poor staying power really does let it down unfortunately. Thanks for reading.
My sister in law loves going to the Next sale so one thing I am often certain of for gifts is something she has picked up on one of these forays. She also knows I love perfume so often she buys me several of their perfumes for me to try. One of her latest buys for my birthday was Just Pink.
Next frequently change the format of the boxes I think but the box I received was a clear fronted box with the perfume bottle visible and a pink backing to the box. The bottle itself is clear the 100ml eau de toilette that I have is slightly curved towards the top with a squashed octagonal top. The rear of the bottle has embossed on it various pretty pink flowers that give the bottle a lovely pink tinge to it. Whilst the bottle is not something special like a Marc Jacobs bottle it is not ugly either and in a lot of ways sums up the perfume as it is light and girly but not anything special or out of the ordinary. The atomizer works well on all the bottles that I have had and gives a lovely fine mist of a spray that is easy to direct.
Despite a few Internet searches I can't actually find any perfume notes on this fragrance to tell me what I should be looking out for in the scent. Next market Just Pink as a green fresh floral. However depending on the day and the weather I can pick up any of the following:
Mandarin, freesia and peach, lily of the valley, rose, jasmine and wild orchid.
Generally on first spritz of the fragrance what I do notice is a bit of a harsh alcohol smell. But this soon disperses and the main scent that I am left with is freesia. Now this is one of my favorite flowers so much so I had some in my wedding bouquet so this always brings pleasant and happy memoirs to my mind when I smell this scent at the beginning. This seems then to mingle with the peach notes to give it a fruity edge to it. This isn't so fruity that you smell like fruit salad though but more of a peach Bellini cocktail scent. As these dry down within about 15-30 minutes I then notice a more lily of the valley scent that is seems to be completed by the orchid notes. This to me reminds me of walking around hot houses in country estates with all the orchids on display and this I actually find to be quite an intoxicating and sensual smell that I think lifts this scent from being merely pleasant to a nice layering of scents. On really hot days I will also notice the jasmine and this to me a nice light scent rather than a heavy jasmine like Yankee Candles Midnight Jasmine candles. The scent is quiet delicate and not over powering in any way.
The longevity of this perfume I find is the bit that actually lets this scent down as I fail to notice any lingering perfume notes after around 4 hours and need to reapply this then. Now whether this is due to the essences used in this perfume being of a cheaper and inferior quality to some of the designer scents I like such as Chanel and L'Occitane I don't know but it is a scent I find that needs to be reapplied during the day.
This scent with its light notes I think is a good perfume for the day and hot summer days as it isn't too over powering and is a good work day scent when you want something nice but that isn't going to overwhelm you colleagues.
I think this perfume is in a lot of ways trying to be Next's version of Ralph Laurens romance and whilst I personally notices a lot of similarities I don't think this scent has the same degree of lasting abilities as Romance does and nor does Romance have the alcohol smell at the beginning.
This is a lovely fresh scent that I would recommend for summer days and the office when you want something nice and light. The freesia and peach notes complement one another well and the mixture of the lily and orchid as the middle notes gives this fragrance a romantic and sensual style. At around £10 for a 75 ml bottle this is a perfume that can be splashed around with girly abandon with out to much worry about the pennies. Its only drawback is its lack of staying power but due to the price I don't mind reapplying this in the day.
I received the Just Pink perfume that is exclusive to the fashion shop Next in what they call the "just pink heart fragrance gift" for my birthday in March (It seems that everyone knows about my addiction to perfume now). Recently I cracked this gift open as I was in desperate need of body cream with which this box so luckily included.
My box included:
Just Pink Fragrance 30ml
Just Pink Shower Wash 75ml
Just Pink Body cream 75ml
Just Pink Bath crystals
The reason I had not opened this present earlier was that (having received a bottle of 'Just Pink' for a present years before) I knew myself to be not enamoured by the scent of this particular fragrance.
Next describes the scent as:
A fresh, green, floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blooms.
(I suppose just Green did not sound as pretty...)
This is not a particularly exciting fragrance but it's one that suits everyday occasions and s not too over powerful. I definitely agree with the Next description that this is a fresh scent. Making this perfume the perfect scent, for everyday wear, especially during the summer months.
As I got this as a birthday present I'm not sure of how much it cost at the time, however after a sneaky nose on the Next website I found the box to be selling at £12. This is a lovely way to give this scent to a person as a gift as it includes not only the fragrance but the bath products as well.
However if you just wanted to give the perfume for a gift (or in fact buy it for yourself) then you could purchase a bottle of this pretty scent from any Next store or on their website for:
100ml: £12 (same price as the gift set)
I am not sure if they sell smaller sizes separately as they do not advertise a bottle below the content of 75ml on their website.
WOULD I RECOMMEND?:
This is a very good scent if you want a simple classic smell that you can wear day in day out. I guess that's way they called it "Just Pink" as it to me is a perfume to be worn for occasions where you just want to smell pretty and not stand out.
I do like this scent but find it to be no competition when compared to my favourite scents such as DKNY Delicious Night, Very Wang Princess and Juicy Couture Viva La juicy (all of which I have reviewed on here). Just Pink doesn't have the wow factor for me that these other perfumes do, it seems to be lacking in something. The scent is very pleasant but doesn't make me feel like I need to own it (I know this is not the feeling most people get when smelling perfume but for self-confessed perfume addicts like me, this is a big factor!).
I think my attitude towards this perfume may be that as I received this when I was a young teenager I have this view in my mind that it is for 13 year olds. Don't get me wrong, I know older people use this scent but it is stuck in my mind as a teenagers scent.
This is why I would definitely recommend this fragrance to young teenagers as a way of introducing them almost to perfume, it has a light scent that is not too over whelming and so they do not have to worry about over use.
I received this (thee first time) as a gift from my grandmother at around the age of 14 I guess, and I absolutely loved it (at the time) and so I have no problem recommending it as the perfect gift to give to your young daughter or grand-daughter.
This would also make a great gift for those women you know who likes a delicate and subtle scent.
I am not that impressed with this scent as I find it to be a little boring. However, I think it is the perfect bottle to carry around in your handbag during the day for daily spritzes and top-ups of perfume. As it is cheaper than most it is ideal for this purpose as you don't feel the need to be sparing and can be as liberal with the scent as you like or need.
I will give this product three out of five stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
When shopping for perfume, Next isn't really the first place that springs to mind. It was only really when I received a bottle of their Just Pink perfume as a gift that I realised that their range even extended to fragrance. It has since become one of my favourite day/work wear fragrances.
I received a bottle of 100ml, which looking online retails at £12. It comes in a simple glass bottle in a pretty pink box (looking online the packaging seems to have been modernised since I received my bottle). It is easy to apply with a silver squirty applicator which is easily compressed and gives good distribution of the fragrance of the application area.
The Eau de Toilette is a very pale pink in colour and a clear transparency. The scent is very floral and feminine, with a dominant blossom smell that reminds me of spring time. It apparently contains some fruity notes too, but to me it just smells floral, I cannot detect any fruitiness at all. It is a light and refreshing scent and quite subtle too, though not so subtle that you won't remember that you're wearing it!
You do need to apply a fair amount of the fragrance to be able to detect it on you, and it will last for a few hours - not all day as most, more expensive, perfume would. However, as it is quite a cheap fragrance I don't mind doing this and keep the bottle in my handbag. I would say that this is more of a scent for daywear as it is so light and summery, I prefer a more dramatic fragrance for a night out.
This was a lovely gift to receive - it also comes as part of a gift set in Next which would be ideal for a birthday or Christmas present. I would say that the scent would probably appeal to women of all ages too, so it is very versatile - I know women of various ages that like to wear this. I would definitely recommend it as a good purchase if you like floral scents.
