I recieved this perfume as part of a gift set last Christmas. I have the 30ml bottle but it's also available in two larger sizes - 50ml and 75ml. It is very widely available and Tesco, Boots and various other shops sell it. As I didn't buy mine I'm not sure how much it was but after looking online I can see that a 30ml bottle retails at around the £20.00 mark, although online retailers such as Amazon and discount perfume shops are selling it for quite a lot less and a bottle can be bought for as little as £14.00. Although this is quite a cheap/mid-range perfume, it does smell quite cheap and average and I will not be buying another bottle of it once I've used all of mine - I do like it but it's very generic in my opinion. As my perfume came as part of a gift set, mine didn't come in the proper perfume box and instead it came in a rectangular gift box with a clear lid with a pink and black colourscheme. The sturdy glass perfume bottle itself is pretty basic - it's not particularly pretty or unusual apart from the subtle colour effect finish, but it still looks nice on my dressing table. It's short and quite wide with a black lid and writing on the front simply saying 'Kyle Minogue Darling'. Darling is written in handwriting style writing which I think is a nice touch and the bottle design overall is nice and simplistic. This fragrance is described as being an oriental floral scent for ladies who want a sophisticated floral scent to wear when going out. Personally, I wear this during the day and don't think that it is the best fragrance to wear when I'm going somewhere special as rather than being sophisticated as it is described it's quite a sweet, floral scent which is like a perfume version of 'So...?' body spray if that makes sense and I definitely wouldn't describe it as being sophisticated - despite the muskiness, it's quite a young and playful summer scent in my opinion. Other words used to describe it in the product description are captivating, sensual, evocative, enticing, glamorous and rich. I wouldn't describe it as any of those, personally - it's a nice, basic sweet and floral scent with a little musk and spiciness. The top notes are passion fruit, freesia and lychee while the heart notes include lily and boronia. The base notes consist of sandalwood, vanilla and amberwood. When I first spray a little of it onto my neck and wrists it smells quite sickly sweet and the passion fruit is definitely the most prominent smell. The sweetness remains but becomes less sickly after a while as a little muskiness comes through, complimenting the floral notes and balancing the fragrance out. The vanilla becomes more and more noticeable over time - I do like vanilla but it can tend to become easily overpowering but the subtle spiciness prevents this. I can't quite put my finger on what the spicy scent is as it's very subtle and can easily become overpowered by the floral notes. The scent overall is very girly, fresh, sweet & floral. It lasts for around four hours before it's almost completely gone but it lingers on my clothing for a little longer. Overall, this is a pleasant fragrance, if a little generic and it's not very long lasting. I give it three out of five stars.
I received this perfume as a gift for my birthday a few years ago after I saw it advertised and I have to admit I still have half a bottle left! It is a pretty bottle shape and nice pinky colour but I was not too keen on the big black top. It is a very sweet, almost cute smell to it and one which is pleasant to wear and smell. However, I did become quite sick of it quickly and grew out of it also quite quickly. In my opinion this is quite a young person's perfume - even though it is by Kylie Minogue. I think there are better perfumes on the market now and would not buy this perfume myself. But I would say it is good for the price you pay for it, maybe just not my preference in perfume! I would recommend trying before buying!
Kylie Minogue 'Darling' Eau de Toilette I received this fragrance as a gift last august for my birthday and this the second bottle of this fragrance I have received. I have nearly finished this bottle so I thought it was time to write a review; a mini review of this product is already posted on my blog. - Product description (from amazon.co.uk) "Everybody's darling. Kylie Minogue launches her very first fragrance. Sensational singer, successful businesswoman, her universal appeal makes her a role model, a global icon that transcends borders and age groups. Sensual, sweet, seductive, strong, glamorous and delicate in equal measures, Kylie is irresistible. Kylie's outstanding qualities are reflected in one fabulous fragrance. An evocative, enticing essence called Darling, representing the richness, sensuality and glamour that is Kylie Minogue." - Information about the product The perfume is one of many fragrances from Kylie Minogue; I believe there are now five fragrances that she has created. I think 'Darling' was the, or one of the, original fragrances. This perfume comes in a range of sizes but I have the 75ml eau de toilette version - I don't think this fragrance is available as an eau de parfum unfortunately. - Bottle The bottle is clear although the glass does have a fairly unique finish - it looks like petrol, where you have a mix of green, blue purple and gold, which does look really quite nice in my opinion and it makes the bottle look a bit expensive. Although the black plastic angular cap looks really cheap and it does scratch really quite easily too, which also makes this bottle look cheaper. I like some aspects of this bottle and others I really do not like. The overall design of the bottle is ok and it is fairly unique but the cheap black cap with its scratches makes the product look cheap overall, in my opinion. - Perfume notes Top notes: Passion fruit, Freesia, Lychee The top notes of a perfume are the lighter molecules of the fragrance that evaporate first so these notes are the ones you smell first. The top notes do not usually last long, and then the middle/heart notes appear. On the perfumes website the top notes are described as: 'a sensuous bouquet of heady, sparkling yet sweet top notes of Passion fruit, Freesia and Lychee.' Middle/heart notes: Lily, Boronia The middle/heart notes are heavier molecules of fragrance and the middle notes are the main component of the fragrance. The middle notes in this fragrance are described thusly (from the Kylie Minogue fragrance website): 'the heart is brimming with a delicate, feminine floral blend of lily and Boronia.' Base notes: Sandalwood, Amberwood, Vanilla The base notes are the heaviest fragrance molecules and are only present towards the end of the perfumes longevity. The base notes in this fragrance are described as: 'the base notes project the sensual, enveloping essences of Sandalwood, Amberwood and Vanilla.' - Scent The scent initially when you spray it is really nice; it is not what I expected from the description of the top notes but it is nice. The initial scent, top notes, it quite floral and sweet although there is a definite musky scent to the initial fragrance when first sprayed. I did not expect the musky notes to emerge yet but there is definitely a mix of sweet florals and musky notes initially. This mix of sweet florals and musky notes is basically the whole fragrance and it only gets muskier as time passes. I like musky fragrances but this one is a little bit too musky for me to like a lot. The sweet florals and the part of this fragrance that I like the most as they are fresh, summery and feminine but the musky notes make this scent a bit less likeable - for me anyway. The initial scent is really quite generic in my opinion as a floral but musky fragrance is nothing new although overall I think this fragrance is nice. After about an hour the muskier notes come through and the vanilla is really the only note I can detect, which is great for me as I love the scent of vanilla. The vanilla is noticeable at the initial spray too and it is one of the main scents. The main notes I can personally detect throughout the fragrance is the vanilla, Lily and Freesia - with the passion fruit adding a bit of sweetness. In summary, the fragrance initially is sweet, floral and unmistakably musky. Then the fragrance gets muskier and the sweetness dissipates quickly leaving vanilla as one of the main notes throughout this fragrance. - Longevity and strength The strength of this fragrance is at its peak when the fragrance has been sprayed and for about half an hour after being sprayed the fragrance it quite noticeable - but not really strong or overwhelming. The strength and noticeability of this fragrance quickly fades and the fragrance is not very noticeable after about three or so hours and after about four hours the fragrance is hardly noticeable on the skin. The fragrance lasts on the skin longer than it lasts on clothing - on my clothing this fragrance is lucky to last an hour or so. The strength of this scent overall is poor and the longevity is the same. The longevity of this scent is poor, in my opinion and it fragrance only lasts for a maximum of five hours (and I am being a bit generous when I state five hours - I usually only get about three/four hours of wear from this fragrance). - Price and availability The price of this fragrance in my opinion is good and it is priced at: £10 for a 50ml on amazon.co.uk, £13 for a 75ml bottle on cheapsmells.co.uk (a great site - recommended), £10 for a 30ml bottle on boots.com and £18.99 for a 30ml gift set from Superdrug. Other Kylie Minogue fragrances include: sweet darling, sexy darling, couture, pink sparkle, dazzling darling and showtime. Conclusions Positives *Petrol-like finish on the glass bottle *Good price, in my opinion *Scent overall is really nice - mainly subtle sweet florals and vanilla/musks Negatives *Cheap looking bottle/packaging overall - lid scratches fairly easily *Scent strength is poor and is hardly noticeable after about four hours overall *Scent longevity is also poor and it only lasts for about four hours on average Thank you for reading my review (a shorter review of this product is on my blog - ofbeautyandnothingness.blogspot.com)
My mum often buys me a variety of perfumes for Christmas. She usually buys me an expensive one, my everyday one and then something different to try. We often share perfumes so she usually picks something that we both like. One christmas, she bought me Kylie Minogue's first perfume. At first I was sceptical. I am not a big fan of celebrity perfumes and have often found them to be of lesser quality than non celebrity endorsed perfumes. I have to say though that I was more than pleasently surprised with this one. Fragrance: This frangrance is a lot less floral than the perfumes that I usually wear so it is a nice and noticable change for me when I wear this. I would suggest that a woman in her late twenties to early thirties would be able to wear this as an everyday perfume as it smells less girly and more sophisticated than many on the market. The notes in the perfume are: Top notes - passion fruit, freesia, lychee Heart notes- lily and boronia Bottom notes- Sandlewood, amberwood and vanilla This perfume does linger for a good number of hours, although I would recommend that you reapply it after a few hours if you do not want its effects to disappear. It does however cling to fabrics brilliantly, leaving them smelling lovely all day, long afte the perfume has worn off my own skin. I usually apply my perfume just before I head out the door in the morning and then reapply it in the late afternoon, giving me an extra boost as I can notice my perfume whilst I am working. Appearance: Althought I think that this perfume is very different from other celebrity perfumes, I wish that I could say the same thing about the box and the bottle. The box is just like every other celebrity perfume, and is thin and flimsy. I appreciate the colours used on the box, but it looks like something they sell in discount stores rather than something that screams "wear this to be like kylie!". I like the shape and style of the bottle. It is easy to hold in my hand and the lid is a good size too. The colours used on the bottle match those used on the box. The lid is black plastic, but the attempt at using similar colours from the box on the glass bottle just makes it look as though it has been involved in an oil spill. As the glass is transparent though, it does allow you to see how much perfume you have left, so you know when to replace it. Cost: A bottle of Kylie Minogue:Darling can be purchased for around £10. There are usually some great offers in places such as Boots, Superdrug, Body Care and online, so hunt around for the best deal. Overall, I think that this perfume is great value for money. It is a strong, noticable scent that lasts a long time and will suprise people when you tell them that it is a celebrity perfume. Gift sets that include shower gel and body lotion usually appear around christmas time, so if you are a fan of the scent it is worth investing in one of those for a layered scent.
I always associate celebrity and "pop star" perfumes with the younger generation for some reason, however, this one doesn't belong in that category! The packaging, well the bottle, does look quite youthful though (but don't let that fool you). I was given a sample of this perfume as I wasn't sure whether I would like it or not going by my first impression. I was glad that I never purchased the full bottle. The perfume smells far too "granny" for my liking. The notes come together to deliver a VERY mature smelling perfume. I really don't like this scent as it's aimed at the more mature generation as opposed to the younger generation (I suppose Kylie does appeal to all ages though). My first impression of this scent was "Ew!", it's just awful! There is a good thing about this scent though, it's very long lasting. As soon as you smell it you are hit by STRONG floral notes and hints of musky notes. I like musk as a rule but Kylie has combined it with the wrong notes so that the musk is overshadowed by stronger floral notes. The scent settles down and starts to smell more musky, which I like, it's just the initial smell of it that I hate and that's the reason why I won't be buying the full bottle. I know that i'll never wear this perfume again as i'm far too embarrassed to wear it, sorry Kylie. I'm 26, I don't want to smell 86. I will if I wear this! Not the best perfume on the market, unless you like more mature perfumes.
I first came across this perfume at a friends house when I spotted it in a her bathroom. I know that this may sound narrow minded but I have always associated perfumes that are created by popstars to be aimed at a younger teenage market and was surprised at my thirty year old friend to be owning such a product. But being a lover of perfume I was intrigued and asked my friend if I could try a squirt to satisfy my curiousity. After applying a small amount on my wrist, I was actually surprised at how 'un-girly' this smelt. Not what I was expecting at all. It's richness and depth gives it a sophisticated feel and I was immediately impressed. Two months on I spotted this perfume in Superdrug on special offer at £19.99 for 50ml. This was a bargain compared to it's usual £30 price tag so I couldn't resist in trying some for myself. The packaging is simple but effective. The fragrance comes in a sparkly holographic pink box which looks and feels good quality. The perfume bottle is also a simple design and like most fragrances it is clear to see the pink perfume inside. The following day I squirted a small amount of this perfume to both my wrists. Being a light fragrance, I felt that this was perfect for daytime wear. This is an important factor for me as I find that all too often I buy a fragrance and then decide it is far too heavy to wear generally day to day and end up stacking the bottle in my bathroom cabinet along with my other vast collection of 'special occasion' perfumes. 'Darling' seems to have got this just right. The scent is not too overpowering but after 4 hours of wear it still smelt as nice as when I first applied it. So much so that I felt no need to squirt any more to my wrists at lunch time, a habit I'd become accustomed to with many of my other perfumes. This also means that the bottle will hopefully last a lot longer even with everyday wear. Now for the all important ingredients.....I have to admit that although I know I like the smell, I was unable to pick out any exact aromas with my nose so I cheated and checked the packaging to see what fragrances this perfume contained. The top notes are made up of passion fruit, freesia and lychee. This gives the perfume it's sweetness although not overly sweet or sickly. The middle notes are lily and bonoria. This gives the scent its floral tones and the base notes are sandelwood, amberwood and vanilla. According to the packaging, these base notes give the fragrance a sensual feel which I think is what stops this perfume smelling too 'young'. After reading these ingredients, I can detect the vanilla and the sandalwood a lot more when smelling it. This fragrance certainly seems to have a lot of depth when you pick these aromas out. I would recommend this perfume to anyone who is looking for a light daytime perfume with staying power. I would say it is suitable for all age ranges, not just young teenage girls and I've certainly become more broad minded when choosing scents. Kylie Minogue Darling Perfume I love perfumes, and I always make sure I have a squirt of perfume on me before I leave the house, as it is nice to smell nice! I like to try out different types of perfumes, but I do not like paying a lot of money for one, this is where Kylie Minogue Darling comes into the picture! In some stores like Boots it is quite expensive, around £30. But you can get it a lot cheaper at Amazon, for around £15 for a 50ml bottle! Kylie Minogue Darling Perfume, comes in a pink cardboard box. But it has a special effect which makes the box give off a pink/purple reflective colour, its really hard to explain, but I guess all you need to know is that it looks very nice! The perfume itself comes in a small square ish bottle. It has the same pink/purple effect as the cardboard box, which makes it look very pretty sitting on your dressing table! The lid is a big black rectangular lid, they could of make the lid look a little bit more daintier, but it doesn't really bother me too much. The lid comes off easily when you pull it off, and then it goes back on easily again. Then there is a little spray nozzle underneath the lid like most perfumes, and you just push down on it, and then comes out the perfume! On the front of the bottle it says 'KYLIE MINOGUE' and then underneath it says 'darling'. The colour of the fragrance is a pinkish colour, but on your skin it doesn't look pink of course, you cant see it. Now it comes down to the most important part of a perfume, the smell. The smell I would say is a feminine flowery, sweet scent. It is defiantly a nice girly perfume. However the smell may be too sweet for some peoples likings, but I like it. When you first spray the perfume, it does smell very strong, but not overwhelmingly strong, so it is good because then you don't need lots of sprays to be able to smell it, so it does make the perfume last longer, and this perfume has lasted me a long time. When I put perfume on, I just do a little spray on one wrist then press my wrists together, (apparently your not meant to rub your wrists together as it rubs off the smell) and then I do another spray on my neck. I put this perfume on in the morning, and by the evening you can still smell it If you put your nose to your wrist and take a sniff, but it isn't as strong as it is in the morning when I first put It on. Overall I like this perfume, if you buy it from cheap places such as Amazon (make sure you get it new!) then it doesn't cost a lot at all. It a very nice strong girly scent, and it looks very pretty sitting on your dressing table. I think especially young teenagers would like this perfume. It also makes a lovely gift for someone, as it looks very pretty and smells nice. I like experimenting with perfumes, and trying new scents, so I would probably try new perfumes before going back to this one, but if I needed a nice cheap one, then I would defiantly buy this again.
This is one of the few scents that I have ordered online without previously sampling a tester. I've always been a fan of Kylie's work and I really liked the packaging. To be honest I just logged onto CheapSmells.com and decided there and then that I was going to bag myself a bargain simply because that is what you get from the site-bargains! The perfume came in a cellophane cover, beneath this protective layer was a mirage effect pink/purple/silver cardboard box which housed the perfume. The box has a really nice, fun, girly effect and I tend to keep my perfume boxes and display the boxes on my shelf as they look really funky on the shelves. This perfume bottle is in a boat-shape with the same quirky yet girly mirage effect on the bottle which almost looks like someone has spilt pink petrol onto it! It has a black spray nozzle and a big square lid which prevents the perfume from soaking your bag! The packaging, I find, is very unique and as I said it looks great on the shelf and would have really grabbed my attention if I'd have seen it in a shop. The smell is 'deeper' than other perfumes I own such as Ed Hardy and Anna Sui. By this I mean that it doesn't smell as girly or 'floaty', 'floral' or as 'wishy-washy' as stereotypical female perfumes. Instead it smells very fresh but in an almost masculine way, but don't let this put you off. It is a very unique, hard to describe scent but I think this adds to its appeal as it would suit women of any age and perhaps appeal more to those who don't really like the very girly, candy fragrances. This perfume has the longest lasting power of any other perfume I have tried in the past. It has a way of hitting your nose at random times throughout the day almost telling you that it's still there, still doing its job! I have had many compliments when wearing this perfume and I know a few of my friends have purchased this fragrance after smelling it. Kylie Minogue has a range of different scents on the market such as Sweet Darling and Sexy Darling. From CheapSmells.com I paid £13.25 for 50ml of the perfume. I have had it some 6-7 months now and use it almost every day, despite its frequent use I still have just under half of the bottle remaining and will definitely be investing in another bottle once that's gone as its sort of become my signature fragrance!
I love my perfumes, and Kylie Minogue's Darling fragrance was one of the very first I started wearing as a younger teenager. To this date, I am still picking up bottles of it because it is one of my personal signature scents and reminds me of my youth, as it is such a good perfume for such a fantastic price. Firstly, one of the most attractive things about this fragrance is its price! It is very affordable and seems to be on offer quite a lot. At Boots, the 30ml bottle is retailing for £22.00 and the 50ml bottle for £29.50, but do not be swayed by this, as in many perfume shops and online stores, you can find it for as little as £10.00 so I really would recommend shopping around before purchasing this. I have it in the slightly larger 50ml bottle, however it is available in a 30ml which is perfect for popping in to your handbag. If you are after a bit more for your money, if you shop around there is a 75ml bottle which you might be interested and would be quite long lasting. The bottle itself is light pink in colour, and as shown in the image above. I find the lid a little bulky and unattractive, and as it takes up a lot of room when I carry the bottle around with me, I instead decided to just get rid of it all together. I was happy with how this bottle looked, and I am happy to pop it up on display in my bedroom for all to see. For a celebrity fragrance at such a cheap price, the bottle is quite elegant. Although I do tend to get swayed by the aesthetics of the product, ultimately the most important thing when it comes down to a fragrance, is in fact its fragrance! Kylie Minogue Darling EDT is described as having top notes which consist of passion fruit, freesia and lychee. It has heart notes of lily and boronia, and finally it has bottom notes of sandalwood, amberwood and vanilla. When reading over these it does sound a frightfully strange scent, however in more simple terms, it is quite a sweet, floral smell which is definitely for the very girly girls as it has such a feminine feel about it. When you spray the scent at first, it can appear quite strong, however this means you do not need about eighty sprays to make it noticeable, and in the long term makes the perfume last longer. Once it has settled down, it is a very pretty scent, and I often get compliments when wearing this particular fragrance. However, I must admit that the scent is probably not for everyone as it is quite sweet, and I know that this is not to everyone's taste. Personally, it is the perfect scent for me and this is why I really love this one. One thing I have to fault it with is that one of the bottles of this which I have, I have owned for almost a year, and for some reason the smell has started to go a bit off, and no longer smells like the true fragrance it was a year ago. I am not sure if this is just occurring in my particular bottle, however it is something to be wary of. Fortunately, this is just an old bottle which I had rediscovered not long ago, and I usually do get through these bottles quite quickly, so I have never experienced this problem any other time. As for staying power, for a cheap, celebrity fragrance it does last a good few hours, and it sticks really well to clothes such as cardigans which is great as it leaves you and your clothes smelling delicious. I would recommend carrying it around with you on days out or nights out just to have a respray and keep the scent alive, however if you prefer not to lug around a perfume in your tiny clutch bag, you can rely on this perfume to keep you going throughout the night. Overall, I have been extremely impressed with this fragrance from Kylie for a good few years now, and I can't see myself changing my mind any time soon. A gorgeous, girly fragrance which I would recommend to all as it is such a good bargain which you should snap up! Only thing to be wary of is if you keep it for too long. Thanks for reading.
Everyone's favourite Darling. I have been a big Kylie Minogue fan, ever since her Neighbours day and so when she released a perfume I knew I had to get it. It's not that I have a desire to smell like Kylie, although I'm sure she smells very sweet, it's just that I like her as an artist and performer and thought I would like to have the perfumes she endorses. Whether she actually wears it herself is another matter, but hey, I like it. Darling is the first perfume from Kylie Minogue, her second being Sweet Darling. I have had mine for quite some time now as this perfume has been around for a few years. It is described as a sweet, seductive, glamorous and delicate perfume in equal measure, Kylie is irresistible!! The fragrance is meant to represent the sensuality and glamour of Miss Kylie Minogue. Well, I would definitely say that Kylie is sensual and glamorous but is her perfume?! Well the box and bottle itself definitely has a glamourous edge to it. The box is a lovely light pink colour and the front has a shimmery, almost glitter look to it. This to me says it's going to be very girly, very pop princess like Kylie herself. The bottle it also the same lovely pink colour and has an iridescent shimmer to it which is nice. The bottom bit which houses the perfume is a sort of rectangle shape but it goes in a bit at the bottom so it is not entirely a rectangle. On the front is written Kylie Minogue, Sweet Darling in delicate black writing. The top of the bottle has a black stopper on it which comes off in order to spray the perfume. According to the information on the smell, "Darling opens with a sensual, floral bouquet of sparkling yet sweet top notes including passion fruit, freesia and lychee. The heart is brimming with a delicate, feminine floral blend of lily and bonoria. The base notes project the sensual, enveloping essences of sandalwood, amberwood and vanilla." To me, this fragrance is very sweet and girly smelling. I would say that it's probably a bit too sweet for some people's tastes as it can be a bit sickly if you use too much. That being said, you do need to spray on quite a bit of the perfume to get the fragrance to stick and so sometimes it can be a bit overpowering but once it settles down you can smell it all day. I own a lot of perfumes and although I do like this one it is not one of my favourites. I have a variety of different priced perfumes and I have to say that the more expensive ones are definitely better. I feel that Darling is not as good and of the same quality as some perfumes brands that have been established for many years but for something a bit different it is good. It is fairly cheap compared to other fragrances as well which is always nice. For example a 50ml bottle costs £28.61 so for a younger person or a nice gift this would be spot on.
Review of 'Darling' Eau de Toilette, a fragrance by Kylie Minogue Kylie Minogue born 28/05/1968, Melbourne, Australia, is best known for her performance as Charleen, in the Australian soap 'Neighbours' and her career as a singer. In recent years she has hit the headlines following her diagnosis and subsequent recovery from breast cancer. Kylie Minogue, along with numerous other celebrities has also ventured into the world of perfume, lending her name to fragrances. 'Darling' is produced in conjunction with Coty. **The fragrance** Darling is marketed as a Chypre-Floriental fragrance, an oriental, floral mixture. Darling is a very feminine scent, it is a strong, floral perfume, with sensual, heady top notes of freesia, passion fruit and lychee. The mid notes are a subtle blend of florals, the following base notes of sandalwood, amber wood and vanilla. The scent of freesia is the first I notice at the initial spray of the Eau de Toilette and this is the most prominent first aroma. The sandalwood and vanilla come through quite distinctly after a short period. It is an unusual perfume, not as sweet as some floral based scents, yet not as woody as one might expect given the sandalwood and amber wood content. I would describe this fragrance as fresh and powerful. The perfume is fairly long lasting on my skin, I can still detect it several hours after applying. However, it must be remembered that dependent on skin types, perfumes will react differently on people. I would always recommend consumers to try a tester in store before you buy with any fragranced product. What smells great on your friend, may be totally different on you! **Packaging** The Eau de Toilette is packaged in a pretty pink oblong box, edged with black, the fragrance name, Darling and Kylie Minogue are printed in a light burgundy and silver font. The bottle is a squat semi oval shape, again in pink with a black chunky block style lid. The pinky coloured EDT is clearly visible through the glass bottle. The product is attractively presented and very feminine in appearance. Although a pretty package, do remember that all perfumes should be stored in a cool, dark place to preserve the fragrance. **Sizes, price, stockists and range** The fragrance EDT comes in three sizes, 30, 50 and 75 ml. Body lotion (200 ml) is also available in the range. As mentioned earlier, the fragrance is produced by Coty and is widely available from department stores, chemist chains and of course online retailers. Prices are variable, so it is worth shopping around. Some of the best I have seen for this product are from the online retailer 'cheap smells' (www.cheapsmells.com) who are currently offering the 75 ml EDT £14.75 plus P&P, quite a big saving against the RRP (recommended retail price) of £32.50. It is always worth checking out Amazon too for perfume products www.amazon.co.uk **My Thoughts and Conclusion** This is not one of my favourite fragrances, I received this as a gift on my last birthday and I have to say that I probably would not buy it for myself. I feel it is best suited to a younger woman than I, or perhaps someone who enjoys a very feminine, floral scent. That said, this is a long lasting pleasant fragrance, which I have found is quite economical in use as one application of the Eau de Toilette does lasts for hours. As stated earlier in this review, do try out a tester in store before buying any fragranced product, to make certain that the scent suits your skin type! ==Kylie Minogue - Darling EDT== working right next door to a chemist has got to be a big draw back for me as even though I get a 10% staff discount (I work in the Doctors) I seem to spend far too much of my wages in there! This main reason is because they stock a large selection of perfumes and when I am having a down day I feel the need to cheer myself up with a bottle of perfume rather than reaching for the chocolate (I'm on a permanent diet!) So a good few months back I was feeling particularly down and decided to treat myself to a bottle of this Kylie Minogue EDT which wasn't one of the cheaper ones available but the one that I had yet to try out. The fact that the chemist doesn't have them to test does make it rather a lucky dip when choosing as I hadn't smelt the fragrance before so I was really clueless as to what the aroma would be like. For a 30 ml bottle of the perfume I paid out around £18 for the bottle which having had a good look online I can see is well over priced and I could have picked up the same bottle for around £10 had I been inclined to wait and shop from the internet which was hardly going to pick me up as much as buying from the chemist! The design of the bottle is really nothing special at all and I don't think I really like it. It has a pinky type of clear glass for the main body of the bottle which has a curved shape to it but the glass also has a sort of strange sheen to it which I feel makes it look rather cheap. The lid and the pump of the bottle are made from a shiny type of black plastic which is easily removed and the perfume sprays out easily from. For the fragrance itself I would say that it pretty much matches the look of the bottle. By this I mean nothing really special and perhaps slightly cheap. It is a very feminine aroma and one which is quite sweet and rather fitting to these now warmer sunnier days rather than the winter ones. There are notes of passion fruit which I can pick up but the other smells are generally rather floral and light. This said I find that the longevity of the perfume really does leave a lot to be desired and it not one that will last all day. It remind me of a perfume that you could pick up from the Avon catalogue and pay around £5 for. I do quite like the fragrance but it doesn't feel very special or worth the money I paid for it. Because it doesn't last very long on clothes or the skin a fair amount of the product is needed and therefore the bottle is more or less gone already and I haven't been using it that often (I do have a rather large collection of perfumes which I alternate between). All in all I have to say that this sweet, floral and feminine fragrance is okay and makes a nice change to some of the heavier perfumes that I have but on the whole I have to say that I am not overly impressed with it and I can't see that it is one I shall be buying again. I think even if it lasted a bit better on the skin I wouldn't be overly impressed either. For these reasons I feel a score of 3 out of 5 stars is more than generous and I would only give it a slight recommendation. I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you. Many thanks for taking the time to read.
If you can get this at the right price which is often £10 in some stores. Then it is definately a must by. It one of the best for its price. It has a sweet but not over the top smell. Smells good on and good when sprayed and is certainly worth the money. Kylie minogues sweert darling is also worth getting but this is definately the better of the two. It has long lasting scent too.
Darling was the first of Kylie Minogue's fragrances to be released in November 2006. It was designed by Thierry Wasser and manufactured by Coty. The Design The perfume bottle comes housed in a square box. The box is very simple in design and the pink hollographic effect on the front and back as can be seen in the picture is very eye-catching. It gives the product a certain air of elegance and makes the product look quite expensive. The glass bottle of the perfume is tinted pink with an oil-in-water effect which is in keeping with the hollographic design of the box. Again, rather simple in design and oval in shape, the bottle tapers down to an interesting shape, which reminds me, and excuse me if this is a little coarse, of a rather lovely looking bum, Kylie's bum maybe? For the lid, a solid black rectangular piece of plastic is use which certainly contrasts with the delicate, feminine design of the bottle. The Fragrance Wasser designed the fragrance to capture the very essence of Kylie herself. Top notes include passion fruit, freesia and lychee. The heart notes are lily and boronia and base notes are sandalwood, amberwood and vanilla. Wasser said, "I wanted to combine strength and movement in order to reflect the intensity of my encounter with Kylie through this fragrance. The freshness of starfruit and the fondant of lychee express her optimism and energy. The powdered sweetness of Boronia and the creamy force of Australian sandalwood evoke the memory of a beloved country: Australia. The transparency of freesia and the delight of lily reveal a contasted femininity. The greediness of vanilla and the sensuality of amberwood show the affection aroused by talent and passion" Well having read that and having a good old sniff, I think he did a pretty good job. The scent is sweet and slightly fruity and I can definitely detect the musky aroma of the sandalwood and amberwood. The sweetness hits first, quickly followed by heady musk, giving this great balance. The vanilla certainly adds substance making this smell good enough to eat, well almost. My opinion This is one delightful fragrance. A substantial scent with great lasting power. Feminine and quite distinctive, it is suitable for daytime of evening wear. Because of the balance between fruity sweetness and musk, I would recommend it to darlings of any age. The price For such a lovely scent, it is very modestly priced. As I always recommend, online is definitely where you will find the best deals, but I managed to pick up a 75ml bottle for £14.99 at TJ Hughes. It is available in £0ml, 50ml and 75ml and also can be purchased as part of a gift set. Other fragrances from Kylie include Sweet Darling, Sexy Darling, Couture, Pink Sparkle and Showtime. http://www.kylieminogueparfums.com **Also on Ciao under the same username**
I think this was the first Perfume out from Kylie Minogue. She launched her Perfume range a good few years ago, and the scents are still getting sold thesedays. Judging by the picture on the back of the box with Kylie and her Hair cut short I think this Perfume came out around 2005, but I could be wrong. I've seen this for sale in the 50ml bottle for as low as £10 on a certain website I use, and the 75ml bottle seems to sell for around £20 in most other stockists. So it is 1 of the rare occassions where the smaller bottles cost less than buying the larger bottle. The box is quite a thin one, and this means that the bottle is quite thin, but it's quite large as well. The box is a light pink colour and I think it looks a bit metallic and shiny. The bottle is quite simple looking and the glass is clear so you can see the light pink liquid through the bottle. The lettering is in small black writing and the lid is black as well. The black looks nice compared to the pink in the bottle. So how does this smell? It is a very sweet scent. It is quite strong when you first spray this, but after it settles down after the usual 20 minutes it is a lot nicer. You can smell some Florals in here, but I would say they are light Pink Florals, with a bit fizz and sparkle to it. There is a fruity scent in here but I would say it is hard to say what Fruit is in here. I would guess that there is a dash of Mango and Citrus in here. I think you can smell Peppercorn and Jasmine in here too but only in a small dose. I have been using this off and on for the last few years. It will never be my most favourite Perfume and not in the top 20 or that, but it is a nice scent in a different kind of scent way. It isn't exactly the Perfume I go for, but that's probably more because there is so many more that I like which are more to my taste. This is priced alright, and lasts a good lenght of time. Most suited to those who like Sweet scents and i'm sure if you like Sweet then you would love this.
