Do not like this at all. Tried it on a few of my friends and we all decided it smells like cat wee.
Kylie Minogue is described as being pint size but she does nothing by the small scale. Starting out on Neighbours, her career blossomed and she turned her hand to film acting and most importantly singing. As most singers now do, she released a range of perfumes under the Coty brand. **The Perfume and Range** Kylies range of perfumes isn't extensive. There is 5 in total. Couture sways away from the sweet perfumes such as Darling that Kylie has produced. Kylie aimed for a modern and sophisticated scent which would suit those with a strong sense of style. The EDT scent is described as being "a sparkling and stylish floral musky fragrance which embodies modernity and elegance". **Notes** The initial opening notes or top notes are a blend of amanda cherry, lemon flower and vintage violet. These are the notes that first hit you as you spray and settle quickly. The middle notes are the 2nd longest lasting notes and combine ylang ylang, passion flower and jasmin. The final notes or base notes are a mix of musk ribbons, vanilla sorbet and white cedarwood. These are the notes which should remain on your skin for the longest period of time. **Bottle** The Couture bottle is very simple yet feminine. The glass bottle is oval shaped and curves with no sharp edges. The bottle is clear and the perfume is dispensed through a black spray. The spray head is hidden under the curved black lid. The lid is quite striking and adds an extra feminine touch to the ensemble. It depicts a corset style at one end with a silver backing. The Kylie Minogue name is in simple black with the Couture logo noticable in red writing on the front of the bottle. **Availability and Price** Offline, Kylie perfumes are generally stocked in Boots and Superdrug to name a few. It can be found on the highstreet but seems to becoming less available. I have checked online for prices and have gathered the following information. www.boots.com 30ml @ £23.50 www.amazon.co.uk 30ml @ £9.40/75ml @ £15.70/30ml giftset inc body lotion @ £14.24 www.cheapsmells.co.uk 30ml @ £8.95/50ml @ £11.95/75ml @ £14.95 The shower gel and body lotion to match can also be purchased in 200ml sizes. **My Opinion** I have previously used Kylie Darling and loved it. I used the Sweet Darling and didn't like it so it is really a matter of preference with the Kylie perfumes in general. Couture isn't one that I had smelt until recently. I had spotted the gift set in the clearance section in Boots at only £9.50. I had a heap of bills to pay that day and couldn't justify buying it. My Mum spotting my dissappointment, went back and bought it for me and presented it to me the next day. I was so happy! Like I said, before this I hadn't tried this perfume which is not something I would usually do as I like to know what it smells like on me but it was a generous gift and well received by myself! I have been using the perfume for about 2weeks now. I received a 30ml size and 150ml body lotion. Here are my views. This is aimed at modern woman who embrace style. Personally I don't fall for these sort of claims with perfumes as you cannot really sterotype people based on a scent. I personally do occasionally like to get dressed up fancy but most of the time, I am comfortable in my Primark pjs or my tracky bottoms and trainers! The bottle itself is very plain and simple..no fancing colours or images. The curviness and corset style lid add a sense of feminism to it and I like this. It isn't the nicest of bottles and in no way competes with the others in the Kylie range but it is the scent inside that counts. I didn't research the notes before using this as I didn't want this to overshadow my initial judgement. This spray top dispenses the perfume quite harshly and the perfume doesn't appear to cover a large area. The initial scent is extremely strong so not one to be spraying with others in the vicinity! Once the strong scent has subsided, there is a gorgeous, fruity burst combined with an undertone floral scent which sort of sits in the background. The scent has quite a sourness which tones down the fruitness and is quite pleasant. This scent doesn't last particularly long. I would estimate 3 to 4 minutes at the most. We then discover the middle or heart notes. This is where I felt the scent changed quite dramatically. The floral notes really shine through here and despite me not liking floral perfumes, this scent is really gorgeous and not overpowering. It is still noticable though and delicate. I could still detect some form of fruitiness but the floral tones overshadowed it. Once the scent had fully settled on my skin, I am treated to the base notes. Being the longest lasting of all the notes, you really want to appreciate them and enjoy them. The base notes are deliciously sweet with a musky undertone. I like vanilla scents but prefer them not to be sickly. This one is just right and the cedarwood and musk ribbons have clearly reduced the sweetness to an acceptable and inviting level to be thouroughly liked. I would overall describe this scent as being very feminine. It is more floral than sweet or fruity so is not personally one I would choose to wear each day but the scent works well with the combined notes. I would say it is aimed at perhaps ladies in their 20s or 30s and would suit being an evening scent as it is quite sensual. The one thing I would say lets it down is the staying power. I applied this in the morning and before noon the scent wasn't detecable on my skin. Its ok for the price though. Scents smell differently on different people so I strongly urge you to try before buy! I would recommend buying this online as the Boots price for 30ml is awful! Kylie perfumes seem to be disappearing from high street stores so online is the best option for availability and you can pick this and her others perfumes up very cheap. Thanks for reading
(The majority of my reviews are based around cosmetics and fragrances. It's been like that since I joined DooYoo though; I don't want to be seen as someone who is only doing it for the sake of getting more miles per review) - - - - - - - - - - - The fragrance - - - - - - - - - - - - COUTURE is the first Kylie/Coty fragrance that I could actually see Ms Minogue wearing as I recall an old magazine interview in which she said she didn't actually wear perfume... What I'm trying to say is that COUTURE is so light, I hesitate to describe it as perfume. COUTURE applies with a sharp, almost masculine scent (I assume this the mix of cherry and lemon flower), before quickly settling to a mild, watered down violet fragrance. After an hour or so it fades into a faint - but lovely wood/vanilla mix. - - - - - - - - - - Scent notes - - - - - - - - - - Amarena cherry, lemon blossom, violet, ylang ylang, jasmine, passionflower, musk stripes, vanilla sorbet and white cedar. - - - - - - - - - The bottle - - - - - - - - - Yuck. I'm by no means an expert on couture, but this looks cheap. It looks like something I'd expect to find with the deodorants, not displayed with the fine fragrances - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other buying considerations - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Couture is best as a casual daytime scent. It can be worn all year round. This is very light; close to the skin; therefore the staying power is very poor. You'll need to keep the bottle in your bag to constantly 'freshen up'. - - - - - - - - - My opinion - - - - - - - - - All things considered, this is actually my favourite Kylie fragrance; there are no headaches or no sweetness induced nausea. But I wouldn't buy the retail price for COUTURE; it wears like a body spray. When they have offers on I might be tempted to pick up a bottle - I do have a weakness for cherry and violet notes in my fragrances. - - - - - - Price - - - - - - 30ml: £21 50ml: £29 75ml: £36 I've noticed that many high street retailers have seemed to stop stocking Kylie perfumes. Not a good sign. Most online retailers stock it and they sell the Kylie brand perfumes halve price.
Kylie Minogue's latest fragrance will add a touch of couture to anyone's life. The bottle possesses a different shape to the rest in Kylie minogues range, this one is an oval shape and a creamy/gold colour with couture written in red writing across the front, the lid is a classy black with a zig-zag corset design. The box is a simple rectangular shape and is gold with the black zig-zag corset design and red couture writing. The fragrance consists of the following notes am-arena cherry, night blooming jasmine and vintage violet. The scent is a floral one but its much more sophisticated than the others in her range for me i found it really elegant and modern.Like others in the kylie range this scent is really long lasting, also its versatile because can be worn both day or night, and it sprays well onto the skin and doesn't stick. Prices range from around £10-15 for a 30ml bottle to £20-25 for a 75ml bottle, sets can also be bought with the body cream. The fragrance can be bought from retail shops such as boots and the perfume shop and online at amazon. Overall i would describe this fragrance as being a classy elegant floral scent.
Couture - Eau de Toilette 30ml is Kylie's latest fragrance. I found this in Boots just a couple of weeks back and just had to have a smell. The perfume is actually quite different to the rest. It's a very sophisticated musky-floral smell. When i first sprayed it i was quite surprised at the difference. Kylie always went for the sweet smells and this one seems to be a very grown up, sexy, elegant smell. The box is very attractive. A golden box with 'Kylie Minogue' written in black and 'Couture' written in a sexy red underneath. The bottle is sparkling and nicely shaped, like an oval see-through/creamy colour, with the same writing as the box with a classy black lid. When sprayed you instantly smell the ylang ylang. After looking up i found the perfume also contains, amarena cherry, lemon flower and vintage violet. Also jasmine and passionflower. When its actually calmed down on your skin the scent of vanilla comes through nicely. I find this fragrance to be very feminine, quite classy and very elegant. Couture, like Sexy Darling lasts for a long while, and isnt too strong. A must have for ladies out there with style. I recommend this perfume, you can get this from £13.38 at Amazon.
