      Advantages

      Disadvantages

This is a beautiful pretty perfume and I hope Avon bring it back very soon

      WHAT IS IT?

A perfume from Avon. It has been discontinued now but my Avon representative told me that it is going to come back in the summer campaign books, you can buy Luscious very cheaply on Ebay and because of it being such a thin and light bottle the postal costs are not very high.

      THE FRAGRANCE

This perfume is called Ice Sheers so I did not expect it to be a very strong fragrance and I was not wrong. It is very light and right for the summer I think, there is a sharp fruit fragrance when I first spray it on but after 5 minutes a very lovely lemon fragrance appears. It is sweet lemon but I can smell that it is a little bit tangy as well so very much like natural lemons. The perfume smells the same all the time that I am wearing it and does not change hardly at all.

      HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Luscious does not last for very long and I think that is a pity because it is a very pretty smelling perfume that is right for summer days. I always spray it on again after 2 hours have gone past because by then it has nearly all gone and all that is left is a very light citrus and musk fragrance.

      WHAT I THINK

I like this perfume very much and will buy it again when it is back in the Avon catalogue. It smells more like body spray than perfume sometimes and I only wear it during the day because it has not got enough impact to wear it if I went out at night with my husband. My husband does not like Luscious because he says that it smells cheap but I do not think that and it is just a more light perfume than I usually wear.

I do not care about having to reapply it so often because the bottle is very small so I can take it to work with me. The spray is good and the perfume is sprayed out in an arc to cover a lot of my skin with every spray. I use it on my neck and wrists.

      ANYTHING ELSE

When Avon was selling Luscious it used to cost between £5 - £8 but now you can buy a brand new bottle for £4 on Ebay including the cost of it being shipped to you and I think that is a bargain because this is a very nice perfume.

      4 Dooyoo Stars.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Quite a disappointing scent

My mother has been buying me Avon perfumes for years, even before she was an Avon rep herself. This means I always have a rather large collection of Avon fragrances and rarely buy them for myself. The Ice Sheers scent in Luscious was an exception to this, as I treated myself to it after reading lots of positive reviews of it online.

Luscious is one of three perfumes in the Ice Sheers range and is predominantly lemon scented. The other two available are Delicious (purple) which smells like blackberry and Refreshing (green) which smells like pear. I actually liked the sound of all three, but I do have a bit of a weakness for lemon scented products, which is why I finally plumped for Luscious over the other two.

The bottle Ice Sheers comes in is very plain and if I'm honest rather disappointing. It looks very cheap (probably because it is!) and is not the most fetching design I've ever seen. It is yellow frosted glass with the ice sheers name printed onto one side and a very cheap looking plastic lid and spray pump.

The official description of the scent is 'This fruity fragrance combines fresh citrus with delicate florals and creamy lemon meringue.' Here's what I thought...

When I first spray this scent, there is an initial burst of alcohol fragrance, which quickly gives way to something that smells a lot like a mix of chemicals. I do notice a hint of lemon in here and the chemical/lemon scent unfortunately makes it smell very much like a cleaning fluid - which I'm sure you can imagine, left me hugely disappointed.

As this fragrance settles on my skin, thankfully the chemical tone to it does fade and I am left with a pleasant yet not particularly sensational lemon fragrance. This lemon tone is very subtle and has a touch of leafy floral to it, with something a little sweeter. It may be my imagination, but I sometimes think it smells a little bit like flapjacks or digestive biscuits lingering there behind the sharp tang of the lemon. This is a pleasant scent, but it's not one that jumps out and says 'wow' - it just strikes me as rather plain and generic. It's also a little weak for my tastes - don't get me wrong I'm not one of those people who likes their fragrance to walk into a room before them, but I do like to be able to smell it on my skin, and this I can't unless I hold my wrist to my nose. Unlike many scents which change and develop on the skin the longer they have been on, I can honestly say I don't really find this and once the initial chemical scent has worn off, the fragrance seems to stay the same until the perfume fades.

Unfortunately the staying power of this scent is particularly poor and one of the main reasons that my bottle has barely been touched. I find three hours is around the maximum I can get out of it, which for me is not particularly useful.

On the occasions I do wear this, I wear it as a daytime scent. It just isn't strong enough, or even special enough for most evening occasions. I also think that due to the light nature of the fragrance, it is more suited to the spring and summer months than autumn and winter.

A 50ml bottle of this fragrance retails at £8.50 from Avon, although I have noticed it is often on special offer. At the moment it is reduced to £4.25 which I feel is nearer to what it's worth. It can be purchased from your Avon rep or online at www.avonshop.co.uk

Overall I have been really disappointed with this fragrance. It's just nothing like I thought it would be in so many respects. The scent is not too bad once it's settled on the skin, but you do need to be prepared for an initial chemical fragrance to the perfume. The staying power is not great either and as such this is not a fragrance I use very often. I know from having read many reviews of it prior to purchase, that some people adore it, but I'm afraid I'm not one of them and so I can't recommend it and nor would I be tempted to purchase a second bottle.

**You may or may not have noticed, but like a total idiot I've put this review in the wrong category. I am of course talking about Ice Sheers Luscious, not Ice Sheers Refreshing. I have asked Dooyoo to move it!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A nice 'cheap and cheerful' scent from Avon

A while ago I purchased all 3 of Avon's Ice Sheers EDT fragrances when they were on an introductory offer. Having reviewed two of the collection previously, this is my 3rd and final of my Ice Sheers review and focuses on 'Luscious'.

Luscious is part of a trio of EDT's which were launched by Avon in 2010 and also available are:

        *Delicious 50ml EDT

        *Refreshing 50ml EDT

also a plethora of make up accessories accompany the range which are sporadically available in the brochures.

Though this is the third of my reviews, it is by far not my least favourite despite it being lemon based, which isn't my ideal type of fragrance, but here are my thoughts on this and why I have been swayed..

The fragrance comes housed in an identical looking flacon to the other two Ice Sheers fragrances which is in the form of a tall, and slim line looking glass bottle. The bottle is quite basic in appearance and the only obvious feature that is apparent is the logo which is embossed in a carved manner down the exterior of the centre. As this is an EDT there is an easy to access and equally so use nozzle which is placed directly on top of the bottle. The colouring of the glass is a pale lemon which once the list of ingredients used becomes known makes the colour choice very befitting.
The fragrance is made up of the following:

        *Top notes~
        *Sparkling Citrus Notes

        *Heart notes~
        **Iced Orange Blossom

        *Base Notes
        ***Lemon Pie

        My experience of wearing this~

As I purchased all 3 of the Ice Sheers fragrances at the same time I have to admit I wasn't really as excited about wearing this particular one compared to the other two in the collection. When it comes to perfumes/EDT's, citrus based fragrances are not my ideal choice as I tend to opt for more warmer oriental scents - the total opposite of what this was offering scent wise.

I did leave it until last to test it and I have to say it surprised me somewhat in the fact that it is not *too* citrusy at all. The fragrance opens with 'sparkling citrus notes' which yes admittedly are a little too harsh for me personally but this initial blast of tangy lemon soon starts to fade and disperses within minutes. Shortly after the EDT starts to dry on the skin and this is where the fragrance starts to open up and become itself with the 'iced orange blossom' at the heart. Although it states it's iced, I found the orange blossom seemed to add a warmth to the EDT that in my opinion was very much needed.
The fragrance ends with the deliciously sounding 'lemon pie' and this lemon is nowhere near as harsh and crisp as it's opening predecessor - it is softer and has a sweetness to it that leaves my skin smelling beautiful.

I found the overall scent that remained on my skin was one of a soft lemon based aroma with a hint of orange blossom and this lingered for several hours. Because of the longevity of the scent I was really quite pleased with this purchased as it cost only a few pounds at the time of buying but the fragrance lasted far longer than some more expensive perfumes I own so I was impressed.
If interested in buying this it currently retails at £8.50 (Aug 11') and as it is an Avon product it is available via a local Rep, online @www.avon.co.uk or Ebay always seems to have a good choice of items.

        Conclusion~

I would recommend this if you are looking for a light and refreshing Summery scent that doesn't take itself too seriously. Because of the lemon pie and iced orange blossom element this is a fun daytime scent that is perfect for throwing in bags for topping up during the day if out and about as the bottle is made of quite a thick, sturdy glass. As I stated though I found the scent lingered once applied for several hours so for a cheap and cheerful fragrance you can't go far wrong with this.

A nice enough 'cheap' scent from Avon.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          .

This range hasn't been out all that long in Avon. I ended up trying all of these as I like new products, and also the special price that it launched with.

This comes in a 50ml bottle and the right price of this is £8. It has been on offer more at £4 though, and although the Perfume probably would be ok to pay £8, it makes sense just to pay £4 surely?

There is 3 Perfumes in the range, which are Luscious, Delicious and Refreshing.

This comes in a rectangular box which is quite long and slim enough as well. It is a light yellow colour and doesn't looks all that expensive or eye catching. Just a plain simple box. The bottle is pretty plain as well. It is a frosted glass bottle which is sort of rectangular as well and quite long and thin enough as well. The writing is embossed on the bottle and there is a little yellow plastic lid on here too.

So how does this smell? It's alright. I would probably say that this is the least favourite of mine in the range. It isn't that it is all that bad, but I just like the other 2 better! I suppose this does smell a bit tart and very Citrussy.

When you first spray this I think it is a bit overpowering. It smells a bit chemical and smells a bit alcohol like, but after this dries as with most Perfumes then it settles down a bit better. The scent doesn't last all that long to be honest, but if I was paying £4 for it then I wouldn't mind reapplying this through the day since it is cheap enough. The main smell in here is Lemons, but there seems to be a sparkling scent in here and perhaps a dash of White Florals as well. I think this smells a bit like Lemon Pie, so perhaps there is a slight Buttery Pie scent mixed through this as well.

Should appeal to the Teenage wearers and Citrus scent lovers. I used the bottle up, it wasn't all that bad but I will not be buying it again.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A surprisingly attractive perfume from Avon

I'm not fussy when it comes to perfume, well I am but what I should say is I'm not a perfume snob. I've got a few bottles of perfume which were in the higher price brackets, but at the same time I'll happily buy a bottle that costs a fiver if I like the bottle. And I liked the look of this bottle of Luscious from Avon's Ice Sheers range, so I bought it!

I can't remember the exact words, but the blurb in the Avon book made the perfume appeal. It was made out to be a fun, light perfume which would be ideal for wearing through the summer. I didn't discover it until September though, which is just my luck!

It's the perfect perfume for daytime wear. The scent is of lemons and that makes it a clean and fresh smelling perfume, there's a beautiful sweet smell underneath which gives the perfume a creamy lemon meringue scent after it's been sitting on my skin for a few minutes.

When you first use Luscious you might not like the scent straight away, I'm not sure how to describe it really but the first scent you'll get is a very tart and cheap smell which isn't good. This lingers for a few minutes (if that) and it'll be after that that you'll find the scent starting to develop into something more. There's a gorgeous but very unusual fragrance as the lemon scent starts coming through, it's like the perfume is trying to turn itself into the smell of lemon washing up liquid. It's nicer than it sounds, honest!

The perfume doesn't last any time at all, this is mainly due to the fact that the scent is very subtle throughout it's life. It definitely wouldn't cope with a night out, and to be honest I haven't given it a chance because I can tell I'd constantly be taking the bottle out and reapplying it. If I wear it in the daytime I'll usually top the fragrance up at least three to four times, this is compared to the one time I'd reapply a more upmarket fragrance such as Hugo Boss or Dior.

I like Luscious because it's not trying to be something it's not. It's a feminine scent which will not overpower anyone's sense of smell, once the perfume has started to get its lemon meringue fragrance you'll soon grow to love the sweet and delicious smelling scent. I think it would have made a nice summer perfume, although hopefully the fact that it's winter now will mean the price might come down a bit. As long as they bring it back next year as I'll definitely buy more.

£8 from Avon (but has been on offer plenty of times for £5).

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

An decent enough smelling lemon perfume but doesn't last long at all.

Due to the fact my friend is an Avon rep, I am lucky in that she lets me trial run her perfume samples for at least a week (usually several) to give myself the chance to form a full 'owners' opinion, and one of the fragrances I've tested out is the Ice Sheers Luscious perfume.

Ice Sheers Luscious is one in a range of 3 perfumes, the others being Ice Sheers Delicious and Ice Sheers Refreshing, both of which I tried for several weeks, and of which I purchased the Ice Sheers Refreshing fragrance.

            ~~Price~~

At the time I trialled this for a few weeks, a 50ml bottle of Ice Sheers Luscious was offered for just £5 in the Avon catalogue, but it's gone up in price since and I believe it's now available for £8. For the amount you get, this isn't a bad price I think.

            ~~Bottle~~

The Luscious bottle is tall and made out of a lemony coloured frosted glass bottle, reflecting the Ice Sheers name, with the name looking like it's carved out of ice into the bottle itself. As with all the Ice Sheers bottles, it fits into the hand nicely and I had no problems using it over time.

            ~~Scent~~

Ice Sheers Luscious on first spray is very citrussy and fresh, with a definite lemon scent that is quite sharp but not overly so. After a while, this refreshing and Summery scent sweetens up and I can smell a tiny bit of vanilla in the fragrance I think.

It actually makes it smell like a kind of very nice lemony cake, but with a little touch of mint to it too. The sweet, fresh citrus aroma is nice enough and quite enjoyable in small doses although it's not very complicated and doesn't really develop much as it goes along. It's a simple scent.

            ~~Staying Power~~

As with most Avon perfumes, one negative point is the staying power, and Ice Sheers Luscious doesn't have a great performance on my skin. The scent only lasts for an hour or 2 at most on me, which is pretty disappointing. I know it's not expensive, so I could put a lot on and reapply, but I didn't think the scent was special enough for me to bother. If I loved it, I wouldn't mind the extra effort, but I just think it's an average cheap perfume to be honest.

            ~~Overall~~

Although this wasn't a bad perfume, I actually liked the lemon scent for a while, it's not great. The staying power wasn't good, and for me the fragrance was not complicated enough, though I have to admit for the price it can't be knocked too much! After trying it out over a few weeks, although I found this to be an ok scent, it wasn't special enough to warrant buying it, and I purchased the Ice Sheers Refreshing instead.

            A Gorgeous Perfume From Avon!

I'm not really one for Avon perfumes, my mum has got a massive collection of perfume and they're all a million times better than most Avon ones but when I saw this in the book for £5.00 the other week I decided to buy it because the fragranced page smelled lovely.

There are 3 perfumes in the Ice Sheers range, they have gone up in price to £8.00 now and aren't worth that I don't think but for a fiver you can't moan. This is the Luscious version and comes in a lemon glass bottle that actually DOES look like it's carved out of a block of ice.

It's a very subtle perfume so if you like a more in your face smell then you probably won't be too keen on this. The perfume has got a gorgeous lemony smell that is mega refreshing and summery, after you've been wearing it for a few minutes it starts to smell like lemon meringue and the sweetness of the perfume will come through more.

The smell doesn't last all that long on my skin but even after the smell has gone there is still a lovely sweet and fresh smell that will linger for longer.

I don't actually look at this like a perfume and think it's more of a freshening spritz than anything, it's mega cooling when you spray it on in the hot weather and the lemon smell isn't over powering like some perfumes are in the summer. It's one of them perfumes that is very one dimensional.... it smells of lemons and then lemon meringue and that's it. Don't be expecting different notes or anything like that because after all it's a £5.00 bottle of perfume and not one that cost £50.00! It's got a gorgeous citrus smell and is a little bit soapy, even though the perfume mainly smells lemony I wouldn't say it's particularly fruity but the sweet smell of it makes it a sweet but slightly tangy perfume.

I think this is a wicked perfume for the price, it doesn't last all that long on my skin but for a fiver who cares about having to reapply it regular?

            ****Ice sheers luscious ****

I am a really big perfume fan so when these came out priced at just £5 each I decided to buy all three scents-luscious,delicous and refereshing.

            **Packaging/bottle design**
The luscious bottle has quite a boring design and is a pale yellow colour with the words ice sheers written on it. Its nothing special to look at and I think if it was in the shop I would probabily pass it by and not even look at it.

            **Smell**

The description on the website made me want to try this perfume first. It was described as being a fruity fragrance with fresh citrus, delicate florals and creamy lemon meringue-to me this sounded really nice!!
When you first spray it the smell is quite strong and you have a strong citrus smell. This fades quite quickly though and you are left with more of a floral scent. It is quite nice but nothing specail and I would say that it is a day time scent.. Another thing the smell fades to nothing after a couple of hours and I have to reapply it more frequently than my normal perfume.

Overall not a bad perfume if you dont mind having to reapply it more frequently than more expensive brands.
