I haven't used much of Guccie's products, but yes, I bought this lovely perfume from http://www.feelingsexy.com.au/ I found it on a discount, with 50%, so thought it would me nice perfume. But actually, it came up really Great one.It is sweet and warm perfume. I prefer it wearing it daytime. I love it's sweet scent. I have never before loved such a "warm" perfume, but this is really nice. From 1 to 10, I am rating it 8.9Yes, if you ask me why not 10, it's because is to strong, and i can not wear it when is to hot.
Gucci by Gucci Eau de Toilette
Gucci perfumes are expensive generally so I don't own many and most of those I have are miniatures or small sample phials. This was a small sample phial I picked up as a freebie from somewhere or bought as a job lot on Ebay which is how I get a lot of my perfumes.
Gucci's Creative Director, Frida Giannini was said to have "unleashed her affinity for masculine notes" with this one. Gucci by Gucci was the creation of perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, and the notes include guava, raspberry, pear, chamomile, Tahitian Tiare flower, orange blossom, spider lily, patchouli, honey and musk.
I don't have the box but I have inspected it in the shops and found it comes in a pretty dusky pink box with a brown and gold stripe down the middle with the words "Gucci by Gucci" on the front.
Inside you find the bottle is clear glass rectangular one with a decent sized stopper top in gold with a Gucci sort of emblem at the front. On the front of the bottle is the Gucci by Gucci logo . The lid looks chunky and when i tested this in store I did find the lid very heavy so not one you would mislay in a hurry.
NOW TO THE SMELL
On the first spray I nearly choked as it is very strong initially and you get hot with a fruity patchouli which is rather too overpowering however it does die down fairly quickly to a more musky woody aroma. There are still sweet almost honey and floral notes that mix with the woody sweetness but not overly sweet.
As the perfume dries down it becomes smooth and quite dry, and almost mildly leathery but sweeter. There is still a hint of the fruitiness but with the amber like spicy warmth. I found it quite a heavy floral sweet scent but despite its initial strength I found it didn't last that long on me but maybe that was because I tried the EDT not the perfume.
It is quite exotic with its guava fruitiness combining with the Tahitian Tiare flower which is a bit like a frangipani flower which is strong sweet and really heady and a scent I love. It has creaminess with musky depth from patchouli.
This is Gucci 's signature fragrance that they describe as " for the accomplished, modern woman who, just as iconic women of the past, will be remembered for her unique ability to merge strength and ambition with a sensual, feminine appeal."
So we have an initial bang of exotic fruitiness with pear and guava this gradually changes and becomes deeply sensual and more floral as the Tahitian Tiare flower emerges and then finally the deeper musky patchouli sits with the sweet notes.
WHERE TO BUY AND HOW MUCH
This perfume is available in EDT or perfume and the EDT comes in different sizes from 30ml, 50ml and 75ml.
You can buy this is Boots, Debenhams and on line from Amazon and cheapsmells as well as other sites. The prices do vary so if you are interested I suggest doing a price comparison before buying. I tend to use Amazon unless they are a lot more expensive as I often have vouchers on there to use.
For the EDT the 30ml size sells for between £27 and £40, The 50ml ranges from £32 to around £50 and finally the 75ml goes for anything from £40 to around £65 so as you can see the prices vary considerably so it pays to search for a good deal.
The eau de Parfum is a lot more expensive but the scent lasts better.
Remember once you open a bottle they do begin to deteriorate and they last better in a cooler place and in the dark so don't through away the boxes and store them in a drawer or cupboard and somewhere cool.
Yes it is a very exotic and pleasantly feminine scent despite Gucci's claims at being masculine. It lasted a fair time for the price but I would have hoped for a longer lasting scent really. It is packaged well and I like the bottle, especially the lovely gold, chunky stopper.
Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username.
I have never been a massive Gucci fan but this fragrance certainly helps to convert me, it is a strong, very feminine fragrance that has excellent staying power and is very suitable for an evening out somewhere classy rather than as a day scent. I paid £40 for a 50ml bottle so it is reasonably priced in my opinion.
The bottle is pretty neat, a solid square glass design and a shaped angled top. It is a stylish design despite the substantial weight to it and the solid appearance and quite elegant in its own particular way. In terms of the actual fragrance there is a nice spicey edge to this perfume which develops after the initial sweetness has faded. There are some very womanly qualities to this scent with some deep textures to it. The initial fragrances that I detect from the top notes of pear and guava is a fruity sweetness that soon fades and is dominated by the more spicey notes such as patchouli and something called Tahitian tiare flower which I have never come across before. There is also a hint of honey in this as well as a certain strong muskiness that combines really well with the warmth of the patchouli.
I love this fragrance, it is a strong scent and rather sophisticated, it also has excellent staying power and lasts for the whole evening and is still detectable the next day which for me is a sure sign of quality. I like the way that the scent develops from a sweet smell into something far more mature and classy feeling and the level of muskiness is just about right for me. I said at the start of the review that for me it was more of an evenning scent however I could also see this being worn to business meetings and it is a very strong feminine scent that is quite noticeable without dominating the room, it is also quite an elegant fragrance and has a certain maturity about it.
Overall I can find little to fault this perfume, it is well priced, the packaging is good and the fragrance is top quality. If I find this in my xmas stocking I will be very happy indeed.
As anyone who reads my other reviews will know, I am an absolute perfume addict. I was browsing through eBay a week ago when I came across Gucci Eau De Perfume II for an excellent price. I knew what this perfume smelt like and knew that I liked it so I placed a bid... and won it for an incredible £4!
The bottle comes inside a baby pink box which has the Gucci logo embossed on the front. The box is quite plain and simple but very girly because of the colour.
The bottle is square shaped while the lid is round making the bottle look quite elgant and certainld different from other bottles.
The bottle and lid are made from thick glass. The bottle is see through and the perfume inside is pink. The bottle being see through is useful as you can always see how much of the scent you have left.
As I already metioned, I got my bottle for £4 on eBay (I love my bargains) so for the purpose of this review, I have done a little research on the internet and found this perfume at the following prices on BeautyBay.com: a 30ml bottle costs £21.99 and a 50ml bottle costs £27.99 which is about average for a designer perfume.
I adore this perfume, I find ity quite girlie and it certyainly makes me feel feminine.
Accoring to their website, this perfume includes ingredients like blackberries, blackcurrant, mandarin, violet, jasmine, heliotrope and cedar wood.
I think this perfume is light and fresh and is certainly a more modern smelling perfume with lots of fruity bursts!
Does The Smell Last
I sometimes find that the 'light' perfumes tend to fade very quickly but that isnt the case with this one. Although the smell is light and fruity, the smell does remain on your skin, clothes etc all day.
I just apply the perfume at the beginning of the day and can still smell it easily on my clothes towards the end of the day.
Im pleased to have found a scent that isnt heavy and musky and can still be smelt at the end of the day.
Who Would This Scent Suit?
I think this scent would suit most woman regardless og age, as long as they enjoy light and fruit fragrances. For woman that prfer the musky fragrances, I would avoid this!
Gucci actually have a fairly wide range or perfumes. To name a few: Gucci Rush, Gucci Rush 2, Gucci Envy, Gucci Envy Me 2, Gucci and Gucci Woman.
I would certainly recommend this perfume. I actually first smelt this perfume ages agao but I am too tight to buy them when they are a their full price and more often than not I wait until I find them for a better price on eBay. Since buying this, it has become one of my favourite scents. I always feel very girlie when I wear this scent and it also makes me feel quite summery, because of the scent being light and fresh, it would be perfect for the summer.
The price is about average for a designer perfume and not too bad compared to some other perfume prices.
Last week at work the conversation turned, as it often does, to being rich beyond your wildest dreams. I asked my colleagues if they could spend one million pounds in one day on items for themselves - they would only get to keep the items if they reached the one million pounds mark, otherwise they got nothing. This could not include a house or property and they could only buy one of each thing so they couldn't buy 20 pairs of their favourite jeans to stock up!
I was surprised to hear more than a few colleagues saying they wouldn't be able to manage spending that much money in 24 hours even after being reminded they could start shopping online at 12:00am!
One of the things I said I would do would be to buy almost every perfume going! I absolutely love getting new perfumes and I ask for one every Christmas from my fiancé!
Gucci by Gucci 50ml eau de toilette was one I received a few years ago for Christmas, but I have hardly used it as I have so many other fragrances.
~ Packaging ~
It comes in a dusky rose metallic box with a brown stripe down the middle and a gold stripe on top of the brown stripe. In the bottom left hand corner of the box are the words "Gucci by Gucci". It is a simple enough design.
~ Bottle ~
The bottle itself is a chunky rectangular shape with very thick glass. It is also fairly simple with two frosted glass stripes down the front back and top of the bottle and the Gucci by Gucci logo on the bottom left hand corner of the bottle. There is a gold coloured charm around the neck of the bottle, which doesn't come off and the gold coloured rectangular lid of the bottle really completes the design. The lid is rather heavy which makes me think it must be real gold. Just kidding, but it is a heavy lid! The perfume itself has a slight orangey colour to it.
~ Scent ~
The scent is quite floral and heavy with top notes of guava and pear, heart notes of Tahitian tiare flower and base notes of musk and honey detectable. It is strong, but not overpowering and I have found that the fragrance lasts all day without fading.
I think it is a beautiful fragrance. Do you really think Gucci would give this the name Gucci by Gucci - their signature scent unless it was anything short of beautiful?
I am in my mid-twenties and love this fragrance, but I see this fragrance as one perhaps better suited to women a little bit older, maybe in their forties because of how floral and heavy it is.
Gucci says of this scent, "Gucci by Gucci is the signature fragrance for the accomplished, modern woman who, just as iconic women of the past, will be remembered for her unique ability to merge strength and ambition with a sensual, feminine appeal."
~ Price and availability ~
Gucci by Gucci eau de toilette is available in 30ml, 50ml and 75ml bottles. I have the 50ml bottle and I think it is just the right size - not too small, but not too big either. I don't think the 75ml bottle will be too big, but the 30ml bottle may look too small - I have not seen this outside of its box.
The 30ml bottle is available on cheapsmells.com for just £27.75, but usually retails at £37.00.
The 50ml bottle is available on cheapsmells.com for £31.95 instead of the RRP of £49.00.
The 75ml bottle is available on cheapsmells.com for £43.45 instead of the RRP of £65.00.
(You don't have to pay for postage and packing on cheapsmells.com either.)
They are available at their full Recommended Retail Prices at Debenhams or Boots as well as most department stores.
The eau de parfums are available for a bit extra, but they come in a dark coloured bottle and it is not half as nice a bottle in my opinion.
~ Overall ~
Overall I think this is a lovely scent and it would make a great gift for someone. I'm not usually a huge fan of floral scents and none of the notes sound particularly appealing to me, but the fragrance is elegant, unique and long lasting and I love it. The bottle is gorgeous as well - chunky rectangular glass and a chunky gold coloured lid to complete the design. When looking up the price of this fragrance to write this review I was shocked to see how cheap it is. I'd say it is well worth the money.
Gucci by Gucci is the signature fragrance for the accomplished modern woman who just as iconic women of the past will be remembered for her unique ability to merge strength and ambition with a sensual feminine appeal / The top of the fragrance emerges with an unexpected and exotic blend of guava and pear bringing uniqueness and modernity / The heart adds a rich sensual femininity with the Tahitian Tiare flower bringing creaminess to an unconventional bouquet / Musky notes and honey add sensuality and warmth to the strength of the patchouli /
