My boyfriend surprised me the other day by buying me another perfume as a little present. I'm addicted to perfume and there is always a new one that I want. The newest one added to my collection is Gucci Envy Me 2. I actually found out after he bought it that this is a limited edition perfume so I'm a very lucky girl. Packaging This perfume comes in a very classy looking box which is a light green (mint) colour. The Gucci logo is embossed all over the box in various places. Gucci Envy Me 2 is written across the front of the box in silver writing and the 'Me' of the title is written in pink! The bottle itself has the same sort of colour scheme at the box, the bottle is a mint colour but the glass is frosted so you can still actually see how much perfume you have left which I find very useful. The lid for bottle is a slighter darker green than the rest of the bottle and has Gucci Envy Me 2 written on in. The bottle is very tall and square shaped. Price Seeing as this was bought as a present for me, I had to do a bit of research to get the prices and I found that this perfume costs £29.04 for a 50ml bottle and £39.04 for 100ml. These prices I found on the website www.chepsmells.com. What Does It Smell Like? This perfume is very light and would be perfect to wear on a nice summers day, the scent is has a very fresh and clean smell to it (but not in a clinical way) which means that the perfume is very refreshing. The ingredients of the perfume include orange, magnolia, violet, rose, heliotrope and patchouli. I am unsure of a couple of the ingredients but whatever they are, they work so well together and create a perfume that is suitable for all occasions. Does The Smell Last? To be honest, the perfume does not last as long as some of the others in my collection. Towards the end of the day, you can barely smell it on yourself and if you can, its only a very faint smell. I think this is probably due to the fact that the perfume is designed to be light and refreshing. I always find that the heavier perfumes have better staying power but this perfume smells so nice that you can definitely forgive the fact that the smell doesn't last as long as some of the others on the market. Range Gucci actually have a fairly wide range or perfumes. To name a few: Gucci Rush, Gucci Rush 2, Gucci Envy, Gucci Envy Me and Gucci Woman. Summary I would definitely recommend this perfume. The smell is so light and refreshing and certainly makes you feel very feminine. This isn't a perfume for woman who don't like the sweet and girlie perfumes - don't get me wrong, this perfume is not sickly sweet but is definitely a more girlie one than some of my others. The downside to this is that that smell doesn't last as long as I would like, meaning that I often have to use more and maybe reapply it if I am going on a night out. The other downside is that it is a limited addiction so will not be available everywhere
I would say that gucci Envy is probably in my top 5 of favourite perfumes ever. I've been using it for years and tried a sample of this which encouraged me to buy it. It was only recently that I tried this one, but I have tried lots of Gucci perfumes and they seem to be good quality scents so I am happy to keep trying the rest of the brand. I got a 50ml bottle of this out of the Perfume Shop down my local high street and it cost me £18.99. I think this was first launched as a special or limited edition but after a quick look online then it seems to still be for sale. I think you can still get this in a 100ml bottle as well, and as usual that works out a bit cheaper per ml. The bottle design is the same idea as the Gucci Envy. Just a slim rectangular shaped bottle with a square lid. This has a more blue colouring to it compared to the green and silver of the original one. It looks alright. Quite a classic looking bottle. There is a few different notes in this and these include, Rose, Magnolia, Orange, Heliotrope, Patchouli and Violet. So a mix of floral, a dash of heavier slightly musky scent and a dash of Fruit from the Orange note. This isn't a light and sparkling as the original, but this is nice in a more perhaps evening kind of scent. When you first spray this it smells quite strong even after just 2 squirts on your wrist or that, but after this dries then it becomes a bit more subtle and turns into a nice sort of subtle but noticible scent. This is a nice enough scent, but just not exactly the kind of scent that I totally go for. It makes a nice change, but there is other similar scented Perfumes out there that seem to stand out a little bit more for me. Perhaps worth a try if you like other Perfumes in the Envy range, but I will stick to the original and best in my view. If this is priced at around the same as the original Envy me then I personally would buy that one as I do like it more than this one. It is more lighter and fruiter than Me 2 which I find to be more heavier and muskier. But if unlike me you prefer a more musky and floral fragrance, then this is certainly the one for you.
As you can tell from my previous review, I am a huge fan of the Gucci Envy Me fragrance. Therefore, when a limited edition Gucci Envy Me 2 came out, I had to try it. Like I do with all perfumes first, I tested this in Debenhams. Straight away it reminded me of the original Gucci Envy Me, but it was slightly heavier. This one smells more muskier and less fruity than the original, so if you like more musky fragrances then you might prefer this one to the original Envy Me. I would also say this is more of a floral fragrance too. This fragrance includes a delicious mix of orange, magnolia and violet sweetened with a heart of rose and heliotrope, deepened by patchouli. These are very similar to the original and I do think the magnolia scent is very strong in that, but not so noticeable in this one. The scent does last on your skin all day, this being one of the things I like to find out when testing a product, not just the actual smell of it! This perfume was the same price as the original Gucci Envy Me and as I preferred that one slightly more than this, I didn't consider buying it. That was until the perfume appeared on ASOS.com. As it was limited edition I didn't think this would be available for long, and when ASOS reduced the perfume from £36 for a 50ml bottle to £16. I had to buy it! I no longer see this perfume in shops but it is still available online from websites such as cheapsmells and Amazon, priced at around £25 for 30ml, £34 for 50ml and £40 for 100ml. It is no longer available on ASOS for £16! If this is priced at around the same as the original Envy me then I personally would buy that one as I do like it more than this one. It is more lighter and fruiter than Me 2 which I find to be more heavier and muskier. But if unlike me you prefer a more musky and floral fragrance, then this is certainly the one for you.
I really love this perfume. It has a smell which is somehow both sweet and a little musty so that it smells gorgeous but doesn't give me the headache that some other musty perfumes do. I would guess that people who love the musty, heavier side of the perfume spectrum may find this a little too sweet? I am only guessing that, would be interesting to know... ********** The Bottle ********** A simple rectangular light green bottle with a faint pattern all over it. The name Gucci Envy Me 2 is written on just one side of the cap. I guess it's a fairly average bottle rather than, for example, the fancy bottle that Gucci by Gucci comes in, but for me a stunning bottle is more a nice plus than a deciding factor when I choose my perfume. ********** Notes and Smell ********** This is a floral perfume, although I don't always like describing perfumes I like in this way as if someone described a perfume as floral to me I would have visions of an overpowering sweet flowery smell, and this (and the other floral perfumes I like) doesn't smell like this to me. It has notes of orange, violet leaf, magnolia, rose, purple heliotrope, patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood. The smell isn't overpowering or headache-inducing, and it has reasonable staying power (not as good as Issy Myake for me, but still stays on pretty well and for probably the first half of the night at least). It is quite sweet but not too sweet, and a fairly delicate smell but while being noticeable and pretty distinctive. In comparison to Gucci by Gucci it is a lot softer and less musty. ********** Price ********** It is around £21 for 30ml and £28 for 50ml. While it hasn't quite reached the pedestal where my absolute favourite perfumes Pure Poison and Issy Myake reside (that's a tough job!), it's still probably in my top 5 and I would definitely give it a smell in a department store to see if it's for you.
