      Armani Code perfume

Do you have the code? Perfume can evoke so many wonderful memories and just one sniff of a perfume that you associate with a special moment can take you right back to that time and place and bring all the memories flooding back. I first wore this perfume around the time my son was born and to sniff it now always makes me think of his first days and brings a smile to my face. I was initially attracted to this lovely perfume bottle and then when I smelt this perfume and I was hooked. This is a very pretty perfume bottle and one that looks quite different from a lot of normal, boring looking perfume bottles on the market today. The bottle is quite tall and thin and has the most amazing midnight blue colour to it on the top part of the bottle. This electric midnight. Lie colour then fades to a lighter, more calming shade of blue but they are very beautiful colours for a perfume bottle. Then there is a black silhouette pattern on the top of the bottle which to me looks like trees in the moonlight and it's a haunting and beautiful pattern. Armani tell you to, "Be unforgettable with the alluring fragrance of Armani Code For Women." they describe the fragrance as being, "Based around a luminous harmony of orange blossom, ginger and sandalwood, Armani Code adds notes of bitter orange, sweet Italian orange, jasmine, vanilla and honey to create an irresistible fusion fragrance." I absolutely adore the fragrance of jasmine and this is a very sweet, warm smelling perfume and the fruity notes are absolutely beautiful. Armani suggest that this is a perfume for evening wear and I would agree with that, it's fairly strong and lasts quite well once you have sprayed it on and I do tend to wear it more in the evenings as I find it a bit heavy for day time wear. The price is quite reasonable. A 30ml bottle costs in the £25 region and this is a nice sexy perfume I recommend.

A nice enough fragrance for evening wear, but doesn't really stand out from others

I've had miniature bottle of Armani Code for ages and for some reason haven't got around to using it until recently, I think it just didn't appeal to me as much as the other fragrances I've been using, but I can't say why. I got my miniature bottle in a gift set, but a 30ml bottle of this stuff will set you back £40, which is definitely more expensive than most. The bottle looks nice, as you can see from the picture above it is a tall, thin bottle made of a blue glass which graduates from light to dark, with a pretty flowery design on one side. It does look quite elegant and expensive, but I can't say it's one of my favourite designs. The perfume combines top notes of orange flower with mid notes of madagascar vanilla, fresh ginger and honey and base notes of jasmine and sandalwood accords. I can't say I even notice the top note of orange flower because the strong chemical scent on first applying the perfume takes a while to die down and once it does I'm into the mid notes where I get a warm, musky scent with a hint of spiciness from the ginger. I was surprised to read that there was vanilla in there as my nose didn't detect it at all.The mid notes last really well and while the base notes of the jasmine and sandalwood soon begin to come through making the scent deeper and richer, the mid notes stick around until the whole fragrance has died down. All in all I find it a nice scent, but to me it doesn't have anything that sets it apart from other fragrances, it doesn't smell unique. I find this one of the best lasting fragrances I've used, lasting a good 10 hours or more with no need for a top-up. It's one of those fragrances that I can still smell on clothes days after wearing it. It is definitely one to watch how much you put on as too much is too strong and overpowering, but a couple of sprays gives a nice subtle scent which is noticeable but won't choke people. I personally feel this is more of an evening scent because of the depth and muskiness of it, but I do know people who wear this as their everyday perfume. Overall I think this is a decent perfume but for me is just isn't unique enough, it reminds me of other fragrances rather than being immediately recognisable, and I've never had any compliments on it like I have with other perfumes, so I don't really think it's worth the money.

          a mysterious scent by Armani

With Armani, I really admire them as a fashion brand, but hadn't thought much about trying out their fragrances. However, the advert for this fragrance was on quite a lot recently with Megan Fox advertising it and the advert is good at catching attention but it seemed more to me like it was a mans fragrance being advertised. However, when I went into my recent department store and saw this bottle it stood out to me right away as it is very eye catching and mysterious looking. PACKAGING The bottle is clear and it rises up into a dark blue tint which is beautiful and it is surrounded on one side with black flowers which just adds that touch to the design. It is a similar shape to Flower by Kenzo being tall and slim and cylindrical but I like this shape as it goes in at the waist, so to speak just to make it easy to hold. The lid for this is black and then the spray head is inside. The box is very similar to the bottle with it having 'Armani Code' written on the front and it is an 'eau de parfum'. ARMANI CODE I expected a really heavy fragrance from this one as usually higher fashion brands make much heavier fragrances but this isn't too heavy at all. It has a light musky scent to it as well as an almost soapy tone and it has a sweetness if you take in the scent with depth. On first spray it smells quite orangey and tangy but this soon fades right away to leave that musky scent and it is quite light and fresh at the same time with that mix of faint florals added to the blend. It is a very deep scent that throws out a lot of notes to the wearer. Looking up the description of this scent, it is described as being ' An orange blossom waterfall cascades skin with a caress of honey' which sounds just like what I had picked up on. However, looking at the actual notes included the top notes are jasmine and orange which is why that orangey tangy scent hit me upon first spray. The heart notes are orange blossom to add to the top layer and the base notes are honey and vanilla which is where that deeper sweetness seems to come into it. The fragrance is made up of beautiful notes and what I like the most about this is that for once I could actually smell each individual note clearly rather than it being masked by a stronger note. The fragrance is very romantic and quite seductive and I like that it is quite intriguing and it really could be worn well in the evening or if you want to wear it in the daytime that would work well too, it is a powerful, feminine scent and the more it is on the more the scent develops into something sweeter. I found that I wanted to spray a couple of sprays for this scent to really ensure that it stayed on strong but you could spray lighter as well. Being an eau de parfum, I think this has a great staying power and I really found that I could smell this on all day when I wore it so there was no need to have to reapply this and also it was just nice that it kept strong all day and didn't fade as I wore it. The fragrance is good quality and definitely has the base notes come out as it stays on. I could hardly smell the orange tones the longer this was on but that was ok with me as I still love the smell of this. It is the kind of fragrance that is adaptable for all age groups and I like that about it, a younger woman may feel empowered wearing this and an older woman may have more confidence wearing this so it gives each individual wearer, something a bit different. It is a versatile scent that lasts the length of wear and it smells great. COST To buy this perfume online at theperfumeshop.com it is £39.50 for the 30ml EDP, the 50ml EDP is £53.50 and the 75ml EDP is £71.50. It is about standard for a high fashion label EDP but eBay may have some good deals on this. The official Armani website is http://www.armani.com/gb where you can buy this online.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great evening scent, but a little expensive.

I like wearing perfume. It's not something I wear all the time, but it is something I like to wear on occasion. My favourite 'day' perfume is Ralph Lauren's 'Ralph' but that definitely is more of a summery day time scent. A few months ago when looking for something to wear more in the evenings I decided to opt for a bottle of Armani 'Code'. The bottle itself was enough to draw my attention. It's a tall, sleek and slender bottle with a dark blue colouring and frosted glass appearance on part of it, with a black flowery design. It looks sophisticated and elegant, especially when next to my 'Ralph' bottle which is short and stumpy in comparison. The lid is also a dark blue colour. Easy to remove and put back on - simply clips on as opposed to being needed to be screwed on and off. The bottle does also appear to be quite sturdy. I have dropped mine a few times and all is still good in the world, and the bottle is still in one piece. So... More importantly... What does it smell like? This perfume has a citrusy scent to it. It has orange blossom heart notes, with top notes being orange and jasmine. The base notes of this perfume are honey and vanilla. This results in an overall scent of a citrusy floral mix. The perfume itself is quite strong, so you don't need much of it. With such powerful scents it is possible to be a bit too liberal with it and the end result isn't that great. However, when applied in a reasonable amount (i.e. a couple of sprays on the wrists or so) the result is a beautiful evening scent. The scent of the perfume has a sophisticated feel to it, which I personally feel is also suggested by the bottle. It has a husky seductiveness to it. When first applied, like I say, it has a powerful scent. I find though after just a couple of minutes it settles to this husky seductiveness that I love. The scent lasts a long time, which is good for an evening out. Means a bottle of perfume is one less thing to be carrying around with you as you won't really need a top up throughout the evening. Armani Code definitely has a distinct scent. It's hard to describe scents in words. But although it is a scent I love for evenings, it's not really a daytime scent, nor is it to everybody's tastes, so I'd recommend you trying a 'sample' bottle in a shop before committing to buying if you're not sure. Give yourself a little spray, give it a few minutes or so before deciding. Price wise, it tends to vary quite a lot, so if this is a scent you love then shop around. I actually bought mine at an event we were having at work - every so often we get these retailers in who set up a table of goods. Sometimes it sweets, make-up, books, etc. This particular time it was perfume from Fragrance Direct - http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/ They are currently retailing the 75ml bottle for £47.99, whereas the Perfume Shop are currently retailing the 50ml bottle for around this price. So shop around for the best deal you can find. It is worth it if you like the scent. I am going to give the product 4 stars. With that all important 5th star being dropped for the fact I feel the price is quite high, (especially when compared to my favourite daytime scent), and that it is such a strong scent meaning it can be over-powerful and it takes a few minutes to 'settle'.

              Disadvantages

A disappointing fragrance and not one for me!

One of my little nick nack gifts from my husband this Christmas was a selection of designer fragrances, which was an ideal gift, as I love to try new fragrances, without wanting to spend the money on a whole bottle which I may not like. This selection had miniature bottles which meant I could try before I may buy in the future. One of the four fragrances in the box was this Armani Code, one that I have heard of thanks to their adverts. My miniature bottle is identical to that shown above, and I have to say that I was very impressed with the bottle. I thought it looked elegant and stylish with the blue and black tinge on the bottle. You can expect to pay around £40 for a 30 ml of this eau de parfum- not cheap. This eau de parfum was originally launched in 2006 by Georgio Armani. The top notes of this eau de parfum are orange blossom, bitter orange and sweet orange, the former from Africa, with the latter from Italy. Middle notes of Tunisian orange blossom and and sambac jasmine, and base notes of vanilla and honey. When you first put this fragrance on I think it has a very strong, almost masculine scent to it and t reminded me for all the world of one of my husband's aftershave - not really what I want to smell like! I even checked the box the sample came in to check that it was for women, as I thought it was such a masculine scent. However, it does settle somewhat and the orange that is so prominent in the make up of this fragrance can really be smelt. It also becomes more feminine the longer it settles on the skin. However my big problem with this fragrance is that I simply do not feel that it lasts a good length of time. A few hours after applying, if I sniff my skin where I applied the fragrance, I can only get a very faint whiff, which is disappointing for a so called designer fragrance which is costly. All in all, although I am happy to have tried this fragrance, I really wouldn't buy a bottle for myself. It is too masculine for my liking, although it does settle. I tend to like more floral light fragrances, but I simply do not get this with this fragrance. I think it is disappointing for me for such a reputable name.

Another fresh feminine perfume from Armani

Mr Lools refuses to buy me any form of perfumes if he has to choose them himself. I do have a "type" (fresh, fruity and not too heavy) but he describes my taste as too picky. So when he does want to purchase a fragrance as a gift for me we tend to wander around the fragrance section in a department store and he judges my reaction to certain fragrances. We were replacing his Armani Code for Men fragrance in Boots so as we were stopped at the Armani Code display I decided to give myself a spray of the Armani Code for women perfume. After not so subtly exclaiming how much I liked the scent I was very pleased that after 7 years of living together he understood my "hints" and for my birthday he bought me a bottle of Armani Code for Women. ***Armani Code*** The perfume is described to be "Armani Code for Women Eau de Parfum is simple yet sensual, comforting yet captivating. A spellbinding fragrance evoking the same elegance as a Giorgio Armani dress sense" The perfume includes: Top Notes of Orange Blossom, African Bitter Orange and Sweet Italian Orange. Middle Notes of Tunisian Orange blossom and Sambac jasmine Base Notes of vanilla and honey. From reading the description of the scent the predominance of the orange ingredients does immediately make you think that this could be a very citrusy fragrance however it is fruity but less tangy and citrusy than you may expect and has a softer sweeter scent because of the honey and vanilla. When Armani Code is categorised on fragrance websites can be found in the "fresh" fragrance category or the "feminine". The fragrance comes in three different sizes which are 30ml, 50ml and 75ml. Prices vary considerably for each of the sizes depending on where you buy. As far as fragrances go this is a slightly higher than average priced scent because it is designer but not quite in the "high premium" bracket as far as ladies fragrances go. Boots, Superdrug and department stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis all sell the three sizes of Armani Code. Prices tend to be £37.00 for a 30ml bottle, £48.00 for a 50ml bottle and £65.00 for a 75ml bottle. You can purchase the fragrance a lot cheaper from online perfume retailers such as www.fragrancedirect.com , www.cheapscents.com and www.thefragranceshop.com . For all three sizes the online retailers tend to be £10 cheaper than the main department stores. ***Armani Code Bottle*** The fragrance bottle is a long thin bottle which is slightly narrower in the middle and tapers out towards the ends. The colour of the bottle is blue which is a faded effect going from a very light blue at the base to a dark navy blue at the top of the bottle. There are black flowers printed on the bottle. The bottle is quite simple but has a dark feminine elegant look to it which looks very nice when displayed on your dressing table. The tapered top of the bottle has a lid which fits on and off which is dark navy blue. Under the lid is the perfume spray. The lid is reasonably secure so you could pop this in a handbag or travel bag but I feel as this is quite a heavy glass bottle it is not an ideal bottle to travel with. I like the bottle as it is very pretty and feminine but I personally feel for quite a fresh fragrance the bottle gives the feel of a floral fragrance, not a fresh and fruity fragrance. If the flowers were removed though I do feel the bottle would perhaps be a little too similar to the Armani Code for men bottle (the aftershave has a darker blue bottle) therefore the flowers I feel are there to specifically demonstrate this is the female version of the fragrance. ***Wearing It*** Although I had sprayed this perfume on myself as a tester I was keen to actually wear the perfume properly because when trying on perfume I tend to be polite and only give one quick spray. What I liked about Armani Code when I tried it was that it was a very fresh, clean scent but still had a soft feminine scent about it which I felt would be versatile to wear for more special occasions. I do think that if I had been searching online for a new perfume and read the description of Armani Code I may have been slightly put off by the prevalence of orange (from a number of countries and continents may I add) and felt that this perfume would have left me smelling like I had poured orange juice all over myself. But it certainly does not smell this way. When I first used my own bottle of Armani Code I gave myself two quick sprays on my pulse points and immediately I could notice the scent of the fragrance. I must say I was slightly alarmed at just how much stronger the scent was on my skin with that one extra spray and I do feel that for only two sprays the overall scent initially is a lot stronger than most perfumes. The initial scent is very fruity and you do get quite a strong citrusy type scent as the fragrance hits your skin. For those that have used the DKNY Woman the scent of Armani Code is very similar in this initial burst. Although you can smell the orange citrus scent this is not overly sharp and zesty and not unpleasant. After a minute this very strong scent does almost vanish and the very strong citrus burst is more of a sweeter and softer fruity scent. Although the scent is very fruity I do not think it is instantly recognisable as an orange scent more of a sweet clean type of fruity scent and actually reminds me very much of apples. As the Armani Code scent develops on your skin after 30 minutes or so I think it has a much softer more feminine fragrance to it which I personally feel distinguishes it from being a "daytime only fragrance" which I would categorise other fruity perfumes such as DKNY Woman as. There is a definite sweet scent to the Armani Code fragrance and this is a soft sweet honey type scent which does not get too sickly sweet as it is balanced out by hints of fruit which I actually think if you sniff your skin up close smells very much like pink grapefruit. The fruity yet soft sweet feminine scent makes Armani Code noticeable so it can be worn for evening occasions but because I do not think it has a very strong distinctive aroma to it I do not feel it would be categorised as a perfume which could be too much of a statement and that others would find unpleasant. I have had a lot of compliments when wearing this perfume from a variety of people of different ages. I do feel a lot of my friends (in their late 20's) tend to really like this perfume and also own it. I do not consider buying perfume a safe choice as a gift but because of the number of compliments and the fact that Armani Code is quite inoffensive in its scents it would make a good gift. I think for those that like fresh fruity fragrances with a sweet but not overly sweet scent this would be perfect. I would say for females that like a stronger more noticeable musky type scents Armani Code might not be suitable as it is quite clean and fresh smelling rather than being a statement perfume. I find that Armani Code has better staying power on my skin than a lot of perfumes that I own and if I spray this on my skin on a morning then by the evening the scent has faded but if I sniff my skin I will still be able to smell the perfume on my skin. For daytime wear I tend to spray two squirts of this perfume on my skin. I personally feel this is enough to be smelt if you come close to me but not so that is overpowering. For evening wear I probably give myself an extra squirt as I feel this makes the sweet scent on my skin more noticeable after a few hours of wear. I do feel that more than 3 squirts would make this a very overpowering scent. ***Overall*** As someone who likes fresh, fruity and sweet scents I would definitely recommend Armani Code to others who like similar types of scents. My favourite scents which I feel are similar are Gucci II, Hugo Women and DKNY Women. I was a little concerned at the prevalence of orange scents when reading the description of the perfume but this is not overpowering and the citrus scent is more sweet, soft and fresh rather than too zesty or bitter. What I like about Armani Code is that the fresh fruity soft scent it has on skin makes it perfect for day time wear when sprayed on lightly but if you want something a little heavier for more special occasions if you give yourself one extra spray of this scent the perfume is still suitable as it has a sultry warm sweet scent with the notes of honey and vanilla making it very feminine. At £65 for a 75ml bottle this is not a cheap perfume and it does carry the higher price tag that most designer perfumes have but I feel that the perfume has more staying power than many cheaper perfumes and two sprays of this on your skin is ample therefore a bottle lasts me quite a long time in comparison to some of the cheaper fragrances I own. A good choice from Mr Lools even if he did have some help choosing this for me.

                  Disadvantages

                  Strong but pleasant

I'm a big fan of perfume in general and always have to apply it before leaving the house otherwise it feels like something is missing. I received this as a gift for my 30th birthday, and was very pleased because I'd tried it on in Boots a few weeks earlier and loved it (I obviously dropped enough hints!!) I've had Armani fragrances before and as a general rule it's my favourite brand of perfume. I was drawn to this one because of the attractive flower design on the bottle - although it's only the smell that matters it is a bonus if something looks nice sitting on your dressing table. I tried it and loved it straight away, it's quite a powerful fragrance so you don't need to spray a lot of it. I tend to just spray it into the air and walk through it so I don't smell too overpowering. It's a long lasting scent and you only need to use it in the morning because it will last all day. For this reason it will last a while so you do get value for money. My fiance has a heightened sense of smell and often finds walking through perfume counters gives him a headache. He liked this perfume when I first tried it on in Boots but since then I think he has found it overpowering and I do notice it lingers in the car and on clothes after you've worn them (not good if you're borrowing your fella's hoodie!). I could never get away with being someone's mistress, they'd smell this perfume a mile off!! I think maybe after wearing it for a while I now find it a little overpowering, and would like to switch to a more subtle perfume next time. It is a gorgeous fragrance though, and for anyone who likes to make a statement when they walk in the room it would be perfect.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

Sultry / sensual / seductive....or just plain dirty

I'm not a big buyer of perfumes but I never say no to a free sample, and get especially excited when, instead of just a scent strip on an advert in a magazine, I get a whole vial to play with. I'm on all sorts of mailing lists and I think that's how I ended up with this, as I didn't request it but was quite happy to accept it. I kept it for a time when I would be travelling, and that's how it ended up making the trip to Colombia with me. I have seen this in Duty Free, and it comes in a lovely, attractive, tall, thin bottle as shown in the picture, which would definitely make it stand out next to the more squat ones on a dressing table. Apparently it "is designed to evoke the same elegance as a Giorgio Armani dress" which brings me on to my next point. Perfumes really confuse me. What do fashion designers know about perfume? What do random celebrities? I would never buy something like this just because of the name, but I suppose the flip side is that I wouldn't NOT buy it because of the name either. And at least it's a little less embarrassing than purchasing a Jade Goody scent and then blushing crimson anytime anyone asks you what you're wearing. Armani Code is a much more heady and potent scent than I am used to, but I surprised myself by liking it from the get go. It's more of an evening scent than it is a daytime one for me because it smells quite rich and sultry, with a musky, sensual feel, and I love how long it lasts, meaning I don't have to carry it round with me for a refresher, even after hours have passed.. Obviously this is less important with my trial size anyway, but for those investing in the larger bottle it's useful to know. The features of this female Armani Code are top notes of African bitter orange and sweet Italian orange, heart notes of Tunisian orange blossom absolute and jasmine Sambac and base notes of orange blossom, vanilla and a drop of honey. That's fine in theory, but I always want to know how something smells when actually applied to a living, breathing human being. Scents smell different on different people so this is based on how I think it smells on me. When first applied it's quite 'boozy', and not all that feminine. Although this is the 'pour femme' version, it reminds me of cologne more than perfume at first sniff, and I had to be careful not to apply too much as it could quickly become overwhelming. Over time the scent mellows slightly and the citrus definitely emerges more though for me it still has that hint of masculinity to it, tinged with a heavy musk (not your Body Shop White Musk!) I definitely prefer the scent that comes out over time, mainly because when the first drops hit your skin it is very strong and, if it was one someone else, I would probably move away from them at that point. It quickly becomes a much more wearable scent, however, you just need to be organised and spray it a little earlier in the getting ready period than you might normally, to give it time to settle. I do get compliments when I wear this, but I sometimes feel they're like the compliments I get when I slap on make-up - neither is something I normally wear, so it could be the difference people are commenting on rather than the scent itself. To me as someone who doesn't wear masses of perfume, this is quite a 'dirty' scent and makes me want to do all sorts of naughty things that lighter, flirty day time scents don't inspire. They say 'sultry and sensual and seductive', I say 'dirty'. This is why I do not work in perfume marketing. My sample was a glass vial, and it recently broke. There wasn't much left so I wasn't too sad, but my nostrils hissed in alarm at what it did to my bathroom. Even once I had wiped it up I could still detect it then and for several days - it stank and it stayed, and unlike when applied to skin, when it's splattered onto tiles it doesn't fade nearly quickly enough. Obviously you are not simply supposed to break your bottle all over your bedroom or bathroom, but for me this is now my lasting memory of the scent which is a shame as originally I like it, but now I want to dock marks. In the region of anything from £30 to more than £50 for 50ml it is definitely worth shopping around, and I do think you are paying for the brand name. I think it could have quite limited appeal, and it is super hard to explain scents in a way that make people reading 'smell' them, so I would recommend you try this in a department store or duty free first. It's not for everyone, and the initial hit is very strong, but I did like what it faded to over time, and how long it lasted, so it's a tentative recommendation that you give it a sniff initially and then go from there.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

A perfume that you can't help but like, this scent will draw you in.

Armani Code is the signature scent of my younger sister, so it was with a sense of reassuring familiarity that I discovered a small bottle of it as part of a set I was given for Christmas. I did feel slightly like I was encroaching on her territory by wearing it, but after years of wardrobe raiding and mascara 'borrowing', I suppose that's part of the job description of being a sister! Besides, I had heard that perfumes don't smell the same on different people, so I was interested to see if I would see this in a new light once it was on my own skin. Packaging isn't usually a big factor for me when it comes to making buying choices, but perfume is definitely an exception- I think that an attractive bottle can draw you to a scent, and the most well designed bottles can capture something of the essence of the fragrance inside. This bottle is certainly attractive; tall, thin and curved, with a distinctive royal blue colour overlaid with a pattern of black flowers, it looks simple and elegant. It's definitely feminine, but there's nothing girly about it- rather, it's mysterious and sophisticated. This bottle is certainly one that makes you want to smell what's inside. The miniature bottle I have also features a pull off cap with a stopper attached, although the larger sized bottles (30, 50 and 75ml) are standard sprays. Before I give you my layman's opinion of the scent itself, I'll list the notes as I've found them online (cheating, I know, but my nose really isn't refined enough to pick out these subtle scents yet!): Heart notes: Orange Blossom Top notes: Jasmine, Orange Base notes: Honey, Vanilla According to the same website, this is a 'floral oriental scent', which, if I'm honest, doesn't mean a lot to me. From my point of view, as soon as I open the bottle and catch a whiff, I automatically imagine a busy, modern woman- someone full of energy and drive, juggling work with a thriving social life. She's young but, like the bottle, feminine without being girly. I suppose this mental image reflects the fact that I feel this scent is well suited for either wearing to work or on an evening out. Even my untrained nose can detect the strong, floral elements of this perfume, but it's not overtly sweet or flowery- the scent is deeper and warmer than that. The combination of the different notes draws you in, making this perfume quite intriguing. The scent's staying power is average- it's easily detected for the first few hours, then fades to a pleasant undertone for a few more. Armani Code isn't the cheapest perfume out there, costing between £43 and £52 for a 50ml bottle. Personally, I feel this is slightly overpriced; although it's a scent I like, there are several others in the set that I prefer which cost less, so I probably wouldn't buy this unless it was discounted. Price aside, this is a perfume that I would happily wear throughout the year, and I'm sure that its youthful but sophisticated scent would appeal to the vast majority of young women.

                      Disadvantages

A sweet fragrance that is perfect for a special evening out

Georgio Armani entered the fashion world in 1975 and after creating clothing, jewellery and cosmetics, he ventured into designing fragrances in 1985. In 2004, a fragrance for men called Black Code was created, although it was later renamed Armani Code. Due to the extreme popularity of this fragrance, us lovely ladies got our own version of the fragrance in 2006, also named Armani Code. So, Armani Code is a fragrance which has been around for quite a few years now but it is still selling just as well today. I initially tried the perfume because my mother owned it and I always used to sneak into her cabinet and borrow some of hers when I went to visit. Eventually, having fallen in love with it, I ended up buying my own much to my mother's delight! Inspiration The fragrance is designed to be extremely feminine with mystery entwined in seduction. It claims to make the woman who wears the perfume unforgettable, irresistible and elusive to those around here. The captivating aromas are supposed to embody the dark mystery surrounding a beautiful stranger. Ingredients The fragrance has a touch of the oriental and mixes the aromas of fruitiness with floral notes and stirs them together with a warm depth. Admittedly, some of the ingredients within the fragrance are off putting to me but I can actually only detect the lovely aromas when wearing the fragrance. Tops Notes The top notes are created using the delicate sweetness of the Jasmine flower from India and the juicy sharpness of the bitter Orange fruit from Africa mixed in with the sweetness of the Italian Orange. Middle Notes At the heart there is a further citrus blast which is created by the Tunisian Blossom. Base Notes At the bottom of the fragrance lie two of my favourite scents and the reason that I decided to buy the fragrance. There is a splash of deliciously sweet honey and a gentle body and warmth is created by the scrumptious addition of Madagascar Vanilla. Packaging and Price. The perfume is contained within a fairly heavy glass bottle which makes it a bit of a pain to travel with. The bottle is blue in colour and the shades change as you move up the glass, changing from pale blue to a navy colour. There is a black nature design imprinted onto the glass and the lid is black to match. You remove the lid by pulling it off in order to access the perfume and you push down on the top of the dispenser to spray the perfume. This is a perfume which has held its price and never really become much cheaper over the years. I bought a 30ml bottle of the perfume for £36 which is quite expensive. Also available is a 50ml and 75ml bottle for those who really love the fragrance. These larger sizes obviously cost more. The fragrance can be bought from department stores such as Boots, fragrance stores and also from many online websites. The price may vary slightly so it's worth shopping around. My thoughts If I had read the ingredients before actually smelling this fragrance, I probably wouldn't have gone anyway near it. I don't really like the aromas of citrus fruit and to read that there is sweet orange, bitter orange and orange blossom is very unappealing to me. Strangely enough, it came as a surprise to me to learn about these ingredients as I would never have guessed, orange was included. Now that I know about it, I can detect a citrus blast with the initial application but it fades almost immediately. The aromas that I find are evident and long lasting are the sweetness of the jasmine, honey and vanilla that all mix together to form a deliciously dark and deep fragrance. Together they create a rich scent that I think is better suited to evening wear than day time wear. I have never worn this fragrance without someone commenting on the aroma and their statements are always positive ones, and I can tell that they are not just being polite. Even though it is incredibly evident to others, it still isn't a heavy or overpowering fragrance. I keep mine for best so I don't wear it daily, even so, when I have worn it all day long, it never gets sickly. I find the staying power is fairly good although it does fade with time. If I use it in the morning, I'll need to reapply it in the evening time in order to get the same impact. That said, you don't need to apply much with each application. I find that a few squirts are more than enough which is a good thing when you consider the steep price of the perfume. I think this fragrance is very classy and could never be considered cheap and nasty. It appeals to nearly everyone and I've never met anyone that hated it so it's a good neutral fragrance. I think it could be worn by women of all ages and as it has a timeless quality, I don't really think it's one that you could ever go off if you originally like it. All in all, this is a classy perfume which will get you showered with compliments each time you wear it. It is empowering without being over powering and is the perfect fragrance for an evening out. This is a really delicious fragrance for that special occasion.

Buy if you like lavender/ orange blossom

As I have put in the title, this is one of my favourite fragrances ever. I purchased this at duty free before heading to Morocco and it was about £27 (which is reasonable for a 50ml bottle). I had smelt this scent before and I fell in love with it straight away. The only reason I have not bought it before is because I had too many perfumes to get through. The big selling point of the Giorgio Armani Code is the fragrance. The most prominent fragrance in this perfume is supposedly Orange Blossom. I, however disagree and feel the scents remind me of lavender so any lavender lovers like myself will absolutely love this. It is a very versatile perfume that can be worn appropriately day or night. If one would want to put a season to it, I feel it is appropriate for Autumn and maybe Winter. It's a rather fresh and breezy fragrance. The smell also is a subtle one which means it is not overpowering. I have received may compliments wearing this though one particular friend kept asking if I was wearing one of the Charlie bodysprays which is upsetting considering the cost of a body spray in comparison to a perfume. The bottle is stylish being curvy in shape and purple with a black floral motif at the side. It is topped with a black, curvy lid. Although I personally find this bottle aesthetically pleasing, this typically is not a perfume I would consider to be 'dressing table bottle' because it's not as decorative as other perfume bottles on the market. I would definitely recommend this to others because it a delightful fragrance to wear. However for those looking for a decorative bottle, this may not be worth your money.

                        I love this perfume lots!

___________ ARMANI CODE ___________ -------------- THE PRICE -------------- As I know of Armani Code is sold in 3 sizes, prices are usually around which I have stated below. 30ml: £36.50 50ml: £51.50 75ml: £65.50 If you would like to know where mine was purchased, it was from The Perfume Shop and this is approximately around the price I paid. ---------------------- THE APPEARANCE ---------------------- The Armani Code bottle is absolutely stunning, I think it looks very sophisticated and grown up, I fell in love with it as soon as I lay my eyes on it! Very classy if I do say so myself! When first looking at the bottle, I seen its shape as an hourglass figure, I have heard others say cylinder but to me it will always be a hourglass bottle! The colours on the bottle are simply alluring, there is a deep shade of blue on the glass which fades into a lighter blue as your eyes travel down the bottle, over this is a dark black print of pretty sophisticated looking flowers which seem to hug around the glass..underneath this is the Armani Code logo in black and white writing. The box which this came in as I recall was more a less the same as the bottle, a lovely deep blue ( not as nice as the one on the bottle, but still very nice! ) which faded to a lighter blue as it got to the bottom, it has the same flowers printed over the top of the box and also has the Armani Code logo along with some more useful information on the bottom of the front of the box and the back of the box ( how many ml you get/ingredients ect.. ) Overall, I love this perfume bottle, when looking at it, it seems to just ooze pure classiness, its a stunning piece of work. --------------------- MY EXPERIENCE --------------------- I bought this a long time ago, simply because I went around to my cousins and this was on her make up desk, I had a spray and it smelt so unique, I just had to buy some. With this certain perfume, orange is meant to be the main scent, 2 different types of orange were used, bitter orange from Africa and a sweet Italian orange, below is a list of the scents this perfume contains. Heart notes Orange Blossom Top notes Jasmine, Orange Base notes Honey, Vanilla When first on the smell is strong, as with most perfumes, I straight away get the jasmine and honey coming through and it does smell irresistible, the smell of this perfume makes me feel very sensual and it feels very comforting..as the first minute goes by of being on I can smell the orange coming through, it has a sweet candy smell, but its not sickening, its actually very intoxicating.. The perfume has very good lasting power, I only use 2 sprays of this, the smell of everything mixed together smells divine, the smell of the oranges is definitely the strongest smell which comes through. After around 6 hours of being on the smell of the oranges seems to fade, and the jasmine, honey and vanilla seem to come through a lot more, changing the sweet smell to a warm, floral scent which is OK, but after a while starts to smell like my air freshener so I have to respray! I find this perfume works best for evenings out as I find it too much to wear casually during the day. The smell is very elegant and makes me feel extra grown up! I have been complimented a good few times on this perfume and that shows what a good perfume is! Overall, I recommend this perfume, its very feminine, very sensual and mysterious and definitely worth the price. It may be too sweet for some at first and this is why I say try a tester, try it over the day and see how you feel about it.

Armani have found the code and got it just right with this one!

Well i've found my Armani Code but have you? If not you should get looking! First of all the perfume bottle that this fragrance comes in is beautiful and mysterious looking, it's different to any other bottle i've seen. But most importantly it smells beautfiul and it is a scent i've grown to love. Although the scent includes many florals, it isn't too flowery and old. Armani have got it just right, with a hint of vanilla and honey to blend in with the florals this scent is so different and it's certainly memorable. I also love the name of this perfume, it's a clever one. This perfume is not too girly so it can be worn by any type of lady and it also doesn't wear off easily. Considering i was buying an Armani perfume i expected it to be quite expensive but compared to some other perfumes this wasn't too expensive at all. This is a perfume that is perfect for a night time occasion and it smells so sensual and sexy. I felt elegant wearing this scent, it's not cheap, it's not nasty and it's not overpowering and tacky. It's a perfect balance. You can get a 30ml bottle of Armani Code for around £35, try it!

Stunning perfume, perfect for day and night wear

*Introduction* I was given Armani Code For Women Eau de Parfum as part of a gift set by my boyfriends parents for my 21st birthday. I have more bottle of perfume than I can count on my dressing table but I am always thrilled when I receive another as I have started to get something of an addiction to perfume. Especially ones that smell as good as this! *The Claim* Simple yet sensual, comforting yet captivating. A spellbinding fragrance evoking the same elegance as a Giorgio dress. *About the Product* Orange blossom is the muse of this creation: a miracle of the nature, the quintessence of femininity. A unique creation reveals this flowers full magic and operates its metamorphosis by the incredibly soft embrace of Madagascar vanilla and a touch of honey. Sambac jasmine from India amplifies the radiance and elegance of this celebration of noble materials. An unforgettable fragrance that exudes a mysterious charm. *Price and Availability* Armani Code For Women Eau de Parfum can be bought from a variety of different shops including Debenhams, Boots, The Perfume Shop and House of Fraser. It is also available to buy online from www.boots.com if you prefer to buy perfume online but my advice is to smell it first in a shop. You can buy this perfume in 3 different size bottles. The prices for these average at around: - 30ml bottle: £34 - 50ml bottle: £45 - 75ml bottle: £61 I consider the prices of these bottles to be quite expensive but as it is such a reputable and designer brand and I would be willing to pay these prices to have the perfume again. And even more so as the smell of the perfume is divine! You can also purchase 2 mini 10ml bottles of the perfume for £25 although I would prefer to buy the 30ml bottle. *My Opinion* The packaging: Stylish, classy, mysterious and elegant are just a few words that I would use when describing the packaging of this product. As I received it as part of a 3 piece gift set, I didn't see its 'real' outer packaging but the box that the set came in was a gorgeous deep blue colour and made of hard cardboard which I have subsequently made use of as a box for my pens on the desk in my bedroom. What is important is the design of the bottle of this perfume and you could have this bottle for a few months or even have to have it out in public so you don't want in to look a complete eye sore. The bottle shape is simple yet effective. It is a round tube bottle which is the small width from the top to the bottom. I have the 50ml bottle and it stands at a nice height, not too tall and not too short. The bottle is actually quite simply. There is nothing unique about its shape yet for me it looks special. The colour of the glass is a tinted deep blue colour which changes. It is a gorgeous, deep navy blue at the top of the bottle and the colour gets lighter towards the bottom. I love the colouring of the bottle. It's deep blue colour gives off the feeling of mystery and night, perfect for the evening smell of the perfume. I also like the colour as it is lighter at the bottom part of the bottle, allowing you to see exactly how much of the product is remaining. There is a black floral silhouette design on the top part of the bottle. This pattern oozes sexiness and style. I definitely commend the designers of the bottle of this perfume. It looks sophisticated and chic. And even the lid clicked on and off with ease which is something that usually all perfumes fail miserably at getting right. The smell: Spicy, sexy and sophisticated. These are three words that I would use to describe this striking perfume. It is a fairly strong perfume with orange being the predominant aroma. The second strongest smell is jasmine which is where the floral aroma comes along. This gorgeous aroma stays fresh throughout the day, oozing a sexy scent. I think that the fruity but floral scent of Armani Code is appropriate to wear during both the day and night, however more suited to evening wear than day wear. It is quite strong which means that it is noticeable in the evening if you want to stand out and this is also my reason for thinking that it isn't best for wear during the day, particularly at work. The aroma of this perfume is floral yet fruity with a touch of spicy and quite strong. If you like the smell of orange then this perfume will definitely be one that you will like. Staying power: When sprayed, Armani Code Eau de Parfum lasts for a number of hours but it isn't the best when it comes to endurance. Initially, you think that the perfume will last all day and night as the scent when you first spray is relatively strong although it fades quite significantly within the first hour or two. You will definitely have to reapply if going out in the evening and you want the scent to be as when you have applied. How many squirts of the perfume are required? I think that with this perfume only 2 or 3 sprays are required. One on the neck, one on the body and one on the wrists. This way you can have a nice but not overpowering amount and you can smell its striking aroma. Longevity of the product: The size of the bottle that I own is the 50ml one. As I alternate the perfumes that I wear so frequently, it is quite difficult for me to say accurately how long this bottle lasts but I would take a guess at it lasting about 6-7 months when used every day which is pretty good value. *Would I Recommend This Perfume?* Yes, yes, yes! Armani Code For Women Eau de Parfum is a fabulous perfume that I really do love. The aroma is unlike any others that I have smelt. A truly unique scent. It is a brilliant perfume which is versatile for wear during the day or night. And although it has a distinct smell, I certainly do not believe that it is too strong or overpowering. I think it is a younger persons perfume that is perhaps suited a little more to those under the age of 40 but you may well disagree. Let's just say that I probably wouldn't buy it for my nan. It just wouldn't work. *Overall* Armani Code For Women Eau de Parfum is a stunning perfume that I truly love. There is no question in my mind that I would buy this perfume again in the future, either for myself or for a friend. It has a gorgeous flowery yet musky scent is very unique and one which I think a lot of people will find that they like.

Armani Code: the code of seduction

The fragrance Armani Code for Women Eau de Parfum is a captivating and sensual fragrance. It is simple and elegant and described by Armani as 'a spellbinding fragrance, evoking the same elegance as an Armani dress'. Armani make use of lots of flavours and scents in this unique fragrance including top notes of orange blossom with a touch of Madagascar vanilla, honey and a hint of Indian Sambac jasmine. I love wearing perfume but tend to forget to put any on during the day. However I tend to use this in the evenings; for a night out or dinner with friends. The scent is strong and lasts most of the night which is good because I've had many perfumes which need a quick refresh every hour or so. Price and availability 30ml Fragrance Direct £29.50 Cheap Smells £30.50 Boots £35 Debenhams £35 50ml Fragrance Direct £41.99 Cheap Smells £41.95 Boots £49.50 Debenhams £49.50 75ml Fragrance Direct £53.99 Cheap Smells £55.80 Boots £64 Debenhams £64 Online seems to be much cheaper than buying in the shops. Armani Code is an expensive perfume and I've not really found it much cheaper than any of these with the exception of Wilkinson who are currently selling the 30ml bottle for £24.95. This was a present last Christmas but I don't think I would spend this much on a perfume myself! The bottle I'm a big fan of the design of the bottle. It's very different to the usual Emporio Armani perfumes with their plain metal-look bottle with aerosol type spray. Armani Code for women comes in a slender glass bottle in a dark blue which becomes lighter toward the bottle, which I feel gives a lovely effect. It also has an oriental feel to it with a dark tree design. The outer packaging is a very similar design and all in all, it is a very attractive package. My thoughts Armani Code for Women is one of two perfumes I currently own. I use it mainly for evening-wear but it's a versatile perfume and one that I never get bored of. It's a very feminine fragrance but very sexy and elegant rather than sweet and demure. I get lots of compliments when I wear this. I got the fragrance last Christmas and I still have lots left. That is mainly because I forget to wear perfume a lot but I'm still impressed with how long the 50ml bottle lasts.
