I bought this Ghost Deep Night eau de toilette in a gift set, along with the matching body lotion, which was in the sale after Christmas. ~ Price ~ My Deep Night gift set cost just £12.50 from Boots, which was reduced twice. I believe their original price was £29.99. The 30ml bottle is available for £19.99 from allbeauty.com (RRP £25.00). The 50ml bottle is available for £26.95 from allbeauty.com (RRP £32.50). The 75ml bottle is available for £34.79 from allbeauty.com (RRP £44.50). The 30ml Deep Night gift set is also available from allbeauty.com for £22.95 (RRP £26.00). ~ Packaging ~ My bottle is 30ml. It is a crescent moon shape. The bottle is made from dark purple glass, which appears almost black when it is not held up to the light. The lid is almost the entire top half of the bottle and it is made from plastic in the same colour. It is easy to remove and feels quite heavy. The bottle sits on a flat base and the word, 'GHOST' appears in silver lettering very close to the bottom of the bottle. 'Deep Night', is not mentioned on the bottle. I do quite like the bottle design of this fragrance. ~ Scent ~ I have been seeing this fragrance in the perfume cabinets in Boots for years so it doesn't surprise me to find that it was first released in 2001. I think that is impressive that it has been successful for so long. The top notes are Indian rose and Belle de Nuit blossoms. The heart notes are orange, white tree and apricot. The base notes are vanilla, amber and musk. The fragrance opens with sparkling fruity notes. I can detect a hint of orange straight away, but it is a deep scent with a darkness to it rather than being a sweet fruity scent. The floral notes in this fragrance are very unique. They are quite dark and deep. I think this fragrance has a slightly masculine scent, but I don't mean that in a bad way. It reminds me of something my other half wears, possibly Cool Water. I can detect all of the base notes in this fragrance. The vanilla is creamy and the amber almost gives the fragrance a hint of spice. I have heard it described as an oriental scent, which I wouldn't disagree with. The fragrance doesn't have very good projection and it sits quite close to my skin so I don't think people would notice this fragrance on me. It lasts on my skin for around 5 hours before wearing away. It strikes me as a fragrance for night time wear, but I do think you could get away with it during the day as well. I think it is a warm, cosy, autumn/winter fragrance. I like this fragrance. It is quite different from the other scents in my perfume collection, but I don't think it would ever be my go to fragrance even just for night time wear or autumn/winter wear. I think this fragrance would suit women of all ages. It isn't particularly mature or particularly young.
I have worn this perfume for over ten years now. the quality has never wavered and I am glad that they have kept the packaging in the original design. The bottle itself is beautify purple glass, the lid comes off as the top third of the crescent moon shape you see in the photo. The scent itself is so warm and delicate but lasts the full course of the day. At around 7.30 am I spray it 4 times over my wrists and neck and it lasts right up until I get home at 6.30pm. The perfume is appropriate for day and night which can be unusual to find and for evening I mist it over my hair, neck and wrists to create a layered stronger scent. I am often complimented when wearing Ghost and always ask for it for my Birthday and Christmas. The bottle looks quite "grown up" so will suit all ages as I am 32 however i have been wearing this since I was in my 20s and also my Mum in her 50s loves it too so it crosses a wide range of ages. A great perfume if you like a light scent that lasts all day and can be layered up if you want it to small stronger. it doesn't have that alcohol smell that some scents have either which is another plus point.
My sister gave me this back in he summer as a birthday gift and I love it. I'd say it could be used everyday but is more suitable as an evening scent. The bottle looks quite nice on my dressing table. Its a dark purple bottle in the shape of a crescent moon It has quite a fruity, feminine smell to it. Its made from a blend of apricot, vanilla, indian rose, white woods, amber musks and peach. The price for this varies, you can pick a 50ml bottle up for roughly between £25-£35. If you want a deal you'd definitly have to shop around. Its currently in superdrug for £32.99. It may seem quite pricey to some (it depends how into perfume you are I find!) but I'd say is a good price for the beautiful scent and it does last pretty well. Its a great gift for perfume lovers or a nice treat for yourself. It has decent staying power and I've been complimented quite a few times on the scent. Id recomend for a meal out, a date or a evening party.
I just love the design of the bottle for this perfume and the contents are equally as good as well which makes it an excellent purchase especially as a 50ml bottle cost me £29.99 which is a great bargain in my opinion for what is a very good fragrance. The bottle itself is a deep purple colour in the shape of a moon crescent and the lettering of Ghost running across the bottom. It looks very stylish with clear design lines and a lovely curve to the bottle that just flows. It has a musky strong smell to it, ideal for evening wear in my opinion. The base notes are vanilla and amber with a strong hint of musk as well, it is also supposed to have the fruity notes of apricot, orange and indian rose however these are not very obvious in my opinion. It is very strong smelling right from the fist application however it does calm down a little bit however it certainly makes its prescence felt when you wear this and it is important not to apply too much and over do it. After a while the vanilla and musk smells come to the fore, it is an ultra feminine scent, heavy and a little intoxicating and one that really combines well on my skin. What I also like is the fact that it is very long lasting and can still be detected the morning after a good nights sleep. It has a very pleasant smell to it in the morning as if it manages to stay fresh all through the night. For me this is a fragrance that has it all, a really well designed stylish bottle, a strong feminine fragrance that is ideal for evening wear and a very affordable price that does not reflect the overall quality of the product, which is a good thing for those looking for a bargain. Being a bit of a price snob I did not expect this to be as good as it has proven to be.
Last Christmas I took my husband trailing round the shops in search of a new perfume. He's never been that good at picking out pressies for me, I have to give him his dues he does try, but often misses the mark. Last year I decided to take matters into my own hands and pick out my own gift which he would then wrap up for me. I wanted a new perfume, having found that post-baby my natural smell had changed and my old perfume (Moschino- cheap and chic) no longer suited me and now smelt 'tangy' when I used it. The first stop on my hunt for a new fragrance was the perfume counter at Boots. I didn't intend to buy the perfume from there unless it was on offer as there was a discount perfumery just round the corner, but unfortunately they didn't let you sample the scents before you purchased. I walked around spritzing different perfumes onto the little sampler cards, smelling each one in turn and offering them to my very uninterested husband for his verdict. The response was usually something allong the lines of "mhmm thats nice" or "that smells good is that the one you want". Not only was he bad at gift picking, turns out he was pretty useless at helping me pick out a perfume too! I was looking for something that was not overly floral, my mother wears Beautiful by Estée Lauder and on her it smells unbelievably feminine and very glamorous, on the odd occasion that I have stayed over and forgotten my own perfume and have pinched a bit it has not suited me at all. In fact I'd say Beautiful and almost all other very floral perfumes I have tried have smelt very cheap on me, my say-it-like-it-is sister even commented on one occasion that I smelt like a 'cheap hooker'. So with floral all but ruled out, I was looking for something with a deeper scent and knew from experience that something with a musky base note complimented my natural smell very well. I narrowed it down to two fragrances that I particularly liked the smell of, one was a perfume called Alien the other was Ghost deep night. My husband liked both and so was very little help making a decision (typical). Both fragrances were very nice and having sprayed one on one wrist and the other on the other I knew both suited me, they also both shared a common smell which I have now found out to be the amber base note. Despite the subtle similarities, the two had very distinctly different smells however. In the end it was the price that clinched the deal for Ghost deep night. At around 60 pounds for 60ml Alien was very pricey, while Ghost in comparison for 50ml was priced at a mere 25 pounds. Considering I liked them both equally it seemed silly to spend nearly twice as much on Alien. My husband decided to take charge at this point and sent me away with my son to go get a coffee while he purchased the perfume. When I unwrapped it at Christmas I discovered that he'd sent me away so it would be a surprise when I opened it and found not just the perfume but the Deep Night gift set containing the 30ml eau de Toilette and a 50ml Body Lotion. I have since purchased a gift set for a friend's birthday so know it retails for around 20 pounds which is excellent value for money. The bottle the perfume comes in is a wonderful shade of deep purple, and with it's crescent moon shape looks very nice sat on my dresser. The only gripe I have about the shape is that sometimes the tips can come a little sharp when I plunge my hand into my handbag forgetting that I have my perfume in there. The smell is in my opinion beautiful, it has top notes of indian rose although this does fade quite quickly, heart notes of orange, white tree and apricot and base notes of vanilla, amber and the scent that suits me so well- musk. When you initially spray the perfume it has quite a strong smell, and if applied a little over zealously can be overpowering. The initial strong smell fades quite quickly and leaves behind a very unique woody scent with a hint of the apricot and vanilla. It is a very feminine scent, and I have often been told I smell very nice whilst wearing it. I don't find it sickly unlike other vanilla based fragrances, but it does have a sweetness to it, whilst still being a very rich smell. I don't tend to need to re-apply it frequently and find that it lasts very well all day or all night. It suits being worn at both day and night time, although I tend to use less of it during the day. I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a musky perfume that's not too floral, and doesnt want to pay ridiculous prices. It is avaliable from all good perfumers and I have seen it as cheaply as 15 pounds for 30ml on some online perfume shops such as cheapsmells.com
I first bought this for myself when I went Xmas shopping 3 years ago. I haven't changed scent since! The bottle is made of glass and it is a gorgeous purple half moon shape. It feels very heavy and like it would be hard to break even though it is glass. When I use perfume I make the bottle last about a year on average as I don't smother myself in it like many people do. The scent lasts all day and I can even smell it on my clothes when they have been left a day or so in the laundry basket. The scent itself isn't sweet nor does it smell flowery, it is something quite hard to describe actually. Its more of an in between sweet and whatever the opposite of that would be in perfume! Oh I just love it! Friends always comment on it and say how nice it is and they usually have expensive Versace ones or something. This brings me on to price, it costs around £20 in shops, well it did just before Xmas at Superdrug. Anyway, I know that unless the product gets discontinued I will not be changing to another perfume anytime soon.
i buy this perfume for my sister every christmas she says its best one out of the ghost range.the scent lasts alday on her even though shes quite skingy when she spritzes it on on a morning. Also i tend to get her it in a gift set with body lotion in for exactly the same price as you would pay for the fragrance on its own.A real winner cant go wrong buying this fragrance weather it be for your sister, mum aunty.they will love it.
This was bought for me as a Christmas present from someone who knows that i always wear the original version, thinking that i might like it for an evening perfume. The bottle is really nice and it does evoke a kind of sultry, mysterious image. The actual perfume is way too strong. It has a kind of heavy, stick in your nose kind of smell that would catch in your throat when you caught a waft. A bit on the damp and musty side. It is really hard to review perfumes because they all smell different on different people due to our individual Ph levels but i would say that if you prefer something lighter and more floral in scent, then i'm not sure you would like this fragrence.
