This review is for the CK Shock Street Edition: As I always do pretty much every day, I check out hotukdeals and saw a post for a deal on CK Shock Street Edition. Boots were selling this for £11.50 for a 50ml bottle. I had been meaning to get this for nearly a year now but never got around to it. Always squirted myself at the airport as I enjoyed the smell and my wife liked it aswell. It was launched in 2012 after the original CK Shock. Bottle: Lets be honest, its bog standard isn't it? Nothing special at all. Infact, its almost like they get some kind of apprentice in. A bog standard looking bottle with CK on it and shock in some kind of graffiti looking word "shock". You need to unscrew the top and screw the pump onto the top. Yes, you need to do this yourself! Fragrance: Base notes of chocolate tonka, toffee, touch of vanilla Middle notes of aromatic spices, raspberry cocoa accord, geranium Top notes of fresh mojito accord, watery cucumber, sparking citrus So you can see from above there there are plenty of fruit and "food" related scents. Maybe that is why I like it so much? I do have abit of a sweet tooth. Toffee, chocolate and vanilla? Yes thank you. Durability: This is where it lets itself down. With all that fruit, it does not last that long. First hour is fine, but come the second and your starting to find it difficult to detect and by the third, well its nearly all gone. Overall: The smell is lovely, and when applying it, you can smell it and it stands out. Not to masculine but pleasant to smell. But its nothing like the original CK Shock. So why they named it "street edition", maybe they should have named it something totally different? But just remember that it does not last for that long, maximum of 4hours before its totally gone. The bottle is disappointing and maybe seems to be selling itself to the younger generation with its graffiti looking style bottle. However, at the price I paid for it, I do not have an issue with it, but would not be paying the full rrp of over £20 for it. I would stick to the Shock one.
I'm a huge fan of CK perfumes. In fact my all time favourite is the CK Be, maybe because it's unisex and I also love men's fragrance so it appeals to me a lot as it's not too girly and not too manly, just right! I also own some others of theirs and love them! So whenever there is a new fragrance coming out by CK I need to try it. And when CK One Shock came out it was love at first smell! The bottle is the standard CK One bottle but in white with bright pink SHOCK lettering, it looks very cool and funky and girly at the same time. It does certainly stand out on the shelf. More so than the men's version of this. It comes in 50ml, 100ml and 200ml bottles. Priced at around £23, £34 and £48 it is one of the cheaper fragrances on the market and you will always be able to find some kind of offer as it's very widely available. Whether Boots, Superdrug, Perfume Shop, Fragrance Store, Fragrance Direct if you shop around you are bound to get a good deal. I don't just have the standard bottle at home but have also bought the 20ml travel spray in a shock absorption bottle. It's great to keep in your handbag and costs around £10. As the standard bottles don't have a lid over the spray top they are tricky to take with you in your handbag. That I always find a negative about the CK bottles. The smell itself is very sweet and strong. It's fruity with flowery tones. It lasts fairly long when sprayed on your skin, when I use it in the morning I can still detect it on my clothes and skin in the evening, although of course it does fade throughout the day. And once you get used to a smell you may not detect it so much yourself any more but others can. I always try to rotate my perfumes so I don't get too used to one particular smell. I have had my bottle for over 18 months and it still smells lovely when sprayed. I have had other perfumes before that started smelling off after about a year. It's the trouble with large bottles I find but my 100ml bottle is still half full and smelling lovely! Overall I would recommend this for anyone who likes strong, girly, flowery perfumes. It's yet another quality fragrance from CK and efinitely worth its money!
I am a huge, huge fan of CK scents, I think they are absolutely gorgeous, and this is one of my absolute favourites from their range. It's became one of my all time favourite statement perfumes. I think this perfume has been around for a while now. I first found out about it last summer when I was going on holiday, and I bought it as my holiday perfume as it reminded me of the sun, the beach and partying. Now whenever I smell it, I'm thinking of my holiday! I loved this perfume so much that I bought it again at Christmas, and ended up buying the perfume and body lotion set. The set prices around £30, but it really depends on where you buy it from. The perfume can be bought itself from Boots - 100ml is £34.00, 50ml is £23.00. The first time I bought this perfume, I got the 50ml and it lasted me around 4 months with basically daily use, so it's really good value for money. The set comes in a quite a large cardboard box, with a plastic cover which slides on and off the box. The box is plain white with CK on the side. The plastic cover is multi-coloured and has "CK one shock" on the front. I like the box, I think it's quite a funky idea. The rest of the plastic cover is see through, and on the back there's some of the usual info on the perfume and lotion. I believe the set comes in a few different other styles. I wouldn't say that CK shock is the prettiest perfume bottle in the world. It's plain white, which isn't really that appealing and means you can't see how much perfume you've used and if it needs to be replaced or not. It has the same CK one shock label as the set on the front, and underneath it says for her Calvin Klein. I wouldn't sit this perfume out on my dressing table, as I don't really like the look of it. I don't think this is really an appealing looking perfume, however CK have recently brought out a street edition shock, where it has graffiti art on the bottle which I think has more of an appeal to it. When you first get the perfume, it has a metal screw on/off lid (similar to the ones you get on glass bottles) and another screw on lid with a spray mechanism at the top. I think this is uite a handy idea, so you can swap when your not using it, or you can put the lid on for travel, then swap back when you want to use the product. The 100ml is quite a decent size, if you're hoping to buy it for use when you are out and about, then definitely invest in the 50ml, it's much lighter and more travel sized. Shock incorporates the signature musky scent of CK with a new juicy and empowering scent. I wouldn't say this scent is overly floral or girly, although it does contain passion and poppy flower and pink peony as it's top notes. You can smell a hint of lingering blackberry, which is one of the heart notes along with liquid chocolate accord and narcisse. The base notes are patchouli, magnetic ambers and second skin musk. I think the scent is more juicy and fruity, rather than floral. And after use it lingers into a musky, blackberry scent which is absolutely gorgeous. It's quite a strong perfume, and lingers for a good few hours after application. I think this Is more of a statement scent and I use it for nights out and special events, although my friend uses it as her daily perfume as she loves it so much. Soi guess it's a versatile perfume that can be used really for any use. Although it's aimed at younger adults, I think this scent is so versatile that it can be used by most ranges. I would advise buying the set if buying this fragrance, because the body lotion is absolutely gorgeous and really compliments the scent. The lotion is more muted than the shock fragrance, and is a little more floral, but when applied, really compliments the perfume. When my bottle of shock runs out, I fully intend to purchase a new bottle. It's a fun and fruity statement fragrance, perfect for those nights out. It's a really good value for money perfume, and I would recommend this perfume again and again!
I was bought the CK One Shock for my Birthday in June this year off my boyfriend, I received the 100 ml EDT bottle and have been nicely surprised at my liking of the scent. I generally stick to the Hugo Boss range as I feel they just can't seem to go wrong with both the male and female fragrances but I had tried the CK Shock in the airport and thought it was a nice summer fragrance so was very pleased to receive it as a present The CK One Shock comes for both him and her. It was launched in 2011 and was promoted through a TV advert showing what I classed as a more 'punk' side to CK with it being aimed at a young generation with flasher colourful punk adverts to catch your eye. The EDT is supplies in a 50 ml, 100 ml and 150 ml. I have recently seem the 50ml on offer at the Perfume store for around £20, with the 100 ml priced at £33-35. The EDT comes in a white glass bottle with a spray nozzle applicator. The bottle has the CK logo and Shock emblazoned on the front in a pink colour for women (this is presented in a black bottle with the work shock in green for the men's fragrance). Although these bottles stand out i did not like the 80's feel to the bottle, the neon pink was not feminine enough for me to want to show off this bottle on my dressing table. CK market this as a "fierce bouquet" with intense notes of blackberry, jasmine and patchouli. When sprayed I can pick up on the flowery scent of jasmine and a hint of blackberry but cannot really distinguish between anymore scents that are combined to make the perfume. When applied (normally for me, first thing in the morning) the perfume is quite strong, but is a feminine oriental flowery and fruity fragrance so is not too overpowering. Although beginning quite strong I found it faded within a couple of hours to being barely detectable. Sometimes this can simply be that you get used to the perfume so don't smell it as much yourself but in the interests of doing this review I asked my other half and a friend at work and they also said they noticed it faded quite quickly. It is a lovely perfume with some lovely floral notes to it making it a very feminine delicate scent once the initial application has settled but it fades far too quickly for my liking and for the money you pay there are perfumes out there for the same money that last and last.
A perfume that I bought last year was this CK One Shock for her last year which is when it was launched. I have purchased quite a few nice Calvin Klein perfumes and this is another that I really do like. The perfume came in a for him and for her range and sometimes that puts me off as I don't want a manly smelling perfume but thankfully this is actually really girly and far from manly. I really like a Calvin Klein scent as I always find them really easy to wear and good for all occasions and not just one. PACKAGING This perfume is again another very simple designed bottle it comes in a white bottle which is shaped like an alcohol bottle or flask and it is all white which is very unusual for a perfume as they normally come in clear glass bottles. It has the CK logo on the front and in a graffiti style type it says Shock and then has under it 'for her'. This is quite vibrant and does stand out because it is white as most are really colourful and intricate whereas this just isn't and I think the fact it is quite plain does work to its advantage. CK ONE SHOCK This perfume has a lovely smell right away and as soon as I sprayed it, I knew it was the one for me. It has such a lovely sweet smell to it, almost like sweets and is quite light and slightly woody all at the same time. It is quite a casual scent but very addictive and versatile all in one which is what I like the most about it. It actually has a light vanilla like musky tone to the scent also. It is really hard to explain as I could even pick up notes of dessert and light citrus too but I think my nose may be running off in its scent. The notes that create this wonderful fragrance starting with base notes are magnetic ambers, second skin musk and patchouli so that is where that woody/musky hint is coming from. The heart notes are liquid chocolate accord, blackberry and narcisse which is quite amazing as liquid chocolate accord is a first for any perfume that I have tried and that is most likely the note that is adding the addictive dessert like sweetness. Lastly the top notes are passion flower, pink peony, jewelled poppy flower which all sound very fancy and floral. I think this scent is very easy to wear, I use it for work for going out, night you name it, it works. It doesn't require too many sprays either which is great but I do find it does need a top up if you are wearing this on a long day. When first spraying this, it seems really apparent but then it does actually tone itself down quite quickly and you want this smell to remain as it is that lovely. The smell changes from first spray as it seems like you are in a sweet shop at first and now that I have had it on longer the musky notes become stronger. It is a perfume that really is perfect for all ages as it works that well for anyone and is so simple but sweet. I do love this perfume and wear it a lot every day as I just know the smell is comforting and makes me a happy person. I would gladly recommend this to any woman who wants a nice, sweet day to day feminine scent as although not typically girly with not so many florals, the sweetness is ideal enough to have on. I will buy this again when mine runs out as I love it that much and it is a good value fragrance. COST To buy this you can get it from Theperfumeshop for 50ml which is £19.99 which is really cheap! Then the 100ml which is £33.50 again fantastic for the size. There is also 100ml gift set at £33.50 also which has the 100ml EDT and 100ml body lotion which is a bargain as they sell the body lotion alone for £17.50 but that is a 150ml bottle. The official fragrance website is http://shock.ckone.com/
This Christmas I received a bottle of CK One Shock For Her. I love perfumes, and have always dreamed of having a massive perfume collection, and so receiving a new perfume is always a nice treat. Looking up on the Boots website, this is what it says about the perfume, or should I say Eau de toilette! 'Ckone Shock for her opens with a fierce bouquet of passion flower, pink peony, and jewelled poppy flower. The intensity deepens with blackberry, jasmine and narcissi flower drizzles with a liquid chocolate accord. The addictive signature finishes with magnetic ambers enveloped in vanillin and patchouli, wrapped in second skin musk.' - I'm going to be honest and say that I hardly know anything about perfumes, and 'notes' in perfumes, all I know is whether I think it smells nice or if it doesn't. However I'm sure a lot of you will know what all that information means! The eau de toilette comes in quite an unusual packaging I think, and not the normal type of bottle you would expect one to come in. Ck one shock comes in a smooth white bottle with the words 'CK one SHOCK' on the front. The word 'SHOCK' is in pink writing and the style of the writing reminds me of graffiti. A bit lower down on the bottle are the words 'for her' and 'Calvin Klein'. Originally the bottle came with a little white lid to hide the spray top, however once I took it off I never managed to get it back on for some strange reason, so now I just leave it so that you can see the spray top. I find the bottle to be aimed at teens and young adults, rather than older women. But hey that's just my personal opinion; older women may still like it! The packaging overall is quite simple, and nothing special. I think I would prefer something a bit fancier. When I press down on the spray top, a fair amount sprays out. At first the smell of the perfume is quite strong; I would describe it as 'flowery'. After a while the smell calms down a lot and is not as strong, it then smells like flowers and I can definitly smell vanilla, and maybe a bit fruity. This is quite sweet, however thankfully it's not overly sweet. (I hate those scents that are just overly sweet and end up making you have a head ache!) - CK one shock to me, is not one of those scents. Overall I love the smell of this, it's quite a fun scent that you can wear everyday without being overpowering. I find it a perfect scent for teenagers and young adults; however older women might want something more mature! The only thing that disappoints me with this is that I find it doesn't last too long. Okay so I know that eau de toilettes don't last as long on the skin as perfumes, so I can't complain too much. I did in fact buy the body lotion that matches this scent as I heard that if you apply a same smelling body lotion under your perfume, it makes the smell last on your skin longer, however I haven't noticed a huge improvement. The body lotion costs something ridiculous like £18, however I managed to get it off eBay new for only £3! Anyway back to the point, yeah this doesn't last too long on the skin, and I hate re applying perfume throughout the day as I feel like I'm wasting it, however if you want to smell nice all day, you probably will have to reapply it. Price and Availability at Boots: 50ml - £23 100ml - £34 200ml - £48 However you may be able to find this cheaper from other places such as cheapsmells.co.uk I do love the smell of this, however I don't know if I would repurchase, as firstly I love to experiment with new perfumes, and secondly it doesn't last too long on the skin. However if it was ever on offer or anything, I would definitely consider buying it! Thanks for reading!:)
I received this perfume for Christmas, but I had smelt the fragrance from a sample that I had been given. CK one, Shock perfume is by Calvin Klein. There is also a version of this perfume for men and I have smelt this as well, and it is nice. The scent of this perfume is unlike many of the other perfumes that I have. It is on the opposite scale of the floral, girly perfumes. The smell of this fragrance is more of a heavy, strong scent. Once the perfume has just been sprayed, it can come across as being too strong and almost having a musky aroma. But I actually find that after a while, this perfume starts to smell very nice. What I really like about this perfume is that it does last for a good long while. This is most defiantly a positive as there is no need to keep respraying with this fragrance. I usually wear this fragrance on a night out and also because the bottle is quite thin, compared to many other perfume bottles, it is easy to fit in any handbag! The bottle as I say is quite thin and doesnt have that big of a neck. The bottle itself is completely white, with the word 'Shock' written in bright pink, so it stands out brilliantly. I would defiantly recommend this fragrance, and many people have commented on my perfume when I have been wearing Shock. I have to say that, although I would use this perfumes again, it wouldn't be one I would run out in a hurry to buy, when I run out of this bottle. But I would gladly receive it as a present again. From the perfume shop it is £19.99 for a 50ml bottle, which I do think is slightly expensive, but I do, when buying perfumes, usually wait and buy the sets of the perfumes.
I received ck one shock women 100 mil as a Christmas gift and was delighted. The adver really grabbedme and I just knew it would smell great as all other ck perfume does, and sure enough it does smell gorgeous. The design of the bottle is very trendy and eye catchIng giving a youthful vibe which fits with the actually fragrance. I would suggest the perfume is worn on a younger person as it is very fresh a bit fruity and quite casual smelling. This would be an ideal gift for a teenager or 20s/30s year old. Very good value for money as 100 mil only costs around £35 or you can get the gift set with a smaller bottles for about £26 which is a bargain. Overall perime is great as I have found with all other Calvin klein perfumes for men and women. Must buy fresh and trendy fragrance!!
I first caught a whiff of this perfume while in my local Superdrug store when they had it on a tester table and I instantly fell in love with the scent and subsequently it went to the top of my birthday wish list. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I was thrilled to unwrap a 50ml bottle of CK One shock on my birthday. CK One shock comes in a white bottle with the classic CK one name written in black and then the word shock written in bright pink in a style that makes it look like it has just been painted on the bottle. One thing I found odd about the bottle however, is that it doesn't come with a standard spray mechanism attached like most perfumes; instead it comes with a screw top lid and the spray mechanism separate within the box. It's nice that they give you the choice of whether or not to spray the perfume; however it also means that once you have screwed the spray mechanism in place, there is no lid to put on top of it. I opted to use the spray mechanism anyway but overall the bottle itself is nothing special. One push of the spray pump releases an adequate amount of the perfume that initially smells very strong and floral but once you let the fragrance settle it becomes soft and musky and reveals a hint of my favourite scent....vanilla. The fragrance that remains is a soft, sweet, cosy smell that is perfect for day time wear at any time of the year. Some slight research reveals that the CK One shock was created using Jasmine, dark cocoa, blackberry, narcissus, patchouli, amber, musk and vanilla. As I mentioned previously, I think this perfume is perfect to wear during the day and is suitable for any season of the year. The scent has amazing staying power and lasts for hours and hours which in my opinion makes it very reasonably priced at £21.99 from Superdrug for 50mls although it is even cheaper at www.fragrancedirect.co.uk at only £19.99. I really love this perfume and have used it every day since I got it. The soft, sweet, feminine fragrance makes it the perfect scent for any girlie girl and I cannot recommend it enough!
