Calvin Klein Forbidden Eurphoria EDP was bought for me one Christmas in a box set. The 30ml perfume also came with a moisturizing cream with the same fragrance. For the purposes of this review, I'm reviewing the 30ml perfume. **The Bottle** It's certainly a unique bottle, it's a long slim shape, a little like a child's rocker, it's a transparent dark pink/purple colour. The lid is silver on two sides, then transparent pink on the other two. The spray part is a metallic pink. It sits in the hand reasonably well to dispense the spray. I find the lid doesn't fit back on very tightly, it kind of just sits on top. If you were to put this in a bag, I've no doubt it would just fall off - which is a real shame. It seems a lot of thought went into the bottle design, this lets it down in my opinion. **The Perfume** It dispenses rather nicely from the sprayer, you get a fine mist that you can waft into or spray directly on the skin. It's quite a musky, heady perfume, one spray I find is enough. The smell isn't really a day to day perfume, probably better for nights out and special occasions. The musky tones are evident straight away, I can detect a little floral smell about it, but the musk dominants. Notes as from Amazon.co.uk: Top Notes: Mandarin, Passion Fruit, Iced Raspberry Heart Notes: Pink Peony, Tiger Orchid, Jasmine Base Notes: Cashmere Woods, Patchouli Absolute, Skin Musk There is a slight detection of these top notes when first used, but as stated previously, I did find the musky smells more dominant. It lasts really well, probably a good 6-7 hours for me before noticeably fading, so I feel the perfume represents excellent value. The perfume seems to be marketed towards younger women, although it seems a smell that any age could wear. **Recommended?** I would recommend as an evening or special use perfume, it's a shame the lid doesn't stay on better. For this reason I've dropped a Dooyoo star off. **Pricing and Availability** Widley available in Boots, Debenhams and on-line on Amazon. RRP 30ml £36.00, 50ml £45.00, 100ml £65.00 although there are some cheaper deals to be had.
If I were to ever choose only one specific brand for a perfume, without a doubt I would choose Calvin Klein. They have a range of beautiful fragrances, and If I could afford to, I would only choose to buy Calvin Klein's perfumes. It's a shame they are pretty expensive but to be honest, they are just that good and I do pay a lot of money because I think they are worth it. Forbidden Euphoria is one of my all time favorites. It is a fragrance that I truly treasure and only use on very special occasions. I think It is not an everyday scent particularly for shopping around as It is quite strong and distinct. I personally always want something softer and more natural for everyday. Forbidden Euphoria is meant to represent the younger and independent woman so it states, but to be honest, when my mum wears it, it smells fantastic and turns heads. It doesn't come across as too much or too strong unless you really generously spray it over yourself. The fragrance has very fruity top notes which you can hardly tell, rather, to me it smells like a strong mixture of musky and floral. It claims to have heart notes of pink Peony and jasmine flowers and it smells beautiful. There isn't any other fragrance I could compare it too. It is very unique and very strong therefore a little certainly goes a long way. Like all perfumes, Spraying too much creates a chemically scent which isn't very appealing. The first time I tried this perfume I got carried away and sprayed a little too much. It was simply off putting and gave me a severe headache. I just wonder what other people must have thought of me! Anyway, the perfume is available in different sizes, of course the bigger the dearer. I tend to stick to the 50 ml bottle, it costs between 40 to 50 pounds, depending where you purchase it from and it lasts me at least 6 months. Also I have noticed that the smell doesn't fade away if left out in the sun. Not that I would purposely put it in direct sunlight but I have accidently left it out on my window pane and it smelt warm but still amazing. I love it and I hope they don't discontinue this perfume. It is one of my favorites.
I do like Calvin Klein fragrances and with this one being launched only last year, I had to give it a try as the bottle is my favourite colour and it looked really modern. The Euphoria fragrance which was the original is one I liked but I wondered how different this one would be from it. Also with a name like Forbidden Euphoria, I was hoping for quite a daring deep scent and hopefully one that was also really feminine as this is the kind of image it portrays. PACKAGING Euphoria Forbidden comes in a similar bottle to Euphoria but with a pinkish purple hue to it to make it look a lot more girly. It is a flattened circle shape the bottle, with a tall rectangular lid and on the lid it says Calvin Klein. The box is a purple faded colour too and it all works well together but it isn't as bold and eye catching as a lot of other perfumes out there as it looks quite subtle. I think the name is what gets people looking but I like the bottle shape and image. FORBIDDEN EUPHORIA The Forbidden Euphoria scent is quite spicy and woody to me and it seems floral at the same time. I can pick up on a fruity tone to the perfume at the same time and it is very feminine and almost fresh at the same time, believe it or not. The fragrance doesn't seem completely original to me as it smells like something I've tried before but it is very nice. It is easy to wear which is quite nice and you don't need too much on or it would become quite overpowering. To look into further detail Forbidden Euphoria is created with base notes of cashmere woods, patchouli, absolute and skin musk which are all unique ingredients. The heart notes of this fragrance are created from pink peony, tiger orchid and jasmine making up the floral hints that I picked up on. Lastly, the top notes are mandarin, passion flower and iced raspberry which also adds to the fruity scents that I picked up on making for a sweet fragrance. Being a very girly scent this is really nice to wear day to day at work or on a date or a special occasion as it has a special scent to it and it is very pleasant. I find with this that it does mute down quite a lot in scent but I don't want this to be overpowering so when I spray a couple of sprays at the star of my wear, I am happy that it tones down as it still comes back to me every so often that I am wearing this and it is really nice and comforting. This is another of those kinds of perfumes that really is ideal for all age groups as it doesn't seem too heavy or too mature but could be worn on anyone and anywhere. It seems to be more musky with a fruity mix once it has absorbed into the skin but it still smells lovely and I like that you don't need to wear too much of this for staying power. It is an easy going fragrance and the bottle matches it very well to create a lovely perfume for any woman. COST This perfume is available in all department stores and theperfumeshop.com sell the 30ml EDP for £24.99 which is a sale price, the 50ml EDP is £44.50 and the 100ml is £64.50 which is still a good price. The official Calvin Klein website for this perfume is http://www.calvinkleininc.com which has perfumes listed on the website although not in too much detail.
I absolutely love the fragrance Calvin Klein Euphoria and for Christmas this year I received a bottle of Forbidden Euphoria. It was actually a bit of a mistake as I had asked my husband for a bottle of Euphoria and he duly got me some but the Forbidden variety not knowing there was a difference but anyway I'm glad he did. The bottle is just the same as the original version of Euphoria and in my opinion its really sleek and sexy looking. The cap is a long silver rectangle with some pink on it which sits on top of the spray function. Then the bottle itself is then in a sort of boat shape underneath this and when you rest it on a surface it will sort of rock back and forth. The bottle also has a really nice pink hue to it and I really like the look of it. Calvin Klein describe this fragrance as, "The younger interpretation of the iconic euphoria fragrance evokes a modern, fresh sexiness with a mysterious twist." I definitely find it a very fresh fragrance and quite uplifting and very fragrant. It is strong without being heavy and does last quite a long time. It's definitely a very fruity fragrance but not sweet and sickly like some cheaper perfumes on the market today. The fragrance is described as having top notes of forbidden fruit composed of mandarin, passion fruit and touches of iced raspberry, mid notes of pink peony, tiger orchid, jasmine and underneath its exotic floralcy lies a layer of addictive patchouli with a sophisticated blend of musks and cashmere woods for a lasting impression." I know I have only had it for a week or so now but I have been wearing this fragrance mostly during the day as I prefer a heavier fragrance at night. I have had a few compliments on the fragrance already which is nice. It's similar to the original but slightly fruiter and definitely a fragrance I would wear for quite a while to come. A 30ML bottle of the fragrance costs £33 which in my opinion is pretty much middle of the road, fragrance wise and is one I would recommend.
