Today, I am going to be reviewing one of Britney's perfumes, which is called 'In Control'. This perfume is taken from Britney's 'Curious' collection. This perfume was a limited edition and was released in 2006, however while it has been discontinued, it is still selling (new) on Amazon which I think is quite strange, especially as the perfume was only a limited edition and was released six years ago.
In Control is available in the following bottles:
50ml (£22.84, Amazon - not sure why this one is more expensive than the 100ml?)
100ml (£21.84, Amazon)
Whilst Britney's perfumes are quite famous for their nice looking bottles, I don't like this bottle. It's black with a 'pink' (I'm not sure how you would describe it....like a little rope maybe?) thing hanging off it. It looks very cheap and nasty looking. Not the best looking Britney perfume bottle.
Top Notes: Fruity Notes
Middle Notes: Tonka Bean, Vanille, Orchid and Sweet Notes
Base Notes: Musk and Sandalwood
I have to say, this perfume did take me some getting used to. I was bought it as a gift, and when I first tried it I thought 'eugh!!' (ungrateful I know!!!), although I kept it on my dressing table. I decided to give it a go one day, and over time I began to get used to it.
It smells like crème brulee which seems like quite a strange way to describe a perfume. It's very sweet. I can smell the vanilla, and then the muskyness comes through at the end. I also can identify a slight 'peppery' scent too. This perfume is quite strong and so I would recommend only a little.
The perfume has great staying power. I apply it first thing in the morning and I can still smell it when I come at night, which I think is good. The perfume is quite mature and so I would recommend it for women of all ages.
This perfume is quite 'dark' and so I would say that it is best suited to night time. It's quite 'warm' and 'comforting' and so I would say that it is a perfume suitable for winter as it is quite musky and isn't as 'light' as Britney's other scents, which I think are best kept for summer.
I would recommend this perfume, although it isn't my favourite Britney scent, and does take some getting used to.
Thanks for reading!

I own all of the Britney scents as I am a big fan of hers. This one I bought years ago from The Perfume Shop.
The bottle is the same shape and design as the original blue one. The only difference is that this bottle is black and you can't see through it. As you can't see through the bottle I have to shake the bottle to determine how much of it that I have left. This is a little annoying as I prefer scents that I can see through the bottle! The bottle above has a pump but my bottle is the 50ml size and it doesn't have a pump, it's just a normal spray dispenser with a pink lid.
The scent is VERY different to the original. It's more mature smelling with muskier notes. The original Curious was quite sweet and musky. This one is still sweet but the musk shows up a lot more. The perfume contains a variety of floral notes that give it an "evening feel", whereas the original scent was more of a daytime scent. The perfume is quite sweet and feminine. It sprays well and it leaves you smelling fresh all day long. The staying power is about average. I would say that it lasts for around four to five hours before fading and needing a top up. It doesn't fade completely but I like to top my scents up as the day goes on!
The perfume settles into a musky scent with a touch of spice. It's a nice scent but it's not one that I go mad over. I wear it now and again but I prefer the original Curious myself. This one is just a muskier copy.
Not bad but I doubt i'd buy another bottle.
I've always been a fan of Britney Spears - Fantasy perfume since smelling it on a friend years ago. My mum asked me what perfume I'd like for Christmas one year and I asked for more Fantasy so I would never run out. She was confused by all the different ones available to she chose the one with what she thought was the nicest box. She had discovered the amazing scent of Curious In Control.
I wore this perfume every day and it ran out pretty quickly... So I tried to buy myself more but my disappointment it was Limited Edition and I could no longer buy it in any of the shops in my local town. I tried my nearest city with no success. I couldn't forget the smell so I tried online as I had to have more.
I scoured every website possible with very little success. The only ones I could find that seemed like genuine sites with the perfume were American ones. My boyfriend ended up paying £60 to have a large bottle imported over and I making sure this one lasts. The scent is the longest-lasting perfume I have ever owned, one spray will last all day.
This scent is not over-whelming, gets me a lot of compliments, and has a stunning 'moreish' smell to it.
I dind't know about this Britney Spears Perfume until I had read it on Dooyoo. I like the original Curious Perfume, in fact it is probably one of my favourite ones, so I just had to try this one. Think the name of it is a bit odd, but I don't like every Perfume names that i've heard.
I got the 50ml bottle of this online for £16, which I thought was a good price. Not sure if it is available in other sizes or what the prices are like in the shops.
The box and bottle look like the Dooyoo picture. I'm not all that keen on the box for this. It is a square shaped box which the other Curious Perfumes come in. Inside there is a little plastic part that keeps the bottle propped at an angle. There is the pink part on the box which has red kisses on it, and the black section. It looks colourful enough, but there's just something I don't like about this. The bottle is the same shape as the other Curious Perfumes so a bit flatter and narrower on the bottom, it is quite wide in the middle and then gets a bit thin at the top again. This has the atomiser on it as well, so you pump the bit to squirt this out.
How does this smell? It is nice, but I still prefer the original one. The notes in here are Sugared Sandalwood, Tonka Crystals, Black Vanilla Bean Musk, Creme Brulee, Loquat Fruits and Orchid. All sounds a bit sweet and it is, but it's that bit different. This is quite Musky, and that bit heavier, but not too heavy, it's just a mixture of nice sweet scents. It reminds me of the Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Musk range in a way. There seems to be a sparkling scent mixed through here too.
This lasts a decent lenght of time. Around what I would have expected it to. I spray this in the morning and around 5 hours later I can smell just a little faint scent of this left.
This is nice if you want a Vanilla sweet scent and I happily used the bottle up, but I probably wouldn't use this again as there is just so many nicer scents out there for me.
As Ive been sorting out my make-up collection over the weekend Ive also been sorting out my extensive perfume collection and believe me it was no easy task. But while I was doing that I found about 20 that I havent reviewed yet and good or bad Im going to be doing them over the next few days so I can either throw them out, gove them away or display them properly and as Ive only been writing about scents I dont like lately I thought Id write about a perfume that falls into the last category "Britney Spears Curious In Control" which a friend bought for me last Christmas but Ive only just started using properly. Ive been using the original Britney scent (Curious) pretty much since it came out and Im never without a bottle of it so I hoped that this one would live up to her original effort and now I have to say I think it might be even nicer!
Ive just read that this has actually been discontinued but that confuses me slightly as I see it being sold in shops all the time. If you cant find it in shops however it is still very widely available online from places like amazon, ebay & fragrancenet so you can still buy this should you want to and its still easy as anything to get hold of. Prices of this do vary greatly as on Ebay a 100ml spary bottle will cost you just £20.99 yet on amazon a 50ml bottle will cost you £26 without P&P so keep your eyes peeled with this one or you could end up paying a lot more than you need to. I do recommend getting the larger bottle though as it comes with the atomizer which is super cute!
The shape of this people will recognise immediately whether you use/own any other Britney fragrances or not as this is the classic and original shape that is common in this range and I dont think any Britney perfume is in a different shaped bottle - although dont take my word for it. This design is miles apart from her others though as they are more girly and cute this has a sophisticated grown up edge to it as the colours are darker making it much more dramatic. I think the two colours of dark black and fuschia although they are very contrasting go really together and definately make for an interesting bottle. The shape is the usual shell design with a spary nozzle if you have a smaller bottle or if you own the 100ml bottle a really pretty, bright pink atomizer which just adds to the sophistcation of the bottle design. A bit more grown up that we are used to from Britney but still has a really girly, cute edge to it.
After a peek online I found that the ingredients in this perfume are as follows: Creme Brulee, Black Vanilla Bean, Musk, Sugared Sandlewood, Tonka Crystals, Orchid & Loquat Fruits and if your anything like me you wont know what half of those even are let alone what they smell like so Ill do my best to try and describe the scent overall. Well its definately a much heavier fragrance that the original and that is definately down to the musk, vanilla and creme brulee as while it is quite a heavy scent its also really creamy and proper sweet so it has a lot of different elements to it. Although it is a very sweet scent I wouldnt say it is overpowering at all and the sweetness even lasts when it has died right down and the smell kind of reminds me of burnt sugar it does smell lovely. The sandlewood does offer a slight masculine note to the perfume but it is only when everything else had died down to more or less nothing so either the main vanilla, musk and creme brulee notes are very strong or the others simply arent strong enough but either way its a pretty lovely scent exactly how it is. I think everyone would like this perfume as I cant think of anything someone wouldnt like about it it smells simply gorgeous. This lasts around 5-6 hours on your skin which isnt amazing but thats what I find to be pretty average so you wont need to keep reapplying all the time.
I think this is a scent for all ages as even though it is a bit more grown up than her previous offerings I still think young people will enjoy it as its not too old if that makes sense. I think everyone will really like this and it would make a great addition to any womans perfume collection - unless they dont want a creamy, musky, swete perfume if they do then this is the best one Ive found! Id recommend this as a night fragrance if anything because although the sweetness does run through the whole scent even when its faded the musk is slightly too heavy for daywear but brilliant for the nightime. If you can get hold of it I highly recommend it.

Curious In Control is a spin off from the original Britney Spears "Curious" perfume. It comes in the same type of bottle, except it is black, sexy and the colour choice of the bottle evokes a more sophisticated feel. The perfume is also a limited edition.
The notes in this perfume are sandalwood and musk, orchid flower, loquat fruit, vanilla beans and toka crystals. They blend very nicely together and create a nice subtle scent. It must be noted that this scent is nothing like the original Curious although it is still delicate and girly but a lot lighter. It is more of a winter scent than a summer scent.
The Curious In Control scent isn't very long lasting on me. I found I had to spray it at least 3 times in a day to have the scent stay. It is a nice every day scent. The sort of perfume you use each day so that you are not using your more expensive perfumes.
Again, this scent was a limited edition so I don't believe it is available in shops anymore but it can be picked up on some websites - I am pretty sure it will be on eBay and the like.
I really like the scent, I prefer it to the original Curious and would definately recommend it.

Haven't I seen this before?

It's a flanker to CURIOUS, but I can't pick up on any similarities between the two fragrances. It's limited edition which is a shame, as I much prefer this to the original. (It is still in a lot of stores though; have they made it permanent due to popularity?)

It's much lighter then CURIOUS, yet I can still pick up on the fragrance after a day at the office. As you can guess, it is a sweet fragrance, but it's not sickly. The soft floral notes seem creamer as they're enveloped in the crème brûlée & the vanilla & musk notes warm the fragrance up. IN CONTROL blurs the top, heart & base notes into one on me.

Loquat fruit, midnight orchid, crème brûlée, black vanilla bean, tonka crystals, sugared sandalwood and musk.

As it's a flanker, it keeps the same classic shape as the original Curious, only this time around they've chosen to colour it a dramatic and sexy black.
The 30 ml and 50ml bottles have traditional spray nozzles, while the 100ml bottle has an attractive atomizer.

If you like oriental/vanilla fragrances, you'll really enjoy IN CONTROL.
I'd recommend this for autumn/fall as it's so warming & comforting.
Next time I see this in any shops I'll be stocking up on it.
