I love perfume and one of my favourite perfume 'collections' is Britney Spears' one. I think that they really are genuinely nice perfumes (and I don't buy them just because I like Britney). As I liked a few of them, I made it my mission to collect every single one. Today I will be reviewing Britney's 'Circus' perfume which is taken from the 'Fantasy' range.
Circus is available in the following bottles:
30ml (£10.18, Amazon
50ml (£11.00, Amazon)
100ml (£15.59, Amazon)
I love the bottles - it's so pretty. It consists of a light-ish blue round bottle with red gems on it. It's very attractive and looks great on my dressing table.
Top notes: Raspberry, Apricot Blossom and Sugar.
Middle notes: Orchid, Peony and Water Lily.
Base notes: Vanilla, Sweet Notes, Musk, Woody Notes and Violet.
When I spray this perfume, I can smell raspberries and just a general 'fruity' smell. I can also smell 'lemons' although there are no lemons in it. I would describe the perfume as being 'clean, fresh, and light' and so I would say that it is definitely a more 'summery' perfume.
I can also smell vanilla and 'musk' at times. As strange as it sounds, there is something 'powdery' about this scent, which is something I'm not really a fan of.
I didn't get this perfume straight away when it came out, as I was a little put off by the name. I thought that with a name like 'Circus' it may be too sickly sweet - and in a way right I was. This perfume is very sweet - spray too much and it gets sickly sweet.
This perfume is very young. A lot of Britney's perfumes are quite 'young', however, I do think that this is the 'youngest' one, as there is something quite 'childlike' about it due to it's sweetness. So I would definitely say that this one is for teenagers.
One thing which has surprised me about this perfume is its staying power. All of Britney's other perfumes have great staying power, however this one's staying power is terrible; it wears off completely after a couple of hours, which is so disappointing as Britney's other ones last all day.
Whilst this perfume is ok, it's not my favourite Britney perfume. There isn't that much 'wow' about it. But if you like sweet perfumes, then you may like this.
Thanks for reading!

Do you have a circus fantasy? Fancy being a clown for the day?
Maybe not the most romantic image to be conjured up by the name of a perfume, but the cheap bottle doesn't invoke a graceful trapeze artist that might be hidden in me; however after a spritz of Britney Spears' Circus Fantasy Eau de Parfum I might be able to swing on a chandelier for a few seconds (if we had one).
Admittedly, I didn't buy this bottle though; I think the youngest in the house did. I always find it sitting in the kitchen, so sometimes I take a quick spray of it. Therefore, I'm afraid I can't give any first hand information regarding the price or the packaging apart from what I can find from the internet: The price I found from Superdrug online is £15.99 for the 30ml, and £8.65 from Amazon.co.uk with free delivery if you choose the Super Saver Delivery option - this is also for the 30ml bottle. You can also find it in 50ml and 100ml bottles for those who like this product a lot.
Due to its garish shimmery blue and red-diamante bottle, it is easy to be found in the kitchen. I think the bottle is made of plastic and a kind of seal is visible going down one side. The neck of the bottle is an extremely tacky plastic in the form of I-don't-know-what; but it is a metallic blue colour with bumps, and it really does not go with the rest of the bottle. The round lid is also plastic, and if you move the bottle back and forth, it distorts the spray top sitting inside; this can be hypnotising if you have nothing else to do, or you just want to go into a trance and procrastinate. Lastly, on the bottle there is a little round sticker with - I'm guessing - information about the manufacturers, but it's so tiny that all I can make out is Britney Spears, Circus Fantasy and 30ml.
The spray cap is smooth and not too hard to press down on. At first spray, the smell is strong and fruity and reminds me of peach - however after reading up about the notes, it's meant to be of raspberry and apricot. I'm pleased that the scent itself is not quite as chemical as I always expect it to be when I use it, but it does have a more chemical smell as it wears off. After a few minutes the scent fades very fast, and I would say it doesn't last (on my skin at least) for more than an hour, by which time you have to really put your nose up to the skin in order to get a whiff of it. It's quite a warm, sickly, sweet, smell that doesn't feel fresh. After a bit more time it becomes slightly florally and then finally, slightly musky.
Having an initially strong, sweet, sickly smell, I can see why my ickle sister chose it (she probably got it as a reduced tester bottle or something with her pocket money). When I try on a perfume, I have learnt to wait a while and purchase it much later or the next day in order to see how it fares out - and I don't think there are many children who would do this, and I've noticed my little sister puts on a lot of perfume so that it's very noticeable! This is quite good for children like her!
All in all, it's a tacky bottle with a scent that just wouldn't last you while you put on your clown's costume, and much less so whilst you gracefully fly from one trapeze to the next.
I purchased this scent as it was on offer in a popular high street store. I paid just £10 for the 30ml bottle and a small lip gloss. The scent comes in a similar bottle to "Fantasy". It is a light blue bottle encrusted with red stones and looks beautiful on my bedroom cabinet.
The perfume itself is a spicy scent with exotic notes. It is a very fresh and invigorating scent, very different to her previous scents. Upon first spraying this scent you notice how fresh and pure it smells. It reminds me of holidays and summer, which isn't a bad thing. The only criticism I can give this scent is that it isn't her best in terms of staying power. This perfume is lovely but it needs to be topped up regularly otherwise it dies off and is hard to be detected. It is quite weak. This is a shame as the perfume itself is great. It's very summery and feminine.
I think this scent would suit young girls and teens the most as it is quite light and fresh. I think older woman may feel slightly uncomfortable wearing this as it smells quite youthful!
Not a bad scent but what a shame it doesn't hang around for long.
After trying Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy and absolutely loving it, I decided to try Circus Fantasy.
Packaging and Apperance
Britney Spears Circus Fantasy comes in a spherical bottle like all the Fantasy scents, and this bottle is light blue in colour and is studded with red rhinestones, so this looks like the perfume is quite a young, fun scent and is aimed at teens and young women. The box is blue and red too, with the name of the perfume on the front of the box in circus-like font. On the base of the box is an ingrdients list.
The notes in this perfume are:
TOP NOTES - Raspberry, Apricot Blossom
HEART NOTES - Blue Peony, Waterlily, Red Sweetheart Orchid
BASE NOTES - Vanilla Wood, Creamy Musks, Violet Candy
Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy and Hidden Fantasy are all very sweet, so I was surprised that this fantasy scent wasn't so sweet - it was quite zingy, even though it has raspberry in it. The raspberry isn't sickly and doesn't smell artifical which is nice. As the day went on, the zinginess faded away and the scent became softer and sweeter. This perfume lasted nearly all day, only becoming very faint at the end of the day. This is a very light and fresh scent, so it is not suitable for night time use. I only needed one spray too, so that means my bottle will last for ages.
A 30ml bottle of this is thirteen pounds, a 50ml bottle of this is twenty seven pounds, and a 100ml bottle is about forty pounds from Boots and Superdrug. However you can get this perfume cheaper in other places, for example I got my 100ml bottle brand new from eBay for just sixteen pounds, and Semi Chem and cheapsmells.com will have brand new bottles discounted too.
Britney Spears' circus fantasy is one of the four perfumes that have been released under the Fantasy name along with: the original fantasy, midnight fantasy and hidden fantasy.
Having been a fan of the original fantasy scent that was released by Britney several years ago I was delighted to receive a bottle of circus fantasy for Christmas.
The box the perfume comes in looks quite fun and gives the sense that this is a young persons fragrance, it is not one I can imagine the older more sophisticated lady picking up for herself. When you open the box the inside of the lid has an image of Britney as though she is popping out of the box like a jack in the box, a bit unnecessary really but I suppose it is a nice touch.
The bottle itself uses the generic fantasy design with the rounded base and bubble top this one is blue in colour with red crystals. I think this keeps with the more fun element of this perfume as the other perfumes in this range use more sensual colours. What I love most about these bottles is that they look gorgeous sat on the dressing table as well as being handy in that the lid fits perfectly and the trigger lets just the right amount of perfume out.
Top Note: Raspberry, Apricot Blossom
Middle Note: , Water lily, Orchid
Base Note: Vanilla, Wood, Musks, Violet Candy
When you first spray the perfume the scent of the raspberry instantly hits you, I was actually quite surprised at how much you can smell it. It is quite sweet but not overpowering and does not smell like processed raspberries. Initially the smell reminds me of the kind of raspberry scents you get in the body shop. I apricot scent is very light and blends well with the raspberry and unless you were really trying the smell it I would say that the raspberry is definitely the over riding fragrance.
After a short period of time you begin to recognise the floral elements of the perfume. I am not the best person to describe how each of these elements are supposed to smell but I can give a brief over view. The particular floral elements used in this perfume are very subtle and light. Unlike many floral perfumes I have used in the past which tend to be quite heavy this is very light and airy. Due to this I would say that this is more of a day time fragrance as it is not as sensual as perhaps other perfumes that are available and definitely not as sensual as other perfumes in the Fantasy range.
After around an hour or so you can begin to detect the notes of vanilla and musk which blend together to give a lovely warm scent. I love the smell of vanilla the way that it is used in this fragrance works perfectly. The musk is very slight and is not as alluring as the original perfume that was released by Britney. I am not entirely sure what violet candy is supposed to smell of but there is a sweet scent wrapped around that of the vanilla which I'm guessing is that, it is very subtle but tops off the vanilla and musk nicely.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the longevity of this perfume considering that when I use the original fantasy perfume it seems to last on my skin for a very long time considering it is a celebrity perfume. The circus fantasy however does not last very long at all, I would estimate that after around 4 hours it is almost undetectable unless you really get up close a deliberately try to notice it. You can get body lotions for this perfume when you buy the fantasy giftset, perhaps if you layered up the fragrance the scent would last longer but by itself it is a disappointment.
Despite the longevity of the scent not being as long as I had expected the scent is very nice and so is the price. This perfume is very affordable with prices starting from around £10 for 30ml so it makes a perfect gift for a teenage girl or woman in her 20's or even as a cheeky present for yourself. Even if you don't like the fragrance for the sake of £10 I think it is worth taking the gamble but I do think this is a fragrance that will be liked by almost everyone once they have had a smell.
I am glad that I received this perfume as a gift but I do not like it as much as I like the original fantasy perfume. It is perfect for wearing during the day and would make a great gift for someone even if they are not a fan of Britney Spears. I do recommend it and think that it is hard to find a perfume with such a lovely scent and quality for this price on the high street so think it is worth giving it a go. I would rate this perfume 7 out of 10.
-also on ciao-
I have long been a fan of Britney Spears Fantasy and when this new edition was released a few years back I had to have it. Like the other perfumes in the Fantasy range it comes in a circular bottle, the colour of the Circus bottle is blue and it has red crystals. It comes in three sizes 30ml, 50ml amd 100ml. I always buy the 50ml as it is always the best value for money at £27 in Boots.
The perfume is inspired by the Britney Spears Circus tour, the box states that;
The spectacle opens with juicy accords of sugar-coated raspberry and apricot blossom, reminiscent of tempting candy.
The magic continues as blue peony, waterlily and addictive red sweetheart orchid take the limelight with delicious sensations and exhilarating temptations.
The grand finale is a captivating sense of seductive sensuality, blending sweet vanilla wood, creamy musks and violet candy.
This perfume isn't as sweet as the other Fantasy perfumes. It smells fruity and fresh. It also has spicy notes to it. It is a fragrance that would suit a younger lady or teenage girl best. The scent is longlasting and as the day goes on you still notice wafts of fragrance particularly as your body heats up. For me this is a daytime fragrance, I don't find it strong enough for the night I prefer Midnight Fantasy.
I would recommend this as a great present for the younger lady, it has a fab bottle and is reasonably priced.
I received this as a Christmas present so I've had quite a while to test this out properly!
It can be purchased in boots for £13 for a 30ml bottle with 52 points, or £25.53 for a 50ml and 100 points.
I think its a not bad price to be honest and it usually goes on sale around Christmas.
Britney Spears has quite a few perfumes out, the fantasy range has four in the range.
Circus Fantasy is inspired by her world tour Circus.
Bottle & packaging
It is a round blue bottle with red gems on it, there is a swirl blue around the neck and the clear blue round lid on top with a blue sprayer under it.
You can just see the perfume inside so you can see how much is left in the bottle.
The box is blue and red with the words Britney Spears Circus Fantasy on the front and a the sides yellow and red with a top hat.
The blends come in each layer you could call it, each layer occurs after the last one has faded.
First - Sugar coated raspberry, apricot blossom and smells like sweets!
Second - Blue peony, waterlily and red sweetheart orchid and smells flowery
Third - Blends of sweet vanilla wood, creamy musks and violet candy.
When I use it I use a fair amount but you should not apply it to your neck or chest due to the contents in perfume - this is with any, as the sun can have an effect that turns your skin yellow. This can happen after CONSTANTLY doing this with all your perfumes. Instead spray it onto clothes and even into the air and walk through, I learned this can happen at college by a lecturer.
It doesn't really stand out but when first applied you would get compliments of it and be asked what it is but after wearing for about an hour you can hardly smell it anymore yourself.
The blends of the fragrances on each stage work very well together to make this perfume.
The perfume lasts for a couple of hours so at college or work would need to be reapplied. Which of course is a downside because if your anything like me I hate taking my perfumes out and would rather they would last for hours.
You can instantly tell it smells sweet which I feel fits the Circus theme because when at the circus you would get candy floss!
I would recommend this for day wear for teens to mid twenties and for day wear due to the fact it wont last a night out and isn't very strong, I would still recommend it!
I have always saved my Boots advantage card points for those post Christmas sales in the hope that I can bag myself a half price bargain. This year was no different except I was disappointed by the fact that in my local stores there was no soap and glory to be seen....in fact there was very little of anything at all in all honesty and so I headed over to the perfume counter. There I saw a Britney Spears Circus Fantasy fragrance on sale for just £10.00 for a 30ml bottle of the eau de parfum. I had smelt this on my friend and knew it was quite a nice scent and so I purchased it.
The fragrance comes in a standard cube perfume box with the main focus point actually being the Britney Spears name and then the Circus name with fantasy in a kind of italic font.
When you open the box you can remove the bottle which is spherical for the main part but with a little flat part to stand on. The bottle is a kind of metallic turquoise blue in colour which you cannot see through. The lid however is see through and you can see the spray through there. The bottle has small pink circular gems scattered around it and in all honesty the bottle does look rather cheap but I am not overly concerned about this because I do like the fragrance inside the bottle.
The fantasy fragrance to me is very sweet and girly. I love girly fragrances and will often opt for these rather that something heavy and musty and fantasy fits right in to this category for me. The scent is fruity as well as being sweet and I can pick out a slight hint of raspberry as well as vanilla in there. I would imagine that this scent it suited to people going from their teens to around their early thirties but I would imagine people much older may find the scent a little too girly.
When you initially spray the fragrance the scent that hits is very strong indeed but this does settle down after around five minutes or so. I find that when the scent settles down it is even more pleasant. The fragrance tends to last on me a good few hours but if I was looking to wear this all day I would certainly have to reapply. I notice that this fragrance also seems to linger on clothes as I was wearing a scarf with an outfit the other day and I can still smell the scent on it quite strongly....always nice for when I wear the scarf again though!
I would certainly recommend this fragrance if you are looking for something fresh, fruity and girly and also not expensive for general use. I would say that for £10.00 I can certainly afford to wear this perfume daily if I so wish and I would definitely purchase it again when I run out.
Thank you for reading my review
I think this is the last of my Britney Spears perfume reviews and since Ive not long started using this particular one I thought Id write about it as soon as possible. I have to admit this was on of the few perfumes from the 'BS Fantasy' range that I had literally no interest in trying but my mom treated herself to a large bottle a few weeks back and she got a small tester bottle in the set so she gave it to me to try out. The main reason I didnt want to try this one is simply because out of all her scents I thought this one had only been released to cash in on her previous 'Circus' CD - if you were wondering about the ridiculous perfume name. Anyway now Ive finally tried all the Fantasy perfumes I have to say even though this one is an enjoyable scent to wear it is probably the worst one out of the bunch.
Price: £25.08 - 100ml bottle.
Stockists: Amazon & Boots
Other Info: Also available in 50ml & 30ml bottles + this scent is recommended for casual/daytime use.
As with all the Fantasy range this bottle is in the same shape and overall design as the others. The bottle is in circular shape and made from pretty sturday, light blue glass - the same colour scheme as the original Curious perfume but in the Fantasy design. There are little red/pink diamantes studded all over the bottle and a ring of blue diamantes encrusted around the neck of the bottle - its a very nice design and the colours do contrast each other really well but its not my favourite ever. The bottle is small enough yet sturdy enough to carry around in your bag without it breaking and it definitely looks cute on a dressing table but its nothing special.
Thanks to basenotes.net for providing me with the ingredients for this perfume - as Im bloody awful at describing scents. Anyway the main notes in this perfume are as follows: Raspberry, Apricot Blossom, Water Lily, Red Orchid, Blue Peony, Vanilla, Wood, Violet Candy & Creamy Musk. I was quite surprised by those notes because I dont recognise any of them from the other Fantasy scents so I should have known from that, that this perfume would smell totally different and it definitely does - this one didnt appeal to me as much as the others.
Personally I cant detect any of the floral notes in this perfume at all no matter how long its been on my skin because the top fruity notes of Raspberry & Apricot are VERY strong. Readers of my reviews will know that normally I am a fan of fruity perfumes but even I find this one a little bit too much even after it has started to die down because it is simply too sweet. The base notes do come through a little bit underneath the fruit as I can smell the Violet Candy & Vanilla slightly the more it dies down but that just adds to the sweetness - this perfume doesnt really offer anything other than sweetness and fruit, theres no musk or heavier tones to it at all which really disappointed me. Do try it before you buy as others may love this but it really wasnt for me at all. Its okay to wear if youve got nothing else but there are WAY better perfumes in this range.
Is actually pretty good. This tends to last for around 5 hours on my skin before I need to re-apply which I find to be able average - so if you do like this perfume a bottle will last you ages so the value for money is pretty good.
Definitely one for the teen market I think and young teens at that. I dont think this perfume is grown up enough for most people - it certainly isnt for me anyway - and it is only good for using in the day so I guess their recommendations are pretty spot on.
I dont recommend this to anyone really but try before you buy you might like it!
Thanks For Reading.

Britney Spears became famous at the end of the 90s. She shot into the limelight as a young singer and released various albums. She turned her hand to acting and also released a range of fragrances.
Beauty giant, Elizabeth Arden have released a range of fragrances endorsed by Britney. In 2004, her first release was named Curious and other followed including Fantasy and the most recent, Radiance.
The Fantasy range includes 4 different fragrances which blend together to create one sweet collection.
*Fantasy - the original with the cupcake aroma.
*Hidden Fantasy - a seductive and mysterious scent with dessert notes.
*Midnight Fantasy - a romantic sweet ensemble.
*Circus Fantasy - see my thoughts!
Circus Fantasy is the fourth and final fragrance release in the Fantasy range. It was released in 2009 to coincide with Britneys Circus album and tour. The fragrance is described as being a combination of "luscious fruits, tempting florals and creamy musks" which help capture the illusion of a circus show.
Circus Fantasy has been created with 3 sets of scent notes. Each set comes through in different stages to progress the fragrance until it disappears.
*Top notes give the initial impression and are shortlived. The show begins with an exciting concoction of sugar coated raspberry and apricot blossom for a candy illusion.
*Middle notes make up the heart of the fragrance and can last for a few hours. The show continues with blue peony, red sweetheart orchid and waterlily for the tempting florals.
*Base notes leave the final trace and the longest scent on the skin. The grande finale of Circus Fantasy includes a seductive and sweet combination of vanilla woods, creamy musks and violet candy.
The design of the bottle for Circus Fantasy keeps intone with the others in the range. The rounded, heavy glass offering is a transparent blue colour and is adorned with shiny, red gemstones. The clear, blue lid sits neatly on a swirly blue neck and covers a blue sprayer.
The box containing the bottle is a bright and noticeable affair. It keeps the blue and red theme and captures a playful design which is ideal for a Circus theme! On opening the box, we are greeted with a rather, ecstatic looking Britney ready to perform..ok then!
***Availability and Price***
Circus Fantasy is an Eau De Parfum and can be purchased online or on the high street. Boots are currently offering the 30ml at half price (£10.00) and the 50ml at £25.00.
Following on from my recent review of Midnight Fantasy, my sister decided to treat me to a bottle of the Circus Fantasy. I was drawn to it in Boots as it was bright and attractive in appearance and my sister picked up on this! I am a fan on many celebrity endorsed fragrances and moreso Britneys range as I trust Elizabeth Arden to bring me good quality products.
The bottle is beautiful and the blue and red blend together perfectly to create something sweet and fun in appearance. It looks pleasant sitting next to my other fragrances and stands out well. On spraying the fragrance out, I use one spray on each wrist and either side of my neck for optimum coverage. I occasionally spray a little around my jacket to emphasise the scent.
Normally I don't know which notes make up my chosen scent until I come to review it. With Circus Fantasy, I was aware of the combination used as I had spotted the list whilst researching Midnight Fantasy, I believe this is what initial encouraged me to be attracted to this fragrance. I expected and anticipated a fragrance that would be lively and playful.
The initial treat for my nose was undoubtedly sweet. It gives of the initial impression of Midnight Fantasy as both contain a form of raspberry in the top notes. The raspberry on this occasion was rather succulent and oozed a delightful sweetness. I find raspberry notes can be quite sour but in this fragrance, it was simple sweet and a desirable treat for my nose. There was a juicy undertone which freshened up the overall initial scent and allowed it to be gorgeously sweet but not overpowering that it was sickly. The opening was playful and fun. It didn't take itself too seriously.
The opening notes gradually gave way over the space of a couple of minutes and gently blended in to reveal the star of the show. Give it up for the florals! I am not a fan of overly floral fragrances and Circus Fantasy didn't go crazy with the middle notes. At first, the sweet notes from the opening, blended with the lightness of waterlily to give a refreshing and delicate aroma. The waterlily became more prominent soon after and the other floral notes didn't overtake and sat in the background barely detectable to the senses.
After around 90mins, the subtle florals make way for the finale and the warmth of the base notes comes through very quickly. Luckily I adore the notes used to finish Circus Fantasy and appreciated them greatly. The vanilla was most detectable in its sweet and warming state of existence. Whilst the vanilla came through first, the sweet edge was taking off slightly by the musky aroma which I have come to desire. Musks were never my thing but in the right blend, they work well. The overall base was tempting and perfectly sweet and simply perfect.
The overall fragrance of Circus Fantasy lasted on my skin for only a few short hours. Considering it is an EDP, I would have preferred it to last longer. Once the finale of the base notes takes hold, it is quite subtle and close to the skin. After around 3hours, the sweet trace is barely detectable and I need a top up. This means I need to carry the bottle around in my bag.
Circus Fantasy is a light scent and although opens with a mouth watering offering, everything else from thereon in is subtle and not visible to those around you unless very close by. With this being said, I can smell it and believe the combination works well and is a treat to sniff..just wished it lasted that little bit longer at a slightly higher concentration.
This playful fragrance would likely suit a young female, perhaps teens to mid twenties and more for day use as it is very light. It couldn't withstand evening use if looking to make a major impression and there are other Britney fragrances that could be applicable for this occasion. I have so far tried 3 out of 4 of the Fantasy range and this is probably the least favourite of mine but I would still recommend it.
Thanks for attending the show!
Britney Spears has been out for quite a while now, and although she is a singer, she does have a fair few Perfumes out. I think her Perfumes are more aimed at the teenage, perhaps early 20's, but I think they can be used by most age groups, and I like the light and nice fragrances from them.
This one hasn't been out too long, but I think it's been about a year and a half. I may be wrong. This came out after her album called Circus, which was out nearly 2 years ago.
This Perfume comes in 3 sizes, 30ml which you can get from £10 upwards, 50ml, which is £15 upwards and 100ml which i've found for £22 upwards.
The box and bottle look like the Dooyoo picture. It is nice enough. I do like most of the Britney Bottles as they look pretty. This bottle has little stones studded over it. Nice looking.
So how does this smell? It is fruity, fresh, light and a little bit sweet. I have read what notes are in here and this is made up of a mixture of Apricot Blossom, raspberry, Waterlily, Vanilla, Cream Musk, Peony and Violet Candy. I would say the 2 scents that I can smell the most in here is Waterlily and Raspberry.
This smells nice even when you have just sprayed it. Most Perfumes they are nicer when settled on your skin, but this is nice straight away. It is such a light scent, but after me spraying quite a few squirts of this then I could definitely smell this. I wouldn't say the scent lasted all that long through the day, and although I did reapply through the day which I tend to do regardless of how much I can smell of a Perfume, I could hardly smell this Perfume on me after a few hours.
This isn't the most expensive Perfume out there, but for the mid price range bracket I would have expected this to last that bit longer. That is the only fault I found with this.
This is such a nice smelling Perfume and would be ideal for those who like a lighter fruity, airy kind of Perfume. Nice smell and nice bottle.
Recommended a try by me.
Britney Spears was my absolute idol when I was in my teens. Sad but true. I was 14 years old when Hit Me Baby One More Time came out and I can't remember any of my friends not wanting to be like her! It comes as no surprise that now in my twenties that although she isn't my idol or style icon anymore, I do still like her and therefore have acquired each of her perfumes.
The lastest offering from Camp Britney is her Circus perfume named after her last album and her huge world tour from last year. I was given a bottle of it for my birthday this year and was more than pleased to have received it as I had wanted it for ages.
Circus is available in three different sizes - 30ml, 50ml and 100ml and all are affordably priced at £15, £20 and £25. Being Britney Spears these perfumes are aimed more at teenage girls rather than adult women but I do think they are appealing for anyone of any age.
The Circus perfume comes in a bright box which reminds me of a Jack In The Box type of box. It is bright blue with a red trim and the words "Britney Spears - Circus Fantasy" written in red and yellow with the same font as her Circus album. It is a really appealing box and it looks fun and happy as well as energetic which is the expectations I had for the perfume.
Inside the box is the bottle of perfume and the designs of the Britney Spears perfume bottles are one of my favourites. The bottle is baby blue and round in shape. Dotted all over the bottle are little red jewels which add a really pretty detail to the bottle. Around the neck of the bottle is a a circular piece which has pattern almost engraved into it and again dotted with the red jewels. At the top of the bottle is the lid which is see through blue and allows you to see the spray nozzle which is a metallic blue.
Seeing as I have loved all of Britney Spears' other fragrances especially Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy I was almost positive that I would love this one though I was actually met with disappointment when I actually tried it. The perfume uses notes of raspberry and apricot blossom, blue peony, waterlily, red sweetheart orchid, vanilla, creamy musk and violet candy. All these scents are used to generate that funfair and the circus sort of smell - like candy floss and chestnuts. All I can smell when I sniff this perfume on my skin is the raspberry and apricot blossom and a hint of vanilla.
It is a very weak perfume scent wise and it takes alot of spraying to actually generate a strong enough scent on your skin. The previous two fantasy perfumes have always been pretty strong but this one gives the impression that it is very watered down and the raspberry scent does smell very fake to me. It lasts about 2 hours when applied and then it just disappears without a trace.
It is a real shame as all Britney Spears' other perfumes have been great and the packaging and the bottle are lovely but the perfume which is Circus is a massive let down.

If you test CIRCUS FANTASY hoping for a variation on the original Fantasy you'll be disappointed; CIRCUS FANTASY is all about the natural sweetness found in the scent snotes, rather than cakey, syrupy notes.
- - - - - - - - - - -

CIRCUS FANTASY opens with a fresh, slightly tart burst of raspberry and apricot. Even though it applies with a sharper edge then any of her other perfumes, there is still a slight sweetness to it...
It's the middle notes of soft and subtle floral prevent CIRCUS FANTASY from becoming just another 'sweet shop' fragrance. The middle notes lend a more mature feel to the fragrance, that calms down the sweetness and prevents the fruity notes from completely taking over the fragrance.
The vanilla base gives comforting softness to CIRCUS FANTASY, providing a nice contrast to the freshness to the opening. I also love violet, and I've never tried a perfume that has it in the base; it seems to make it richer. The notes available on various sites say the violet is 'candied', but I never got the sugar rush I was expecting. Any additional candy notes are lost inside the vanilla and the creamy tone to the musk.

The now-famous crystal adorned Fantasy bottle returns. This time it's the same shade of blue as the Curious bottle and the crystals are pink.

The lasting power of CIRCUS FANTASY is quite poor and close to the skin. It does have the poorest staying power out of the Fantasy range. You'll need to refresh every 2 hours or so.
The fragrance has quite a heavy musk in the base, and it can be very cloying during hotter weather.
And - yes - the name is stupid. The juice doesn't remind me in any way of a circus. It's a shameless cash-in on Britney's 'Circus' CD album and tour.

While I love the sweet/sour contrast to Circus Fantasy and found the creamy tone to the base lovely, I didn't get along with the musk.
As mentioned above it is rather strong; It starts to develop during the heart on me. I just don't like musk, therefore I'll notice it right off the bat, so if you like musk you'll like this.
I also think putting the Fantasy label onto a fragrance that doesn't actually share any of the Fantasy elements is a dirty trick.
