)Image above is the wrong one) ===The Product=== Avon Secret Fantasy Star. 50 ml bottle and made in Poland. Contains 70% ethanol alcohol and is flammable. Eau de Toilette. Comes in black box with 'S' in pink and slightly embossed. Has dots on the box to represent stars. The box also has a white cared liner. The bottle is roundish, heavy and dumpy and made of pale pink milky glass with spray top. This bottle does not have any cap at all but has a metal ring which fits around the 'neck of the spray to stop it being depressed. On the end of the collar is a star charm attached by a short piece of chain. The star comes covered in a tiny plastic bag. The charm is detachable and made from cast iron, and is on a 2cm stainless steel chain. 'Stand out from the crowd Secret Fantasy Star. Reveal your inner diva.' ===Alternatives=== This range also has Secret Fantasy and Secret Fantasy Kiss. ===Cost=== Full price £11 but currently buy one and get one for half price. ===My Opinion=== Fragrantica state - 'Launched in 2011. Top notes are mandarin orange and plum; middle notes are jasmine and peony; the base note is sandalwood'. Sounds rather nice doesn't it? Shame it doesn't live up to the description. The bottle is quite an attractive pale pink colour but has the weird contraption to stop the spray being depressed - a little metal ring to fit around its neck - the same design as the other to Secret Fantasy series but this time with a different charm - a little star. This to me is a very one dimensional aroma. It smells reasonably strong and quite cheap is when first sprayed on - and when it tones down slightly I would say it tends towards the masculine side of things and smells vaguely reminiscent of certain aftershaves. It is quite fruity and acidic but you do not necessarily pick up the individual elements of the different ingredients. It sounds lovely but apart form not seeming to last as long as Secret Fantasy Kiss I am not really very keen on this one at all. Would be possibly ok for younger girls who may like the style of bottle and the novelty of the charms. For what it is the full price of £11 is too much in my view. Maybe better than having no perfume on at all but not one I would want to bother buying again - and this bottle will be returned for a refund. Its a shame as the description does sound quite nice and fruity. If you get the chance to but when on special offer it may be a reasonable purchase but Avon have much better fragrances than this one for the same price. ===Star Rating=== 3 stars. ===Would I Recommend?=== Not particularly. ===Website=== www.avonshop.co.uk
~*~*~ Avon Secret Fantasy Star ~*~*~ ~*~*~ What is it? ~*~*~ Secret Fantasy Star is a fairly new fragrance by Avon. I would say it is more aimed at teens maybe early 20's judging by the advertising in the Avon brouchures which usually include a young blonde girl. This is the second fragrance in the Secret Fantasy range. It was introduced in 2011. ~*~*~ The Bottle ~*~*~ The bottle for this particular fragrance is a rounded top heavy pale pink glass bottle, the name is printed on the front in an attractive black font. A small clip around the neck holds a detachable star shaped charm on a 20cm stainless steel chain. I quite like the simple attractiveness of this bottle and it matches the other fragrances available in the range. ~*~*~ The Price ~*~*~ As this is an Avon product you can expect to see it on offer now and again. It has a usual selling price of £11. I paid £6 for mine and it is currently on offer in brochure 17 for £6 again. I think £6 is a perfect price for this, however I do feel £11 is a bit on the expensive side for an Avon product. For £11 you can pick up some celeb indorsed scents which may suit some people better. But like I said £6 is great. For your money you are getting a 50ml bottle. ~*~*~ The Scent ~*~*~ Avon descibe this as Glitzy, Sexy and Glam. A sparkling cocktail of mandarin and plum with mysterious night blooming jasmine, scarlet peony, and intimate silky sandalwood This I do feel is an apt description. I own all three of the range, and I think this is my favourite of the three, I can definitely say that the latest one Secret Fantasy Kiss is my least favourite. The notes are ~ Top Notes - Mandarin Orange, Ploom. Middle Notes - Jasmine, Peony. Base Notes - Sandalwood. I find this a nice sweet scent, it reminds me of candy floss, it mellows into a powdery clean scent that I really like, it's lightly floral whist still being sweet. I do like it and it is a bargain price at £6. ~*~*~ Overall ~*~*~ I really like the whole range so far, my least favourite is the newest one, I feel that they have gone from the sweetness of the first two and tried to make it a more sophisticated scent. I prefer the sweetness, this one is very similar to the first yet it has a little added kick to make it a bit more exciting. I wear these in the day, I haven't wore them on a night out and I don't think I would but that is because I have my favourites for a night out already. These are brilliant scents for teens, the are light enough for them to wear without over doing it. It's not really age limited but I wouldn't buy them for my Nan who's favourite scent is Opium! For example. This is more a fragrance for the young at heart! I find the scent lingers around most of the day, I don't feel the need to top it up. I may apply it before going shopping etc. and then I won't feel the need to apply it again all day. I can't detect it in the evening but I don't feel like I need a re-spray then anyway. In all it's a good cheap scent. Thanks for reading :o) x
I have always been a big fan of the Avon products and have always found their perfumes to be of fantastic quality, although sometimes a little pricey. A colleague of mine recommended this fragrance to me and after browsing my brochure, i found the product was on special offer! (what a result.) So, I took the plunge and decided to try the perfume, with no scratch and sniff on the page I was a little skeptical. My order arrived and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bottle and the design. Its sweet looking and the little star charm around it is a nice extra touch. I found this fragrance to be very subtle but I felt refreshed wearing it and the scent seemed to last most of the day. I decided to wear the fragrance to work and recieved a few positive comments throughout the day. However, I do feel that to look at the product it would appear as something a younger lady might wear. The scent was fresh and fruity and after sampling the other 'Avon secret fantasy' scent, I much prefer this one. All in all, a bargain perfume to wear during the day, maybe a bit fruity to be an evening perfume though.
Avon is not normally somewhere I would look to buy perfume from, but Secret Fantasy Star was given to me as a present. I must say I was a little dubious when I saw the bottle, which I felt might be better suited to a young teenager. However, I got a very pleasant surprise when I sprayed it. The scent is in no way overpowering, it seems to linger very inconspiculously in the background. I do feel that the fragrance is more like something a younger girl might wear, but I have absolutely no objections to wearing it. Not being a great one for describing smells, all I will say is that is has a fruity quality to it, making it a lovely light and fresh perfume to wear. You will find the smell stays on you all day, I particularly noticed my hair seems to smell of it for the whole day. Also, the bottle is very cute with it's charm around the neck, which makes it a very pretty present to give. The price isn't bad either!
This is the 2nd Perfume out in the Secret Fantasy range in Avon. I have tried both of them and have actually just finished using this very Perfume this morning. I like to try new Perfumes and especially when they are on offer. I think this Perfume came out in the Avon books around October time last year - well aroundabout then anyway. This comes in a 50ml bottle but to be honest when I look at this bottle it doesn't look 50ml I would say it looks more like 30ml. The price of this in Avon is £12 but can be found on offer quite often as most Avon products are. I bought this when it was on offer for £6 and if you spent £12 on a large range of Make Up and/or Perfume from Avon you got a little gift bag free which had a 30ml of Eternal Magic Perfume, a Mascara and a Lip Gloss. So a good bargain then! The bottle looks like the picture on here. Quite a pretty little bottle. The bottle is shaped a bit but pretty circular and that stands flat on the flat base. The pink colour on the bottle is a light pink which I like the shade of and this has a little silver coloured charm hanging around the neck of the bottle, which you unclip to be able to spray this. The 1 thing I don't like is that this doesn't have a lid to it, and I ended up losing the clip part, so if I was to carry this around in my bag then it may end up spraying if it pressed against something. The scent from this is quite sweet but a little Fruity as well. This has Mandarin. Jasmine and Powdered Vanilla in it. This smells a bit Musky as well and there seems to be perhaps a sparkling Peach through this as well. It is quite nice and certainly Fruity smelling, but I would say it is more a teenage kind of scent. I don't think this scent lasts all that long though. After spraying this in the morning I can't smell it at all after a few hours even if I have my wrist right under my nose. This just doesn't have great lasting power and I know it isn't all that expensive for a Perfume, but I know other £12 Perfumes in Avon which last a bit longer than this scent. A nice light. sparkling Fruity scent but I won't use it again as i've tried it and yes it was nice but there is nicer ones that this one in Avon in my view.
Avon's SECRET FANTASY STAR is the 2011 follow-up to 2010's Secret Fantasy. It is sold exclusively through Avon's representatives and through the Avon site. - - - - - - - - - - - Smells like... - - - - - - - - - - - The first thing you should know about SECRET FANTASY STAR is that it has powdered vanilla notes from top notes to base, so if you don't like sweeter fragrances don't bother looking twice at this. The mandarin goes with the vanilla perfectly, but it does seem a tad watery on me. I can't detect any plum at all, but there is something else underneath the watery mandarin - peach perhaps? The peony note develops very quickly and lasts through the perfume's wear, I think that the already existing powdery notes help strengthen the note and carry it. The jasmine is milder, but is also easy to pick out and a bit of mandarin seems to be tangled up with it. Avon has only listed two floral notes because, apart from a soft hint of rose, that is all that really stands out. I could list what florals are used in the Victoria's Secret perfumes as I'm quite sure that they'll be more or less the same, but then I wouldn't be honest, as nothing else develops as much as the above mentioned notes. The base is a airy mix of powdered vanilla and sandalwood, with a touch of musk running through it. There is still a lingering bit of peony which carries down with the rest of the perfume as it's fairly strong, but I can't detect any remaining florals after a few hours. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It's in the details - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mandarin, plum, jasmine, peony, sandalwood. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Presentation counts - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Agent Provocateur inspired bottle is the same as the original Secret Fantasy, but it is coloured a lighter shade of pink. It has a silver-toned star shaped charm around the neck of the bottle, but it is thinner and more fragile then the originals key shaped charm. SECRET FANTASY STAR is only sold in a 50ml bottle. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When, where and for how long? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It's an Avon mass market release and is a EDT concentration, but the lasting power is actually pretty good for the price; it wears for four to five hours on average. It wears much better then the original Secret Fantasy on me. I think that this is suitable for wearing any time of day or night. Some people may think that it's too young and sweet for work, but I think the delicate florals break up the sweetness enough so that it doesn't seem too young, and none of my colleagues have complained about it, so I feel comfortable wearing it in the office. It's not too close to the skin, but is also not too loud, so I happily wear it for nights out too, as it is a noticeable fragrance, but isn't cloying or irritating. The woods and vanilla make a comforting and warming mix for autumn/winter. Plus, the fruits are nicely mingled with delicate florals, so it doesn't seem out of place in the coldest months of the year. Based on it's scent-a-likes, I think that SECRET FANTASY STAR will continue to be very wearable as it becomes warmer; this is when the perfume being close to the skin will come in handy as the sweetness should remain light and fruitier. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Worth a spritz? - - - - - - - - - - - - - As I've mentioned before, I've had things - including perfume - stolen from my suitcase on return from two different trips to America (no, I wasn't over the limit), so finding scent-a-likes for my beloved Victoria's Secret perfumes over here seems like the safer [and cheaper] option... This is the EXACT same fragrance as when I go though to the beauty department in Victoria's Secret; it's a blend of a few different perfumes, including the gentle floral notes of Ooh La La, the powdery vanilla overtones in Love Rocks and the soft fruits notes found in Victoria's Secret Angel. SECRET FANTASY STAR isn't a alternate version of any one perfume from Victoria's Secret; instead it is a recreation to the scent of an actual Victoria's Secret shop. So, needless to say, I love it - it takes me back to various trips away when I wear it. This is one of those perfumes where I'm pleased, not disappointed, that it reminds me strongly of something else, as that something else is not available to me. One thing that it doesn't remind me of is the original Secret Fantasy, as that focused on the fruit notes and they were so strong that they smothered all of the floral notes. The original also lacked the intensity to powdery tones of the vanilla that SECRET FANTASY STAR does very well. - - - - - - - - - - How much? - - - - - - - - - - 50ml: £11 I don't think that SECRET FANTASY STAR has been sold at full price yet, so it is a great bargain buy.
