A gorgeous fruity floral from Avon

I received a sample of this from my Avon Rep. I then bought the full sized bottle as I was so impressed by the scent. The bottle is gorgeous. It's like a real flower and the lid is stunning with a layered floral effect. The perfume is quite strong so you don't need a lot of it. I would suggest starting with just the one squirt and building up the scent as required. I usually get away with two to three squirts of this. Less is more with this scent as it does smell quite strong. The main note of the scent is Jasmine and it is quite a strong Jasmine scent. If you dislike strong floral scents I would suggest avoiding this at all costs. This perfume is a strong fruity floral scent but I actually like it as it smells a lot richer compared to the usual celebrity scents on the market. There are also hints of Orange Blossom in there somewhere. The staying power of the scent is impressive. It does hang around and it can take you from day to night. I would describe the scent as a casual scent. It's not too heavy but it's not too light either so it has the right balance. The scent would suit all women, even younger women. I'm 26 and I adore this scent. My mum is 62 and she also adores this scent. It's just really striking and feminine. I love it. Plus the bottle is gorgeous! Try it :)

      Disadvantages

A beautiful, delicate, yet noticeable fragrance, with floral notes and an oriental base.

Now I am no longer an Avon representative I do not use quite as many Avon products. I am very fortunate to have a huge array of fragrances from Marc Jacobs Lola to Clarins Eau De Jardins. Avon do a huge array of fragrances and most people have heard of one or two from their collection because of how many years they have been around. The Avon in Bloom fragrance is by Reese Witherspoon. Reese Witherspoon is a global ambassador to Avon and her face and name is linked to a range of products with Avon. Avon in Bloom is one of four fragrances by Reese Witherspoon, the other fragrances include Laugh Often, Live Without Regrets and Love to the Fullest. These fragrances I am always attracted to in the Avon brochure. I have never purchased the other fragrances but in a brochure before Christmas it featured Avon in Bloom with a caption next to it saying 'last chance to buy.' At that point I thought why not, the bottle looked lovely (from the picture) and I had mildly smelt it on the rub/scratch and smell panel on the page. When it arrived and I removed the 50ml bottle out of its cellophane lemon box I was really pleased with the bottle and I had a quick spray of it. Again I was not disappointed. The bottle sits on a rounded glass base which shows an orangey/yellow/gold shade to the fragrance itself. The plastic but robust lid which you just pull off is made to look like an intricately woven flower with its petals. I think this is one of Avon's nicest looking fragrance bottles, when looking through the Avon brochure other fragrance bottles look cheaper and less thought out when designed which is is a shame because they may smell beautiful like this one. This is an Eau de Parfum in strength. I paid £8.99 for the fragrance and it is shown as no longer available on the Avon website. However, it may show up in an Avon clearance brochure in the future and it is being sold on eBay new for £8.75 plus P&P. From what I have seen in the brochure and online it only comes in a 50ml bottle no other sizes. However, in the Avon in Bloom by Reese Witherspoon there is also a shower gel, bottle lotion and body mist. I ordered the body mist as well on my order which was out of stock and my Avon representative never got in stock again which was disappointing. So when I first spray it I instantly get hit by what seems like quite a strong fragrance packed full of fresh citrusy smells like mandarin. However, when reading the description by Avon I noticed that citrus fruits were not described so the citrus type smell must be from the magnolia and jasmine blossoms. Then as the fragrance reduces from its first waft (about 30 seconds later) it smells quite alcoholic because it has not settled or warmed properly. Then about 5 minutes later it is much more subtle and it changes into a floral and oriental fragrance, the floral ingredients are smelt first which seem to reduce to an oriental base. As time goes on the fragrance is still detectable and the ingredients just blend together so beautifully to make a really rich yet smooth fragrance with a lot of depth which I think is from the oriental base. I can still smell this on myself in the evening after spraying it first thing in the morning which is very unusual for me. Most fragrances seem to disappear after just a couple of hours on my skin. Additionally I only gave one spray for my wrists and one spray for my neck so I certainly do not plaster myself in my fragrance which to me shows it is a truly long lasting fragrance. It is such an unusual fragrance and I think that if its label was well known such as Marc Jacobs this would be an extremely popular fragrance and I think it could sell at a much higher price tag yet the bottle would probably have to be revamped for a higher designer label though. I would say that it is a day time or summery fragrance. The name Avon in Bloom tends to suggest this anyway I think as well as the bottle. I tend to like a slightly heavier /richer fragrance in the evening. But I am certainly tempted to try another Avon fragrance in the future as my evening fragrance! Definitely a gorgeous fragrance and worth purchasing especially if it turns up in an Avon Clearance brochure in the future (as most discontinued products do!).

A fresh, floral perfume which needs reapplying in order to last all day, but which I still recommend

As my friend is an Avon representatives, I often get given samples of her tester perfumes, one of which was the In Bloom perfume, endorsed/created by celebrity actress Reese Witherspoon. Each 50ml bottle of In Bloom usually costs £12 from Avon, and it's available from Avon reps and on the Avon website. For the amount you get, I consider this to be pretty good value, even though in my case getting a bottle for free was nicer! The perfume bottle itself is very pretty, with the main body of the bottle being a clear glass hemisphere, which looks golden because of the colour of the perfume inside. The main attraction of the bottle though, is the lid which is a crystalline looking carved rose, and which looks very elegant a classy. The unique bottle is really nice in my opinion - I think if the perfume had been a delicate pink colour to show through the clear glass that would have made it even better though! When I first sprayed this on the scent is very floral, but not overpowering, and though I can't pick out the individual notes of 'greenery', magnolia and gardenia, I could pick out a tiny bit of the jasmine note which was lovely. After a short while, once the perfume had settled, there was a slight aroma of peaches coming through, which added a slightly fruitier aspect to the fragrance. Towards the end of the perfume's lifespan, again the perfume made it difficult to pick out individual notes, although these are meant to be cashmere (how can a perfume smell of that?) and amber. Fresh and floral at first, the perfume becomes more sophisticated as it goes along, but I'd say it's still suited for day use rather than for evening wear. It's too light to stand up in an evening situation I think, and personally I just use this during the day. In terms of staying power, it's not bad at all, but I usually give myself a top up in the middle of the day in order for the scent to last til the end of work. If I don't do this, I can no longer smell the perfume by mid afternoon, even when having a good old sniff. Overall, a light, fresh floral perfume which lives up to it's name of 'In Bloom'.

        Disadvantages

A fantastic fusion of florals and fruit

Avon produces a wide range of perfumes, many becoming sought-after classics. There are some that fall short of the mark and just smell cheap and strongly chemical. It's hard to know what you will end up with when you are buying from Avon as you are relying on the book or website to give a good impression of the product. In Bloom EDP costs £16.00 for a 50ml bottle from the Avon catalogue or online at www.avonshop.co.uk. I found mine on eBay for a lower price and the perfume also came with a cute little In Bloom handbag. This is yet another celebrity fragrance, this time from actress Reese Witherspoon. The way the product has been packaged and marketing is quite subtle compared to other brash and bold campaigns for celebrity perfumes. The perfume comes in a sleek looking box with a classic vintage style. It is a pale peachy colour with very small and simple logos, and no tacky gimmicks have been used here. Reese Witherspoon is glamorous in an understated way and I think the way that she presents herself makes her likeable to other women. The look of the perfume reflects that image. The bottle has a gorgeous design that looks very classy. It is made of clear glass and has a dome shaped lower section. The lid of the bottle is also clear, and has been sculpted into the shape of a 3-dimensional rose. This is beautiful in its simplicity and would look wonderful on any dressing table. The perfume itself is an amber colour and it shows through the bottle clearly which is good for allowing you to see how much you have left. Before I purchased this perfume I had been expecting a traditional floral affair, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is actually quite modern and does not have the standard floral bouquet that is usually associated with "old lady" perfume (as my friends call it!). There are a lot of different scents blended together, with top notes of peach and tea, middle notes of gardenia, magnolia, and jasmine, and base notes of cashmere wood, floral, and amber. When first applying the perfume I think you get the perfect balance between fruit and floral. The floral tones are soft and feminine, and the fresh fruity element keeps it light. I usually spritz two sprays over my body, and then another spray over my wrists. For an Eau de Parfum I think this is actually quite weak, and it gently perfumes your skin rather than covering you in a cloud of fragrance. The fruity top notes last for a little while, and then the perfume fades down to a more generic floral level. There is a hint of the deeper almost musky undertones, but these do not come through very strongly at all. I apply my perfume first thing in the morning when I'm getting ready, and then by lunch time the scent has disappeared. The scent tends to last between 3-4 hours, and becomes slightly longer lasting if I re-apply and layer it up through the day. I don't usually top it up until I get home again, but if I wanted the fragrance to be noticeable all day I'd have to carry it around in my handbag and I'd rather bother with that as the bottle is quite a bulky shape. This is a fresh and interesting take on a basic floral perfume. I really like the fruity touch and think that this gives it a bit more of a unique style that helps it to stand out from other fragrances. It's easily wearable and is a lovely scent for everyday wear during the daytime. It's not strong enough to wear on an evening out or for a special occasion as it's a bit too much on the subtle side. I think this is a lovely elegant fragrance which would suit most women. I'd say it's probably a bit too grown up to appeal to younger girls, but it's certainly not crossing into the boundaries of being too old fashioned. With Christmas coming up this would make a lovely gift for any female relatives, and I'm sure most women would be happy to receive it. I bought this as a treat for myself and have been impressed that I have found a floral fragrance that I like enough to wear regularly. I normally prefer sweet or exotic perfumes, but this one has just the right balance between fruity and floral. The 50ml bottle lasts for ages, I've been using mine frequently for a couple of months now and there is still lots left. This is a nice perfume from Avon and it's good to see a celebrity perfume that's not over-styled or tacky!

          -

It is always a bit of a case of trial and error when you purchase a perfume from Avon as you cannot smell them before you buy them. When I saw this Reese Witherspoon perfume in the catalogue I really liked the look of it plus I have a penchant for celebrity perfumes (or just perfumes in general as you may have noticed) so I took the risk and purchased it. In Bloom is only available from Avon and as far as I am aware it is only available is 50ml. I paid £12.00 for it. It can also be picked up on eBay. The perfume comes in a very simple box. It is a creamy beige/yellow colour which gives it an antique looking feel. The box has a slight white edging around it. It has "RW" in swirly lettering in an oval shape and silver font which stands for Reese Witherspoon. Underneath in white it states that the perfume is called "In Bloom" and it is by Reese Witherspoon. This is printed in white block font. The perfume bottle is beautiful. I personally love it and it is one of the perfumes on my dressing table which always gets compliments from friends and family when they see it. The perfume bottle has a half circle shape and it goes completely flat with the neck coming of the bottle coming out of the flat surface of the bottle. The bottle is made of glass and is clear so that you can see the golden coloured liquid inside the bottle. The neck of the perfume bottle is silver in colour and then there is a beautifully crafted crystal rose for the lid. I absolutely love the lid of this perfume. The bottle is elegant and simple but manages to be beautiful. It is almost classic in design and I think it looks like something from Chanel or Dior rather than Avon. I was really impressed by this bottle and it is easily one of my favourites. The perfume is made up of the following scents: peach, tea leaves, greenery, magnolia, gardenia, jasmine, cashmere, flowers and amber. The scent is very fresh and reminds me of cut flowers when it is first applied on my skin. It is definately a floral scent but the florals in this perfume are hard to identify though I do know that the perfume was inspired by magnolia blossoms so I am assuming one of the florals in this perfume is this. The perfume takes a sweeter turn when it settles down and the peach and amber notes intwine with the fresh cut scent. It is very feminine and becomes quite sexy. I liked the way the perfume smelled on me - I was a little unsure of the green scents which were coming through at first as they seemed a little sharp but the sweeter scents change that. I would say that this is more of a day scent than a nighttime scent. It is a nice scent to wear to work or just for a day out shopping. It lasts a good while - around 4 hours which is great for an Avon perfume in my opinion as some perfumes I have had from Avon have disappeared minutes after applying them. I highly recommend this perfume - it is sexy, girly and playful all in one.

Fantastic scent for fans of floral fragrances

As I feel I have mentioned many times in previous reviews, my mother always buys me an Avon perfume for both my birthday and Christmas, and last Christmas I received Reese Witherspoon's In Bloom fragrance. As I own a lot of different perfumes it's quite rare that I actually finish one, but I have just got to the end of my bottle of this one, so the fact I've used it in 8 months, for me personally, shows how much I like it. I suppose the first thing I noticed when I received this was the box. It's a soft mustardy-yellow colour with white borders, and it looks incredibly sophisticated and glamorous. If you were giving this as a gift to someone who didn't know better, chances are they would assume this was much more expensive than it actually is. Also it doesn't scream celebrity perfume, as there is no celeb name or photo emblazoned on the box, simply a small 'RW' logo. The actual bottle of the perfume is stunning. Although technically the scent is the most important factor when choosing a fragrance, for me the bottle comes a close second. I tend to display my perfumes on my dressing table, and I like bottles that look glamorous, which this one certainly does. The actual bottle is quite plain, being a clear glass through which you can see the yellowy liquid, but the lid is amazing. Made of plastic (or possibly acrylic) rather than glass it is shaped like a 3D flower. I'm sure you can see the picture above, but really that does not do it full justice. It's such a beautiful, feminine bottle, and also quite unusual too. The scent of this perfume (and it is an eau de parfum rather than eau de toilette) is beautiful. Avon describe it as their 'most premium fragrance ever' and I would agree that it smells more expensive than any of the Avon fragrances I have tried previously. The name 'In Bloom' obviously indicates that this is a floral scent, but I don't find it to have a sickly or overpowering floralness to it. The Avon website says that this is a bouquet of gardenia, magnolia and jasmine blossoms - to me the only one I can identify in there is the jasmine which comes out as the main floral. There is a real depth and warmth to the fragrance, and although I can't claim to have any real knowledge of perfume notes, to me I would say it smells like amber. This slightly spicy, warming scent blended with the florals makes a very unusual fragrance, and one which I don't think compares to anything else out there. I can't actually find out what the notes are for this perfume as it doesn't say on the Avon site, but when I first spray this on, there is actually quite a fruity fragrance which smells a bit like peach to me. This settles down on the skin very quickly giving way to the heart notes, which I would say is when you start to smell the florals - again the only one I can really pick up on is Jasmine, although this is definitely blended in with something a little more fresh, perhaps the gardenia. I'd say the base notes are again the amber and jasmine, which make quite a heavy oriental scent which I find unusual and quite sensual. I find the fragrance to be quite strong without being overpowering. I'd say it was suitable for daytime or evening wear - I tend to wear it for work and I don't think it's too strong for that, but I'd be equally as happy to wear it on a night out, although I'd probably spray a bit extra on for the sake of longevity. On the subject of longevity, my main issue with this perfume is that unfortunately after around 2-3 hours it seems to disappear completely and I just can't smell it anymore. The bottle is fairly large and a bit clumsy to carry around with me too unfortunately. A 50ml bottle of this costs £16 from Avon. Although £16 is a bit higher than most Avon fragrances I still think it's a decent price and it's often on special offer. If you don't have a local Avon rep you can buy online at www.avonshop.co.uk Overall I really like this scent and it is definitely one of the best Avon fragrances I have tried. If you're looking for an unusual floral/oriental scent I'd certainly recommend this one.

            Girly girls flowery dream

My nan always sends me little gifts throughout the year, usually from charity shops or independent shops, and recently she sent me Reece Witherspoon's In Bloom perfume from Avon. I am a big perfume fan, so any perfume gifts are loved, and was interested as I've never tried any of Reece Witherspoon's or Avon's perfumes. I am a very girly girl and love any strong smelling perfumes, so I was hoping the perfume would be strong and a gorgeous girly smelling perfume. PACKAGING The box containing In Bloom was orange with a white boarder around the edges, which wasn't the best packaging I've ever seen, but the silver crest with RW in curly letters does make the box look much nicer and more expensive. The box does have white writing on the back of the box, but because the orange is so light, the white writing is really difficult to read. The In Bloom bottle was round, fairly wide and contains 50ml of the perfume. The main interest of the bottle is the beautiful flower top, which is made of glass and is cut to look like a flower that is blooming, which I personally think is really pretty, and once I've used the whole of the In Bloom, I'm going to keep the bottle, maybe even refill it. The actual perfume is a bright orange colour, which looks really summery and pretty. IN BLOOM The first thing I noticed about the perfume was the dominant flowery smell, which is quite strong and powerful , which some people may find to much, but personally I love. The flowery smell does decrease over time, so does become a more musky, thin flowery smell, which may become nicer for people who don't really like strong smells. The smell of Jasmine is the most obvious smell of the perfume, which is perfect, especially if you like Jasmine, which I personally, think is a beautiful smell. But if you don't like Jasmine, then this might not be the perfume for you. The perfume lasted a fairly long while, throughout my working day, which was around 8 hours, and a distent flowery smell lasted right up until I went to bed, which was perfect for nights out, as it wouldn't need a re spray. Personally, I think this perfume is perfect for very girly girls, as it is a really sweet smelling flowery perfume, which girly girls may love. Also for women to love strong smelling flowery perfume which is perfect for nights out, then In Bloom is for you! This perfume is great for any time of year, it works great in summer, with all those flowers, but in the winter it can add a little bit of summer into the colder days. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY Reece Witherspoon's In Bloom is available through your local Avon person or the Avon website, www,avonshop.co.uk and costs £16.00 for 50ml. - I've never written a perfume review before, so tips and help is welcomed (:

              Better Than Reece Witherspoon's Films!!!

My mate gave me this perfume ages ago, she brought it and wore it for a few days but it made her excema worse so she let me have it because she knows I love trying new perfume. This is one that Reece Witherspoon advertises for Avon, it's called In Bloom and comes in a proper nice feminine bottle...... just the sort of gooey flowery thing that Witherspoon would love! lol The 50ml bottle costs £16.00 but I don't think I'll replace this bottle once it's finished because I'm not all that mad keen on the smell and the perfume doesn't last long on my skin either. When you first spray it out of the bottle it's got quite a bitter flowery smell, it's a bit too tangy for me and I never quite like the smell until I've been wearing the perfume for at least half an hour. It settles down nice though and the smell gets sweeter after a bit, it never gets a candy sweetness or anything like that but the floral tones calm down a bit and get a lot softer. You can smell jasmine in the perfume and that's actually the smell that lasts for longest. It gives the perfume a lovely musky smell that lingers wicked for ages, this is one of them perfumes that you're not walking around in a cloud of it but people can still smell if they're standing close enough. That's good for during the day but at night I deffo want a stronger perfume that is more in your face than this one. This perfume is perfect for the sort of people like Reece Witherspoon, it's proper girly and the flowery smell means it's more girl next door than sexy. It's deffo not going to impress many people, even though it smells nice enough you can tell it's not a high quality perfume because of the flat flowery smell of it. If you look on the Avon website it says In Bloom has got an oriental smell and I suppose that's right in a way because of the bitterness that is underneath the floral smell. It's not a bad bitter smell but I think it deffo could have done with being a bit sweeter from the start and if they had sweetened it up it might have made the perfume last a bit longer on your skin. Actually the best thing about In Bloom I think is the bottle because that's gorgeous. You can see it in the photo Dooyoo have got up but in real like the flower shaped top is a lot more glossy, I like the heavy feel of the bottle because it feels nice and old fashioned and the feminine look of the flower will make the bottle look good on my shelf with the rest of the empties. Even though the flower is made of plastic it's like an acrylic so that from a distance it looks like frosty glass. Recommended..... kind of, it's nice for daytime but the floral smell gets a bit much sometimes.

a bargin compared to other celebrity fragrances on the market.

I swore that I would never buy another perfume from the avon catalogue as I have found that with many of them, they do not last very long and some of them smell quite cheap (Someone even asked me once what that awful smell was, and I realised it was the perfume I was wearing..embarassing), so ended up in the bin soon after. However, I recieved 'In Bloom' as a christmas present and I have bought it several more times because I am so impressed with it and love this scent to pieces! I never normally wore perume during the day as the previous ones did not really have a daytime scent, but this perfume has a scent which is not overpowering so can be worn during the day(and it lasts ALL day!. The price (£16 for 50ml and £10 for 10ml) is very reasonable, considering you do not have to use much of this perfume, even if it was sprayed rather liberally every day it would last about 3 or 4 months. It is also good considering it is a celebrity endorsed perfume, and as we all know, many celebrity perfumes are ridiculously expensive and many of them smell the same. This is a unique floral scented perfume and comes in gorgeous packaging so it is ideal for a gift for someone, or for your bathroom shelf or dressing room table! If you are concerned about parting ways with £16 before smelling the perfume itself, I belive that there are shower gels and body sprays with the 'In Bloom' scent sold in the avon catalgoue or online for about £4. This is a perfume that I would recommend (and have reccomended) to many as it can be worn by women of all ages(my mum seems to 'borrow' this alot) is a very fresh femmine scent, which lasts all day and is somewhat of a bargin compared to other celebrity fragrances on the market.

Must be my body chemistry; white florals always seem bitter on me. The floral heart notes mix with the amber base, preventing it from being sweet again. However, in my opinion, the bottle doesn't match the lovely fragrance at all; it's ugly and looks cheap and tacky. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other buying considerations - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The price is good for a fragrance in the first place, but is fantastic for such a well blended EDP. The lasting power is also pretty good - it outlasts any other Avon perfume I've tried. - - - - - - - - My opinion - - - - - - - - I enjoyed my bottle, but it's not something I'd rebuy for myself now it's gone. If the tea note was longer lasting and the peach note was more prominant I might to tempted: but as it there's nothing new or exciting about this to make it stand out from the many other floral perfumes available. I do think this would make a great gift choice; IN BLOOM by REESE WITHERSPOON is a classic floral that can be worn by a woman of any age, for most ocassions.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

                    Nice floral scent, worth it.

I got this as a gift from my mother after mentioning i liked the sample Avon had in their catalog. It cost £16 for a 50ml bottle on the Avon website and it comes in a pale yellow and white box. Personally even if i hated this perfume I'd still love the bottle and box, it's so nice. The bottle's made from glass and seems quite heavy and thick, though the bottle lid is shaped like a flower and made from plastic it doesn't look at all cheap. Top Notes: Peach, Tea. Middle: Gardenia, Magnolia, Jasmine Base: Cashmere wood, Floral, Amber Personally I'm no expert at picking out all of the different note scents but to begin with i find it's a very fruity smell. I couldn't quite place the fruit i was smelling but after reading the notes i can deffinately place the smell as peach and a slight hint of tea. It settles into a mix between fruity and floral but I'd say it sways more to the fruit side, though i can't really smell anything i could place as cashmere wood or amber. This one would be a good gift for young adults or a more mature woman, especially if they prefer a more fruity over floral scent. I think it's more of a sunny summer scent for during the day though. It lasts most of the day but i prefer to top up at some point since i like to smell my perfume. You really don't need a lot so the bottle does last quite a while. Avon perfumes seem to be a less as more brand and though a lot of people think they'll smell really cheap and tacky, they don't. This is my second perfume from Avon and I'm deffinately going to be buying more from them. Avon aren't so great at describing their perfumes online or in the catalog and I'm not a big fan of buying perfumes before smelling them on me first but the up side with Avon is you can often ask a rep to bring samples to your house before you buy, or you can purchase the little vials through a rep on ebay for really cheap. That way you can deffinately try before you buy since they don't have a store.

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

                      Surprisingly nice perfume from Avon

I would never normally pay attention the the perfumes than Avon bring out as i thought the would be just cheap rubbish, but i was very pleased with this and i would probably buy this again. My sister gave this to me as she had got it as a gift and didnt like it so i decided to use it for going to college, In the same way that i normally use the perfumes i dont really like that much for wearing to work and college and keep my nicer ones for going out. But i like this so much i wear it all the time. I have a 50ml bottle of it which sells for about £16 which i think is brilliant value for money. Its very floral smelling, which i normally dont like but it isnt too overpowering and is an ideal daytime fragrance. Its not musky but i do find i can smell a faint hint of jasmine from it but its very mild. I find that i can still smell it after about 3 hours after first spraying so you dont need to carry it around with you all day if you dont like too be overwhelmed by perfume. Also the bottle is very durable and i have dropped it a few times and it doesnt even have a chip on it. The bottle is glass but the lid is plastic which is a bit weird but i suppose its more important how good it smells. I know some people may find floral fragrances more suited to older women, but i think this could be worn by both young women and older women. The downside though is that i have only seen it being sold so far in te 50ml bottle and a small purse sized bottle of 10mlfor £10, but i suppose its good value for money and you are better buying the bigger bottle.
