I got this perfume as a gift, Its quite expensive so i dont know if i would have bough it otherwise.
Its not as strong as the original agent provocatuer (pink bottle) which personally i think makes this item more attractive as a perfume as the original could be very over powering for during the day wear (i.e work).
The price is worth it though as the smell was with me all day and I could even smell it later on at night ... its major pro... this is what makes this item of good value to me, much like the original, you get your moneys worth and it will not have faded after an hour!
'The diamond dust'.... AKA GLITTER ... great for a saturday night out and if I was 15 again but for a monday morning meeting? Well not so much! It was everywhere ALOT of 'DUST'... this is the only problem I can highlight about this product, the dust was also hard to remove and I still to this day have some remains in my carpet, which as its so fine makes hard to remove! Its not extremelly noticeable but make no mistake it is noticeable.
I had high hopes for argent provocateurs perfume, as the line is known for being raunchy, naughty, up to date, luxurious and sexy.
The perfume was the complete and total opposite though. I dont think they put much thought or money into this perfume. It's deffinatly not right for the sort of people who wear the underwear. It smells old, musty and like talcum powder. Ive never smelt anything like it! I walked past someone wearing it in a shop, and I actually had to stop and walk by again. It was the strongest smell of talcum powder mixed with perfume which is just awful. I would not recommend this unless you want to smell like your gran holding a newly talced baby. Not worth the money. I'd expect to buy this from a pound store. The packaging disguises a horrible musty outrage to perfume. Very nice packaging it is though!
This perfume was brought for me by an older relative for christmas which i was slightly worried about! LOL
However the smell is AMAZING.
Light, fresh and able to wear as an every day fragrance. The bottle is very pretty and sparkles on your bedside cabinet (well thats where my one is anyway!).
The smell lasts for quite a whikle, i coudltn always smell it on myself but other people were commenting and I asking what perfume i was wearing. I dont know how much this perfume was to buy but i think it might be pricey. Its something i wouldnt buy myself but its a lovely gift for a friend or relative.
The smell has a slight floral hint to it but it dosnt smell to flowery, quite clean and fresh, a bit like what a fabric softener smells like i suppose only MUCH MUCH nicer! If only it came in a softner sized bottle eh??
- Agent Provocateur -
Agent Provocateur is a famous lingerie brand based in London. The first Agent Provocateur was opened in 1994 in London, Broadwick Street. There are now several Agent Provocateur stores across the world including in, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Agent Provocateur is famous mostly for its' sexy lingerie though a few perfumes have been launched. Many celebrities such as Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss have appeared in Agent Provocateur's advertisements, and many celebrities have become fans of Agent Provocateur. Agent Provocateur's first perfume "Agent Provocateur" was launched in 2000. Since then a couple of other scents have been launched, Agent Provocateur: Emotionelle and Agent Provocateur: Maitresse, as well as limited edition fragrances such as Agent Provocateur: Strip and many more.
- Fragrance -
Agent Provocateur: Diamond Dust is a limited edition fragrance that was launched in September this year. Diamond Dust is the same fragrance as Agent Provocateur's signature scent, "Agent Provocateur", so Agent Provocateur fans who were hoping for something new may be a little disappointed. For anyone who doesn't know, "Agent Provocateur" isn't a girly, flowery smell, (although it does have a rose smell to it), it is a sexy, seductive, spicy sweet smell. Personally, the most obvious smell is the flowery notes, musky Rose and Jasmine. The saffron oil scent is also quite strong, that and the coriander is what gives the perfume its' spicy edge. I can just about make out some of Agent Provocateur's other flowery notes such as Magnolia. The last part of the fragrance I can make out is the Amber. All of the notes are very exotic. As I said, Agent Provocateur is a very sexy, seductive, spicy smell, and I don't think it's for faint-hearted; it is a very strong scent, although at the same time it has been balanced out a little so that it isn't too strong. For quite obvious reasons, I'd recommend using this perfume during the evening or night. It's hard to explain the fragrance, I'd recommend going to a local perfume store before you buy it and try the tester, you'll either love it or hate it.
- Diamond Dust -
So if Diamond Dust has the same scent as Agent Provocateur, then why bother buying it? Well the answer is actually the reason I purchased this perfume! Agent Provocateur: Diamond Dust has real Diamond Dust added to the scent, so after you apply it, your skin is left sparkling! It claims to have real Diamond dust in it but I wouldn't be able to tell. Before I purchased this, I was concerned that when I used this, I would just have tacky looking glitter stuck to my skin. However, nothing like that happened and I was quite impressed! The diamond dust was very fine so that you couldn't really see it; you could just see your skin left sparkling and shimmering. You don't have to apply a lot of perfume to see the diamond dust either, one or two sprays will be enough, and you will be sparkling all day and night long! This perfume would be great for Christmas, the season where everything is glittery, from card, to decoration to your skin!
- Packaging -
Personally, I think the packaging is gorgeous! It isn't like the previous Agent Provocateur bottles, though the bottle shape is the same. It is a transparent glass bottle which is very slightly tinted pink. The spraying cap is silver and just underneath it, there is a silver chain in the same place that there is a ribbon on "Agent Provocateur". On the bottle, in silver there is a large italic A printed on it in silver, as well as a P which is diagonal to the A. There is also a sort of silver border printed on the bottle, again in silver. The bottle is stored in a beautiful silk box that is baby pink, with a slightly darker cushioned section inside the bow for the perfume to sit in.
- Price and Availability -
I bought Agent Provocateur: Diamond Dust from the official website which is just www.agentprovocateur.com. Diamond Dust is RRP£52 for 50ml which is in my opinion, very expensive, and with the Credit Crunch I'm not sure it will do so great. But then again it's Christmas in almost a month! I'm not sure if you can buy Diamond Dust in a bigger bottle yet as it is only a few months old, but it would probably be quite pricey! Right now, Diamond Dust can't really be found for much cheaper than £52. It can be found at a few perfume shops, and I have spotted it at John Lewis. However, when Christmas shopping time comes nearer, I'm sure it will be much easier to find!
- Verdict -
So is Agent Provocateur: Diamond Dust worth it? Well if you don't have the original fragrance, Agent Provocateur, I would highly recommend this, it is a great scent, it has gorgeous packaging, and that Diamond Dust looks great! However if you already have Agent Provocateur and aren't bothered about the Diamond Dust, then I don't think there's much point of getting it, especially as it isn't very cheap. Still, I'm sure Diamond Dust will be a success and that it will be on many women's Christmas Lists!
