When I was browsing in New Look before my birthday, I saw these tights a decided they would look perfect with my 'birthday outfit'. They were priced at £5-6, which I think is quite steep for one pair of tights, but I decided to spoil myself and buy them. These tights look extremely cute as they are transparent black with black love hearts all over them; they look great with plain outfits and heels to add a little something. As I have quite chubby legs, I brought these in an extra large to make sure I could pull them up comfortable. However, when I put them on, I struggled to pull them right up and worried about ripping them whilst tugging on them. I did eventually get them up, and was comfortable enough for a night out, but after my first toilet break they ended up with a rip in them where I had struggled to pull them back up. As well as being too tight on my legs, I found that tight material to be quite 'scratchy' and the tights irritated my legs throughout the night. Maybe I had set my hopes too high, but I thought for £6 these tights would at least be soft enough for you to feel comfortable throughout the night. Safe to say, these tights came off after my second visit to the ladies room! I am a big fan of New Look and always find that their clothing and accessories are well worth the price. Sadly, these tights are the one exception that I have come across and I was extremely disappointed with them. Not only were they too small and uncomfortable, but they were expensive, by my standards, and definitely not worth the £5-6 that I paid just to wear them for a few hours! Not recommended by me I'm afraid!
Tights such as these have become popular due to the Henry Holland suspender tights, retailers such as New Look and Topshop have released their own designs which are cheaper and of different designs. I'm a big fan of tights in general for daywear, nightwear or workwear! I saw these tights in the sale at Newlook and couldn't resist picking them up. I got them for £2 in the sale but I don't think they are much more than that when retailing at the usual price. £2 for a pair of tights is great value especially when they are so fashionable and up to date. They are sheer denier meaning they are thin and see through but this adds to the overall look of the tights. The thinness does not affect the quality of the tights as I have worn these tights 3-4 times and they haven't laddered or got holes in them yet. They have a small dark love heart pattern all over them which look great under body con skirts or dresses. The pattern is really girly and can really transform a seemingly boring outfit. They have an elasticated waist and I'm a size 8 and bought these tights in small-medium size and I'm a size 6-8 and they fit perfectly. I'd say these tights would fit a size 8-12 dress size as they are stretchy. Overall, I think these tights are a cheap fashion staple and rival the expensive Henry Holland tights, they are a real bargain, highly fashionable and girly, what more can you ask for?
I wear tights alot matched with a simple tube skirt to Uni and usually stick with black or navy, but after seeing alot of my friends wearing heart tights, decided to have a look on the internet to see how much they were as i fancied a change. I was pretty shocked at the price as on some websites, such as topshop they had sold out and were selling for upto £20 on eBay. Madness! I paid £4.99 for mine, with £3.99 delivery. The tights are simple enough, they're sheer denier and merge in with the flesh. The hearts are a dark grey colour and are dotted all over the tights. They're full length and i found that they fitted very well and were nice and comfy. Material wise they're 95% Nylon and 5% Elastane and are hand wash only. I wore mine to death for a week or so, matching them with denim shorts or a simple skirt, they looked really indie/unusual and i often found people glancing at them. After the first week though, i found they'd slightly stretched and bobbled which was a real let down, but decided to carry on wearing them as they still looked nice on, with the bobbling not noticeable when worn under shorts. Unfortunetly they laddered one day while walking home for no apparent reason and in the process of taking them off they ripped. Big dissapointment seeing as i forked out almost £10 for them including super saver delivery! Similar items are available in many high street stores so i'd suggest looking around. Although they seemed high quality at first, it went downhill and within a week or so of careful use, were ruined.
i brought there tights for £3.99 last month from new look. Ive had many many many pairs of patterned tights from places such as ASOS, TOPSHOP, NEWLOOK, PRIMARK even TKMAX! i find that they sometimes rip quite easily so i do budget myself on the amount of money that i spend on each one. i wore these tights with a pair of wolly socks and my boots. i thought that by wearing socks i wouldn't rip them on the heel, but they ripped straight away, and when i tryed to pull them up i felt them snag, like they wouldn't stretch to my height (5ft 7/8) which i do find ridiculous when i got med/large. i found that the material was far too thin, and they had a rough texture to them. i wouldnt purchase them again, as i have found a very similar pair for half the price which have yet to rip! (primark!!)
I recently brought these tights for £3.99 as I thought they were super cute and patterned tights are very "in" at the moment". I wore them with a plain black shift dress and some heels on a night out. I brought them in a medium/large as I'm quite tall but slim and I always find the small sizes are never quite long enough for me! (I'm about 5ft 8) Like another reviewer I put mine on really carefully as I didn't want to ladder them but towards the end of the night I had quite a few ladders and holes in them, was really disappointed but wasn't sure if it was me or the tights. They are a very very sheer material so I guess they are quite easy to pull! I'd probably next time spend a little bit more money and get something that's equally as nice but lasts more than one wear as cost per wear it isn't great! I have had pairs from places like Pretty Polly etc that have been just as sheer before and I have got plenty of wears out of these so maybe it is the cheap fabric! All in all very cute but for one wear only unfortunately :(
Right now I love patterned tights, or any tights that are just a bit different so I bought these heart print tights from New Look last week. The tights cost £3.99 but with student discount of 10% that's £3.59, and i've found that patterned tights can cost a lot more than this elsewhere. They can also be bought online at www.newlook.com. They are available in two sizes: small/medium or medium/large. I'm quite tall but quite slim so i bought small to medium and found that they were long enough and the right size, whereas i've had other tights which are too short when i bought small-medium from other places. I first wore these tights last week. I wore them with a baby pink coat and dolly shoes and they looked adorable, I really fell in love with them when i put them on. I think they are for teenagers really as they give a playful look. I got a few compliments on the tights, even though i was only wearing them for one day, and a couple of girls asked me where they were from and how much they were. I absolutely love these tights, so you can imagine my disappointment when I got home at the end of the day and realised they had three holes in them. I'll admit, I do often ladder or rip tights, but i'd been extra careful with these putting them on and everything. Therefore, I am assuming that they ripped because of the incredibly thin material of them. I mean three holes from a few hours wear can't be just a coincidence. I am undecided about whether I will replace these tights because on the one hand I absolutely adore them, but on the other hand they may just rip again. Similarly, it is difficult to decide what rating to give these tights. Part of me wants to give them five out of five because they're just so pretty, but part of me wants to give them one out of five because I only got one day of wear out of them. But could that have been me being careless? Could they last for months if worn by a more careful person? So I am going to compromise and give these tights 3 stars.
