I am a loyal New Look customer, it's hard to argue with great quality at a cost effective price! Their range is so varied, they often have great deals on and as a larger sized gal (Size 16/18), High Street clothes are not often my friend. Often high street retailers don't stock above an 18 and their 16/18's are often 'under cut' and would actually fit more of a 14. I'm often left feeling dismayed and a bit rejected from the High Street.
Jeans are not the friend of a larger sized Apple shaped lady because they can be quite tight fitting and uncomfortable. No such problem at New Look!! Their jeans are flattering, in all different cuts (although Boot Cut is me favourite) and really comfortable. They are a wonderbra for ya bum! New Look are on a massive Jeans launch at the moment and are touring the country to help find people's most flattering jeans. Unlike some other retailers, they are friendly and welcoming to people of all shapes & sizes!
However, I'm not quite 'petite' nor 'normal' for New Look at 5'5", and their jeans can be cut on the long side, which personally I prefer (no one likes ankle swingers!). So if it's raining, jeans are notorious for acting like sponges ! So beware short gals!
New Look is one of my favourite shops when it comes to buying cheap basics. Things like their vests, t-shirts and pyjamas are just as good as anywhere else in my experience. I do think some clothes there can be a bit hit and miss though when it comes to quality. I have bought skinny jeans from them before and found that they didn't fit properly and they washed really terribly.
I do have a pair of bootcut jeans which I bought there though and they are really good and still look nice even after months of wear.
They are a really dark denim and I think they look really smart and are suitable for work and other situations where a smart casual look is required.
Personally when it comes to wearing jeans as a fashion statement I prefer skinny jeans and things like leggings but I do like the boot cut jeans for the more formal occasion when I can get away with jeans and not black trousers or skirts. The jeans from New Look are a regular length leg and they fit really well and hang at a good length so that when I am wearing high heels or boots they cover it and don't look too long or too short.
I did find the waist was a little bit loose even though the jeans fit fine on the legs and I don't have this problem with my other jeans so I think it is more to do with the jeans rather than with me. They aren't falling off or anything but the waist does feel a little bit looser than with my other jeans which are the same size.
When I first bought the jeans I needed to wash them separately from everything else for the first few washes as the dye did run but this only lasted 2 or 3 washes and now they are fine to be washed with other dark clothing. They wash well and don't suffer from shrinkage other than the slight tightening that all jeans get when they are first put on after being washed and dried. The colour hasn't faded much at all and even after a few months of wear they still look really dark and smart looking.
One thing I did find with these jeans is that they really are only for wearing with boots and high heels as I tried wearing them with some flat plimsolls and they were too long for this and they did fray a little bit on the hem until I noticed and turned them up a little.
Boot cut jeans will never be my favourite type of jeans but these are a good buy and I do wear them when I need to look a little bit 'smarter' than I do in skinny jeans. I really like the colour of them and I think they are really good value for money as they only cost me £9.99 which I think is a great price for a decent pair of jeans.
Jeans are something that I absolutely love to wear. When I am relaxing at home I usually wear jeans or trousers for lounging around my home. I wear gym wear for working out at home and in the evenings during this warmer weather we've been having I have been wearing shorts and a vest top. Even during Summer I love wearing jeans, despite being roasting hot in them sometimes, and I own a vast array of jeans, far too many.
Recently I was sorting out my whole home and life ready for moving and decided to have a cull of some clothing. I had lots of items that were too big, a few that were not styles for me and even a couple of items that were too small for me and I most likely will never fit in them, well, not any time soon. I gathered up any items that were new, for selling on eBay, and I gathered up any items that had plenty of life in them and took them off to my local Action for Children charity store. While I was organising my wardrobe I went through all of my pairs of jeans and sorted those. Some jeans I have are more suitable for going out with friends when I want to look smart but not wear suit trousers or a dress and some jeans are better for relaxing in my home, enjoying days out with my nieces and nephews and having fun days with my husband. I like to buy these bootcut jeans from New Look, usually a couple of pairs at a time, because they are ideal for the more active days that I have where I want to wear jeans and not be restricted to what I can do. I am able to sit on the floor in these jeans and generally I am able to be comfortable at home also in these jeans.
I absolutely love these bootcut jeans. They are perfect for my waist, as I am a pear shape, and they have a standard waistband which is very useful for me. I do not like high rise or very low slung jeans as I find them to be uncomfortable for my body shape and generally they just don't do anything for my figure. These bootcut jeans are smooth over my thighs, without being too tight although they are tighter in the thigh than anywhere else and they are comfortable on my calves and knee area without being too loose, baggy or just looking nasty. They are not too tight, like skinny jeans can be, and if I am having a 'fat' day (or 'fatter' day!) they are still comfortable for me. There is a clean cut to the bottom of these jeans and regardless of what shoe I am wearing the jeans sit comfortably. I can wear these jeans, in the two different leg lengths I own them, with smart trainers, boots or with heels and the jeans and shoes look good together. The jeans are simple to pot on, with a button and a zip, and even if I am a little more snug in my jeans than normal, say after a large meal, I don't have any trouble opening or closing these jeans. There are two smallish pockets at the front, which can hold my Nokia Lumia 800, or my door keys, and there are two more generous sized pockets at the back which can hold my purse or my husband's wallet.
These jeans are made from 80% cotton, 18% polyester and 2% elastane. They have a small amount of 'give' in them and the size does change just marginally after they are washed for the first time. The difference between trying the jeans on in store, or at home, and trying the on again after they have been washed is usually very small but it does make a difference to me and I try to take this in to consideration if the jeans are a tiny bit loose in store when first trying them on. The jeans are soft and very comfortable to put on. If I am having a day when I am a little bloated I do get a few marks on my belly from the waistband but this is to be expected with any garment of clothing when it is too small. There is usually a vast array of sizes stock from 8 - 18 and leg lengths from 28 inches up to either 32 inches or 34 inches. I have never had a problem obtaining the sizes that I wear although once I did place my order direct online and one size of leg length I wanted was out of stock. I always wear the dark blue version but I believe they do black and possibly light blue also, and I have seen black ones for sure in store within the last month.
The sizing in New Look can be a little hit and miss, in my opinion, but I believe that the sizes are generous in these jeans and really there is nothing wrong with a little confidence boost, as long as it isn't too unrealistic!
Overall it is fair to say that I really like these jeans. They are a bargain, at just £10, and they are widely available in store and online. I have only once noted that one of the sizes/leg lengths I wanted was out of stock and this was rectified within 2 days if I remember correctly. These jeans have a nice amount of give in them, making them comfortable to wear, and the material is long lasting and hard wearing. I wash my jeans typically at 30C but if I have had baby sick or other child related mess on me I will sometimes wash them at 40C or 60C and they have held up good so far. The colour takes a considerable number of washes to really start fading, probably at least 15 or 20, and this is pleasing to me. The size changes marginally when they are first washed but I always find this with clothes and the change is very small and just barely noticeable. I have not noticed any sagging of these jeans which is great and I really do feel that these jeans are incredibly good value for money. I will definitely continue buying these, along with other jeans, and they are definitely in my top 3 jeans for relaxing with my family and yet looking like I have made the effort. I am rating these jeans 5 out of 5 stars and feel that they really are worth every penny!
Outside of work, I tend to live in my jeans as I spend the remainder of the week racing around after three kids! Given that my jeans are everyday wear, I don't see any reason to pay over the odds for a brand name. For the last few years at least, I have been buying and wearing these simple inexpensive bootcut jeans from New Look, with prices starting from just £9.99 per pair.
New Look is a pretty successful High Street chain with stores across the length and breadth of the country. One of the reasons that I continue to purchase my jeans from there is purely due to convenience as I have a branch in my small home town, but the stores are so widespread that I'd imagine that is the case for most towns and cities in the UK. For anybody that happens to live further afield, New Look do have a website although this isn't a site that I've ever had occasion to use.
The jeans themselves are available in a wide range of sizes with the added benefit of offering a range of leg lengths too, for a perfect fit. I find them to be fairly generous in their sizing as I fit comfortably in a size ten whereas in other stores I fluctuate between a size ten-twelve. I do sometimes feel that a new pair of these jeans can feel a little tight around my waist initially - although the larger size twelves refuse to stay up- but the denim stretches and softens after a couple of wears and washes and soon moulds itself into a comfortable fit for my figure.
I find the fabric to be comfortable and hard-wearing with the denim being thick enough to withstand daily wear. The material is predominantly cotton but the inclusion of polyester and elastane helps to lend the denim an amount of flexibility which I believe improves both the fit and the comfort. The bootcut style is a pretty forgiving and classic design which I feel flatters my legs and thighs, without being excessively tight or unfashionably loose at the base. This style of jeans can accommodate a range of footwear, from casual trainers to more dressy boots. I also like the cut of the waist as I dislike jeans with a low cut waist as I constantly find myself pulling them up and adjusting them all the time. These fit comfortably without any rubbing or slipping and the combination of a zip and button closure helps to keep the jeans securely in a comfortable position.
These jeans generally wash well without any obvious sign of deterioration or noticeable fading. I wash my jeans on a 40 degree cotton wash and the jeans remain colourfast at this setting. The only exception has been a particular pair of black jeans which did seem to lose an excessive amount of dye, even after numerous washes. The jeans very quickly looked faded and aged which was a little disappointing as this was not typical of my experiences with New Look jeans, even the darker shades of blue denim. I have avoided black jeans since then and have fond the blue jeans, regardless of shade, have been of a consistently high quality. I generally find that I only need to replace these jeans when the knees wear through completely! Given that I spend many hours of my day down on the carpet with my kids, that is not unreasonable or unexpected and I have purchased far more expensive jeans that only last for the same period of time, so I feel that these offer excellent value for money overall.
My jeans are subject to a lot of wear and tear but I find the quality of these jeans to be excellent, especially in light of the low price tag. The standard selling price is just £9.99 per pair and I have even managed to purchase some for less, using a discount voucher that was printed in an in-store magazine, so it is well worth picking up any leaflets in store.
Whilst I often wear leggings I do like to have a few pairs of jeans on the go too as sometimes I want a different look and the jeans that I always buy these days are the New Look bootcut jeans. This is my review of the product.
There are a few things that I love about New Look bootcut jeans and I suppose the first thing is that they come in a range of lengths. I am only small and so I find sometimes that jeans can be much too long on my legs. What New Look does is they offer their bootcut jeans in 28", 30", 32", 34" and 36" legs and so there is going to be a pair to suit most people. I find that 28" ones are best for my size and this way I do not have to mess about with turning them up or anything which is a bonus.
The second thing that I love about New Look bootcut jeans is that they come in various shades of denim and so I have owned dark blue, mid blue, pale blue and black ones from their ranges! I find that as there are various options available that I am able to have a few pairs which I can team with tops to create the best look. I like to wear my jeans with trendy t shirts or jumpers and converse or heels depending on the look that I am looking for. Some of the New Look bootcut jeans are suitable for wearing on a casual night out at the pub as well and I have done this in the past.
The third thing that I love about New Look's bootcut jeans is simply that they really are so comfortable to wear! They are made from 84% cotton, 15% polyester and 1% elastane and as a result they are really nice and comfortable. I like how they stretch a little and are nicely fitted because I think they give a flattering silhouette as well. I find that the jeans are usually true to size but I would say that on some occasions even when I think the only thing different is the colour of the jeans I will find that when I try them on I sometimes need a different size and so I would definitely recommend that you try the jeans on before you purchase them.
The fourth thing that I love about these jeans is the price! At just £9.99 you cannot go wrong with these jeans and I actually recently bought some when there was a promotion on the website where the jeans came out at just £7.49 a pair! For this price I think you are getting excellent value and my favourite most comfortable pair of jeans are actually a pair of New Look bootcut ones that I have owned for a couple of years now! They have been worn and worn and washed and washed and are only just showing signs of the material thinning and so I feel they are excellent value!
If you are looking for a cheap yet fashionable pair of jeans I would recommend having a look in New Look because they are brilliant quality for the price and there are many different shades available to suit people's tastes. I find that they wash well and are pretty easy to iron really, especially if I have used fabric conditioner in the wash and so they are low maintenance too.
Thank you for reading my review!
I need jeans with a 34 inch inside leg however these are incredibly hard to find and I am generally resigned to having to pay £50 or £60 a time for specialist sizes out of Long Tall Sally and places like this.
To my amazement, i stumbled across these jeans in New Look one day and couldn't believe they did 34" inside leg jeans for £9.99 a pair. I quickly grabbed all of the size 10's from the rail and rushed to the fitting room to try them on. I did find that they came up a little bit small and that I could try on two different pairs in exactly the same size, but get two completely different fits, but for the price, I was happy to work my way through them and left with 3 pairs that fitted nicely.
These jeans are Bootcut style and come in black, light blue and indigo. They come in 30, 32 and 34 inch inside leg measurements, they have a medium rise so sit nicely on the hips and they have the usual five pocket and zip detailing. They wash brilliantly and hold their colour well. They are fabulous everyday jeans and for the price, you can afford to have several pairs. They go with everything and I cannot fault them. When they start to look a little tired, just bin them and replace them.
I always go to New Look to buy jeans. Firstly I am on the short side so there 28 inch leg jeans fit perfectly for me.
When it comes to denim jeans you can often get jeans that are too hard and not comfy, however, these jeans are very comfortable indeed.
They don't just come in one colour and a boot leg jeans gives a flattering look on anyone. Also they can be dressed up or down very easily, without any hassle.
I've bought these jeans in the past and I would say they are long lasting, don't fade after a few washes, don't shrink and they also hold their shape. Having said that there is a certain amount of stretch in the jean, making them very comfortable and aren't restrictive like some jeans can be.
The price is very reasonable for a good quality made jean which definitely helps if buying more than one pair to have more pairs in different colours.
I would definitely recommend New Look bootcut jeans to everyone
I religiously go to New Look when it's time to shop for jeans. From experience I know they are always of a good quality and seem to fit better than jeans from other high street brands. What I love most about them is that they seem to last forever. Whereas with other brands colour can fade within a few washes and it does not take long for the hem to take some damage but this is not the case with New Look. I have had buttons pop off with Topshop and zips jam with Primark but I have never had an issue with my jeans from New Look. They are more comfortable than other high street jeans, the fabric is soft and they fit the body well. They are available from size 8 to 16 in most stores with sizes 6 and 18 available online. You can also choose between 30 inch, 32 inch and 34 inch leg length. They are also incredibly cheap and excellent value as they have lasted me longer than jeans I have paid 3 times as much for. They cost about £10 and are available in black and a few different shades of blue.
I bought these jeans recently from New look and found it so hard deciding on which colour to buy so i ended up buying two - indigo and light denim.
The jeans are really competitively priced. These jeans were just £11.99 and for me, that is a bargain! Its not often you can find good quality jeans at a decent price. There were more expensive versions of this pair of jeans but these were ideal.
Normally, jeans are a nightmare to buy, if you are normally a size 12, you could need a size 16 in some stores, but these jeans were bang on. The jeans are not high rise but nor are they low rise which means they sit in the perfect position (for me anyway!) They have a little bit of stretch too which means if you put on any weight or find it uncomfortable sitting down in jeans sometimes, this won't be an issue with these jeans. There are three lengths to choose from, small, standard and tall.
This is the part where i normally get annoyed at jeans. Normally, i find jeans i like, wear them wash then and never wear them again because they do some sort of magic stretching or shrinking trick, where for some reason they never fit the way they did when you first wore them. I washed these jeans and dried them on the line as usual, put them on and they were pretty much identical to what they were when i first wore them... However...
Now for the bad part...
After wearing them for a few hours, i stood up and the knees had sagged, the back had sagged and they looked quite untidy. I am so disappointed in this! but if you were to wear them for a few hours at one time, im certain they would be fine.
Off i go on my quest to find the perfect jeans... maybe one day!
You know that dreaded feeling when your jeans need to be replaced and you don't want to start that terrible task of trying to find a replacement pair- some jeans fit on waist but are too loose on the thighs, some fit comfortably and are the wrong length, some are perfect except for being double your price range! Well New look have solved all my jean buying problems! They have recently bought out a new range of well cut jeans including a boot leg version for an amazing ten pound !The product comes in a variety of colours including black, blue denim and dark wash. The jeans are a medium to soft fabric and feel comfortable against the skin. In terms of fit they are slim fitting but not skin tight which seems to be a recent trend in jeans. There are a number of different waist sizes and three different lenghts, so plenty to choose from. The bootleg is a nice modest flare without being too obvious. The jeans wash well with no loss of colour and so far I've had no problems with the zip which sometimes I find tend to stick on cheaper jean products . Two of my friends have tried jeans from New Look recently and despite us all being very different sizes they have also both found te jeans a good look and purchased a pair. Great value for money and I'm happy to recommend this product! As an aside there is an extensive selection of straight leg jeans in New Look with a better colour range, I bought a pair of these too and would also recommend.
Like a lot of people I love wearing jeans and am constantly on the look out for a good denim bargain. I like jeans to be good value for money, easy to wash, have pockets and have a good range of sizes available as a lot of shops sizing charts and therefore sizes differ - you can be a size 10 in one shop but a size 14 in another different shop! These jeans ticked all the boxes! They are quite comfortable and are a great price but the quality is not reflected in the price as I was pleasantly surprised with how well designed the jeans were and how well they were made compared to the low price. The jeans also survived the washing machine well with the colour barely running in the first wash (was to be expected), and no colour running problems since. The denim is not very stretchy compared with other makes of jeans however they are highly durable.
Jeans can be the bane of my life- length and fit vs cost, and rarely does anyone get it right.
New look have designed a cheap range of jeans and I am quite shocked to say that they fit extremely well. They are tight in all the right areas, but not too tight I can't get them on and I have found them to be very flattering in all the right places (I generally wear size 10/12).
My jeans were all £10 each which I considered to be an absolute bargain considering even supermarket jeans cost more than this.
They come in various lengths and sizes which is great (although I was sent the wrong length for a pair of mine and now can only wear them with boots over the top so do check carefully when ordering off of the internet). I often find it hard to match waist with length due to having longer than average legs but for me these were perfect.
The colour stays on them (well as much as other brands of jeans I own) when washed and they do come in a range of colours. Mine are all the darker blue denim and I really have been impressed with how well they have kept their colour.
For what you get the price really is fantastic, I really can't complain.
My only draw back on these jeans are that the seam on the crotch on 2/3 of my jeans isn't quite straight and they do feel like I need to twist them around when wearing them. This feeling wears off as I wear them for about half an hour (probably after I have stretched them again after the shrinking from washing them) but it is quite irratating. No one else can see the seam problem but it is noticable when you look carefully.
If you are looking for a cheap pair of jeans for day to day use definitely worth a try, however not quite a standard of jean you want as a going out pair.
I wear jeans all the time nearly as I feel most comfortable in a pair of jeans so its important to me to get a pair that fits nicely on the waist and the leg and looks a snug fit in all the right places. When buying jeans I usually shop at next, Dorothy perkins as I find the shape of the jeans to be very flattering and they also wash well and retain their colour for a good while too.
When shopping at new look a few months back I noticed the bootcut jeans for £9.99 and I decided to get some. I have purchased these jeans a while back but I just couldn't remember if I liked them or not but I thought for a tenner I might aswell give them another go.
The jeans come in black, dark blue and blue colours and vary in leg length from a 28 to a 32 and sizes range from 6 to 18. I decided to get a pair of the black colour and a pair of the dark blue as I tend to opt for and feel more comfortable in darker coloured jeans. The jeans are low rise and have a zip fastening with one button at the top.
When I tried the jeans on at home I was impressed, they fit perfectly and the material hugged all the right places to make the jeans look very flattering. I have worn these jeans a lot and therefore washed them a lot too and I must say that the dark blue jeans are looking absolutely fab still but unfortunately the black ones had lost their colour after a while, however for a tenner I have bought a new pair of black ones and they have retained colour extremely well so maybe I just had a bad batch with the first lot.
I don't think theres any complaints to be made with these jeans, they are fashionable, affordable and well wearing. I would certainly recommend.
I always struggle buying jeans as i'm only 5ft 1! The petite range in most shops is for women 5ft 3 and under yet i still always have to have them taken up. I now buy my jeans from new look as they do different lengths and lucky for me they start at leg length 28" which is perfect for me. I sometimes buy a 30" length so i can wear my heels with one pair and my flats with the other pair.
I have these bootleg jeans in black, dark blue and light blue. These jeans are good sizes, i usually buy a 10 and when i bought these in a 10 they had a bit of room in them (which now i fill lol). Each pair is thin and stretchy so they are comfortable to wear even if you are just sat in relaxing. I have had these jeans for about a year now and one pair (that i wear the most) is starting to go thin. They wash well at a low temperature and are still in great shape. I bought these jeans for £12.99 and i think they are a great bargain.
Last year i bought a pair of jeans from next, £32 and i had to pay £8 to have them taken up. I had them for about two weeks when they ripped at the knee as i knelt down. It started as a little tear and looked fashionable but within an hour the tear was from seam to seam across my knee. This made me so mad that i had wasted £40 and i was so disappointed. I have never bought jeans from next since that happened and i definitley won't be now i've found the new look jeans. I think they are great value for money and have lasted about a year so i'm very happy with this purchase.
These are the jeans I always purchase when I need more, new look jeans are great for value and don't wear down too badly. However if you're a taller, skinnier woman you may have problems with the sizings.
I'm a size 12 and at 6ft exactly finding the right height and waist can be very difficult for me usually. But with new look, they give you that little bit of extra room with taller jeans that don't add to the waist. One of the most comfortable jean types I buy they are great for lounging around in.
New look also has a student discount scheme so if you've just left school you can still grab a better bargain on these jeans, making them a really good deal.
I usually have mine for 4 months before they get holey but to be honest the jeans look so fashionable nobody would be able to tell if the holes had been there in the first place.A common place to get holes in these jeans is in the knees so be careful not to drag them around the floor too much.
All in all,for the time they last and the money it's a great value at 9.99 a pair.Perfect sizes for the taller lady and at a better price than the likes of long tall sally!
