“ Brand: Topshop / Type: Jumper „
I love Topshop to the point where people tell me i'm obsessed! It's my favourite place to shop and whenever I have a bit of spending money, Topshop is (well, was before I had my baba!) the first place I headed to. I recieved alot of Topshop vouchers for my 20th birthday back in September 2011 and as a result I headed off to Topshop and went on a mad splurge. I bought this jumper (and lots of other goodies) with my gift vouchers as it appealed to me straight away.
The design is quite unusual and it's very hipster/geek chic/indie/vintage inspired. It has a cool edge to it and it's casual enough to pull of when wearing it day to day with jeans but it also really adds a bit of funkiness when worn over a floral/cream lace dress as it takes away the innocent, girly kind of vibe if that makes sense and replaces it with a unique edge. This is basically a knitted jumper with a honeycomb design (small knitted slightly raised 'sqaures' all over it). In the centre of the jumper it has a large silver 'foil' circle, this also has a knitted kind of texture to it. It shines when in sunslight but not so much that it would blind someone! The colour of the jumper is a lovely baby blue (Topshop describe it as ice blue). This lovely, cool shade of blue really brightens up an outfit.
I wear this usually day to day with either skinny jeans, disco pants, leggings (plain). If i'm going for a boho chic/extra vintage kind of look, I pair it with a printed bodycon skirt (floral, leapord print or a bright block colour) a nice dress or printed leggings. In the summer it will no doubt look gorgeous with high waisted shorts. If you are into the geek chic kind of look then it can be layered over a shirt with the shirt collar exposed. I've also worn this with just tights (it's long enough to do this) with a little vintage belt. It really does go with any outfit - it's so versatile and I am able to create a wide range of different looks with it - casual, edgy, etc.
Topshop clothes are usually quite small fitting however this is over sized so it's about a size bigger than it normally would be. I got this in a size 10 as at the time of purchase I hadn't had my little girl and had a small, neat bump. It's baggy on the arms and body meaning it has a kind of floaty fit to it. I wouldn't reccomend buying a size bigger than your usual size as it will make it look like it is drowning you!! The sizes available are as follows - 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. If you are a size 18 then don't be put off as like I said this is oversized so a 16 will likely fit. If you want a fitted look then I would reccomend getting one size smaller than your usual.
This is made of 100% acrylic and is very comfortable and it is easy to just stick on. It is warm enough to wear on its own around the house but the material isn't very thick so it's not ideal to just wear this on its own in the current (freezing) weather unless you layer another jumper underneath. The jumper is soft with an almost fleece like feel to it. It certiannly feels good quality and worth the price. The jumper is machine washable. I have washed it plenty of times now and it's still in perfect condition. I have had no issues with the colour fading or with it shrinking/loosing its shape. I was also concerned that the circular piece on the front (the foil design) would become tethered or perhaps get a bit tacky with pieces coming off in the wash however it's still perfectly in tact after numerous washes. Price wise, the jumper is priced at £38. I got mine technically for free as I was using my gift cards but I would definetly reccomend buying this if you like the look of it as it's adorable, comfy, versatile and good quality. Topshop also do 10% discounts for students which is better than nothing!
Overall, a lovely, versatile jumper that is currently one of my wardrobe staples! It's a little pricey but as the quality is fab, I do reccomend it!
