When I saw this tee shirt in my local Topshop it caught my eye straight away and I just knew that I had to have it, despite a few minor concerns that it might be a little too 'in your face'! I am quite a self concious person and didn't want people reading the slogan on my tee shirt when I was in public and getting the wrong impression of me, but I'm pretty sure that most people will see it how I see it; quirky, pretty unique and not to be taken seriously. I've never seen a tee shirt with such a bold statement before which I think is why it appealed to me; a lot of slogans on tee shirts at the minute are pretty generic with most bein love related so I found this to be a rather refreshing change.

The tee shirt is available in store as well as online via Topshop's website. It is currently sold out on Topshop's website, however my local store still had them in stock last Saturday when I popped in. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and there was only sizes six and eight left - I'm a size eight so I grabbed one quickly as it is obvious that these are really popular. Saying that though, one of my friends actually looked at me like I was an alien when I picked this up and said she hated it, so I suppose this is one of those 'love it or hate it' kind of items. This is priced at £22 which for a Topshop tee shirt is actually pretty cheap and as it is unique and versatile I am happy with the price that I paid. I usually look in New Look and Primark when I see something that I like in Topshop as there is usually a similar item in there for cheaper, but I have not seen anything similar to this at all.

The style of the tee shirt is pretty run of the mill; short, tee shirt length sleeves and a scooped neck. The sleeves are a little shorter than an average tee shirt and are kind of pointed when they sit on my shoulder if that makes sense and this adds a little bit of subtle detail. The neckline is pretty high and it doesn't show off any cleavage - just a bit of my chest, but as the neckline is quite wide it shows my collarbones which I really like. The tee shirt is longer on me than I expected and it comes nearly half way down my bum. I find this slightly annoying as it's not quite long enough to be worn with leggings, but never mind - I think this would look a little too casual with leggings anyway.

This is a motif tee shirt and it has three words on the front - 'I hate you'. The words are black and they are written in quite a neat font and they're in capital letters. The words fill most of the tee shirt and as they are written on the centre, they are visible even when layered under an open cardigan or blazer. Because of the motif on the tee shirt, it is important to wear it to the right kind of occassions, for example if I'm going out for a drink with my friends or shopping in town this is fine, but if I'm visiting my Grandma it's not something I'd wear as I know she wouldn't understand the quirkiness and would be offended. The tee shirt is very easy to style and I find that it looks nice with skinny jeans either tucked in or loose, and it looks great tucked into disco or riding pants as well. I've not worn this with shorts yet but plan on tying it up so it's a little cropped and pairing it with a pair of leather-look cycling shorts or denim hotpants. I've also toyed with the idea of wearing it with a maxi skirt but I am currently undecided.

The tee shirt is extremely comfortable and it is soft to the touch with an almost silky feel to it. The material is nice and lightweight while not feeling paper thin and it is 100% cotton. I have had trouble in the past with Topshop tee shirts been so thin that they are see-through if worn with a black or coloured bra, but this isn't sheer at all. Although this is a casual tee shirt you can tell by looking at it that it's good quality. The tee shirt is machine washable and it washes well. I've washed mine a few times and it has not faded in colour or lost its shape. I actually got a small splash of sweet and sour sauce on this and was pretty gutted, but the stain came out after two washes and it looks good as new!

I overall highly reccommend this tee shirt and I will be getting lots of wear out of it this summer.
