I have quite a few of the plain jersey tube skirts from H&M, I have a couple in black, one in dark grey and one in navy. I think that they are superb value for money, they are only £3.99 each, and they are brilliant quality and value for money for just £3.99.
These are basically just short jersey tube skirts with an elasticated waist. They are very short in length, mine come to around mid thigh on me - and I'm 5'5''. The style itself is a figure fitting or figure hugging skirt, and they are essentially just a tube of jersey material.
These are machine washable at 40 degrees, mine always go in the washer on an easy care 40 degree wash. They are not suitable to go in the tumble dryer, however I do always put mine in the dryer on low and I've had no problems whatsoever with any of them. They haven't bobbled or pilled, and they haven't shrunk, stretched or lost their shape at all. None of mine have lost their colour or faded at all either. The material is 95% cotton, and 5% elastane.
The jersey skirt comes in dual sizes; 6/8, 10/12, 14/16, 18/20 and 22/24. The sizing is fairly spot on, I'm normally a size 14 and I have the 14/16. This is perfect as it's not too tight so that I get a muffin top over the elastic waist! But it's fitted enough so that it has that bodycon look. The skirts do have quite a bit of stretch in them so it's worth trying a couple of sizes to see which fits better.
H&M always have the jersey tube skirts available in a wide range of colours; as I mentioned I have the black, the dark grey and the navy, and I've also seen the skirts available in various other colours such as; white, coral, pink, green, blue, khaki, beige, brown, etc.
I can very easily dress these skirts up or down, normally though I dress them down and just wear them with a casual top and then tights and boots, or leggings and flip flops or ballet shoes. They are very comfortable to wear and just slouch around in. One thing to bear in mind though is that because the skirts are quite a clingy and fitted style you do need to careful with the knickers you choose to wear underneath, basically watch that VPL!
These are really decent quality skirts for just £3.99, they look and feel like they cost far more than they actually did. They are so versatile, and I would say that they're a pretty handy wardrobe staple, especially for just £3.99. I've been really impressed with these, I'd recommend them to anyone, and I'm certainly going to continue to buy them. At just £3.99 you cannot go wrong with these.
I don't wear skirts that often anymore because I'm very paranoid and self conscious about my body since having Kai last year, but when I do wear skirts I will wear a bodycon because in my opinion they're more flattering than a maxi skirt because they show off my figure better and don't make me look any bigger than I am!
I'm a size 12 and always buy bodycon skirts in my true size because a size too small looks wrong (if its too tight it will have strethmarks on the side of it and look like it will rip open at any minute) and a size too big looks awkward.
I have got a lot of bodycon skirts (even though I don't wear them that often!) and all of them are from H&M. I buy them from H&M because they're only £2.99 each and I really like the range of colours. I've got 1 beige & black stripey one, a black and grey striped one and 2 pink ones and a plain black one. I've also got a grey 1 but I don't wear it unless I want to look smart, but I'm a stay at home mum so that doesn't happen often! Obviously despite being different colour the design is the same, a basic tube skirt made from jersey fabric.
I used to have a few black ones which I wore to work before I left my job, but I don't wear them casually because they look like school/work skirts and I prefer the more exciting colours! The skirt is made from jersey material which is soft, stretchy and really easy to wash and it drys quickly too.
Suprisingly, considering the price, all of my H&M skirts have lasted well and wash well, but when I used to wear my black ones almost everyday to work and wash them really frequently they got a bit bobbly after a few months but still, for the price I think they're great value and the colour doesn't fade quickly or anything. Topshop body con skirts are about £25 and in my opinion you can't tell the difference!
The skirts all have an elasticated waist band so are comfortable and don't make my belly bulge out over the waistband and even though they're very figure hugging I think they're flattering and make my bum look shapely and draw attention to that instead of my chubby belly.
I wear mine mainly when I go out with friends for a drink and when I'm working again I will buy some more black ones to go with a nice blouse or basic white vest/top, although the black and grey striped one I have is quite smart too. The length is just right, it's mid length but the waistband can be rolled up or it can just be worn high waisted if you want it to be a mini skirt.
These skirts are really versatile and look nice on, are comfortable and are great value. I will be buying more next time I place an order on the H&M website and I highly recommend them.
