“ Brand: Boohoo / Type: Top „
I'm supposed to be saving money and therefore not buying any new clothes and I had been doing really well until I put on a bit of weight and none of my clothes fit anymore. At that point I had to give in and buy a few things, and knowing their good prices I made boohoo.com my first port of call. This was one of a few tops I picked up, and I believe I paid £12 for it, though it no longer on the site so I can't check this. It's a shame the picture above has for some reason come out blurred, as although you can just about make out the design you can't really see how lovely this top is. It is a white t-shirt with red stripes across the front stopping at the sleeves, and a large blue heart on the chest with white stars all over it. There were a lot of American flag designs on the site but I liked this one as it was just a bit of a variation on the normal flag and I thought it worked really well. As with most tops on boohoo.com it only comes in 2 sizes - s/m and m/l. The size guide on the site says that the s/m fits size 10/12 and the m/l fits sizes 12/14. After reading through some of the reviews of some items however, it seemed many people found the sizing to be completely out. I'm currently somewhere between a 10 and 12 on top and a 12 and 14 on the bottom, so I opted for the s/m as I didn't want it to be really baggy. I found it fit really well, it isn't really tight and clingy, even on my hips which are towards a size 14, so it doesn't show up any lumps and bumps, but it's not baggy and shapeless either. The material is lovely and soft and it feels much higher quality than I'd expected. One thing I hadn't noticed before I bought it, and that you can't see in the picture, is that it has bat wing style sleeves. Normally I don't like this style sleeve at all, I think it just looks stupid if I'm honest, but these are only slightly bat wing, so it actually looks ok, and I find it feels better on as my armpits are free and able to breathe. This is, in my opinion, only suitable as a casual top, as the cut is just a basic casual t-shirt style which doesn't lend itself to evening wear. If it looked just like it does on the model in the picture I might get away with it for a night out, but it doesn't at all. It looks great paired with jeans or leggings, but I don't find it looks good tucked in so I wouldn't wear it with skirts. I've worn this quite a few times now and I've found it washes well and so far it's kept it's shape and colour well. All in all I think it's a really nice top which is easy to wear and I do get a lot of use out of it.
