Tesco Sparkle and Glitz Fairy Dressing Table
When looking for presents for my little ones last birthday, I came across this lovely Sparkle and Glitz Fairy Dressing Table in Tesco's for the reduced price of just under £12.00, which is a lot less than the RRP of £22.00 and less than many other dressing tables similar to this elsewhere, so I snapped it up straight away, sure that my little one would love it as she is just starting to become a little girly girl and certainly a little princess!
When my little one first opened this on her birthday, her eyes lit up! Luckily, assembly was very easy. The dressing table came in four large parts (two legs, top and stabilising bar) and all simply slotted together with no problem at all. The mirror also comes in four parts (Main mirror, two sides and back bar) and was, again, easily slotted together. The stool, like the other parts, came in five parts which slotted together the same; though this time the legs needed a much harder push to get in. Once they were in, though, they were certainly firmly attached! The dressing table was up and ready within a matter of minutes - I wish all children's toys and furniture would come as easy as this!
The dressing table is made of a sturdy and durable thick plastic and very light in weight. The bold pink colour has a slight shine to it and looks very attractive when the entire table is attached to the matching pink heart shaped mirror which sits firmly on top of the table area. The table area is a reasonable size for little ones, though with the amount of hair ties, headbands, play hair dryers etc etc that my little one has and wants on there, space does become an issue! The legs have little groove on the side which do look a little like small shelves, though these are not really big enough to be anything but decoration. Some small things like ribbons are able to sit on there for a bit though they are easily knocked off if the dressing table is moved.
All in all, this little dressing table is a lovely little present for a little princess. The age specified is three plus, though as long as your little one is stable on her feet, I can not see the problem of younger children having this dressing table.
I do not know whether I would have paid full price for this dressing table and children grow so quickly and the dressing table doesn't, though the reduced price was well worth it!
My daughter received this dressing table for her birthday.
The dressing table comes flat packed. There is about five pieces of hard plastic which simply slot together. No tools are required and takes around five minutes to complete. Along with the dresser itself you also receive a small pink plastic stool.
The dresser when assembled stands around three foot tall. The table itself has several dipped compartments where your little princess can keep her bits and pieces. Above the table is a heart shaped mirror which has pink angel wings to each side. The mirror is of course child proof and is actually mirrored sticky back plastic.
My little girl loves this set and it has been a permanent fixture in her bedroom since she got it.
There are a few negatives to the item although this is purely for the adults as in my daughters eyes it's perfect.
The dresser costs around £12 and you can tell. It can be a little flimsy and the mirror section often comes off when I move it to hoover. The mirror is very easily scratched as the film is quite thin so it soon showed signs of wear.
The box is a little misleading too. The picture shows the dresser with accessories on, there is a hair-dryer, brush etc. I assumed that these were included as did the person who bought it for my daughter, its only on quite close inspection you can see in very small letters that these are not included.
At £12 though I don't think you can moan and my little girl loves it which of course is the main thing. A brilliant present for any little princess.
Sparkle and Glitz Fairy Dressing Table
I stumbled upon this product by accident on day whilst doing my weekly shop in Tesco. My daughters birthday was fast approching and I had yet to decide on what to buy (she has every toy under the sun).
I found the Dressing Table in the toy section and it was on a special offer reduced to £11.50. As soon as I saw it I knew my daughter would like it. It is very girly, pink and sparkly.
The Dressing table comes in a large box and is self assembly. The box contains only a few parts (think there were five) and they assemble together very easily. As well as the table there is a pink stool which is also very easy to assemble.
When assembled the toy is just lovley. A lovley little heart shaped mirror and little compartment for clasps and brushes.
When my daughter saw this toy (and the 14 other I bought her) she was really excited and plays with it lots.
I found a few drawbacks to this product. There is one piece of plastic that acts as a support along the back of the table. This always falls off, although it does not affect the sturdiness of the item.
I have found the mirror (childs plastic mirror) marks very easily (scratches etc)
And finally the box shows items on the dressing table (hairdryer etc) that are not included. Although the box states they are not included I only found this out after I had purchased.
Overall a really pretty girls toy and very easy to clean.
I was browsing through the Tesco Direct Catalogue looking for a birthday present for my niece who will be three. I always find that searching for presents, for children, is quite difficult. Kids nowadays seem to have every game and toy on the market and my niece is no exception.
While looking through the sale items in the catalogue I came across the Sparkle & Glitz Fairy Dressing Table. I decided that this would be an ideal present for her.
There is a dressing table complete with a plastic mirror and also a little stool for sitting on.
I ordered it straight away and collected it from my local Tesco Store two days later.
The dressing table comes in a large pink and white cardboard box and has a picture of a little girl sitting on the stool at the dressing table.
As with most of these kind of toys you have to assemble them yourself. I decided that I would assemble it before giving it to my niece. There is nothing worse than getting a present, and then having to wait until someone makes it up, only to find there is a part missing.
The entire thing is made from hard plastic and is bright pink in colour. The plastic is very sturdy.
The dressing table comes in four parts. There are two sides,(which have three little shelves each), a table top (which has little pieces cut out to put things in) and a stabilizing bar. These parts clicked in together without any problems at all. The table itself stands twenty inches high.
The plastic mirror top also comes in four parts. There is a heart shaped mirror, (which is about 8 inches by six inches), two sides for the mirror, (which are in the shape of fairy wings) and a bar to go across the back behind the two sides and the mirror. Again these clicked into place without any problems.
The little stool comes in five parts. There are four legs and a seat.
The legs were the push in type and were quite difficult to push in. I was happy with this as it meant they were a tight fit. The stool stands about ten inches high and the seat is about nine inches in diameter.
I found this easy to assemble and all the parts were there. When made up it looks really pretty.
This dressing table is not suitable for children under the age of three and it tells you this on the packaging.
The picture on the packaging shows a little brush, comb, hairdryer and some hair clips etc. all sitting on the dressing table. Unfortunately these are not included and it does tell you on the box, although it is in very small print.
This cost £11.50 in the Tesco direct sale. The original price was £22.
My niece was thrilled with her present and I was thrilled with the price.
Mirror table for playing dress up!
