Casdon Mini Market Till..... Jack got a lot of money for his birthday this year and instead of putting every bit of it away in his savings account I thought I would buy him something small but lots of fun so we popped down to our local Toymaster store to see what they had on offer. There were lots of these Casdon toys in the shop and all of them are things that grown ups would use in everyday life but make into toys. There was the option of getting a toy hoover, washing machine and things such as those. The mini market till however jumped out at me as I remember having something similar when I was a child. For £9.99pence I thought it was a good price and snapped it up. The Mini market till is pretty much what you would expect from the name in as much as it is a small till. It has a section for placing the items you want to buy and the fact that there are a few cans of produce and boxes of food that come with the set this makes it all the more real. The till has a built in calculator that makes beeping noises as the buttons are pressed, just like the ones at the supermarket. The best part of the till for me and for Jack is the built in microphone. When pressing down a large button if you speak into the microphone it amplifies your voices again just like what you hear when walking around a supermarket. It is not too loud but it does work well and Jack thinks this is so funny. Along side the calculator there is a small pop out till that comes out with a bit of struggle as the "Cash" button which needs to be pressed in order for this to be opened is sometimes a bit stiff. This however is good and Jack has put real coins inside along with the few plastic coins and paper notes that came with the till itself. It is just one big draw however and I do think it would have been a bit better if there had been dividers inside so that the coins and notes could be separated. The other good thing that this Casdon Mini Market till has is a receipt dispenser. It came with a large roll of paper that can be pulled out of a roll and torn down in a way a receipt would normally. Jack loves this part and I am sure we have nearly gone through the whole roll already! In between the receipt section and the cash button is a false set of scales that really has no purpose and Jack is as yet no able to understand exactly what these are there for but I guess it all adds to the illusion of it being a real till. On the whole for the price paid I think this is an excellent toy and already Jack has had his moneys worth from it. We did however buy another basket of food products the came inside a proper shopping basket and this again adds to making it feel more real. There could have been more produce to come with the toy but I think for the price I am happy with all the extras as it was. It is most certainly a five star toy and worth an exceptionally high recommendation. I would say that I am so impressed with this Casdon Mini Market Till that I will take another look at all the Casdon products that are available at that toy shop next time we are passing and get some ideas for Christmas. They are affordable and lots of fun! I do hope this has been of some help/interest to you. Many thanks for taking the time to read.
