When it comes to removing my make up I tend to take it very seriously. I will spend time removing my make up each night to ensure that my skin can breath and my pores don't become blocked. I vary the products I use for my skin care regime and I am not brand loyal so I tend to buy whatever is on offer although I do prefer a few brands I am quite happy to mix the products with various brands.
One eye make up remover I bought earlier in the year was the Olay Essentials Eye Make Up Remover and I bought it not only because I find Olay products tend to be quite decent but it was also reduced by 50% making it less than £1.50 which I thought was incredibly good value. Olay is a very well known brand and have a variety of product ranges but this eye make up remover is from their Essentials range.
== The Eye Make Up Remover ==
The Essentials range is probably classed as Olay's budget range compared to their other skincare ranges they have to offer. The Essentials Eye Make Up Remover is a cream which is specifically designed to be incredibly delicate and gentle around the eye area but strong enough to remove even waterproof make up. Ideal for those with sensitive skin as it is perfume and colour free.
== Packaging ==
The eye make up remover comes in a colourful blue/black/pink coloured tube which matches a few of the other products in the Essentials range. On the front there is the Olay logo together with the product name and on the back there is information about the remover, how to use it, ingredients list as well as the contact information - all pretty standard stuff!
== In Use ==
The eye make up remover cream is pure white in colour and as stated above it doesn't have a fragrance to it at all which for me at the moment is ideal as I am suffering with sensitive skin on my face and generally anything perfumed can aggravate it. The cream has a decent consistency which is easily squeezed out of the tube.
To use I simply apply a small amount (about the size of a 5p coin) gently spread it out slightly on a cotton wool pad with my finger and then apply to the eyelid rub the make up off gently. I find that the amount of the cream is just enough to remove my mascara (which isn't waterproof) as well as my eyeshadow and eyeliner with no problems although depending on the colour of the eyeshadow I do sometimes use another cotton wool pad with a bit more cream just to ensure that I have got rid of all the make up.
I find that the cream itself isn't oily or greasy and is incredibly lightweight so as soon as it is wiped away from removing the make up it is incredibly absorbed into the skin and doesn't leave a horrible sticky film on the skin. I really do like this eye make up remover and I do prefer the cream version over a liquid remover as I find it is much more gentle on the skin and my skin has been left moisturised instead of being irritated and red.
== Overall ==
I really like this eye make up remover as it is in my opinion a lot gentler on the skin than a liquid remover and I find it much more nourishing. Despite not being made specifically for dry/sensitive skin I find that it looks after the area around my eyes without any problems or irritation and it removes my eye make up with no problems whatsoever. If wanting an eye make up remover than this is definitely one to be tried. 5 stars from me.

Price: £3.05 (Superdrug Dec 12)
I wear quite a lot of make up and usually the facial washes and wipes that I buy manage to remove my make up effectively but because I wear so much eye make up, sometimes a bit of it is left behind. I have tried a few different eye make up removers and been impressed with some of them but when I saw the Eye Make Up Remover by Olay I thought it was worth trying.
What does the product do?
The product is described as being a caring eye make up remove that lifts away all eye make up, including waterproof eye make up, in a delicate and gentle way. It promises to leave the eye area feeling clean, refreshed and beautiful. The product is fragrance and colour free and it has been dermatologically tested.
How do you use the product?
The product needs to be dispensed onto the fingertips and then you need to massage a small amount onto the eyelids and eyelashes while your eyes are closed, using a very gentle circular motion so that you don't cause any wrinkles. You then rub the product away with a cotton pad and with it should go your eye make up and you continue the steps until the cotton pads come away clean. You can then carry on with your usual skin regime.
Packaging and Price
The product is contained within a thick white plastic bottle which has some extra information on it in blue writing. It has a blue flip top lid which is easy to open and close even when you have some of the product on your fingertips. It can stand on the lid so it looks neat and tidy in your bathroom. The products costs around £3 for 100ml and it can be bought from department stores such as Boots, large supermarkets and also from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product doesn't really have a smell at all. It has a hint of creaminess and smells but it's not really noticable at all. The cream is pure white and the cleanser is really quite thick, especially compared with some of the others that I have used. The product feels so comfortable and gentle on the skin and it doesn't sting the eye at all. As the consistency is so thick, it is really easy to apply the product to the delicate skin without dragging or pulling the skin around the delicate eye area. It hasn't caused any irritations on my sensitive skin or caused me to develop any blemishes.
As you rub the product onto the eye area, you can already see the make up being loosened and wiped away. A lot comes away on the cotton pads and although it takes a few applications of the product, all of my make up is removed easily and quickly. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, without making it feel greasy or unclean. It removes every last bit of the eye make up even the waterproof products that I wear... And I wear a lot!
This is a very good gentle eye make up remover which completely cleans the eye area in a quick and easy way. It leaves the skin soft and clean, and with the price in consideration, you will find it hard to find a more effective and gentle product that performs as well.
