I feel like I always look really tired, even when I don't actually feel tired. I think this is a combination of a busy lifestyle and a poor diet but I wanted a helping hand in looking more awake and refreshed. This is why I bought the Absolute Eye Mask by Elemis.
What does the product do?
The product promises to reduce the dark circles beneath your eyes which is a big problem of mine. There are some things that even Touch Eclat can completely cover up! It also helps to firm and tone the skin beneath your eyes which helps you to look more awake and youthful, and in addition it claims that it will brighten your eyes. It promised to leave my eye area looking revitalised and rejuvenated and what's more is that it promises to do so using natural extracts of rose, lavender, mimosa, cornflower and camellia.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used weekly as a skin treatment. After cleansing the skin, you need to apply the product sparingly to the skin around the eye area, taking care not to get any in your eyes and avoiding the eye lid itself. You need to leave the product on for ten minutes and then rinse it away gently.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a very posh looking and eye catching silver tube which I really like having out on display in my bathroom. The lid is a screw top which is silver and metallic and other than some extra information about the product, the design is limited but I think this makes it look more expensive anyway. The product will cost you around £20 for 30ml of the eye cream and you can buy it from a range of large department stores and also from a variety of online websites.
Aroma, appearance and consistency
The product has the consistency of a gel and it has a creamy white cream which becomes transparent as it is rubbed onto the skin. The aroma, unsurprising when considering the ingredients, is floral but it is fairly subtle so it won't put your off if flowers aren't your thing.
I was warned that I would feel a bit of tingling whilst wearing the cream but you don't really feel anything. You can feel a tad of tightening but this might be the mask drying slightly with time. It doesn't harden however and it stays in a gel form until it is washed away. I haven't ever got this in my eye but I would imagine that it would hurt so you do need to apply with care. The mask feel comfortable on my skin, just as if I've applied a moisturiser, and it hasn't caused any irritations on my sensitive skin.
After use my skin does feel softer and with time, it began to appear more toned. I can't say that I noticed a reduction in the dark circles beneath my eyes so I certainly won't be binning my Touch Elcat just yet! My eye area may have been marginally brighter but maybe only because I was looking for it. In short, this product didn't do me any harm but I can't say I noticed any real benefits either! I might use it now and again before a special occasion just so that I feel like I've made an effort, but for now it can stay in the back of my drawer.
