I was debating buying these for my sisters hen night for a week or so, when a friend told me she was going to buy some for her Ann Summers party. We decided that at just over £3 a tray we would go halfs on 4 trays and use them for both nights and would have them for any future parties.
The trays are clear and contain moulds for 5 willy shaped ice cubes. We filled them up, stuck them in the freezer and waited.
When the guests arrived we gave each a drink with one of these ice willies in. The first thing we noticed was at nearly 4 inches long, it depends on the glass you are using, with small wine glasses these were a bit large.
The willies come out of the tray easier than I expected and we didn't have any breakages.
I thought they wouldn't last long in the drinks and would lose their willy shape not long after being put into the drinks but because of the size they stayed willy like for quite some time.
They do look good and float to the top and got some laughs but after one or two drinks each they were all gone and we had to go back to the trusty bag of ice cubes.
At first I thought they were a bit of a waste of time really as you would either need lots of these trays or to use cubes as well. My friend is thinking of freezing the willies and putting them in another container until she has a bag full of willies next time. I have a feeling the willies would get stuck together in a bag and break (ouch) when she tries to take them apart. This puts me off, as well as the fact that when organising parties I am usually too busy to think about refilling ice trays for days in advance and although they are a novelty item they aren't as practical as a big bag of ice cubes.
I was going to go ahead and use the trays for the hen night in any case but I have since seen somewhere that the tray can be used as moulds, so instead I am going to make a couple of bowls of chocolate willies. I did try one tray of chocolate willies and again they looked good and didn't break when coming out of the tray.
A fun, novelty item. I'm glad we bought them, as between my friend and I we will probably get quite a bit of use from them.
If you are going to use them more than once, they could be a good buy, especially if you want to use them as moulds for chocolate or jelly as well as ice cubes. It also depends on how much you want to spend, as we are hens on a budget I think forking out over £12 to make ice cubes would have been excessive and I'd rather spend the money on the drinks they are going in!
For ice, I think I'll stick to the cubes. They are a good idea for the chocolate willies as they don't take as long to set as water takes to freeze, so even with one tray you could make a few trays of chocolate willies. The novelty chocolate you buy doesn't always taste great so you can make nicer tasting willies with this tray.
For drinks I think willy straws would be better value and time saving than this tray though.
My dear other half often shops online with Love Honey and she's bought loads of stuff from them. Perhaps one of the more sedate things she has purchased has been our Willy Ice Cube Tray. We bought ours reduced at only £1.99 for the tray which makes five nicely shaped and well detailed willies. My other half bought these not for any particular reason - it wasn't like she was having a 'girly' night or anything, I think she just saw that they were on an offer and she decided to buy them as she thought they would be fun.
Personally I am not too impressed with the ice tray itself as she always finds it difficult to pop her willies out and she ends up in the kitchen swearing at the tray and battering it about. The she shouts for me to help her and I must admit I find the plastic tray a little it too flexible and bendy and it makes getting the willies out a bit problematic.
The willies themselves are a good size at almost four inches in length and nice and deep. They are quite realistic looking, (if you have a willy under four inches in length and a small girth that is). We like to make ours look better by pouring in fruit juices and cordials and they do bob up nicely on the tops of our drinks when we are sitting watching TV together at night. I don't mind having a soft drink with a couple of willies in it - I'm up for anything.
Overall, I'm not overly impressed by the quality of the tray but the shapes it makes are good and realistic so I suppose I do recommend it but I wouldn't pay full price.
Another day, another willy-related review. Today I'm going to tell you about another product I sold through my hen night novelty shop, the Willy Ice Tray. I was charging £4.79 for each tray, but now you can buy them for a couple of quid each.
There are a few different brands of this type of tray available, mine is made by the stylishly named 'Cock Shop'. It's a single tray which has been moulded to create five willy-shaped holes where you pour the water, the tray itself is rigid so you've no worries about your willies going floppy before freezing.
So, you know the drill. Fill the holes with water and freeze for a few hours, before you know it you'll have the best ice cubes in the country. The frozen willies come out of the tray quite easily, I actually think this tray is a bit TOO rigid for long shapes like this as it's awkward to get a decent enough grip to pop the willies out.
This is the only minor problem I'm having is with the tray itself, it doesn't have quite enough flexibility for popping out such long and thin ice cubes which does result in the odd willy snapping. I'd estimate that for every twenty willies I make one will be broken because of the tray, it could be worse I suppose but there's something kinda tragic about a broken ice willy and I always end up popping the broken one in my mouth to save wasting it. Which (unsurprisingly) raises a titter (and on occasion something completely different) if Mark happens to be watching.
Once frozen you get five willies which measure almost 4" in length, this makes them less of an ice cube in my opinion and more of a swizzle stick. It's more fun than you'd imagine to grip one of these by the balls and use the length of the willy to stir your drink. Gosh, wouldn't you just LOVE to be as decadent as me?! The willies actually look surprisingly good - well, realistic anyway as there is little beauty to be found in the sight of male genitalia. Veins and quite a prominent, ahem, bell end can be seen on each icy willy which just added to the raucousness last time I made them for a party.
Here's a tip, if you don't want your freezer full of willy trays just start making them a week or so before your party. Frozen willies can be taken out of the tray and stored in a big bag (in the freezer, obviously), each set of five will take a couple of hours to freeze so get a bit of organisation going and you'll soon have enough to keep everyone happy.
A couple of weeks ago some friends and I decided to have a girlie gathering at my house while the men in our lives were out to a poker game. As I already have a few novelty willy items I was on the look out for a few more and spotted this willy ice cube tray on sale at Lovehoney.com. As I was already buying a few novelty items I decided to buy one and paid £3.99 for the one I purchased with free delivery. There was no minimum spend to my knowledge but I was buying a few bits anyway.
This ice cube tray makes four willies and each is 3.5 inches long and 1 inch deep. This is a reasonable enough size that you should get away with just one bobbing in the top of your COCK-tail. Obviously this is very simple to use I just remove the paper and plastic wrapping and then gave it a quick wipe/rinse. I then filled this up with ice and left it in the freezer. I ended up making ice cubes for about a week as I would put one lot in before work, one when I got home and one when I went to bed. This meant I ended up with about 80 ice cubes which was more than enough for the six of us to have in our cocktails.
The ice cube tray is very easy to use and it's flexible enough that the ice cubes can just be popped out. The ice cubes themselves look very funny with a fair bit of detail around the shaft of the penis and they went down really well when I served them at the gathering complete with willy straws, willy snack tray and lots of other bits too. It was a fun theme to carry on throughout the night and lets be honest, most of us ladies like to laugh at a willy or two with our friends!
The ice cube tray is very simple to use and it only takes a few hours for the ice cubes to have frozen solid. I was then able to just pop the ice cubes out and place them in a freezer bag to help me build up a stockpile of willies. The tray is nice and robust and there was no problems with me using this continually for a week. Also, once the gathering was done I was still making these up just for the novelty but had to make sure I didn't give one of my young nieces one in her drink on a recent visit!
If you are in the market for a novelty product then this is one for you. This willy ice cube tray won't let you down, is simple and easy to use and if your friends are anything like mine then it's amazing just how much a piece of water frozen to look like a willy will captivate them and get them giggling and chatting!
Fill this ice cube tray with water and once its set, you have 4 frozen willies to chill your cocktail with! Great for Hen Nights and birthday parties!
