When my partner and I decided to buy a dvd player, we wanted something simple to use, especially because of the kids, & I was reluctant to pay high prices for flashy goods.
Well, this is just what we were looking for! The functions on the remote are easy to use. My 3 yr old can navigate through the menu screen quite easily and although it looks expensive it isn't.
The only downside is it accepts mainly region 2 dvds, which are european dvds. This means that you have to be careful when buying dvds made in USA.
I've made a few mistakes in the past & now if I'm not sure or if the region is not clearly stated on the back of the dvd box, I ask the retail assistant.
Once, one of our dvds got stuck, which meant it wouldn't play & just freezed at a scene. I thought it was the dvd player but my partner took out the dvd, gave it a good wipe & put it back in. It didn't get stuck after that.
Overall, I would say it is a very decent dvd player for the price you pay, which is definitely less than £50.
This one of 3 DVD players in our household and this is the one that sits proudly in the living room, the 2 previous occupiers of that prime position are now safely tucked up in my childrens bedrooms.
This DVD is tiny when compared to its predecessors and is increadably thin.
It plays every format you can imagine DVD +R/RW, DVD -R/RW, CD R/RW, VCD and SVCD as well as Jpeg.
It outputs in Dolby Digital and sounds great through surround sound.
The only fault I can find is tah stupid x2 appears in the top right if you zoom in, as we have done in the past on some of these cinema screen DVDs.
Overall excellent value for money at only £50 from Tescos.
