Has won plaudits in industry-leading sports magazines - deservedly so

Recent research has uncovered the need for protein in sports recovery drinks and this has been optimised by the makers of this product. The most effective ratio is 3:1 carbohydrates to protein and this has been captured in this great tasting milkshake. The chocolate version however has a 4:1 ratio for more strenuous sessions. These ratios are crucial as too little protein would negate muscle repair and too much would hamper absorption and rehydration. It has won a host of awards and commendations from Men's Health to Runners World. It is also endorsed by one of our recent world champions from Barcelona, hurdler Andy Turner and other class athletes from rowers to cyclists. Partners also include English Institute of Sport and British Military Fitness. The studies are backed up by reputable sources such as the British Journal of Nutrition. There are two bottle sizes 330g and 500g but I have only actually seen the smaller 'sprint' version at my local Asda. This is recommended for shorter workouts of up to an hour. It's recommended that you drink within the 20 minute window after exercise as this optimises accelerated recovery. Clinical trials have proven that athletes are able to exercise 40% more than those taking merely water or an isotonic drink. Its portability is another bonus as unlike many milkshakes it does not need to be kept in the fridge so you can take it to the gym, pitch, court, or wherever without any risk of deterioration. The casein and whey protein contains the 9 essential amino acids which are crucial in repairing micro tears suffered by muscles after strenuous exercise. These help to rebuild the muscles during recovery to emerge even stronger. The drink is also packed with vitamins and minerals and more crucially contains vital electrolytes such as potassium, sodium and calcium which are lost through sweat. My particular sport is long distance running so I really need to buy two of the smaller sized bottles to optimise recovery after my long Sunday runs of 15 miles plus. These are a bit insufficient for this level of exercise but I have luckily discovered the larger version now at Morrison's. The drinks come in a variety of four flavours. Both sizes are available in Chocolate Malt,Banana and SuperBerry. The Organic Vanilla Bean is available in 500g only at the time of writing. I have tried all these flavours and find that they all have an appealing taste. Their main recommendation however is their effectiveness in countering, and aiding recovery from, strenuous exercise. Highly recommended.
