When my daughter was younger she loved in the night garden and so one of her presents from her aunty was this upsy daisy doll.
**The doll **
The doll is a soft toy and it is the exact copy of the character on the TV show so it is instantly recognisable to little one. She has elasticised spaghetti hair so little one can bend and twist it how they please and the exact copy of the dress the character wears on the show. As the doll has a soft body when all the accessories are removed she can be used as a cuddly toy. You receive a number of accessories with this doll all made out of plastic and fairly durable. Each piece has a place for little one to put them on the doll and back off again as they please. There are clips for daisy's hair, a necklace and bracelet, shoes and a bag. Her skirt is also removable and there is a small mirror to check daisy's appearance one she is fully dressed.
The bag you receive with this doll doubles up as an accessory for the doll but you can also store the other pieces inside to make sure you do not lose them and this was my daughter's favourite part of the doll. All of the pieces are a fair size for little one to hold and move around easily and the bracelet and necklace have no catches or anything fiddly about them they just slide on and off the doll. It can be a little difficult to close once all the pieces are inside but after playing with the doll for a while my daughter was able to figure out how to pack everything up so that it would close.
The aim of this toy is for little one to get Upsy daisy dressed then undressed and then dressed again. It is a fairly simple concept but my daughter loved it as she could pick and choose what she would like the doll to look like. They can add as many or as few of the accessories as they want and create a look they are happy with. All of the pieces are fairly durable but we did have some problems with the clips for daisies hair. They are easy enough for little one to add to the hair by themselves but we found the clips kept breaking and although they can be put back together fairly easily I was a little worried about the size of them when they are broken and as my little girl was only two I decided to get rid of them just in case she was tempted to put them in her mouth.
Her necklace and bracelet slide on the doll very easily and the skirt can easily be removed and put on the doll independently by my daughter which was great. The shoes are easy to get on but we found this is because they were a little big for the dolls feet and this means each time the doll was fully dressed and then moved around the shoes would simply fall off which my daughter was not happy about and in the end they just sat in the bag provided with the doll.
This toy did receive a fair amount of play but it was only for short bursts at a time as it became boring a little quickly even for a two year old child. It was mainly the necklace; bracelet and mirror that got the most use as once my daughter figured out what she liked the rest were left sitting unused. My daughter no longer likes in the night garden so sadly poor Upsy has been boxed up and is now sitting in the loft and will hopefully receive a little more use when my youngest daughter gets a little older.
The mirror is actually still sitting on my daughters play dress up table as she loves this and it has lasted really well as we have had it for 18 months. The doll itself can only be wiped clean but it comes up fairly well so it is still looking new.
The doll is recommended from two years plus which I think is about right the pieces are a fair size and other than the hair pieces there is nothing little one can really put in their mouth but I always keep an eye just in case. Although this doll has no real education promises I do believe it is great for introducing little one to getting themselves dressed. As soon as my daughter began playing with this toy she wanted to try and dress herself and became a little more independent so it is encouraging. Also because they have to put the accessories on to the doll it is great for fine motor skills and recognising what goes where.
I would recommend this toy but certainly not at full retail price as the doll is rather average and some of the accessories are not great. I purchased this doll for £10 from Tesco with my daughter birthday money from her aunty while it was on offer and I think that is a much more reasonable price than the £25 retail price. It is best suited to an in the night garden fan but it would be a nice present for any little girl that likes dressing dolls up.
Upsy Daisy - Dress up
**WHAT IT IS**
For those of you who don't already know Upsy Daisy is a character from the children's television show In the Night Garden. This show is shown on Cbeebies on the digital channel. At the moment it is on in the evening around the bedtime hour.
Upsy Daisy, Daisy Doo that's all I hear my daughter chime every time In the Night Garden comes on the television so I decided when I seen this toy in Tesco on offer I might as well buy it for her. It is a soft toy that can be brought to bed to snuggle up to (as long as all her accessories are taken off). Then in the morning you can dress Upsy Daisy up in her clothes. This toy is suitable for children aged 2 upwards.
**WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE & DOES**
Upsy Daisy looks exactly like what she does in the television program. She has a brown face with a pink head and multicoloured spaghetti look alike hair. She is wearing what looks like a sleep suit with strips and daisy's on it. These are orange, yellow and purple in colour. Upsy Daisy's face is very friendly and she is smiling.
The accessories that are included that you can dress Upsy Daisy in are two hair clips, a daisy bracelet, a daisy necklace, shoes, a skirt and a daisy handbag.
The Two hair clips are different colours one is pink and the other is orange. They both have pictures of daisies on them . They have a easy open clip on them so they can be opened and clipped onto Upsy Daisy's hair. These clips are rather large and are plastic. The one thing I have to say about them is that my daughter is constantly breaking them apart however they do click back into place if I need to do this.
The daisy bracelet is a single rather large daisy and it is also made out of sturdy plastic. There is no catches or anything the way that this is put on is that there is a small gap so you can fit it around Upsy Daisy's wrist.
She also has a necklace which you might have already guessed is made up out several daisies. Again this is made out of sturdy plastic and just like the bracelet there is a small gap at the back for you to put it on Upsy Daisy's neck. It means it can be put on or taken off very easily if you desire to.
The next accessory that she has is what most woman have and that is a handbag. What I like about this cute little handbag with a daisy on it is that you can open it. Inside if you wish you can add a photo. The only thing is that I am not sure how you would attach it safely for your toddler as it is made out of plastic. This handbag fits around Upsy Daisy's arm.
There is a removable skirt that has a plastic bending band around it so you can put it on and off easily. It looks sort of like a tutu. In the television programme Upsy Daisy's skirt is inflated when she dances. Sometimes my daughter pretends she is dancing when the skirt is on.
The last two accessories that Upsy Daisy has is her little pink shoes which are purple underneath with big pink daisy prints (not really a surprise there!) These can be slipped on and off her feet when you want to.
This toy cost me £10.00 on offer at Tesco but I have seen them around £25 in the shops. For £10 I think that this is reasonable value for this toy if your child is an In the Night Garden fan. My daughter seen it in the store and pestered me until I bought it for her but I do feel she has gotten good use out of it.
My daughter takes this toy to bed at night and takes of her accessories. I use it as a tool to help settle my daughter before going to bed as she is getting her baby ready to go to sleep. The toy is soft enough for my daughter to sleep and sometimes she will hug it.
The only bad point I can say about this toy is that I find the accessories are scattered all over the place and parts can be lost easily. I suppose though for a lot of toys this is the case. My daughter likes to dress the doll up and undress her too but I feel if I had gotten her an Upsy Daisy that has no accessories she would be just as happy.
I find that my daughter just chews on the accessories quite often. They are safe enough to do so but I feel that they really aren't being used for their purpose as much as they should be.
I was happy with the price I paid for this product however I definitely would not of paid any more for it as I don't think it is worth the money.
I am a part time child minder and look after myy neice and nephew, while their mum goes out to work three days a week and it's good to keep something in the house for them to play with as they are over around at mine so much.
My niece has had this toy for a while now, she is a big fan of the In The Night Garden show on cebeebies and watches it every day along with her Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle soft toys.
There is a number of different accessories that come with the Upsy Daisy toy, they include:
Flower Clips- these are used in Upsy Daisy's hair, my niece is 30 months old and is fit to put the clips in herself every time, but with also likes a little bit of help sometimes, she enjoys making her toy look beautiful, also there are 3 clips, so my niece always wants you to put a clip in her hair and my own hair too so everyone is dressed up together.
Shoebox- this is a bright yellow plastic round box with a pink floral pattern on it, you can put Uspy Daisy's removable shoes into this which is a really nice feature of the toy as when I am putting on my nieces shoes to go out and she won't sit still, I go get Upsy Daisy and ask my niece to put on her shoes which distracts her for long enough to get her shoes on.
Mirror- a little plastic pink and yellow mirror to let your little one see themselves when they are dressing up themselves and Upsy Daisy.
Bracelet- this acts as a little flower bracelet for the child, and a necklace for the doll, the bracelet is moon shaped and open on one side so it won't get stuck easily on your child.
Upsy Daisys dress is puffy, just like in the In The Garden show and her hair is flexible making it easier to style and play with. She is brightly coloured and soft and cuddly to touch.
She is easily wiped down and dried out if any liquid is spilt on her and within reason shouldn't break or be damaged very easily.
The only negative thing about this toy is that it isn't really educational, it's more of a comfort toy, in the sense that you can only dress it up and that's about it, and is soft and cuddly, there are no numbers, letters or new words for her to learn through this toy, it is more of a nice cuddly buddy for her to chill out on the sofa with after a long day when she needs to take a nap or go to sleep.
This toy is suitable for ages 24 months and up.
This toy doesn't require any use of batteries.
I bought this toy for £20 in a local toy store in my town which was a bit expensive for a doll, but my niece loves her so much I don't mind spending the money, though it should also be available in Toymaster, Argos or online or any good toy stores.
I think that Upsy Daisy is a lovely toy for any girly little girl, she is fun to dress up and there are lots of little accessories that come with her, she is also really soft and huggable. My niece loves her Upsy Daisy and brings her everywhere with her, along with her Iggle Piggle of course too. Overall this is a great toy and a brilliant buy for any little girl aged 24 months up.

Upsy daisy is a girly character from the bbc children's program In the night garden. In the night garden is mostly shown on the children's freeview channel cbeebies and aimed at pre school children. Both Hannah and Jess loved the show last year now they have new interests even though they are only three i was sure they both would love the upsy daisy dressy doll
My daughter Hannah received upsy daisy for christmas from a family member and although she rarely watches in the night garden now, she still likes to plays with many of the toys she has from the show.
Upsy daisy dressy doll costs around £14.99. I personally have seen the dolls for sale from Toymaster and toys r us.
Upsy daisy doll comes in a clear bow with a cardboard back with the accessories strapped to the cardboard, was a nightmare undoing all the metal twist things just to free the doll.
The upsy doll is around 12 inches tall. Upsy daisy has a soft body and head, she is very colourful and looks just like she does on tv. Her hair is poseable and can be twisted around. Upsy has a removable skirt that holds on with a velcro fasten, this is really the only clothing she comes with. The accessories consist of two velcro flowers for upsy hair , a daisy bracelet for upsy and a bigger one for the child, one small pair of plastic pink shoes , a small mirror and a tiny storage tub to keep them all in.
I was quite surprise it is called the upsy daisy dressy doll because as said above the doll only has a skirt on the clothing department. I think the doll is a good size and i like how soft she feels. Hannah is not fussed with the doll and on christmas day she did play with her for a short time.
I feel Hannah was disappointed with the upsy doll because the shoes do not stay on her feet and the velcro daisies don't stick on upsys hair.
The parts are really to small and easily lost. We currently have a naked upsy daisy in the bottom of the toy box with no idea where her accessories are. What a disappointment of a popular toy character.
I would not recommend this toy to anyone. It has no entertainment value nor is it fun.
In the night garden has got to be one of the most popular childrens program I have ever known. My children like most others watched this 3 times a day and never failed to love it. When all the toys came on the tv my daughter kept asking for them, so when it came to christmas last year I shopped around for different toys for her. My nan has even knitted some for her because she was so into the charactors.
When shopping around asda we saw this Upsy Daisy doll that had some accessories with it. My daughter automatically fell in love with it and played on the heart stings of my partner of course he backed down as normal and let her have it. When we came to buy it, it was £15 which was a little more expensive than I would have liked it to be but we bought it anyway.
When we got it home we opened it for her to play with, this doll was 12 inches tall and the whole doll was soft. The interesting thing that I found about the doll was its hair. It was slightly bendy due to some sort of plastic being inside this allowed my daughter to bend her hair a little in different directions which she found interesting but because it was securly inside the fabric my child could not hurt herself on it. This looks alot like the upsy daisy on the tv which is very good because some toys are made but do not resemble the charactor that it is supposed to. The accessories that came with this teddy doll were really good because my daughter got more than a teddy toy. She came with a skirt that was detachable with velcro which made it easy for my daughter to take on and off. She came with two pink plastic shoes which were easy for her to put on and take off and when they were on they did not fall off the upsy daisy which was really good, also the shoes were quite big so they are not able to be put into the childs mouth to cause a choking hazzard like most dressing up dolls. It came with an upsy daisy bag which was made from an orange plastic with a picture of a big flower on, this bag is easy for a child to open and close which is good and will hold both shoes or the hair accessories or bracelet. The bracelet was a big flower that was easy to slip onto the doll and also didn't fall off and the last thing was the hair accessories which were 4 flowers that had a different colour centre to them. These flowers attached to the hair of the doll because the hair is made from a slightly different fabric to the rest of the doll.
My daughter really likes this doll to play with and can really pretend a story line game with her. The doll is easy to dress and very interesting for a child to play with. It is a soft doll so the child will not hurt themselves on it. The accessories are very big and bulky which makes them safe for the child there is no choking hazzard which is brilliant. I have a younger daughter so the fact that they are able to play with this together and they will both be safe is very good. This doll has turned out to be a good bedtime teddy for my daughter and is a good cuddle toy. My daughter has had hours of play time with this doll and it has worked out to be the one of the best toys and safest toys that she owns. I would highly recommend this to in the night garden fans from 6 months old it will bring them alot of fun.
The first thing I can say about this item is that it is never worth the £29.99 Amazon are asking for it currently. It is not even worth half of that though that is what we paid for it - £14.97.
My daughter kept on and on about getting this one Christmas that when we saw it on offer we grabbed it as a last surprise sort of present. However when she got it on Christmas Day even she was disappointed with it.
The Upsy Daisy doll is pretty much the same as the talking one except that it doesn't talk. It comes with pair of pink shoes which are plastic, a removeable skirt, velcro flowers to stick in Upsy Daisy's hair, a bracelet, a mirror and a little orange plastic box with a flower on the front which will store all the bits in when not in use.
Upsy Daisy has 9 strands of posable hair for your child to stick the velcro flowers in. And that is all there is to it. I am being absolutely serious there was nothing more to this toy whatsoever. It was completely rubbish. My daughter played with it for all but 10 minutes and has never picked it up since.
It originally cost £29.99 which is absolutely absurd. For that amount of money (had I not got it half price) I would have been expecting it to have gold somewhere in it. My advice is to save your money and avoid this doll like the absolute plague. You are seriously only paying for the brand and nothing else. A complete cash in on kids and their parents from Hasbro I am afraid.
My daughter has never really been a fan of the In The Night Garden programme so i was very surprised when she received the dress up Upsy Daisy doll for Christmas last year. Although she knew who Upsy Daisy was, she wasn't overly excited to see the toy and was more interested in her Peppa Pig and Fifi and the Flowertot toys.
A couple of days after Christmas she finally asked for it to be taken out of the box and played with it for maybe ten or fifteen minutes, and thats about it!
The Upsy Daisy doll comes with a pair of pink plastic shoes, a removeable skirt, a couple of little velcro flowers, a bracelet, a mirror and a little plastic box to put the items in. Upsy Daisy has several strands of multicoloured hair that are poseable and the flowers stick to them.
That is it. To say i am pretty disappointed with this toy is a real understatement. The price of this toy is around £21.99 which i think is quite outrageous and you are simply paying for the name because this toy doesn't warrant paying anywhere near that price in my opinion. For that price i would have hoped it would come with lots more clothes and items, and/or even talked. The recommended age is 2 years+ which i would say is about right because at that age your child will know what to do with the clothes and flowers.
My advice would be to save your money!
