“ Brand: Flair / Type: Doll House „
My little girl fell in love my younger sisters old Maple Town house, when we were kids Maple Town was the sylvanian Families equivalent. As she enjoyed playing with it so much my mum decided to treat her to her very own, after the shock of the £60 price tag we decided Willow Hall was the prettiest. My daughter loved it however you get very little furniture or figures with any of the Sylvanian Family houses, you have to build on your collection a piece or a room or family at a time. The house has lights these look really pretty, you can also add to this and purchase more lights as there is a fitting in each room, you just need to remember to switch them off when play has ended or it will cost new batteries everyday, believe me I learned this lesson eventually. The house is sort of self contained it closes in to a neat shape, then opens out for play, you can change the size of a couple of the rooms by removing partitions etc and you get ladders so your families can go upstairs. You can also add to the house with a conservatory which is around £30 and garden etc, this can then be added to the sylvanian village, it really is neverending. We have had hours of fun collecting and playing with sylvanian families it also provides a neverending christmas list for family and friends.
I bought this at a local toy shop for £59.99 and at first I was very impressed, although it was quite expensive compared to other plastic dolls houses it was very good quality. When closed it is something that you would actually like in your living room rather than a tacky plastic piece that you want stowed away, it opens up nicely and is very easy to play with. I have also noticed that it is a lot stronger than other houses so if your looking for something long lasting this is it. The only downfall for me was the lights, after a month they stopped working, I tried changing the battery's but they still wouldn't come on, despite this it is still a great Sylvanian house to buy, the lights are an extra feature. Overall Willow hall is a great long lasting dolls (well animal I suppose :) house, it's suitable for any young girl - especially those that aren't attracted to Barbie's overwhelming pinkness!
The Sylvanian Willow Hall was bought as a Christmas present for my five year old daughter. She already has several other sets from the Sylvanian range, and this one was bought by Nanny and Grandad at a cost of £49.99 from the Co-op. This is one of the larger houses in the range and it folds out to reveal five rooms, two of which have working lights which can be switched on and off. There is a winding staircase which can be moved so you can put it on either side of the house. There is an upstairs balcony with doors and a door downstairs which opens and closes. Downstairs you can add a peice of flooring which gives you an additional playing area. I believe this house does not normally come with any characters or furniture, but ours came with two rabbit characters, childrens bedroom furniture and some kitchen furniture and a small table and chairs, which was enough to furnish most of the rooms, although as we have lots of other Sylvanian sets this wasn't a problem as they can be mixed and matched from other Sylvanian houses. If, however, this is a first Sylvanian purchase, you may need to buy a few bits and pieces of furniture and some characters, as it could be disappointing to discover that there are none included. In my opinion, this is another quality toy from the Sylvanian range, they are very well made, and there is a great attention to detail, although some of the furniture sets do include some very tiny pieces that can get lost easily. There is an add on to Willow Hall - Willow Hall Conservatory which we will buy as a birthday present in June. This toy has given my daughter hours of entertainment, and hopefully will continue to do so. Unlike some toys, out of all the sets we have, nothing has got broken or split at all, and so we are very pleased with this toy.
Sylvanian Families offers a unique blend of traditional family life play incorporating houses, furniture, accessories and memorable characters all with the incredible detail that young girls love. You can add to your collection with the new characters and accessories. Willow Hall is a beautiful Victorian style house and the first house with lights in Sylvania. The Hall's two lights are interchangeable and each can be turned on and off. The house opens up to give access to all five rooms as well as creating a large play area in the centre.
