Fifi forget-me-not is a children's television character seen on sky channels of Nick Junior as well as Channel Five's Milkshake. Along with her friends, the flowertots, Fifi goes about her daily life, solving problems and generally having fun. Children between the ages of two to perhaps seven or eight would love this show. To find out more, search 'Fifi and the Flowertots' online.
Fifi lives in forget-me-not cottage; a small yellow watering can house with blue framed windows, a back and front door and a balcony on the roof. This toy mirrors her actual house perfectly, right down to the dancing flowers!
It resembles a watering can perfectly, complete with spout and sturdy handle, though also has windows and doors (which the doors open though often fall off too!). There are two floors on the inside of the cottage, each with two main rooms, though the ground floor also has an extra round piece of floor in the middle when you pull the cottage open. In one room is a banana shaped sofa with leaf shaped stairs leading to the upper floor. On the other side is a small stove with flip-open door to enable a child to insert the small buns into the oven and wait for them to actually rise (the door shutting makes them rise which is magical for a young child!). In the centre is a kitchen area complete with sink and work surface. Upstairs you have two rooms, the first has small hooks to hang the hammock on, and the second is empty. All rooms are complete with curtains at the windows made from soft material as well. Upon one side of the cottage is a roof top area with pink fencing around. This has a small trapdoor hatch in the floor which opens up and allows a ladder to hook on to the underneath and rest on the floor of the empty upper floor room.
The cottage comes with six Fifi characters and a small range of accessories which include;
Wardrobe which opens up to store the apron
Four leaf Chairs
Deckchair which folds up
Wheelbarrow which characters can hold
Apron which clips on to Fifi
Cake tin where the cakes rise in the oven
Flowerpot complete with flower ring which the child can wear
Watering Can which is magnetic to allow the flowers to the side of the cottage to dance
Swing (see below)
On the spout of the watering can cottage is a small opening which the swing, shaped like a leaf, can be hung as well as a plastic stick being fitted to the end of the spout which fits on one of the characters and swings it around as though he is flying.
In my personal opinion, I think that this is one of the best little house toys on the market. I would certainly be happy paying the top price for this as it provides hours of fun for young children and lasts years as the child grows as well as long lasting durability wise.
My children also love playing with this, though my eldest is a little too old for it now at ten years of age, though my youngest still spends hours playing with it.
Fifi Deluxe Forget-Me-Not Cottage
My daughter may only be three, but she is already completely into little people and little houses, and what with Christmas coming up, there were only so many Peppa Pig items we could buy her, so was on a hunt for something else. We came across this Fifi Forget-Me-Not-Cottage on Ebay practically brand new for only £7.00 and so snapped it up. I have since seen this on Amazon for up to £20.00 plus postage and packaging, so we really did get a great bargain, and even better - my daughter loved it!
FIFI FORGET ME NOT
Fifi Forget Me Not is a children's character seen on Nick Jr and Channel Five's Milkshake; 'Fifi and the Flower Tots'. Although her name suggests that she remembers everything, she actually forgets a lot of important things, yet with the help of her friends always remembers in the end. It is a fun-loving, simple programme, full of colour and laughter with some great characters in which my daughter loves.

Anyway, with that out of the way, let me take you on to this wonderful toy.
Fifi Forget Me Not lives in a lovely little cottage shaped like a watering can, and that is exactly what this little house is. It is mimicked exactly upon the cottage in the television programme, so is instantly recognisable.
The watering can cottage is in lovely yellow and pale blue colours with a sturdy handle at the back as well as one situated on the top to make it easier to carry. The spout is on the other side, which can be removed for storage. These parts of the watering can cottage, although also there for the design and practicality, are also very much part of the cottage. The handle on the top has two small safe hooks which a small white plastic hammock can be hung from creating an extra bed for the little people, and the spout lifts up slightly to position a small leaf swing onto, as well as having a plastic stick coming from the end which fits into the bottom of one of the little people and can be made to fly around in a circle by a little handle on the inside of the spout which is positioned above the stove inside the cottage. The swing has a thin string attachment to it to hang it on the spout which is actually quite strong though if it does break, it can easily be replaced by the usual household string. The little plastic stick is probably the only real flimsy part to the toy as it bends very easily which makes it difficult to put into the little character.
The cottage can be played with either open or shut. When shut, it takes the shape of the watering can and is kept closed by a little hook which is shaped like a flower pot which has some lovely flowers inside which can be taken out to reveal a flower hair clip for your child to wear themselves. This comes complete with a little flower ring which Fifi herself wears as well as your child now! Although there are a number of pale blue windows which you are able to see into, only one has outside shutters which you can open and close. There are also two doors in the same colours which open and close easily. For decoration purposes, there is a little pipe that leads into a barrel as well as pink and green flower patterns all over. Underneath one window are some more flowers, though with these you can actually water! I do not mean with real water, though, but with the little watering can that comes with the cottage. When you press this against the flowers, they actually dance!
There are three levels to the cottage. The top level is a roof balcony which can also be accessed when the cottage is closed. This has a little pink railing around it and a small hatch which you can open which leads to the inside of the cottage. A little detachable white ladder can be hooked underneath the hatch to lead to the second floor. When opened, the cottage splits the second floor in half, and the first floor into three parts with no assembly required. The second floor is pretty much empty allowing room for the child to put the other little pieces such as the bed and wardrobe in there. On one window, there are some material curtains which can be opened and closed and hooked back like curtain ties which are great! There is a lovely leaf shaped staircase which leads to the lower floor which has immovable objects in; a banana sofa, sink, desk and stove. The stove is the only interactive immovable part on this floor with one of the stove lids lifting up and the oven door opening allowing you to put the little tin of cakes inside. This is the part my daughter loves; when you put the cakes in the oven and shut the door properly, the cakes rise! It is a little difficult for my daughter, though, and even I find it tricky to open and close the oven door properly.
The cottage comes with many different accessories including Fifi and five of her friends; Violet, Primrose, Bumble, Slugsy and Stingo. Fifi, Violet and Primrose all have legs which bend to allow them to sit and stand, and Fifi's arms bend to allow her to grip the wheelbarrow. The other characters do not have movable limbs and are quite bendy so if too much force is put on them, they can be bent out of shape, though due to the soft plastic make, I doubt they would actually break. All the characters stand up well which is a great thing as it really frustrates my daughter when some of her Peppa Pig figures do not stand without falling over! Fifi and Bumble are also slightly scented, although I can not place the smell, it is a little bit like rose scented lip gloss! This scent stays around for a long time!
The other accessories include;
* Bed - This comes in two parts, though is very easy to assemble. It also has a plastic cover which rises up and down via safe hinges at the bottom to allow you to put the characters in bed easily. The cover is shaped for Fifi, Violet and Primrose though you are able to get the other characters in too (except Slugsy) though without the comfort fit!
* Wardrobe - The wardrobe has two doors which open and close with space inside to put a few small pieces.
* Table and Four Chairs - The table has a middle piece which flips over to reveal either an empty table or a table set with plates and food. The four chairs have a green leaf back with pale blue leaf shaped legs and flower seating area, also in pale blue. The backs of the seats are a little flimsy in the way that, like some of the characters, can be bent easily, though this time, I can see them break if too much force is given!
* Deckchair - This can be laid flat, or opened up to shape the seat with two height adjustable positions. This comes in handy depending upon what character you want to sit in it. The seat part is a white and flower print material seat which can not be removed so does get a little grimy after a while, though I do try to keep it clean by wiping it every now and again though the material does not allow this to clean it well.
* Wheelbarrow - Fifi's hands are shaped to hold onto this wheelbarrow and once she is holding it, you can get her to push it along as the front wheel turns really well.
* Apron - This small apron is quite annoying as it keeps getting lost as it is so small! It is also quite bendy and once bent out of shape does not click onto Fifi or the others very well at all.
* Flowerpot complete with flower
* Watering Can
The one main disappointing fact, although certainly not one that should stop you from buying this great toy, is that although the cottage has a handy carrying handle, you are not able to keep the accessories inside once the watering can is shut as there is just no room what with all the objects that are glued to the inside of the cottage. This is such a shame as the outside is designed for this nature, though the inside seems to have missed this idea. It does not stop my daughter from carrying the cottage out with the little figures and accessories in her little case!
In my opinion, this has been one of the best purchases in the last year or so. My daughter plays with it every day, and also includes her little Peppa Pig figures in it, although they can not be used alongside some of the accessories. Apart from the plastic stick on the spout already bent, everything else has withstood drops and tempers. There are no scratches on the toy at all, and it has fallen off of the table many a time! There are so many interactive parts to both the cottage itself and the people and accessories and has provided hours of play for my daughter.
The one problem I have found is that this toy seems quite difficult to find. At the moment it is on Amazon being sold from Viz Toys and Games Company, though I was hard pressed to find anywhere else that had it other than Ebay. Do look around, though, as once you find it and buy it, you certainly will not regret it. As already mentioned, I was very lucky to pick this up for such a low price, though even at near £20.00 I would say that it is a great bargain!
I would recommend this toy for the age of two years plus and I can see it lasting the child for a good many years.
My daughter received the Fifi cottage for her third birthday. Despite owning two dolls houses already, this play set has almost overcome both of them to become her firm favourite.
Designed in a unique way to capture children's attention, the cottage is true to Fifi's house in the series and is in the shape of a watering can. There is even a handle that enables the house to be carried around when closed.
Upon getting the house from the box the first time, there are a few parts that need putting together. These are essentially added extras to the cottage that make the play set a little more special than just a standard playhouse.
The spout of the watering can has a little handle on the end that is reached from inside the cottage. Attached to the end is a plastic area for Bumble the bee to be attached to, which means when the handle is turned, Bumble looks as though he is flying.
There are other nice little touches such as a piece of string that acts like a winch for a basket to be lowered from the roof. This can carry supplies for Fifi from her house to the ground.
I was quite surprised at how many added extras were included, although some of them are quite small and fiddly to play with. Because of this, I wouldn't give this cottage to a child under three purely for the safety side of it.
Watching my daughter play with the house, I can see the entertainment factor for small children who love to watch the TV series. Many a time she has asked me to play with her, and we take a share of the characters that were included. We have six which cover the main characters, but I have seen some sets are sold with only two. I think having more makes it better.
As the cottage has so many features, we can make each play session different. The furniture included is well made and contains some clever designs. Fifi's bed for example is designed just for the Fifi character as her silhouette is carved out underneath the blanket, so you can place her under the plastic cover and it looks like she is in bed.
The curtains are authentic, and placed on little curtain poles. They are quite fiddly to replace if children take them off, but all the fittings are plastic and none of them have broken yet. Each door can be taken off its hinges and replaced easily by an adult, but not a child.
My only niggle with the design of the cottage is the way it opens and closes. Once open there is a good surface area to play within. To shut the cottage requires the window sill on the outside to be slid across as a catch. This isn't so easy for a three year old to understand, and also when it's time to open the cottage. I think it would take some brute force to break, but there may have been an easier way.
Overall, considering the price of this cottage which I have since found out to be around the £15 mark, I think this is a good buy for any Fifi fan. The set is well made, and the quirky features make it that little more special. Also the fact that it's not in the shape of a house is a good selling point.
Recommended in our house.
This was a present for my 3 & 2 year old daughters and they both love it. We already have lots of house-type playsets, but this one really does stand out from the rest. The cottage is in the shape of a watering can and when you open it out there is lots to play with inside. It comes with both bumble and fifi figures and an attachment to make bumble fly around the spout of the watering can. There are flowers on the outside which move magnetically when "watered" by the dinky little watering can included, a bed and wardrobe for fifi, a hammock and a kitchen with oven and cakes that rise when you take them out.
The inside of the cottage is on 2 levels and has a leaf spiral staircase on one side and also a moveable ladder. Once opened up it's easy for 2 children to play with at the same time. The top of the cottage is a roof garden and one of the accessories is a tiny little pot plant that comes apart to make a little flower ring - a big hit with my little girls.
All the accessories fit neatly inside the cottage once closed up and the whole thing can be carried by the top handle.
This toy doesn't have any lights or sounds so no batteries are required.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone with little flowertot fans!
I must confess that I actually bought the Flowertot cottage as 2nd hand through the free ads in our local newspaper. I had not previously seen it advertised but my 3 year old daughter enjoys the T.V programme very much and as it was being advertised for half its retail price I thought I would surprise her with the gift.
It was in immaculate condition when I got it so I feel I am able to review it accurately. I was really impressed with the detail and thought that whoever designed the cottage had given it. Right from the buns that bake and rise in the oven to the flowers that respond to being watered! My little girl loves it and I must say it is one of her toys that I enjoy playing with alongside her! I would be happy to pay the retail price for it new and it has given my daughter hours of fun. The only negative comment I could make is that there are quite a few small detachable parts which we sometimes lose under the sofa or I have to make sure my 1 year old isn't trying to eat - but that's all I can say on a less that positive note. I would recommend this to any fan of Fifi - it's a lovely little play house and has lots of accessories to make it really fun.
My daughter received this forget me not cottage last Christmas. After browsing through the Argos book she seen it and liked it. I was a tad reluctant to buy it to be honest considering she wasn't really that into fifi and she would only watch her if there were nothing else on. In the end she received this gift from her uncle.
I was quite surprised to see that the box appeared smaller than I expected.
The cottage is in the shape of a watering can. It is very colourful consisting of a bright yellow with a pink trim and blue window compartments, some have shutters too. The cottage is fairly small but I think the point is being that you can easily move it around and take it along with you by the handle on the top.
The outside of the cottage has a barrel and a few planters with plastic flowers that make it look very girlie and pretty.
The cottage opens on the front by sliding a planter to the side. Inside has wooden effect flooring and a few different compartments for the rooms. The kitchen is at the bottom and contains a dark green oven. The middle section contains a sink and a cabinet. The other bottom section contains a funky seat in the shape and colour of a banana. The top section contains a tiny compartment and opposite is the bedroom. This is a bigger section and it is the only room with curtains. There is a section at the very top of the cottage you can get to this by a little trap door way. It has a pink plastic fencing around it. The cottage also has a removable spout that contains a swing.
You also get a few bits and bobs free with the cottage, these consist of characters such as fifi, primrose, violet, slugsly, bumble and stingo. You also receive a few furniture items ranging from a bed, table and chairs, deckchair, wheelbarrow, a small watering can and a plant pot. All characters are mildly scented.
The age range for this cottage is 3 years and over. I think that this is very acceptable considering some of the parts are quite small.
The cottage costs around £29.00. In my opinion I think that this is a bit too steep considering the item is so small. My daughter is more than happy with the size as it is easy for her to move and she does enjoy playing with it. I can see that she has to lie down and play in order to see in the cottage completely.
I love the colours and the idea of the cottage being shaped like a watering can but on the other hand I would have liked it to have been a little bit bigger. I would recommend buying it though as it has provided a lot of hours of fun for my daughter.
Fifi was a firm favourite with my daughter 3 years ago and for her birthday we got her the Fifi watering can cottage from Toys R Us.
It was really expensive in my mind at £29.99 but her friend had one and that was all she played with at her house.
When I opened it up I was really impressed with all the accessories that came with it. It had
* Fifi herself is a 3 inch hard plastic figure that bends in the middle so that she can sit down.
* Her bed which is also made of hard plastic but has a hing in it so that the blanket can move and it has Fifis body shape in it so that you can put her in and cover her up.
* Fifis wardrope that opens up
* A 3 inch bumble figure
* A 3 inch Stingo figure
* A little water can with magnet inside to water the flowers in the window box, the magnet makes the flowers move as you water them
* A hammock to hang from the handle for anyone to go in.
* A flower clasp which fits into the lock that keeps the cottage closed
* A flower ring that goes in a little pot.
* A ladder for Fifi to climb onto the roof
* A piece of plastic that took me ago to work out that it fits into stingo and into the rose of the cottage and there is a handle inside that you turn to make Stingo fly.
* Leaf stairs
* The cutest little bun tray with buns in it to put in the oven.
* A table with a swivel top so one side is empty and the other is set for tea.
The cottage itself is around 15 inches and opens up to form the playset base. It has Fifis livingroom and kitchen downstair complete with cooker. Once you fit the stairs Fifi can climb up to her bed room and then up the ladders ( which are really figgety to fit - adult required) to the roof and swing in her hammock.
This toy is extremely well made and well worth the money in my opinion. The only negative is that you cant leave the ladder attached when you close it.
I bought my son the fifi watering can cottage off eBay for the bargain price of £5 from someone who lived a few streets away so I didn't even pay postage. My son is only 20 months old so it isn't recommended till over 3 and this would be down to the small parts.
It does have all the characters from the TV show in it Stingo, primrose, violet, slugsy, bumble and of course fifi. I would say this is definitely in my sons top 3 Christmas gifts. His favourite thing to do is to take fifi out of bed which has a hinged blanket then put her back in bed. Upstairs also has a hammock which is a bit fiddly to hang but seems to come down very easily. Bumble seems to sleep quite comfortably in this. There are curtains in Fife's room with ties backs which also can be pulled off.
Downstairs is the kitchen and dinning area with banana sofa which is attached. A lot of the small parts I have had to remove form now as my son was trying to eat the tray of buns but there is still plenty for him to do. Both the shutters and doors open and close. It does have a watering can handle for carrying.
The spout of the watering can has a swing which my son loves to put bumble in and shouts wee as he swings him around.
This is a great toy for developing the imagination but with the familiarity of characters that he loves.
My only negative is that so many of the parts are removable such as the door, shutters' am not sure they need to be
This cottage is fantastic, it has loads of differnt accessories inside including differnt characters: fifi, violet, slugsy, stingo, and bumble.
In the house there is a cooker that opens where you can put a try of buns in and they magically rise, a little watering can that when you water the plants they move, plenty of furniture the only thing is with it be careful as there is some very small parts like little diner plates and things.
It has a little lockl on the front aswell so you can put it away when done and a carry handle on the top.
I think its very reasonably priced retailing in most stores for £24.99 and i think in various other stores you can get it cheaper.
For any child that loved FIFI this is a great toy for them and you will get a lot of use out of it!
This Fifi Cottage is brilliant you can buy it from Argos for £29.79. The cottage comes complete with over 30 accessories and is suitable for children 3 years and over.
We brought this for my daughters 3rd birthday which was a couple days ago and they loved it. The overall cottage is shaped like a watering can and all the accessories can fit into it. There is a handle which you fix on the top of it making it easy for your child to carry around. The cottage comes complete with 6 of the Fifi favourite characters: Fifi, Bumble, Primrose, Violet, Stingo and Slugsy. The characters are scented and are great as there not to small so are easy for your child to play with and there very bright and cheerful.
The cottage has lots of things for your child to play with and surprise things for them to do for example some of the accessories that come with it are: A little clip on apron for Fifi for when she is baking her cakes. Inside the small oven is a baking tray with cakes on and when you put them in the oven and take them out the cakes have raised. The window box has flowers on top when you lift the flowers out you will realise that it is actually a little flower slide for your child, the same with the flower pot with flowers in when you lift it you will realise it is a flower ring that should fit your child. There's a little swing which you can fit the characters on and push them. A table with food on when you flip the table over the food has disappeared and it is an empty table. My daughters couldn't work out how this has happened. A hammock and deck chair so your characters can relax. A watering can which when you water the flowers they move, and a bed that the duvet opens and the characters fit inside it and they lay down. Also there is a rod which you attach to the spout of the watering can and Bumble clips on to it and flies around. There are lots more accessories that I haven't included like saucepans, plates, cups, sofas, a sponge which you put iced water on and it takes the muddy prints off Fifis boots and there are lots more things.
I think this cottage is a great buy as there's so much for your child to do and they can really get involved with it. Whether there pushing the swing, opening the shutter curtains or watering the flowers. I think this will really improve your child's role play and fine motor skills. Some of the accessories that come with are quite small like the plates so you just have to watch they don't get lost. I think its great how there are a lot of surprises on the accessories. Some of the things I hadn't even realised what they could do like the cakes rising until I read the instruction booklet, which I recommend you do so your child doesn't miss out on extra things that it does. .My daughters played with this for hours and they didn't get bored. I would say this is one of my best toy buys and I'm going to look out for some more of the Fifi bits that you can buy like the market stall and shop.
The only negative things that I can say is that it said the characters are scented but mine weren't. I got other people to check as thought maybe I couldn't smell them but they definitely weren't. This could have been a fault on just the characters we had. Also there was a small watering can missing from the accessories that came with it. But other then that I really recommend you buy this and I'm sure your child will love it.
Fifi Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a beautifully designed play set replicating Fifis watering can house from the popular TV show. This award winning product comes with six scented characters including Fifi, Bumble, Primrose, Violet, Stingo & Slugsy and includes many exciting features offering great play value and enjoyment.
