Over the last few months I have been reviewing a large number of the figurines within my rapidly growing Betty Boop collection. As previously stated, it has been necessary to slow down on my purchases due to the fact that I am running out of space! The figurine I am discussing today is one of my older purchases and I was unable to review her until now due to the fact that I was not able to provide Dooyoo with an accompanying photograph. Her name is quite simple and that is Betty Boop Sitting. Similar to the majority of my figurines this Betty sits at 12 inches in height and is quite unique due to the proportions of her body. When I saw this figurine on the shelf at a local Betty Boop shop she stood out considerably, as in my opinion her head seems too large for her body. I don't know if it's my imagination with the size of her head, but nevertheless this figurine is extremely cute. However, the high price tag initially put me off, particularly as the seller was asking £50. As I was on first name terms with the Betty Boop man due to my extensive purchases he had previously offered me 10% discount on all of my purchases. However, on this occasion he was obviously aware of my hesitation and promptly offered me a 25% discount. As I'm never one to turn down a bargain I snapped her up as quickly as I could! The resin figurine is considerably heavy and I would estimate that she weighs well over a kilogram. I'm not quite sure of the outfit that Betty is actually wearing, as on the lower part it looks like a swimsuit, which has been painted in a beautiful red and fits tightly to show off her neat figure. As usual she displays her rather ample cleavage and around the neckline the resin has been created to give the impression of fur, as this area is considerably raised with hundreds of tiny scores within the resin fabric. Across Betty's chest we see several lumps and bumps, which create the illusion that her outfit is rather too tight for her! Betty's sexy long slender legs are positioned to her left hand side and on her feet are a pair of red high heeled shoes with pom poms attached to the toe area, which match the fur located around her neckline. Both of her arms are stretched behind her to support the weight of her body and on each of her wrists we see a gold chunky bangle. I'm not quite sure what's happened to her normally petite fingers, as on this figurine they are rather fat and resemble that of sausages! As you are no doubt aware, Betty's gorgeous black glossy curls are depicted by eight points, which run along the top of her hair and a further eight curls around her face. Betty is a lady who absolutely adores her jewellery so she wears a huge pair of chunky gold earrings, which match her bracelets. Her stunning green eyes look towards her right hand side and tiny black eye lashes have been painted onto her face together with her perfectly groomed eyebrows. Betty's puckered lips are almost identical in every figurine that I own wear they are painted ruby red. There is not really much for me to say about the rear of the figurine other than the fact that there are a few ruffles in the "fabric" around Betty's neck. The manufacturers have even designed small creases for Betty's elbows; something which I hadn't noticed until scrutinising the figurine for the purpose of this review. There are four small circular rubber stoppers on the underside of the figurine to protect the surface on which she sits. As you may be aware all of my collectables generally display the logo of the manufacturer, namely The Heart Holdings Inc who are the owners of the Betty Boop trademark. However, for some strange reason whilst the logo is normally painted onto the figurines on this one there is a cheap and flimsy transparent sticker, which in my opinion will soon fall off. Cleaning the figurine is extremely easy by way of a small clean paintbrush and as my Betty is stored behind glass it's a task I carry out only half a dozen times per year. This is an absolutely stunning figurine, which receives 5 stars from me. If you are interesting in purchasing this collectable I would advise that it is currently available on Amazon for £55 inclusive of P+P, but in my opinion this is a little too pricey and I would recommend you shop around. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
