      Pets at home reflective collar

Eddie the dog is a gorgeous black working cocker spaniel. He has got a gorgeous dark shiny coat but when we go for walks in the evening he is very hard to keep an eye on. We have fields out the back of our house that he can go running off lead in which he loves but as the nights are drawing darker now its hard to find him in the dark which is the reason why we got him this reflective collar. During the day he has a really nice leather collar and lead as my husband is a bit snobby about him looking his best and doesn't want him seen in a cheap nylon collar but for our walks he changes into this one. The collar is nice enough but its not as nice as his leather collar which makes him look very smart. This collar is made of nylon and so it is quite flexible and fits around his neck well. It seems to be comfortable as he never really makes a fuss putting it on and never pulls at it or anything. What I like about this collar is that it is adjustable so I was able to fit it to him perfectly and now don't have to move it at all. To fit it properly you must make sure that you can fit two fingers inside it and so its not super tight on his neck but then will not be too lose and choke him and possibly catch on things when he is running.  The collar is easy to put on. It has a plastic clip that snaps into the other side of the collar and then when you want to take the collar off you just press on the two sides and it slips out, very easy to do one handed when you are trying to stop a wet muddy Eddie run off into the living room after our walks.  The collar is blue and has reflective strips all the way along it. These show up well in the dark when he is darting past me and this collar definitely serves its purpose well, of letting me know where Eddie is although I can't see him. Its actually quite funny to see reflective lines zooming past you and that's all you can see!! There is a little metal hoop on the collar so you can attach your lead to it and I just clip my lead on and it works well.  The collar costs just £5 so is very well priced and is available at Pets at Home.

      A good collar

~~Pets at Home Reflective Nylon Dog Collar~~ In the United Kingdom, by law, dogs when out in public must wear a collar with its owners address on it. In fact an owner could be fined up to £5,000 if their pet isn't wearing a collar when out and about. My dog almost always wears a collar. The only exceptions to this being when he is bathed, has a haircut or flea treatment is applied to the back of his neck, as this solution can react with the metal on the collar. I also think the chemical can cause the dye from some collars to run onto the dog's coat. One collar my dog wore made the fur on the back of his neck turn dark blue if it was put on after a bath when he wasn't completely dry. Sadly, dogs can escape from their home and in cases such as these it's not only a legal requirement that the dog is wearing a collar but it also makes good sense. It is advised that a dog's name should not be included on the tag due to dog stealing; it could be easier for a would-be dog thief to entice the dog away if knowing its name and being able to call it by this name. Information on this tag should include the owner's name and address. A telephone number is also advisable. My Westie dog is micro chipped but it is still much easier and quicker, if a dog is lost, for someone to return him by looking at the tag on his collar and reading his address. Also, if a dog is unfortunate enough to be involved in a car accident then the driver must stop their car and give details to the dog owner or walker. If the dog has got out alone then the accident must be reported to the police. Obviously wearing a collar with identity would benefit all parties. Joey's lead has a thin collar attached to it for the purpose of walks and we fit this collar over his head. It opens out (Joey likes to put his teeth on it first as if measuring/gauging the gap and then he moves his head into this!) and fits over his collar. As Joey always wears a collar I need to ensure, as best I can, that the collar is comfortable and he is happy to wear it. I always make sure that any collar I purchase for him is fairly soft and has enough pliancy in the material for a comfortable fit. The collar that Joey is wearing at the moment is from Pets at Home. I chose a reflective collar in the blue striped design. It must be over a year since this collar was purchased and first worn. It has been washed a few times and looks still good. My husband and I chose this collar for Joey because: It appeared as if it would be comfortable to wear. The collar is fully adjustable. Also it is easy to adjust the size. This medium sized collar fits neck sizes 35.5 - 51cm. It is made of a nylon reflective material which is a bonus where safety is concerned when being walked in the dark. The price; we felt that five pounds was a reasonable amount to spend on a decent collar. Design; we considered that the pale blue and grey colours of this silky nylon collar would suit Joey! SIMILAR PRODUCTS/PRICES Joey's reflective collar is from Pets at Home and is in a medium size. The collar is available in: * small £4.00 0.06kg * Medium £5.00 0.043kg * Large £6.00 0.056kg * Pets at Home reflective dog collars are also available in other colours and designs and the stylish pooch will be pleased to know that matching leads are also available. Some dogs do not have to wear a tagged collar, such as guide dogs, police and army dogs, sheep dogs, emergency worker dogs etc.

        great collar

I bought this Pets at Home Reflective Nylon Dog Collar a while ago so its about time i reviewed it. I bought this for my collie dog Toby he is 11 years old now and still very active and healthy. I decided to treat him and went to my local pets at home shop in hamilton. I am a big fan of pets at home as you can take your dog in the shop with you and they always have filled water bowls and treats out for your dogs. I searched the massive ranges of collars on offer in the shop and could not decide on what one to buy. The friendly shop assistant offered me help to find the perfect collar and i must say she was very helpful and full of great advice. We decided that the nylon collar would be the best option. I choose it because my dog only wares a collar for short periods of time usually put it on when we leave the house for a walk and i remove it when we reach the large field where hes let off to burn his energy off. I needed a collar that was quick and easy to remove and this collar had a clip release very easy to use. I also walk him at night and liked the reflective pattern on the collar, the pattern has small paw prints and bones on it. The collar can be bought in a variety of colours and sizes. They also have matching leads so your dog can be coordinated. The collar cost me £4.99 and can be bought online too. The collar is made from strong durable nylon, it may be strong but the nylon is soft and flexible and caused no discomfort to my dog. The collar has a d ring metal hoop for a lead to be connected to. The collar can be wiped clean with a cloth and warm water. The sizes- small H47 W4 D 1CM medium H66.2 W4 D 1cm I got these sizes of the wbsite so i could be precise. I really think the collar is great and was cheap. Its lasted me over 6 months and has plenty of ware left in it. I will be buying this colour again as it so well made and my dog likes it too. Pets at Home are offering free delivery just now and it usually costs £4.00 for delivery.

Pets at Home Reflective Nylon Dog Collar

When we got our puppy we thought that we shouldn't get an extremely expensive or flashy collar since she would grow out of it quite soon being a lab. So we thought this would be perfect. We took it to the place where we were getting our pup from so she could get used to it and so it would have the scent of her mother and brothers and sisters but as soon as we put it on her her brothers and sisters had a great interest in it and in minutes it was getting destroyed! So we put it on her when she got home. At first she didn't notice it but when she startes to get to her wild and exploring days she wouldn't leave it alone and it quickly got scratched and batered but that didin't seem to mind her. I recommend buying a soft collar, not leather or string for puppies since their skin is quite sensitive. Over all great collar for small pups.
