Bobbins-Bobbins-Bobbins!Stay well clear and spend your hard earned cash on something that won't annoy the pants off you and then start falling to bits before it finally packs up for no apparent reason other than sulkiness. This is the third indesit product we have had to replace (washing machine and tumble dryer have already bitten the dust). There should be a nickname for anything produced by indesit, which cannot be printed here but accurately describes where it it will ulitmately leave you!!!(I've only rated this with one star because I cannot post a review without it - I actually wanted to leave it as unrated)Grrrrrr......

Very poor. I bought one of these for my folks. Worked ok for the first year then the catch that holds the door broke. It was made out of cheap plastic. the machine now functions courtesy of gaffer tape holding the door closed. The seal around the door leaked as well. It also has the amazing ability to mark all glasses that go into it. They all become cloudy very quickly. On the other hand I bought a Bosch basics dishwasher at approximately the same time as my folks. It was only about 20 quid more expensive but it doesn't mark glasses and everything still functions correctly 4 years on. I certainly wished we had spent just a wee bit more money and bought a Bosch when out shopping for a dishwasher for them.

A poor machine with too many faults

I have an Indesit D63 dishwasher which has caused nothing but problems in our house. The plates and glasses come out feeling gritty no matter what I do. We live in a soft water area but it is always kept topped up with Rinse Aid and salt etc. The GAs Board, who service our appliances, say that the sprinkler bars must be cleaned frequently but even this does nothing to hel the problem. The original filter has been replaced witha plastic one but with no improvement. I have now given up using it and would rather wash the dishes manually except on big family mealtimes. I will never buy another Indesit machine!

        I won't buy another one.

I have owned this machine for 5 years now. It washed dishes adequately when working properly, although the drying was not up to much. I only ever used the standard program. It has failed me on a number of occasions (I won't bore you with the details) but the most irritating problem is the flimsy, brittle filter assembly. This continually floats out of place so the system fills with gunge. It first died 6 months after I bought it, then a year later when it apparently needed a replacement motor and timer, though I believe the nasty greasy little engineer was of suspect character and did more work than necessary. It developed an intermittent leak, and has now died again, probably because the leak fried the electrics so I am giving it the chop. I won't be buying another Indesit because of the filter problems.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I recently purchased an Indesit D63 dishwasher, as my old dishwasher finally gave up the fight for life! The dishwasher arrived in a few days from QED-uk.com, and the service that I received was very good. The delivery arrived on time and the delivery-men even assisted me in moving my old machine to the front garden for removal. As to the new Dishwasher itself, it replaced an older Indesit model so I was pretty au fait with the workings of the machine, the installation was simple enough, and it came with a few “freebie” cleaning tabs enabling me to get started straight away. Using the machine is very straight forward, the rinse aid and cleaning tab compartments are both very accessible, and easy to use. My only whinge connected with installing the machine is that to load the salt into the container you do need to be a bit of a contortionist, once in place it would be quite difficult for a person of limited movement to refill the salt container. That said however my main complaint is the bottom tray, which in my opinion is totally useless. My old model had a “split” tray; half has designed with ‘metal prongs’ to hold plates vertically, and the second half kept clear and designed to hold pots/pans or any larger items. The new model’s trays have been redesigned to incorporate the entire lower tray to hold plates only, there is no spare room for larger items. If you do decide to try to wash your pans on the bottom shelf they need to be precariously balanced on the metal ‘prongs’ intended to hold plates vertically. Stacking pans or larger objects in this way left several items scratched, and the washing performance at best satisfactory! This is in my opinion the worst re-design that Indesit could have possibly introduced, to the extent that I saved my old tray, took off the new wheels and swapped the bottom tray from my old model, and am now very merrily using that again! In b
rief this would be perfect for someone who does not wash large pans or articles, but has lots of plates!
