======== The Price ======== I purchased this Beko DWD5412 Dishwasher from Argos a few years ago for approx £220, which at the time seemed like a reasonable price. Argos are no longer selling this model, and Amazon have also discontinued the model. eBay have one for sale at £67, however it is in used condition. Appliance World are selling the Beko DWD5412 model for £250. I would suggest keeping a look out on auction websites to see if there are any refurbished deals available. =========== Specifications =========== Dishwasher features: * 4 temperature settings. * Sequence indicator light. * Salt refill indicator. * Rinse aid refill indicator. * Overflow protection. * Hot air drying system. * Filter system. * Cold water fill. * Adjustable top basket. * Cutlery holder. * 4 foldable plate racks. * Water softener. * 5 programmes. * Economy programme. * 30 minute quick wash programme. * Intensive wash programme. The size was perfect for fitting into the available space in our kitchen, and was easy enough to fit into place and attach to an outside water pipe. ~*~*~* Energy Efficient ~*~*~*~ The reason for opting for this dishwasher was for three main reasons; one being that it graded A in energy efficiency and drying efficiency meaning it wouldn't add much to my energy bill. The second reason was that I wanted one that was reliable, and being a Beko branded appliance I knew I would get many years of use from this dishwasher due to it being a highly reputable manufacturer. The third was I wanted a reasonably priced dishwasher and therefore this ticked all the boxes. ~*~*~*~ Loading the Dishwasher ~*~*~*~ The dishwasher is very sturdy and is built well, there is more than enough room inside the dishwasher compartments for a number of dishes, plates, glasses and cutlery. The trays inside are sturdy and strong enough to hold a number of items, The trays are easy to extend and push back in, which made it very easy to fill up the dishwasher without having to reach and crawl into the dishwasher to add more items! The great thing about this is that the inner trays and compartments can be rearranged to accommodate different sized items, so you should easily find a place for those big dishes that couldn't fit in the previous dishwasher. ~*~*~*~ Settings and Controls ~*~*~*~~ The dishwasher has a total of 5 different settings to choose from, and to be honest I just stick to the standard settings which consist of loading the unit and selecting the energy A setting that washes the contents very well, managing to remove even the stubborn stains and residue. The settings are all clearly labelled along with 4 different temperature settings which consist of few dials and easy to distinguish controls. Occasionally I do opt for the quick 30 minute quick clean option, depending on how many items I have to wash, if it is just a few glasses and plates etc that need more of rinse sort of wash then this setting does the job. Taking approx 30 minutes to complete the quick wash option means I can get on with cleaning the dining table and kitchen worktops, and within that time the dishes will be done and can get the annoying unloading the dishes job done sooner rather than later. ~*~*~*~*~ The Cleaning ~*~*~*~*~ The results are great, we have loaded the dishwasher with many dishes with stubborn residue that would take ages to clean by hand and the dishwasher manages to clean all dishes, plates, cutlery and glasses with ease and excellently well. It also does depend on the type of dishwasher tablets used, but all in all I haven't had any issues where I've had to rewash anything by hand due to the dishwasher not washing items properly. ~*~*~*~*~ Is it Noisy? ~*~*~*~*~ The Beko Dishwasher has a slight drawback and that being the noise that it makes during operation. It is quite noisy for a dishwasher to be honest, although it doesn't drown out the conversations we have in the kitchen, it still makes us have to raise our voice slightly at times to be heard. The noise isn't a huge issue for me, as I find it isn't that bad that we have to put the TV louder (lounge is next to the kitchen), it is just a mild annoyance. ========== Conclusion ========== Overall I am very happy with this Beko Dishwasher, as it is easy to setup and use thanks to clearly labelled buttons and has vast number of settings to chose from. The dishwasher holds more than enough room for a number of dishes etc and most importantly the results are great and it is a very energy efficient appliance. Therefore I rate this dishwasher a great 5/5.
