      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Disgusting customer service, poor quality workmanship

I am placing this review to hopefully discourage readers from even thinking about purchasing a Tesco Kitchen.

Please, please don't go there - choose anyone else, it's just not worth the hassle.

      In a nutshell,

      1. We had to have 2 design visits, the 2nd one to put right what the first once missed

      2. A dodgy 1st fitter who arrived and asked us why we were bothering to have a new kitchen

      3. Lots of incorrect items were sent so we had to wait to have the correct ones delivered again

      4. Tesco left us without a working sink for around a week so had to wash up in the bathroom

      5. The fitter damaged the oven tower unit when installing it

      6. The fitter virtually threw in the electrical sockets so I have now had to have them re-done by someone else

      7. And finally but certainly not least, Tesco Kitchens customer service is non existent. They tell you they will assign a champion to look after you during the whole process, what a joke! They only call when things are going right but the moment you have a problem, they refuse to call you back. Even after the whole saga was over, a Manager from Tesco Kitchens dealt with my complaint and offered me an insulting £72.50 compensation. To date, I have never received it and every time I call them, they tell me they will look into it and surprise surprise never call me back.

      PLEASE AVOID!!!!!!!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Have to give 1 star for review to be aired, but ZERO stars from me!

Unlike the other reviewer on this site regarding Tesco kitchens, my experience is totally different.
We went with Tescos for a new wet room and a new kitchen as we had just moved into our new and last home.
We had no trouble at all with Chris our installer for the wet room - he was marvellous but.....
I am still awaiting for my kitchen to be completed since our initial order from October 2012.

I am still waiting for my granite tops because a) the installers would not complete because the units are not fixed to the wall and b) my instructions regarding the etched right-hand drainer (which my top did not have) obviously were ignored.

We have had problems with nearly everything in our dump site of a kitchen. I cannot lay floor or wall tiles until a Tesco employee visits to assess what needs doing again.

1)We have had trouble with self-closing doors not closing and the cornice being cut wrongly.
      2) The installers put an electric switch BELOW the water filter from my fridge freezer - I wonder what would happen if the filter should leak!
      3) Anywhere you cannot see, the installers cut corners with the units. We found gaping holes (that you can put your hands in) where the plinths are.
      4) We found a piece of wood not screwed down properly laying inside the top of the oven. If this fell down it could have started a fire.
      5) They left a LIVE electric wire, which they had cut, on the other side of the wall. We found this out when we had an electrician in to install a new RCD.
      6) I had a tumble dryer installed in a cupboard, but to my amazement every time I used it the inside of the door and the unit next to this was riddled with moisture running down. When asked of the installer why this was happening, he said "you will have to keep the doors open when using the dryer". We got another builder in and he pulled the dryer out - guess what - the vent that went outside had been ripped, so the moisture was not getting outside.
      7) The hood was held on by double-sided tape, not duck tape. Also, it was installed crookedly on the wall.
      8) They did the electrics wrong also. I cannot use more than two electrical things at once because the fuse box keeps tripping. Why? Because they did not use the individual cooker fuse. They clumped all the electrics together.
These are just some of the things that happened. We are now waiting for the area manager to visit us on Tuesday - with all these problems and more, Tesco still do not feel they should arrange to visit us sooner.
After all the money we have paid out. I would say to anyone now to be careful of Tesco promises regarding their kitchens and bathrooms. It all depends on the installer you get. Make sure you give your kitchen a good look over and under everything before you pay.
My husband has actually now seen our solicitor regarding shoddy workmanship.
Oh, and by the way, make sure your installer isn't the same as ours!
      Good Luck.

      Avoid Reface at all costs.

I wish there was a 'zero star' option. Reface installed my replacement kitchen a few years ago now IT needs replaced.

The vinyl has started to peel and crack and looks terrible. Alarm bells should have started to ring at the length of the disclaimer list they made me sign before proceeding with the work. If you do invite them to work in your house be sure to read it carefully and contemplate why it contains so many caveats. I am annoyed at myself for not considering this more fully.

The company's showroom looks good and the salesman who came to visit was pleasant, but this is where the professionalism ends. The product installed I would rate 0 out of 10 for value. The finish was rough around the edges and the cheapest of fittings were used. There were also a number of unsightly joins in woodwork, seems and vinyl overlaps. The installation team was rude as were the after sales support (laughs) staff.

If you want a new kitchen please avoid Reface. They claim to be cheaper but in reality it is false economy. I would recommend you find a local joiner to fit a kitchen from somewhere like Ikea or Howdens.

Ive just had my kitchen fitted by mls kitchens after reading a review from dooyoo and I must say the service has been brilliant. They were great from a price point of view and their units were the best quality I looked at in my price range. If I had to complain about anything it would have to be about my dishwasher being fitted and the front of it being damaged which I had to wait for but this was delivered and fitted 2 days later apart from that everything else was great.

well today our kitchen fitters finished our kitchen, we are absolutely over the moon at the finished kitchen it looks like a showroom, right from the start when Mike Smith came to design our kitchen we were under no pressure and he is a lovely man. After delivery our fitters arrived John Sutherland and his two boys Mark and Dave (well I call them boys, but they were 31), they worked like trojans, very tidy, friendly and they loved our coffee!!!! We hugged them goodbye this afternoon and we shall miss them, except the early mornings!!! People who complain must have been unlucky or just moaners, we had a couple of hiccups, but nothing that couldnt be sorted, they were an amazing bunch of guys and we are proud of yourwork, thank you so much.

Absolutely terrible service, goods missing, damaged, poor quality white goods. Over charged for standard pull outs. Work started in March and finally finished in September! Received compensation and club card points but would never recommend.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Unless you are desperate look elsewhere the customer service is ZERO

We were only able to get a price for the kitchen by having a salesman/designer come to the house without this you will not get a price ! He arrived on time at 7pm and left at 10.45pm yes that late !
Printer didn't work and so we had to wait for the design to be emailed through and this was different to what we had discussed and was again changed.
When the surveyer came agian things were changed but not too much even though cupboards would not fit where they were designed to fit, the cooker had to be moved as it wouldn't fit (Why bother with a designer) !!
Once the fitter had been and surveyed the kitchen and a date was set for the fitting all was okay I will say now that if hadn't been for the fitters I would have cancelled everything They were first class but be aware that Tesco sub contract to various fitters and trust me there are some really bad ones.
The units all arrived flat packed in the most horrendous weather and we had the fittings in the living room!! When it came to the fitting the fitters discovered that Tesco don't know the difference between corniches and plinths so we had no corniches but loads and loads of plinths, wrong sized cupboard door and then when we informed Tesco they blamed the fitters for not checking the order But who put the order together in the first place Yes that's right Tescos.
We had almost daily emails and phone calls right up until we paid the kitchen price which was before anything was fitted, since then Tesco do not want to know. I have made a formal complaint but still haven't heard any thing.
I agree entirly with the last review decent quality kitchen that could have been purchased a great deal cheaper and for the same quality. The customer service is ZERO please be aware.
We had 4 people who were waiting to see the outcome of our experience with Tesco needless to say none of them are going to Tesco.
P,S, we were going to have a complete new bathroom which we have now had fitted BUT NOT BY TESCO

a local company putting the national companys in the shadow

After having the likes of Tesco kitchens, Wilson Fink, Diane Berry, all of whom were very pricey I decided to search for a small local kitchen supplier and stumbled accross MLS Kitchens and a very friendly man by the name of Mike. I must say Mike was very easy going and went through my design on a CAD program followed by demonstating the samples along with worktops. I had specifically requested Neff appliances as I really wanted the flip down oven door which was an absolute must as my kitchen is very narrow and this was not a problem. I also wanted a Neff induction hob which after discussing with Mike I opted for the 900mm version with a Neff canopy. I was very taken back when Mike called me the following day with his price as it was half the price of Diane Berry and Tesco !! I was still very sceptical but Mike told me to log onto freeindex to read his reviews which immediately put my mind at rest. I paid for the Kitchen in full and it was delivered 10days later all ridgid and ready for installation. The next day Mark the fitter arrived and stripped out my old kitchen and fitted my lovely new walnut kitchen and back splash over 2 and half days. I did have a small issue with one of the pull out larder units after a week but after a phone call to Mike , Mark returned within 24 hours to adjust and I have been over the moon since !!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

MLS Kitchens are a small kitchen company doing it the right way and I wish them all the best !!!

I dont normally leave reviews on these types of sites - but I felt obliged to leave some feedback and tell other people who are looking for a kitchen about MLS Kitchens ( www.mlskitchens.co.uk) . I stumbled upon this company via Freeindex ( www.freeindex.co.uk) where they are rated Number 1 kitchen company in the whole of the country . From first contact Mike was very polite and arranged to come and see us and design our new kitchen. We advised him which style doors we liked and he brought them with him for us to see . He then measured our kitchen and designed it there and then - no long sales pitches and he listened to our requirements and implemented them into the design. He then went away to cost up - this helped us out really as we needed to be somewhere - other companies usually have you waiting hours for a cost. Later that day we received an email from Mike which included the 3D visuals from our proposed new kitchen a complete breakdown of which we were getting and a cost for the installation. Having read through the quote and looked at the visuals we were pleasantly surprised with the price and especially the installation cost . We then contacted Mike to tell him to go ahead and small deposit was required for him to get the ball rolling and the kitchen was delivered and installed within 2 weeks without any hassle and Mark the fitter kept us informed on timescales from start to finish. Again I cant thank Mike and his team enough for the quality kitchen and expert workmanship .. Thanks guys a***

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      fantastic quality price and fitting

I was dreading going through the process of a new kitchen after all the horror stories you hear. Contacted two companies in Burnley and they didn't even bother to return my calls. After looking at the reviews for MLS , I decided to get them round. Mike called and designed the kitchen making a few good suggestions on the way. Showed us a 3D picture on his laptop and all looked good. He then hit me with his price! I couldn't believe it- absolutely spot on, much better price than anyone else could have done.
Then I started to worry about the quality of the units and the fitting as it was a lot lower price than I thought it would be. No worries there at all! The fitting by Mark was absolutely first class and the quality of the units is the same. In fact, I still find it hard to believe that I could get a kitchen of this quality for the price.
If you ever need a new kitchen, do not hesitate to contact MLS Kitchens, you cannot go wrong.
      Thanks Guys- great job!

Where do I start... I booked to have a design fit from Tesco, which went well and on the strength of what was drawn up I decided to pay my deposit and proceed. That's when the whole thing went wrong. The fitter who came to finalise the plans said that there was no way that the design could be installed and that I would need another design visit. Well 3 design visits later and many missed appointments by Tesco I was no near getting my kitchen fitted.I've wasted time off work for appointments Tesco never kept.In the end I gave up and asked for my deposit back, which they held for 2 months.I wouldn't touch Tesco kitchens with a barge pole.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      absolutely atrocious

We had 25 problems with them all in all and it took them 5 months almost to fit it. Problems range from items missing and damaged to them actually losing the key to our property. They subcontact the work and blame it on the other company. They make promises and dont follow through ie they said we will get compensation but now saying we wont. They subcontact to a conpany who use polish fitters who do note started putting in gas piping into our propery when not asked to. They dont care when theyve got your money. And i would love to name our area manager of debyshire who rang me using a disgusting tone of voice telling me he will no longer be our area manager as kt is a personal upset that basically i didnt stop moaning about their f*ck ups. What do they expect? So please beware and go elsewhere! I will keep fighting for my compension. BTW tesco kitchens is actually mark two so bear that in mind too.

      Very proffesional company.

We have just had our new kitchen fitted by a company from Manchester called MLS (mlskitchens.co.uk) and must admit that although at first sceptical am very happy. The salesman that came out was very laid back compared to some of the companies we had out and the price was pretty much the best we had been quoted apart from Howdens through our builder but upon inspection was like weetabix! To give you an idea we picked a white gloss kitchen with a solid wood worktop. walnut I think! with an oven hob and extractor and dishwasher it came out at just under £6000 for a decent size kitchen. The delivery came pretty much the same time as the fitters and they worked very hard to get the job finished. Few niggling bits were that they left a mess when they finished and they ate all of our biscuits but other than that did a great job. Highly recommended.

First thing about this company ( Krypton kitchens ) is delivery on time. Good customer service with extra care. People who came to fit the kitchen section did really a good job. Fitting the kitchen section is the hard part for any house. Trusting a company is must and should .But krypton guys did a fabulous job.Delivery was on time and the prices was absolutely low. The prices they do is according the factory outlet prices.Well done Guys..

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Nice kitchen, poor services by fitter but all sorted eventually

In october we decided we wanted a whole new kitchen and a change around of appliances making our kitchen much bigger. We chose tesco for price, style and the fact that they come out and design it for you as our room is a funny shape this was the main selling point for us plus ' a stress free installation'.
The sales guy was great. He listend to what we wanted and even managed to get us a free dishwasher. The kitchen fitter arrived a few weeks later after we paid a deposit to do a pre fit survey. The qoute for the extra work was way too much. The price was made up of the kitchen fitters price and then tesco bit on top which we simply could not afford. The project manage team said it was ok to go with our own electrician and plumber which left the kitchen fitter with a much smaller job and less money coming to him. Then came the long list of problems..
from the 12th Novemeber the old kitchen was ripped out and was left in our garden. It was not moved for 10 weeks! Our garden resembled steptoes scarp yard.
parts not deliverd in time therfore we had half a kitchen for christmas and a plan change for christmas day dinner, the gas hob leeked and left, plugsockets left live and hanging off the wall
the fitter turned up when he wanted leaving us woundering what was happening. Glue spilled on the new work top and left, cupboards put up with out foward planning ie transormers for the lights put in place ready for electrician, general poor finish on some units.
However once a complaint when in we had non stop communication from MarkII and retail instalation who worked hard to fix everything and now we are really happy but it took a total of 15 weeks from start to finish
