I have had this camera for several month and my main consideration when choosing it was the price. I had problems with my previous camera (not a Samsung) and decided on this brand because I had used good-quality products from them previously.
Although this isn't the best camera on the market, it is also not the worst. The pictures it takes are good quality and with a memory card many can be saved so you do not have to limit how many you take. A variety of settings can be adjusted which means you can set it to suit your own preferences as well as the environment. The camera is also available in more than one colour, which means that choosing this model does not mean you are limited to a particular colour, as many others do. I have the purple version and love it, very glad I chose it.
The zoom function on this camera could be better, but for the price I have no complaints. Being able to use wifi to upload your pictures directly online from the camera is great, but there is a very limited number of sites available to connect to.
I have a Samsung memory card in this camera, which is what is recommended. I have had problems before when using a card of a different make to the product I have used it in, so deliberately chose one of this make. I have no problems using this, and all my photos have saved on the card with no problems.
For me nowadays, a digital camera needs to have a really special picture to justify me taking along a camera as well as my phone when I go on holiday. A lot of decent phones these days have at least 10 megapixel cameras so this digital camera having 16 megapixels of quality justifies its use as a good quality camera. The best thing is that this camera is not that expensive and its 10x zoom gives you the best picture you could ask for in a digital camera. The picture really is crystal clear and everything you'd expect from Samsung as they produce a camera which available in lots of cool colours as well. The only worry is the camera is quite light so a little tip - if you're out and about, buy case or hold it tight because I've dropped it a few times. Overall the best you can ask for from a camera , great picture, zoom and slick look !
I have always previously owned Sony Cameras. I could not believe the difference when I started to use this Samsung. It was incredible. The picture quality is so much better and it is notably quicker than the Sony camera. It has a wifi function so you share pictures via facebook and email. There are many different pictures settings to choose too.
Truthfully i love Samsung as they smoothly produce the best technology at the highest quality known. I use the camera for landscape picture which are then modified and sold off. This camera owns 16.1 mega pixels of pure power used to produce that best realistic pictures as if you're there from minute it was taken.
most cameras are supported with the 10 x optical zoom including this model although like the latest cameras out there are installed with WiFi compatibility that enable instant sharing benefits but if you're not so much interested in that social aspect than this is the camera for you. I only purchased this camera because it said what and how it performs and for the price of £60 i thought it was a banging deal. I always carry this with me only because it helps me with my simplistic styled projects.
Do the right thing and purchase a camera with less faults than those that are triple the price and more likely to fail and break.
I have had this camera for over a year now and have loved it over that time. I find the 3" screen perfectly sized, allowing me to see the images clearly, select options, etc.
Image quality of the camera is generally good, I have used some of the photos to print A4 calendars and they have come out perfectly. The 10x optical zoom is also great, can zoom into very far distances, although the image does sometimes become blurred unless you have very steady hands.
The smart features of the camera area also aptly suited to my needs. The WiFi capabilities means I can directly upload my photos to skydrive. Also having a phone and a tablet I no longer need to attach the camera to the computer to transfer files as the camera can create its own hotspot allowing files to go between all my devices wirelessly.
Also has a great selection of different scenes that will change the warmth, contrast and other features of an image.
The camera is also quite durable, having managed to drop it on its lens from over a meter, and it surviving with just a few scratches.
Overall a great, functional and affordable compact!
Well for a start my camera comes in a brilliant shade of purple, and if that isn't enough to turn anyone towards a digital camera then I don't know what is.
It's pretty small for a camera, a little on the chunky side if you're used to the tiny cameras of today. It feels sturdy in your hand. I've had digital cameras that feel fragile and like the cracks are going to fall apart, but this feels nice and firm in your hand.
The zoom is decent and only gets a little blurry and out of focus when zoomed very close in, which you'd never really need to do.
The images on the little screen don't always look as good in resolution as they do on the screen, but it doesn't really matter.
Face detection is as amusing as always.
For a very cheap camera it has really good white balancing.
Overall, it's a nice sturdy little camera with lots of good features.
I have owned quite a few cameras over the year and this one was a gift for myself when a previous one had issues with the screen. The camera has a 16.1 megapixels which is common for a lot of cameras these days. This camera comes in black or purple. I have this in black and it looks very smart and shiny black.
Camera has many features aswell as the 16.1 megapixel camera, these are the fact you can instantly share your photos if connected to wifi. It has a 10 x optical zoom which helps capture clear pictures that even might be quite far away and a 3" LCD screen to view them.
The camera box comes with USB charging cable, wrist strap, battery pack and a quick guide to get to grips with the camera and features. On the camera you can alter your pictures using the funny face programme which allows you to alter the image of yourself or friends pictures. There is also programme which allows you to mix and match your photos to create what you like or one image containing your favourite images. Camera comes with a pretty basic 18mb of internal memory but you can add memory cards to fit into it and up your memory.
Overall this has to be one of my favourite cameras, offers so much more than some similarly priced cameras, love the fact I can upload pictures via wifi and share them with other people, also the altering the images on the device is definitely a bonus. The battery life on the camera is also great don't often have the battery run out and I seem to always be using my camera.
A lot of compact cameras these days look and feel relatively similar in that they all have a screen and buttons on the back and are all roughly the same size, and this one is no exception. I have owned a fair few compact cameras in the last few years as I like taking photos with a proper camera sometimes instead of my phone. This camera, again, like many of the modern cameras and other related products is 'smart' and wi-if can be used on the device to share photos with other people and on social networking sites.
The FEEL of the camera:
The feel of this camera is I think what sets it apart from many other makes of compact cameras. It feels very well made and rugged, almost like those really tough JCB cameras, but its still made out of metal and plastic.
The screen is nearly edge to edge (apart from the edge where the buttons are positioned obviously). I think the screen is one of the most important features as it displays the picture you've just taken. This compact has a really immersive screen and is bright and colourful.
What are the PICTURES like?
To be honest, with most cameras these days, there's not a massive difference in picture quality between each one. However, I can report that the quality is as good as, if not better than my previous cameras. Some photos I have taken have come out blurred but that's to be expected with camera shake and other factors like that. The colour in the pictures is really good and again the screen helps to give you a feel for what the full size picture will look like as its very good quality.
Some STRONG POINTS:
The battery life of this camera is great and the multitude of features can turn this camera into a basic editing suite with frames etc. The control buttons on the camera again feel well made and are in keeping with the colour and style of the compact.
When I used the flash sometimes in a dark area, the photo would be unusually bright and not correctly exposed, but this happens with most cameras so its nothing much to be worried about. Another weakness is the time it takes the battery to recharge, although the battery life is very good (as mentioned above) the time it takes to recharge isn't.
This camera is perfect for if you want professional looking photos with the minimum of hassle. You don't have to be a techno-nut to figure out how to adjust the settings to your preference. I found that the auto setting were perfect and allowed me to take clear pictures in fantastic detail.
I also loved all the different special effects and shooting program's available because it gave me the freedom to play around with my pictures. The camera also has a wifi connection which allows me to share and upload pictures straight to the Internet, which is great or convenience because it saves you from having to upload pictures to your computer or laptop before you can upload them to the Internet. The only thing about the wifi is that it was quite slow because you can't upload more than one picture at a time.
This camera has so many features that I believe make it the perfect modern camera making it fantastic value for money and I would suggest it to my friends over any other camera I have ever had. I paid £120 for mine but I found out afterwards that they are available to a great deal less than that in some places so I would advise that you look around before forking out more than you have have to like I did.
This camera is compact at H9.96 x W5.83cm yet has a generous 3 inch LCD screen. In matte black it looks as if it means business. Originally retailing at around £120, it can now be found for as low as £80.
~ 10x digital zoom / 5x digital zoom
~ Continuous shooting
~ Red eye reduction
~ 1080i high definition video capture and playback with sound
~ Maximum ISO 3200.
~ Intelligent scene mode
~ Built-in flash
~ WiFi connection
The camera comes with a USB charger for the Li-Ion internal battery. I've also found that this is the same fitting as my BlackBerry/Kindle etc so is easy to charge on the go. There is a basic set up guide included and it's easy to connect to WiFi to share photos, although this can be somewhat slow, taking time to download photos individually.
There are many other features such as photo editors, scene modes and funny face modes. The continuous shooting mode I find particularly useful for capturing rascally toddlers who are difficult to photograph. This allows me to fire off lots of shots and capture that nanosecond when they look angelic!
Quality of images and movies is fantastic with crisp clear results with excellent detail. Colours are true and sharp and downloading images is simple and easy. Unfortunately it doesn't come with an SD card so this needs to be purchased separately to store your images.
All in all this is camera gives excellent results across the board. With a range of additional features including WiFi connectivity it's fantastic value for money and highly recommended.
I have tried a majority of camera brands in the past; sony, nikon, canon, fujifilm etc. This is buy far the best I have ever experienced, that may be because it is the most modern of my cameras but I really do feel it gives an extra kick over other cameras.
It has a lovely ergonomic design but this is matched inside by a huge bunch of features. Wifi, 16MP, HD video and 10X optical zoom are all features which I love and surprisingly come in handy often. The thing was I feel puts this camera above the rest is its auto settings. When set on auto, every picture comes out perfectly sharp and beautifully in focus. It handles dark scenes very well without the flash blinding out the photograph. The macro setting is no exception to this high focus camera, all pictures are stunning and perfectly clear.
If always having an auto setting isn't your thing, then this camera has some flexibility. You can choose your own scene setting or if this isn't independant enough, there are a few adjustments you can make but this is only limited to basic photo settings.
The interface is easy to use and the 3" LCD shows this off very well. I love that the wifi makes sharing pictures so simple. I would have given this camera 5*in every area but unlike a DSLR the shutter rate isn't swift. It can sometimes feel like it lags but not enough to impair the photo taking experience.
