I wanted a camera that looked and felt like a DSLR camera and that's what I have with the Fujifilm Finepix HS20EXR. This "bridge" camera has a really good zoom range and the 16 megapixel sensor resolution gives for some real keen pictures. With a tough design and firm grip the Fujifilm does feel like it should stand up to a little abuse. The camera does seem quite bulky and weighs 730g. Personally I don't mind this but for anyone who wants to use this as more convenient point and shoot cam it may not be ideal. Also there are a lot of dials and settings to play with which again is ideal for me as I am a bit of a geek but for those who just want a basic camera all the functions may not be needed. The screen is very good and it tilts both 45 degrees down for higher shots and 90 degrees upward which I find very useful. For a camera without a removable lense it is important to have a good functionality built in and I think this camera has exactly that the wide angle mode does seem very wide compared to previous cameras I have owned and the zoom is great. One down turn is that there is no rechargeable power pack provided. The camera runs on AA battery so at least they are easily replaced but I do find the battery life could do with being a little better. The Fujifilm Finepix HS20EXR I feel is a viable alternative to a DSLR. It has a lot of great features and comes with an amazing lens. A couple of minor issues aside, this is a great camera for enthusiasts.
