A brilliant entry-level camera for the casual user or budding photographer. This camera has all the setting you need to produce good quality photographs for the family photo album or for the amateur's portfolio!
The start-up time is satisfactory and the ease of use and the speed of switching between modes is greatly appreciated - no faffing around with the lens cover in order to switch between modes.
With plenty of flash modes, macro mode and the ability to choose between automatic and manual (the latter includes EV and white balance settings), never before has the user is presented with so many options without being confused with all the jargon and intimidating, unfathomable icons - the interface really is self explanatory.
The self-timer could do with being programmable, although it gives just enough time to get into a good pose, while not taking so long that the user becomes bored waiting.
Movie mode is without sound and results are quite poor. Only twenty seconds can be recorded at a time on the higher resolution.
Battery time is good - you can fill a 64MB card in a day and the batteries don't run out.
Transferring from camera to PC is also simple - with no special interface needed, the files can be copied and pasted in Windows Explorer (My Computer).
This camera is worth every penny spent.
