A must have if you are looking to pack on the LBS!

Body Fortress Muscle and Weight Gainer is an excellent supplement for enhancing your work out results. This milkshake powder is available in either chocolate, strawberry or vanilla flavours (of which I have tried all 3). I usually pick up mine from Holland and Barrett where they are priced at £7.99 per 681g can. Holland and Barrett often include them in their 'by one get one half price' promotion which makes them a bit more affordable.

I have always been thin. Not in a toned, athletic way but more in a wirey and weedy way which has been a source of huge annoyance to me. Despite hitting the gym fairly hard, I never seemed to get any bigger, it is so frustrating!

I started using Body Fortress Muscle and Weight Gainer during my first year of university and have found it to be a really helpful product. During that time I was trying to stick to a diet of 3500 calories a day (sounds easier than it is) and these shakes provided the easy, nutritious calories and protein that I needed. When mixed with semi-skimmed milk each shake provides 320 kcal, 25g of protein and only 1.4g of fat. If you are feeling a bit reckless, you can top up the calorie (and fat) count by adding ice cream, honey, nuts and tinned fruit (if you are using a blender). I was on 2 of these shakes a day, which was expensive but worth it.

The taste of the shakes is actually quite nice, particularly the chocolate variety. It does take a bit of whisking to make sure it mixes evenly with the milk; just think of it as a mini workout for your biceps, lol! As I said, I was adding a whole lot of extra stuff to mine so the extra ingredients tended to overpower the flavour of the powder itself.

During that first year at uni I put on about a stone of muscle and managed to keep it on. In my opinion this was due at least in part to Body Fortress Muscle and Weight Gainer, which helped to keep me topped up with fuel for those sessions at the gym.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a bit of help bulking up at the gym. It is pleasant tasting and really affective. The box suggests that 1-2 shakes a day coupled with a decent work out schedule should yield results of 1kg of weight gain per week. I find this statement a bit on the ambitious side but then I have always found it difficult to put on weight.

      I wholeheartedly recommend this product!

Nice product for a start off gym user

Body Fortress Super Muscle & Weight Gainer is mainly used as a food supplement or for a muscle builder training programme. I am reviewing the 980g tub of the chocolate flavour but they also do it in a variety of flavours including strawberry, vanilla and banana. I bought this product from Holland & Barrett at the cost of £9.98 which was half price at the time making it usually £19.99 a tub.

I have started to use this product as I am so sick of being as skinny as I am and thought I would give this product a try. For the weight gain plan the idea is to have one or two milkshakes per day and you should gain about 1 kilogram per week. For the muscle training programme you should be taking two shakes daily to get the full use out of the milkshakes. You should be blending about 3 level scopes with 2 cups of whole milk. I find it best when using a blender but you can just mix it with a spoon in a shake glass or cup. On the back there is a vast explanation of the essential, minerals and amino acids which are included in the shake and gives directions of use which is very helpful if you have not used any milkshake product before. It also has a great run down on the side of the packet regarding nutrition information.

The one thing that struck me when opening up my first tub was the smell of the product which is very strong with the chocolate flavour. A nice smell but a very overwhelming smell. When looking inside I found there was a measuring spoon so that you can get the right amount of powder into each milkshake which is recommended at 90g per milkshake. I find that after 30 seconds in a blender the milkshake is more than ready to consume. I was very pleasantly surprised when I first tipped the milkshake into my cup and found it was nice and thick just the way I like my normal milkshakes and that the flavour was really nice and has just the right amount of chocolate flavour and not an overwhelming taste during or after I had had the milkshake.

I suppose while you are reading this you are wondering if I have seen any results. Well I have seen a weight gain so far of 3 kilograms in a 4 week space and I must admit to having missed a milkshake or 2 along the way. So overall I feel this product does exactly what it says on the tin. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to gain weight or is seriously looking for their first product to use as a muscle training programme start off. Try a round for the cheaper price and see what you think. I would like to know other people's reviews if they try the product.
