A nice town, unless you HATE traffic

Camberley is a town situated in Surrey, and can be accessed from the A331 and the M3, junction 4. It is neighboured by towns including: Blackwater, Bracknell, Crowthorne, Deepcut, Sandhurst and Yateley. The town has a population of 30,155 people. Camberley was once called Cambridgetown, but it was changed to Camberley to avoid confusion with Cambridge.

Camberley has a pretty decent town centre, and the main shopping centre is called The Mall. It is quite a large centre and has many shops inside including, Games, New Look, Primark, La Senza, Birthdays, Sainsburys, River Island, JD Sports, Boots, Superdrug, Topshop and House Of Fraser. There is also a couple of cafes in the centre. There are many other shops etc outside of the centre too, including Mothercare, BHS and Toy Stores. You can also find McDonalds, Burger King and Jennys Cafe outside the Centre. The centre has its own multi storey car park, which has plenty of spaces and is pay on foot, with entry and exit by ticket machine barriers. The centre is regularly patrolled by security staff, and is covered fully by CCTV, so you can shop with peace of mind. There is also cleaners walking around, so you know the centre is always being cleaned and tidied, and I am yet to see any litter on the floor or any other problems of this kind in the centre.

There is a few banks just outside the shopping centre, Santander and Barclays are there, along with a couple of others, and there is a post office just outside the shopping centre too. There is limited parking on the high street at the back of the centre, but getting a space here is pretty rare, and it can be a bit pressure filled to park here too, as it is a one way street and people seem to have no patience when driving in Camberley, I can't say I blame them lol. There is a couple of nail bars and hairdressers in Camberley too, so you can have a nice bit of pampering should you wish to.

Also in Camberley, is a new entertainment complex, which comprimises of shopping, cinema and many places to eat. Inside the Atrium is a Vue Cinema, Frankie and Bennys, Chiquitos, Bowlplex, The Real China, Sports Direct, Lidl and Zizzis. There is a few other places here too, and there complex has its own car park built on to it. This car park is a little tight to get around, and one of the floors is only for use of residents, as there is actually some luxury apartments built in the front of the complex. The rates of this car park are pretty reasonable, and in the evenings after 7pm it will only cost you £1.50 for the whole evening.

Also quite new in Camberley is the huge KFC with an all night drive thru, which is built underneath a medium sized Travel Lodge. This is near to the Agincourt night club, and next to a new car dealership. The McDonalds on this road is also a 24 hour drive thru, so you can pretty much always get something to eat in Camberley, but it won't be the healthiest!

Camberley is also home to The Agincourt. The Agincourt is a rock club, which is open Fridays and Saturdays and is the longest running rock club in the UK. This is on the A30, main road of Camberley. For some reason, Camberley has decided it needs extras of many things, including Subway and McDonalds, both of which the town has two of! There is also two chinese all you can restaurants. Night life in Camberley is quite good, as well as the Agincourt, there is a selection of pubs including RSVP and a Wetherspoons, and a nightclub called Tru which plays R n B music.

Camberley has its own train station, which is just behind the town centre, so acess to the town from the station is easy and takes no time at all. There is also great bus services in Camberley, the number 1 runs every ten minutes during daytime hours and can take you a massive number of places. In camberley you can also find Tattoo studios, A small Theatre, Army Bases, Cadets and a library. Just outside Camberley, in Sandhurts is a MASSIVE Tesco extra and a huge Marks and Spencers. This is known as the Meadows, and there is a free bus service there from town. There is also a very large Sainsburys just outside the town in Watchmoor Park.

The houses in Camberley range from tiny, to huge depending on which part you are looking at, but the living seems quite nice here. You can have a choice of busy areas or really quiet areas, depending on what you like. No matter what time of day or night, or what day of the week, there always seems to be loads of traffic in Camberley, and this is something I have got used to everytime I come over. If you can avoid coming through on Peak Time, I recommend to do so, it could take you ages to get through!

Christmas in Camberley is quite nice, as they do some great decorations and have some fun activites and a Santa Claus for the kids to see. The shopping centre usually puts on some sort of activites for each holiday, mainly for the kids to enjoy.

All in All Camberley is a nice looking town with a great shopping area and some great points to it. It does look a bit dirty in places, and the traffic can be a total nightmare, so I am only giving Camberley a 4 out of 5, but apart from these two small problems, it is quite a nice place, and if you can get there for shopping, I am sure you will have a good time.
