A wonderful treat...that sadly the missus likes

I'm one of those weird people who loves to at ice cream at any point in the year. Despite the cold weather I've been making the most of Sainsbury's recent offers selling off various Ben and Jerry's and Haagen-Dazs ice creams at a knock down price.

Generally I've been lucky in my choices and picked flavours that it turns out my partner doesn't like meaning I've managed to have full tubs to my self but my ran out recently when I purchased a tub of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake for £2.22 (yes I know, bargain!) and found out that the other half liked it just as much as me.

Haagen-Dazs is seen as one of the premier ice cream brands and the inflated prices, that match Ben and Jerry's, and although I hate saying this it's with good reason. The ice cream has used top of the range ingredients since the company was formed way back in the 1960's. The costly ingredients have see the product having not only a premium price but also a premium quality which sees the flavours really standout whilst the texture is smooth and the ice cream seems to melt gently in your mouth.

In the case of this particular flavour the ice cream has in bits of actual cheesecake in it (sadly my girlfriend has been picking out the cake bits because she's a pain in the backside) with a strawberry flavoured swirl through out the ice cream. The combination of strawberry, cheesecake and ice cream shouldn't work I admit but yet it's an amazing combination that sees the ice cream melting in your mouth around the biscuit whilst your tongue is pleasured by the strawberry flavour.

Although the pot is small at just 500ml it's an enjoyable amount that can either be eaten with a movie or a sports event or spread over a few nights (at least if your eating it solo...) though it should only be treat as a treat (unless you can often get it at £2.22).

With an RRP of around £4.45 it's a product that I'd love to buy at full price though sadly can't excuse myself for spending so much on ice cream. At £2.22 however the product is an ideal weekly treat instead of a bottle of premium beer or a magazine.

Yeah it's not the healthiest snack out there but in terms of flavour and quality there really is very little out there that matches this creamy delight...now I just need to find a place in my freezer to hide it!

      Delicious especially with strawberries.

This ice cream is delicious with strawberries, it complements them perfectly.

The main ice cream is wonderfully creamy cheesecake flavoured (very much like a luxurious vanilla but faintly cheesecakey) and it has swirls of strawberry sauce (not loads of it so if it's the strawberry you're after this isn't the ice cream for you). It also has big yummy pieces of biscuit (like a cheesecake base), this is my favourite part of the ice cream and all the ingredients together give it a lovely pleasing texture

Clearly it's hardly health food - high in sugar, calories and fat but then that's no surprise - this is yummy ice cream not carrots!

I always think Haagen Daz is overpriced and rarely buy it but this tub was free (long story) and I can see why people do buy it. At the time of writing the cheapest 500ml tub available from one of the big 5 supermarkets is £4.25.

The best advice I can give is not to eat from a 500ml tub, put some in a bowl or you'll eat it all and have to diet for the next 6 months!

      Ice Cream Heaven

I first came across Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Ice Cream when one of my friends bought it round when we were having a DVD night and to be honest, nearly every time I settle down for the evening to watch a DVD, this ice cream comes out.

      About Haagen-Dazs
Haagen-Dazs is unsurprisingly an American Brand and wasn't actually available to buy in the UK until 1987. Haagen-Dazs actually only started out with three flavours: vanilla, chocolate and coffee. With these flavours being so popular the brand quickly developed, with them producing a wider variety of flavours for the consumer to choose between.

      Packaging
This ice cream comes in a standard ice cream thick cardboard container which holds 500ml. The lid is also made of cardboard and pop off fairly easily (although can sometimes be difficult if you try to open it straight from the freezer as the lid tends to freeze to the tub!). The tub itself is red and gold in colour which is Haagen-Dazs colours. The lid is black and so is the band that runs around the middle of the tub. The Haagen-Dazs logo is written on the front of the tub, and the flavour is written on the black band. There is also a picture of a few strawberries on the front.

      Price
I tend to buy this ice cream at Tesco where it costs £3.78 for a 500ml tub so compared to other ice creams, it's a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Occasionally I will buy this ice cream at my local Blockbuster when I am renting a movie and here a 500ml tub costs £5.

      Taste
Upon opening the tub, you can see the strawberry and cheesecake pieces mixed in with the ice cream. The ice cream itself is vanilla and is a pale sort of beige colour. The ice cream is very creamy I should imagine that just the ice cream alone without the piece would be very yummy.
The strawberry pieces are also very tasty and actually taste like real strawberries as appose to strawberry flavouring like a lot of other ice creams use. The strawberry pieces are squashed so actually look more like jam once you find it within the ice cream and quite often you can find some large chunks of strawberry and when eaten with this ice cream, it is just delicious.
The final ingredient in this ice cream is the biscuit bits which are meant to resemble the base of a cheesecake. There are by far my favourite bits. According to Haagen-Dazs these biscuit pieces are 'pecan nut cookie pieces' but I don't think they really taste like Pecan. To me, they taste very similar to Shortbread. I half expected the biscuit piece to be soggy, after all, they have been sitting in the ice cream but I was very pleased to find that the biscuit pieces are very crunchy and very tasty.
Overall, I think all the ingredients work really well together, the creamy ice cream contrasts really well with the strawberries as they are slightly tangy and the crunchy biscuits make a very nice change for ice cream as it gives it texture as appose to just eating the ice cream, you actually have little pieces that you can chew on.

      Range
I did a bit of research to try and find out how many varieties of ice cream Haagen-Dazs produce but unfortunately, I was unable to find any figures. I can tell you that they certainly produce a wide range of ice creams. The thing I like about Haagen-Dazs (as well as Ben and Jerry's) is that they experiment with their ice cream and rather then producing just bog standard flavours such as chocolate strawberry and vanilla, they mix ingredients into the ice cream that you would expect. A few example of their ice cream range include flavours such as Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, White Chocolate Raspberry and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
As well as producing ice cream, Haagen-Dazs also do a large range of sorbet, light ice cream, ice cream bars, reserves and frozen yoghurt.

      Summary
I would 100% recommend this ice cream. If you have never tried Haagen-Dazs then you have no idea what you are missing. The ice cream, even the normal flavours such as strawberry and chocolate are so creamy that they really stand apart from other brands of chocolate.
The ingredients that Haagen-Dazs mix in with the ice cream really provide that little something extra.
There are only really two downsides to this ice cream - one being the price and the other being that a 100ml of ice cream (a fifth of the tub!) will give you 226 calories and 16 grams of fat so this is extremely fattening.

        THE best Haagen Dazs ever!

        Taste
        *******
This my absolute favourite ice cream combination of all time and the only flavour that had me salivating like a mad dog upturning all the inferior varieties in Morrison's freezer compartment last night!
The ice cream itself is of that heavenly white consistency that assails the taste buds in the most glorious way possible. When this is augmented with a swirl of delectable strawberry sauce and a crunch of shortcake then the opposing flavours and brands may as well throw in the white towel . Of course not everyone welcomes the interruption of biscuity type lumps in their ice cream, my wife included, but for me this combination is absolutely peerless. The strawberry swirl makes up 14% with 8% cookies.

The tub is adequately labelled in a variety of languages and contains ingredients, nutrition, and allergen and contact information. The allergens are helpfully detailed in bold type. The back label carries the Green Dot symbol which signifies the manufacturer's commitment to recyclable packaging.

Once thawed do not refreeze. Keep frozen under -18 °c. The ice cream is usually quite hardened when you take it out of the freezer so may take a few minutes to thaw a little. You may find the tub quite sickly if you try to eat the whole tub so it may be best to try and decant the required potion into a dish so the rest can be replaced without thawing, as per instruction.

This is quite expensive at £3.99 for a 550ml tub. However, I bought mine at Morrison's for just £1.99 9while stocks last). As mentioned earlier I had to dig deep to get the last Strawberry Cheesecake. Mind you there were plenty of 'Cookies and Cream', 'Bailey's' and 'Dulce Con Leche' flavours left.....need I say more?

          Oh so yummy

Haagen Dazs is one of the most popular premium ice cream brand along with Ben and Jerrys. This the Strawberry Cheesecake version is my joint favourite ice cream along with Chocolate Fudge Brownie by their rival and I have tried quite a few of the Haagen Dazs range.

You can buy Haagen Dazs in many places. The supermarkets will always be the cheapest but you can also get it at the cinema, with your takeaway pizze, at Blockbuster and so on.

They come in two sizes, the mini tub which you may see in a fridge at your local Vue cinema and the standard 500ml pot which can be found in supermarket freezers.

Prices tend to be around the £4 mark for a 500ml pot but currently Sainsbury's is selling them at half price so now's a good time to buy. Each pot has a protective wrap for hygiene purposes under the lid. The pot looks much the same as the picture but for the picture on the front is now a slice of cheesecake and there is a Wimbledon promotion being advertised on the side.

This ice cream has everything you would find in a strawberry cheesecake. The ice cream is as you would expect from Haagen Dazs very thick and creamy which means it takes about ten of fifteen minutes to thaw so you have to leave it for a while or end up with bent spoons like me. However, they really seem to have got the creamy cheese cake incuredibly accurate and I feel I would enjoy the pot even if the shortcake and strawberry weren't there.

The strawberry runs in swirls all through the ice cream and they aren't stingy with them at all. They aren't sharp and artificial like some strawberry desserts nor do they taste like fresh strawberries. They do taste like what you'd find on a cheesecake.

The shortcake is of no particlar note. It makes a nice change of texture and is lovely and crumbly but it is just standard shortcake base, though lovely.

I find this incredibly moreish, really nice on a warm summer evening like today and it's so hard to restrain yourself with this, it really is delicious.

          Highly recommended!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Great as a treat or when you just need to drown your sorrows in ice cream

Haagen Dazs know how to make seriously good ice-cream.
The strawberry cheesecake comes in different sizes, but I'm reviewing the large 500ml tub.
The tub is plastic with a lift off lid. It has a picture of a slice of strawberry cheesecake on the front and the ingredients and nutritional information on the back - including (in very small writing) the calorie content. Brace yourselves, you wouldn't want to eat a whole tub in one go as it would be a whopping 1170 calories and 67g of fat!
However, as it tastes so delicious, if you just plan to eat a regular serving then it's worth the indulgence in my opinion.
When you lift off the lid, the tub has a cellophane seal on it that has to be torn off.
The base ice cream is vanilla and very thick, sweet and creamy. Scattered generously throughout the ice-cream are large chunks of cheesecake biscuit and thick swirls of strawberry ripple.
It is very very sweet so I find that about a quarter of a tub is about the right size for a serving.
I've served this ice cream at dinner parties. If you put it in a posh dish with some slices of fresh strawberries it looks and tastes great.
At £3.99 for a 500ml tub it is quite expensive, but it's regularly on offer in all the major supermarkets - sometimes priced as low as £1.99 at which price it's a deliciously decadent bargain

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream - Perfect!

The first good spell of sunny weather meant only one thing in our household: Ice Cream. Never ones to miss an opportunity Tesco have cleared a whole end-aisle freezer compartment and stuffed it full of choice picks and amongst them, on half-price offer are Haagen Daz.

For your money you can pick up a 500ml of Haagen Daz's Strawberry Cheesecake Ice cream for just £1.99 and this is what I will be reviewing here, other flavours are available in the ongoing (until 03/05/2010) offer include Baileys and Cookie Dough but as Strawberry is my favourite flavour this is what we picked up.

My tub is similar to the one pictured and I'm sure the majority of readers will be familiar with the colour and design of the packaging so no real need to describe, the one thing to point out though is that although dooyoo have listed the product as 'Strawberry Cheesecake' the actual picture above is for 'Strawberry Shortcake' I don't know if these are separately available products or if the product is the same but with a different name but do be aware that the tub does say "Strawberry Cheesecake"

That out of the way I can get down to the good part now; the taste. Removing the plastic top and peeling off the protective film the first thing I noticed was that the ice cream came all the way to the top of the tub. How annoying is it sometimes when you buy a product to find wasted space in packaging? Crisp manufacturers are particularly bad for this with half the bag being filled with air whilst a meagre amount of product sits uninspiringly at the bottom of the bag. Rest assured with Haagen Daz you get a completely full tub of ice cream and the handy tub is ready to be dug into with a spoon, or if you are more refined you can dispense some into a separate bowl. Being far from refined I grabbed my spoon and got stuck in.

The texture of the ice cream is smooth and creamy and my spoon slid through the ice cream with the minimal amount of effort, dotted around the white ice cream are chunks of cheesecake biscuit base and a swirl of red, strawberry sauce. The taste is sublime! the strawberry sauce is sweet and on the sticky side which blends perfectly with the ice cream itself and the biscuity texture of the cheesecake base gives a contrast to the smoothness of the cream and strawberry. Together the three main components work incredibly well and the only bad thing about this is the fact that once I start eating it I find it very hard to stop!. I'm not sure why it is called 'cheesecake' though as the only flavours I can detect personally are the strawberry and the biscuit base, the cheesecake itself isn't really evident but that it by no means a criticism - it is most certainly moreish and incredibly tempting though and this is by far my own personal favourite flavoured ice cream and makes for a decadent treat every now and then especially when the sun is shining outside.

I will assume that readers will know that ice cream isn't health food so the calorie and fat content shouldn't come to that much of a surprise when you discover that 100ml of Haagen Daz's Strawberry Cheesecake Ice cream will provide 234 calories and 13.4 grams of fat. Certainly not something to overindulge in if you are conscious about your calorie intake but when the mood takes you and only ice cream hits the spot you may as well eat a premium brand who's flavours are as close to authentic as you can get and who's taste is really second-to-none.

An ideal summertime/hot weather treat; Ice cream is a firm favourite in our household and whilst Tesco are running their half price offer it will be a purchase that we make on a regular basis so that we have a (un)healthy supply in our freezer. Highly recommended by me, Strawberry Cheesecake flavoured Haagen-Daz ice cream gets a perfect 5/5 dooyoo star rating.

            Thanks for reading my review.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

if you love strawberry cheesecake and ice cream, you will love it

Strawberry cheesecake is my favourite type of cheesecake; and cheesecake is one of my favourite desserts. I also love ice creams so when I have seen Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream on offer in my local supermarket, I didn't hesitate and I bought it.

It comes in a 500ml cardboard tub (the same sort of tub Ben & Jerry's come, just the design is different). It has a red colour with a bit of gold and a tempting picture of strawberries and cheesecake.

When you open it, you will find a white ice cream that has bits and bobs of cheesecake in it. It does have quite a lot of strawberry jam and digestive biscuits that blend perfectly well with the ice cream, giving a not very strong, but still distinctive, strawberry cheesecake flavour. The ice cream is sweet, but not sickly sweet; it is also rich, extremely creamy and smooth. I was worried that it would have too much strawberry jam (what happens with some cheesecakes...) but it has just the right amount (I am wondering how they do that). It has just become one of my favourite ice creams (I hadn't tried it before) so if you like strawberry cheesecake and good ice cream, this is something for you.

Unfortunately, this yummy and lovely ice cream comes at a price. One big (500ml) tub costs around £4 whereas a small one (135 ml) costs something like £1.4. I am usually searching for offers (last time I got them half price).

100 ml serving (a fifth of a big tub) will provide you with 236 calories and 13.6g of fat (including 8.4g of saturated fat). Enjoy!

                Treat yourself!

This is ice cream heaven! Seriously. Its amazing.

Haagen Datz is an American brand that originated in New York (apparently the name was created to just make Americans think that it was Scandinavian). They make ice cream that is sold in round cup shaped tubs. They are renowned for their amazing flavours and delicious texture.

The strawberry cheesecake flavour is my favourite, it is outstanding. The
ice cream is vanilla (ish) and is lovely and creamy, and if you leave it to
melt for a few minutes it is lovely and soft and so easy to scoop onto the
spoon. It has strawberry sauce and flavouring running through the ice
cream, and it also has chunks of biscuit pieces sprinkled in like the
                cheesecake base. Yum!

I tastes so good that you just know it cant be good for you - and sadly, it
isn't. Each tub contains about 600 calories and a whopping 30g of fat!
Luckily, this is expensive and costs about £3.99 per tub in most
supermarkets (although occasionally you can drop on a two for £5 deal) -
which means this rarely makes it into my weekly shop and it is only an
                occasional treat!

Go hunt this out in the freezer section on the next visit to the supermarket!

                Creamy strawberry cheesecake.

My family love haagen dazs and I usually have stock on freezer but doesn't last very long. It's not pretty the right time to review an ice cream but it's the only one I can think of reviewing since my little one did'nt leave me alone until he had his treat so we popped up to tesco because my little one really fancy eating his favourite icecream which is the strawberry cheesecake from haagen dazs. As we arrived I saw different ice cream on offer so I tried to convince him to get the carte d'or because it's half price but it actually did'nt work. He knew exactly where to get it and It really brighten up his day.

                HAAGEN DAZS
A brand of ice cream which was established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York, in 1961. Starting with only three flavours vanilla, chocolate, coffee and now has different kind of flavour, ranging from Bailey's Irish Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Pistachio and Strawberry Cheesecake. Every now and then they also offer special limited edition, which is quite hard to find.

                PRICE
                £1.35 /small pot
                £3.86 /500ml tub

I don't want to spoil you while indulging yourself with this lovely treat but here's a brief info about calories 239cal/100ml and fat levels 14.4g/100ml. If you can resist the temptation, try not to finish the large tub in one go. Well, It's just a reminder.

                DESCRIPTIONI
The tub is exactly the same as the photo and it's easy to open. The ice cream is in pale creamy colour of vanilla blended into a small amount of cream cheese that creates a delicate but distinctive flavour of cheesecake. It has a smooth, creamy texture. It was perfectly enjoyable because it evoked the flavour of strawberry cheesecake, but had far less strawberry and not overly sweet. It taste like cheesecake with chunks of soft, sweet biscuity cheesecake scattered. This is definitely one of the richer ice creams I've tried.

                CONCLUSION
If you love cheesecake, and this is for you! I would highly recommend Häagen-Dazs strawberry cheesecake because of it's great quality, availability and lovely flavour. There are a dozen of choices that would cost less but it's cheap soft-scoop strawberry ice cream that tastes nothing close to this flavour. For me, It's actually one of the best ice cream even if it's quite expensive. Well, having them once in a while would'nt hurt your pocket that much because I think it's all worth it. Really amazing cheesecake ice cream and probably one of the richest taste experiences you could ever have.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A luxury ice cream, that is thick and smooth, with great flavour

Haagen Dazs is a 'super premium' ice cream, hailing from the United States. By super premium, I mean that it is highly dense, with barely any air mixed in during its creation, resulting in purer ice cream. There are also no emulsifiers or stabilisers in the product - the makers opt to use egg yolks and butter fat instead. The result of all this is a really, really thick ice cream, that takes forever to melt, and takes a real effort to get your spoon into it!

This is not a bad thing though, as when you do manage to get through it in its fully frozen state, you are rewarded with one of the richest taste experiences in ice cream that you are likely to find. The flavours are intense, and the ice cream is smooth and perfectly creamy. Unlike ice creams such as Walls, which is lighter and much more.... fluffy, Haagen Dazs is like velvet in your mouth. This thickness and density mean that even though the tubs are fairly small compared to the competition, it will take you forever to get through them!

Fortunately, this ends up being one of the brands saving graces, due to the high cost of the ice cream. I know there are usually offers on in the supermarket, but Haagen Dazs can be extremely expensive, with the large size tub costing well upward of £4. I've never bought the small tubs in the cinema, but I shudder to think how expensive they are.

The taste combinations of the vast directory of flavours make it all worthwhile though. You can get pretty much any kind of flavour, ranging from Bailey's Irish Cream, to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, to Pistachio and Strawberry Cheesecake. Every now and then you get special limited edition varieties such as Sticky Toffee Pudding, but these can be quite hard to find.

The Strawberry Cheesecake variety tastes just like cheesecake. You even get chunks of soft, sweet biscuity cheesecake base scattered throughout the ice cream, which I tend to aim for! Then throughout the vanilla ice cream, which has a hint of the cheesecake flavour, you get vast swirls of strawberry sauce, which is so sweet and flavoursome it is amazing. The cheesecake variety is without a doubt my favourite - it is one of the tastiest ice creams you will ever have!

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

Great ice cream but not affordable all the times

I had always heard so much about then famous brand of Haagen Dazs and was curious to know what was so great about their ice creams. While I was going for all the local brands and found the ice creams wuite good, I was intrigued and wanted to try this just once.

Well, on browsing their varieties I found the strawberry cheese cake the best, more so because I am a big fan of strawberry flavours especially if they are using fresh strawberrys or the extract.

The ice cream was allright and my tub contained 100 ml of it. It cam ein for around 1.5 punds which I found rather expensive. It was an attractive carton tub with pictures of fresh strawberries and cheese cake on it. I simply love cheese cake so I counldn't have chosen anything different for a flavour. The tub opens easily by pulling out the lid. You may have as much as you want and save the rest for later. Trust me, it's quite a bit of calories when you get to counting !!!

The texture is great, it's creamy and think with a rich taste of cheese cake, strawberry sauce and cookies. You can see the strawberry swirls and the cookie bits right in there. It's no doubt very tempting.

I would say that if you can get any other brand for the same flavour and cheaper, you should go in for that because Haagen Dazs is really cashing in on their name and the price for the ice cream is just not justified.

                    Thanks for reading !

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

                    A great tasting ice cream

Haägen-Dazs ice cream is one of my favourites (together with Ben & Jerry's) and I love trying out all the different flavours. One of the best is the Haägen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake. Ben & Jerry's also do a strawberry cheesecake flavour, but Haägen-Dazs is much better (probably because I find the Ben & Jerry's version too spicy).

Haägen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake has a nice creamy texture with a subtle strawberry flavour. Adding to this delicious flavour are bits of cookie pieces and strawberry sauce. Yummy! I have always loved all things strawberry and this is one of the best.

This is quite a solid ice cream so I always leave the tub on the kitchen counter for a few minutes before scooping some into a bowl.

The packaging of Haägen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake is the standard classic tub made of cardboard and a plastic lid. The tub is mainly dark red in colour with gold detailing and a picture of a slice of strawberry cheesecake.

As far as nutritional value goes: per 100ml you get 239 calories with a fat content of 14.4g (saturates are not specified). Haägen-Dazs is quite expensive at £3,86 per 500ml tub.

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

                      A delicious first-class ice cream

Haagan Daz Strawberry Cheesecake is a first class ice cream, which should only be had on special events. It's quite a premium ice cream, similar to Ben & Jerrys but more posh. You can either get a 100ml tub for around £1.30 or a large 500ml tub for around £3.88. It's not the cheapest ice cream but it is definitely the best tasting by far!

The tubs are red and gold with the bottom half being red. There is an image of strawberry cheesecake in the middle of the tub along with an image of a strawberry. The flavour is on the bottom half and a fancy gold design on a slant surrounds the Haagan Daz logo. The plastic lid is gold too and easily comes off to reveal a covering for the ice cream.

In the small 100ml tubs, you get a spoon in there, which can be used. The ice cream has an off-white appearance with red bits of strawberry in it. The strawberry bits are actually authentic and taste really sweet, which goes very well with the creamy delicious ice cream. The ice cream is of great quality and a perfect texture after being in a freezer at around -18°C.

The ice cream is really smooth and creamy and contains bits in it. The first bits are strawberry, which taste like sweet fresh strawberry and contrast very nicely with the ice cream. The other bits are bits of shortbread, which tastes delicious too. The ice cream isn't great if you have sensitive teeth like me (to cold things) so you have to eat it with care but the taste is out of this world! It's a luxurious ice cream that I'd highly recommend.

                      Thanks for reading,

                        Disadvantages

                        I like!

Today me and Monkey Peter try some Haagan Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. We eat it & we do some other adult type activities with it and we enjoy it very much.

It is very cheap this ice-cream if one of you distracts the shop owner whilst the other smuggles it out in their trousers. Usually I am the one to get the cold gonads whilst Monkey Peter amuse the shop man with tales of the circus and by showing off his scars.

The taste of this ice-cream is very much like strawberry that has been in a mans pants but that may be down to the method of transport.

We like the ice cream so much that Monkey Peter wrote a poem about it and I wrote a rhyme.

Rather than share the story of our ice-cream based sexual gratification which also involved Vinegar Jenny, 4 hostages, an avocado and a recording of Harry Seacombe singing Abide With Me (played at 45 rpm instead of the recommended 33) I will share the poems that the ice cream inspired as we don't want to offend any munchkin types.

                        Here is Monkey Peters poem:

                        I lick the ice cream
Sometime the ice cream licks back
                        It puddles on the floor
                        It trickles down my back
                        With berry and cheese
                        It tickles me with ease
                        But sometimes leaves me sticky
So I go out and punch someone.

                        Here is mine rhyme:

                        Life is very silly
It May just be a dream
If it is I want to wake up
And have some nice Ice Cream

                        Life is quite upsetting
                        It sometimes makes me cry
When I'm at a low ebb
Then ice cream I will buy

                        Life can be depressing
                        Sometimes not very nice
                        But to make me laugh
I'll have some nice creamed ice

                        When I'm ready to die
I'll hang myself from a beam
                        But before I do
I'll have some nice ice buns

Do you see what I did there? You thought I was gonna finish with ice cream again but as nice as ice cream is it not as good as ice bun.

Haagan Dazs Strawberry Shortcake Ice-Cream is available to buy from all major stockists though you are advised to avoid those shops frequented by Abaci as you don't know where the ice-cream has been.

Haagan Dazs ice cream comes in many flavours,(yes, more than 3) and whilst it is not the cheapest ice cream to buy it is one of the nicest.

Haagan Dazs ice cream also contains calories but if you think I'm going to count them you are crazy man.
