      Fabulous roasters!

I own lots and lots of Pyrex items, I mean I was brought up with my Mum using them and then when I moved out into the big wide world myself I went out with little money and bought inferior items because they were all that I could afford at the time but then when I got the money I replaced them and it had to be with Pyrex because they work out value for money in the long run as they last years and years!

I bought these way back now from Argos and this set of 3 roasting dishes cost me £19.99 which I thought was a great price but do Google for these if interested and price check them.

This set comes in 3 sizes of thick see-through glass (Borosilicate glass which is shock resistant) and the measurements for these are as follows:

      Large dish - size L39, W25.

      Medium dish - size L35, W23.

      Small dish - size L26, W17.

Each one is suitable for use in the oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and are all suitable for use in the dishwasher too. Each one no matter the size is rectangular in shape and each one has handles, one to each side and has raised bumps to help with grip.

I use all of mine depending on my needs when I'm cooking. The small one is great for a small joint or whatever for one, the large I use the most when cooking a roast for my family of 3 (Me and my parents!) though you don't have to just limit yourself to using these just for roasts I use these for making a lasagna or moussakas as well and I like the choices of sizes that I have to hand.

I wash these up by hand and they look as good as new and they come with a whopping 10 year guarantee. I really like like my set of roasters, they stack up in my cupboard so are easy to store as well and all in all I would hate to be without them!

Glass pyrex dishes for roasting and baking

I love pyrex dishes and probably have way too many of them!
I bought this set around 2 years ago from a local discount store for £9.99.
It can now be purchased from Sainsburys for £6 in their 70% off sale down from £20.

There are 3 dishes in the set. They are all the same shape but different sizes.
      Large dish:

      Medium dish:
      Small dish:

The large dish is perfect for serving up a lasagne or pasta bake dish around the table with your family.
I like to put it on display when dishing up food, so I let people help themselves.
The smaller one I usually use for making puddings or just to act as a serving dish for vegetables, but it would be great for making dinners for one or your stuffing on Christmas day.
Py-rex is a very hard wearing glass which is resistant to extensive amounts of heating.

I have found it does take a while to cool when you've cooked in it which is good if you've made a desert and it's sitting on the side and you're having it after tea.
I don't think these dishes are best to cook casseroles as they aren't deep enough to hold that much liquid so would get a bit messy and they don't come with lids either.

They are good for doing your roast potatoes, roast veggies, pasta dishes and even just to serves things up in.
They clean up very well too. If you've been cooking with cheese in them sometimes it can burn to the glass, but with some elbow grease and a scourer you can get it off really well.

I don't see any faults with Pyrex dishes at all and have never had one break or chip either.
They come with 10 year guarantees so if you keep the receipt safe, you can get a replacement if yours breaks.
If you've never used Pyrex dishes (which almost everyone has or at least seen them) you would know the quality is second to none.

I have had a few of my Pyrex dishes handed down to me from my grandparents, and they are still going 50 years on.
Pyrex has been making glass kitchen wear since 1912 so that 100 years this year!
I do have to wonder if there are pieces of kitchen wear still floating about from then and still being used!.

Pyrex do a lot of different styles of dish from glass to ceramics.
I rate these 3 dishes as 5 out of 5 stars as there is nothing to fault them on at all.
They do their job, look lovely with a neatly layered lasagne in and clean up well enough that they look brand new for next time.

      Thanks for reading
