“ Bridlesmith Gate, Nottingham. „
The Bomb in Nottingham is a very trendy place to go. Inside the whole place is like a cave, as well as a maze at first, especially if you are drunk! All the walls are white and very minimalist. The furniture that there is downstairs is very funky, with lights shining through the tables. There are three rooms with different DJ's in each, so you can choose where to go. There are also different DJ's on different nights, so check out whose playing for your style of music. When I have been there the main middle room has been packed, while the others were more empty, so dancing in crowded conditions was a bit of a challenge! This is because the place is a little on the small side. If you need to sit down though its quite hard to find a space downstairs as there is little furniture. However, I think its a pretty cool night out, well worth it. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a night out on the town & who likes to dance.
I'm from Nottingham but I have only been to the bomb twice. The first time was about 2 years ago for a sixth form party. It was terrible. The music was useless and the place was tiny. It was relativley clean and the design of the place was modern and intersting. I thought though never again. However I did return a few weeks ago as everybody at uni kept going on about just how good it was meant to be and how they couldn't believe that as I was from Nottingham I hadn't been there more often. Once again though I say never again. It really is terrible and now I'm bigger the place looks even smaller! The 'modern' design no longer looks modern but dated and nasty. It is no longer clean but a little grubby and when I went - a friday night - the drinks were more expensive than anywhere else I could have gone. I was not impressed.
Being a great fan of rap, being greeted by Dr D.R.E and Eminem was a pleasant welcome. However, paying £3 per person in order to enter a club which is little bigger than the local chippie is not exactly my idea of value for money, neither is paying £1 for one's coat to be thrown on the floor behind a counter! The interior is fairly comfortable, despite there being a distinct lack of it... Although I am full of criticism for the club, drinks prices are fairly reasonable and the music is exellent on a Wednesday night! From time to time some big names come to the club and provide a really good night out, depending on one's taste in music and dancing!
